[Music] hey everyone this is Kevin with turn bicycles and congratulations on your brand new orox in this video we'll be going over everything you need to know to get your Oro on the road or off I'll be covering both the S12 and R14 models and there's a lot to go through so we've added time stamps below to make it easier for you to skip to the sections that you want to watch all right let's get started your orox is an adventure cargo bike that has been designed to ride on three types of terrain paved roads graded and maintained gravel roads and unimproved trails with small obstacles like rots rocks and hard pack snow although you can get pretty hardcore your orox is not intended for scent riding activities like free riding hooking downhill jumping injo or any similar activities which may cause damage to the bike and risk injury to the rider we don't recommend getting your bike's motor submerged underwater either unlike our other turn bikes the ORS can go on a wider range of terrains so we do require you to have read and understood the orox operating manual and all of its safety instructions additionally Rider should be familiar with and adhere to local traffic rules and regulations you should have a familiarity with the terrain you'll be riding in possess the required physical capacity to operate the bike safely and should be at least 16 years of age if you plan on operating the orox with passengers you'll have to be 18 and above and have the physical ability to safely control the bike with all the added weight please refer to the orox quick start guide for more information about its intended use we have a link down below one of the most important things to ensure that you have a comfortable cycling experience is making sure that the saddle height suits you this can allow you to have good posture for a painless and enjoyable ride you can easily do this by opening the quick release lever adjusting the seat post to the height you want and closing the lever to secure it you can also adjust the quick release Itself by opening the lever and twisting the clamp screw nut for safety reasons always stay within both the minimum Insurgent indicators marked here and here on the seat post and if the quick release on the seat post is not properly closed or adjusted there is a risk of injury so it's essential to operate it correctly you can also adjust the saddle's position to have it closer or farther away from the handlebars and adjust the angle at which you're sitting use an allen wrench to loosen the two screws below the saddle and adjust the to your liking before tightening it again the orox is a pedal assist electric bicycle also known as a pedal this means that the motor system only provides power while you're pedaling it's good to keep in mind that the motor stops providing assistance once you've reach the maximum speed allowed in your local market one of the great features that your orox has is the Bosch smart system that connects the motor display battery control unit and the ebike Flow app together let's get into what this includes first you have your LED remote that you'll use to control the entire system to turn this on press the power button at the top once it's turned on the remote will light up with indicators for your battery and assistance level you can select how much assistance the motor provides at any given time during your ride with four levels to choose from Eco tour emtb and turbo to switch between the levels simply press the plus or minus button the display an LED light changes color to indicate which level you're in green is for Eco blue is for tour purple is for emtb and red is for turbo emtb mode is a super helpful feature that will provide an extra boost to help you get over a sudden obstacle or a steep incline to turn the system off simply press the power button again if the bike and the remote are left idle for more than 10 minutes the system will automatically turn itself off to save energy it is good practice to stand next to the bike or straddle it when turning the bike on or off never do so while applying pressure to the pedals next is the kiosk 300 display unit it has several pages of helpful information to assist you during your ride you can scroll through the pages by pressing the left and right arrow buttons on the LED remote to VI you more information about your speed trip range and more if you want to see more information within each category you can press the selection button this button can also be used to remove notifications from the display just be sure to read it first as it pertains to your ebike system and road safety you can remove the display by pushing it down towards the rear of the bike until you can lift the screen to put the display back on align the top with the mount and gently push it towards the rear while also pushing it down until you feel it Engage The Smart system comes with a walk Sy function which lets you easily push your bike uphill this feature comes in super handy when you have added weight on your bike before activating walk assist make sure that the bike is in one of the four e assist modes if the motor is set to off you won't receive any assistance to start walk assist press and hold the minus button on the LED remote then either walk the bike forward push the bike backwards or tilt the bike sideways with the minus button held down to engage this function the speed of the Walk assist depends on which gear you're in the higher the gear The More Walk assist your motor will provide to stop using walk assist release the minus button and press the plus button or wait for 10 seconds your orox has an integrated lighting system that includes the front light the rear light and brake lights to turn the front light on and off simply press the button with a light pulb icon on the left of the handlebar the button on the right toggles between high beam and low beam your brake lights use a sensor that detects when your bike is decelerating once it detects a strong deceleration the brake light will activate in the unlikely event that your bike tips over the rear light will begin to flash an SOS signal until the bike is standing back up again your Rx comes with a Bosch battery a Bosch battery charger and two battery mounts one in the frame pack and one in the rear seat tube installing the battery is easy place it on the battery Mount and push it down until you hear a click your smart system will work regardless of which Mount you insert the battery into although using the frame pack mount gives you that extra bit of protection from the elements a cool part of the orox is