this is the tesla model 3 long range version it's been revised yet again to change some subtle things about the car there's no chrome anymore it's been replaced with black and this car will do a claimed 580 kilometers on one single charge from a 70 usable kilowatt-hour battery and that's what's staggering about tesla and i'll get into that when we're driving they are just so efficient to compare to pretty much every other electric vehicle what they can achieve with smaller batteries some of the german evs could only dream of it gonna have a good look at this car today in detail if it's your first time here welcome to the channel and hopefully you might get to subscribe if it is and if you've been here for well since day one welcome back it's also pretty clean around the front of the car no obvious changes big chunky headlights low splitter like solo and this car is pretty much operated by app so if you want to open the front for example just tip your button and in there you'll get a carry-on style suitcase something like you might put on to a short haul flight that will go in here it looks like it's never been used because it's spotless never closes first time though this badge is getting more and more famous because in the uk in june the model 3 from tesla was the best-selling car not ev car just car and there's a reason why i think tesla would actually sell more cars if they could but i'll get into that in a second these alloys they do look better in black but they have grown on me massively and one thing i love about the tesla is the regen braking is so usable as one pedal driving after a week of driving there's still no brake dust in those alloys so that's less cleaning time more the black continues around the side of the car including on your door handles still looks very sleek still has got a really nice low roof line does that impede on the rear space we'll get to that in a second and i still think in this red it's pretty good looking now i've been critical in my model 3 performance of some of the build quality i think they've stepped it up again people will always leave countable panel gaps i'm not seeing them i've looked around the entire car and the trim inside really does feel like it's stepped up in here the boot on the revised model 3 now is electric it raises up nicely it's quite a deep boot opening isn't too bad a small lip space and i mean space down here to hold chargers and actually probably you know another bag if you wanted and you can remove that if you need something bigger to sit up there the main criticism that um it actually will go up more than the motor makes it but even still if you're tall and you just forget and i promise you you're going to hit your head off that several times a week so maybe it's for shorter people i don't know because i'm not particularly tall but i keep hitting my head can't help but notice the glass all around the back of the car and the way it shades into a dark tint it looks classy this car has been nicknamed little red riding hood but i assume the tesla staff in dublin and if you haven't been to a tesla showroom it's different it's just different to everything people have become accustomed to still got a roof over it in cars but it's just different in the back of this car usbc charging and air vents come as standard you can flip that off if you don't know waste precious air and range being filtered back here it's a totally flat floor so there's loads of leg room even with the seats back you're never struggling it's uh it's extremely comfortable this white leather you've got to see in the flesh it's uh it really is gorgeous i don't know how long it'll last with jeans and stuff you'll have to probably keep cleaning it the armrest sits properly straight across and there's room for two good sized cup holders in there you could almost say they're kind of american-like now from my height a little bit on a six foot there is still plenty of room for this sloping rear line there is somewhere they pop out to hold your coats there's no grab handles and there's two further usb charging ports up here which is just a a nice touch like really nice i've never seen usbs or usbcs in in particular in the roof of a car before little pockets on the back of those seats as well they're not massive but it feels very airy no doubt helped by this glass right over your head something else that's really cool is summons mode so again via the tesla app that's so easy to set up you need your bluetooth on that's it and you can connect your vehicle in seconds and then if you're in a car parking space for example that's just well you've parked besides you know what hole or they've parked beside you actually smart summon will open on the phone and you hold it down and you can hear the car just start start to take hold and it will bear in mind everything in front of the car so it won't hit anything and if you have people in the back of the car for the first time it'll scare the absolute life out of them but like it's just so cool and yes it will remember the way it went forward so if you're then reversing it the wheels will start to move to make sure it goes back through the same path it came summon mode whatever next one thing that might get a bit annoying for your neighbors anyway is to unlock the car the horn goes every time and maybe that can be disabled if you know how to do it leave in the comments below because you'll probably help other people also watching this video who might be tesla owners [Applause] tesla are still relying on this center screen to control every aspect of the car the only exceptions would be the button steering wheels that can be used to adjust your mirrors for example or the driving telescope position of the steering wheel the fact that there's still nothing in front of you here i do it's not that this doesn't give you enough information it does it has everything but i just think it it just looks odd having nothing here but then you could argue it's about the simplistic the clean lines this version of the three now has charging for two devices wireless charging down here there's more storage space than ever down here under your armrest good cup holder sizes again probably actually not as big as the ones in the back the seats are electric and you can set them up that the profile knows you every time you can build in profiles into your via your phone and it'll know it's you approaching the car because you've unlocked it and it will adjust everything just the way you like it this car doesn't have autopilot so there's just two stalks including the one for changing uh forward and reverse and your windscreen wipers and your indicators are both controlled from that device you can just leave it on auto and it just kind of gets on with it there's still the open fire you can play racing and use the steering wheel to control the game as you're going it's very very difficult to manage the sat nav i found absolutely brilliant so easy you type in address and it just finds it every single time i wish other sat navs were as easy to use and there's all the buttons saw the shortcuts so you're never really going through menus to get to them it looks like the car is doing about 14 kilowatt hours per 100 kilometers and that really is amazingly efficient considering the fact that you think this car will do not to 60 miles an hour just over four seconds it has over 400 brake horsepower it's all-wheel drive like what they decided to achieve and gone beyond it is it really is amazing and when you now feel the build quality is just taking it up a notch teslas aren't for just fanboys anymore they really aren't uh the standard version of this car starts at under 49 000 euro it is an extra 10 grand for the long range version so you'd really want to be you know doing serious miles like i have i've got 50 of the battery left after driving for nearly a week and i've got over 300 kilometers left and i haven't been driving slowly the one thing that i think will make tesla still sit behind the likes of volkswagen with their electric offerings is you still can't do pcp and you can't do hp in a dealership you've got to start your own finance they do now do personal leasing but a car like this is still going to probably cost you a thousand euro a month whereas if you're a company car user while this one goes beyond the 50 the standard model 3 is well under the 50 and it's zero bik and in that aspect it's just a no-brainer but if they could get their finances in order in the sense of helping you buy one we would see more of these on the road make no mistake about it let me demonstrate the buttons on the steering wheel if this kind of stuff would annoy you so you just raise that up and you raise it down it's not that complicated if you'd like to go in you do that and if you'd like to come out it's all on the same little ball control on the steering wheel and because you're never really changing that often and the profile will be saved it's really not an awful lot to be asking the fact that you can do so much from a phone with a car is incredible whether it's finding out your exact location if someone's doing a speed that you feel they shouldn't be you can see when the car is moving on that phone how fast the car is traveling there's so much in one little device when it comes to the tesla model 3. you can relax the car back into chill mode if the 400 plus brake horsepower burst is just too much for you so maybe if you're just getting used to having a particularly fast car it might be something to bear in mind you know the knot to 60 time is staggering and it's just made all that easier by the amazing grip that you have when you floor the car and even when you do you're pushed back into your seats and things in your rear view mirror just get smaller and smaller very quickly if you want to see my model 3 performance video review you can click the link there but to me to be honest with you this is enough get the white leather the black alloys and this color and you're gonna have a car that looks pretty cool similarly you can adjust the weighting of the steering wheel and if you really like light steering although i i personally would feel it just it it's too sharp it's it's it's so light that you end up steering the car in directions you didn't mean to steer it in tesla tesla's so-called heads-up display i find is fine because it's quite beside your eye line in terms of you can keep an eye on the speed you're doing it'll also interpret road signs traffic lights speed signs so you can not fully drive this car looking at the window but the reversing camera is so good and the technology in the screen is so good it just makes it an easy car to drive and then you have tesla's charging i didn't bother driving up to castle bellingham in this particular video i have a model s where i did drive up to the supercharger on the north east side of the country and there's new charges now in cork of course as well there's no messing around with cards there's no ringing anybody because something doesn't work you just plug your card in and it's linked to your tesla account obviously that free charging for life isn't there anymore what a nice feature that was but with this usable 70 kilowatt hour battery it's still very chargeable at home you know you plug it in overnight you'll have that 580 range i would recommend unless you're doing that mileage do not charge your car past eighty percent that is the optimum charging and lithium-ion battery that is going to be used straight away shouldn't really be charged to 100 percent anyway so i do think the standard range versus the car coupled with the fact that they really are so economical it's not like you're going to see half obviously you know weather colder winters they will all affect the range of the car but i found it very very reliable and even at kind of faster speeds the handling is so sharp it like one argument you'll get from people who are are considered themselves true petrol heads they'll say no it's not the same and no i need to hear an engine noise and i do appreciate all those things i'm not dismissing them but if you are someone who enjoys cars there's so many elements built into how these teslas drive that i guarantee you'd still enjoy it it may not be the same experience but i i don't think you'd have a i don't think you'd walk away and say this is a crap car to drive because i've i've been that soldier i've had those cars and i do thoroughly enjoy driving this three different levels of regenerative braking uh the most severe does mean it's a it's a one pedal car and you can just ease off the throttle coming up to set the lights or anything like that and then just squeeze away and that that power never gets old it is proper smiling juicing stuff and uh yeah it's great fun sentry mode is a mode in the car basically the webcams front and back are always recording if you want them to and if there's any so if there's if there's a human walks across the front of the car somebody hits you obviously there's a window of footage that is recorded now it i would say drains the battery but it uses your battery and where i was fully charged during the week i went to drive the car the next day and century mode had been on keeping an eye on everything and it had gone from 500 plus into the car was at 450. so the more incidents that happen the more often it has to come on it is a great feature and it's amazing just having a dash cam that you don't even realize is there but sentry mode definitely use a significant chunk of your range so if you want to have decent range first thing in the morning i turn it off there again if you are owning this car for a while and you've gotten used to how much range you need it might be something you always leave on very useful feature just i was surprised at how much range it used although there is tire noise it's usually the most prominent noise you'll hear in any ev i do feel like there's been enough insulation going on to try and address that issue there's noise but doesn't seem too impactful into the cabin and certainly the aerodynamics of the design mean those a-pillars don't seem to be causing big problems when it comes to wind noise either it is a car that gets a lot of attention i've come out of shops and you'll find kids young kids teenagers want to ask questions about it people look at them there is definitely something that captures the public's imagination about tesla whether it's the looks of it whether they know the name because people like elon musk keep them in the news all the time but it gets attention there's a guy just having a nose right now as a right bike it happens i suppose real world around city center driving you're probably not going to get that 580 of course you want to be really taking it easy you have the right conditions probably have your aircon off and then if you open your windows you're going to create drag but they've thought of lots of other clever things such as the fact that you can leave a pet in the car and it says on the screen i don't know if i trust the public to understand that that option is there however but yeah you can keep it in pet mode when you're parked up if you want to run into the shops but it's a dog owner it's not that i wouldn't trust the tesla i would but i just it just feel odd but it would be cold maybe it's a psychological thing compared to annual ev though you're really like okay the the porsche take hand obviously and the audi e-tron gt they're cars where you don't necessarily feel the weight either the way the handling is pretty spectacular but they're not starting from 48 000 euro so no doubt with that added range this is a very very acceptable electric car by anyone's standards the fact that you can dump well over 200 kilometers into this car in 15 minutes at the right charger it is an electric car that answers an awful lot of critics when it comes to range and in my personal opinion it's a car that even petrol heads would enjoy driving and i don't think you can give it any higher accolade than that and the fact that it cost this quick in such a short space of time is staggering i think this is still the all-around electric car to beat while there was a whole stream of really cool electric cars either about to go on sale or on sale now think of the high end ionic five we're really in around such a different place that we were even at the start of this year in july in ireland there was massive sales of evs the warranty on the car is not as long as some of the competitors range performance style looks and now i'd argue build quality it is still the one to beat and if i'm honest with you i buy one in the morning thanks very much for watching