that you can greatly extend your range by purchasing a second battery and installing One battery on each Mount the smart system will evenly pull power from both batteries so that you'll have all all the power you need to get through a longer or tougher Trail your bike should come with two sets of keys and in case they get lost or damaged you can apply for a new set using the serial number that is written on your keys to be on the safe side we recommend emailing the number to yourself and registering your keys with a boost we'll put the registration Link in the description below you can charge your battery on or off your bike just make sure that the smart system is turned off before you do so you should also make sure that there's no moisture on the battery or socket area to charge the battery on the bike open the rubber lid on the C2 battery Mount plug the charger into the socket and connect the charger to an electric outlet the display should show that the battery is charging be careful not to damage the fins on the charger when plugging it into the socket once plugged in your battery will start charging no matter which Mount it's installed on if you have two batteries on the bike they will charge simultaneously make sure you're charging on a fireproof surface to ensure maximum safety to charge the battery off the bike insert the key into the lock and the battery will pop out then you can simply lift the battery to pull it out once the battery is off the bike you can plug the charger straight into the battery to start charging always remove the key from the lock to make sure the battery doesn't get disconnected while riding and that no one removes the battery when you're not around both battery mounts use the same key so you won't have to worry about carrying two keys just make sure that you keep it safe to learn more about protecting your battery visit our support site or download the Bosch ebike manual we'll put a link in the description below the ebbi Flow app is the control center for the BOS smart system you can use it to lock your bike customize the motor's performance and riding modes install the latest BOS smart system software updates and much more connecting the app with your bike through Bluetooth is super easy first download the Bosch ebike Flow app we have a link in the description once you have the app downloaded click connect bike on the homepage select LED remote and hold down the top button on your LED remote as instructed until the bike is paired with your phone now that your phone is connected to the app you have access to a variet of features and functions like recording your ride and fitness data adjusting your assist and speed levels and of course the ebike lock and alarm although it won't replace using a robust bike lock to secure your bike frame to something sturdy having the ebike lock and alarm can certainly help prevent others from stealing your bike not only will an alarm sound but you can also track the location of your bike through the app we definitely recommend playing around with the app because there are a lot of customization options to fit your needs for more information on the ebike Flow app and its features check out this playlist with some how-to videos if left unpaired your bike is open for anyone to connect their phone undoing this can be a lengthy process so even if you don't plan on using all the features we still suggest pairing your phone with your orox your orox comes with a shifter that allows you to control the speed and pedaling resistance how you shift gears depends on which model you have if you're an orox S12 Rider your bike comes with a Shimano Dior trigger shifter this indicator here shows whether you're in a high or low gear to shift to a lower gear push the lever closest to you and to shift to a higher gear either pull or push the lever farthest from you the orx R14 comes with a rolloff twist shifter and an internal gear Hub to shift gears simply twist the shifter away from you to change to a higher gear and towards you to change to a lower gear the number that is aligned with the logo on the shifter will indicate which gear you're in one of the best things about riding a bike with an internal gear Hub is that you can shift gears at a sand still this is especially convenient when you're at a traffic stop remember to ease off the pressure on the pedal when shifting and if you're riding the R14 we recommend you stop pedaling completely when shifting as to not damage the internal gear Hub regardless of which orox model you have we highly recommend that you change gears as you would a regular bike downshift to a lower gear before coming to a stop or riding up a steep hill and shift to a higher gear as you accelerate or ride downhill it'll help you maintain an efficient Cadence and prevent premature wear on the drivetrain your orox comes with a set of mura mt5 four piston hydraulic disc brakes on the front and rear for excellent stock stopping power in all conditions when looking at your handlebar from the rider's position the rear brake lever is on the right and the front brake lever is on the left in a few countries this orientation may be reversed so we recommend double checking before your first ride if you're not sure Please be aware that suddenly pulling your brakes too hard can lead to dangerous results especially in slippery and wet conditions and general aim to apply even pressure to both brake levers when you need to stop your brake pads are consumable parts that may be the first part of your orox that need to be replaced so keep an eye on your brake pads especially if you ride down steep descents regularly your Oro can stand and roll vertically which can come in handy when you need to maneuver or Park your bike in small spaces parking your bike vertically also gives you easy access to your driv train for when you're doing maintenance or cleaning it takes a bit of practice to master the art of vertically rolling and parking your or Rock but you'll get the hang of it after a few tries let me show you how to do it start by standing next to your bike on a flat area and hold the handlebar with both hands you can stand on either side for this apply the rear brake and walk backward until the bike stands up make sure that the four contact points on the rear of the bike are indeed touching the floor and that the bike is parked on a flat even surface be careful not to leave the front wheel facing up as it could swing to the side and potentially knock something over gently G turn the wheel in One Direction so that it's resting against the bike and there you go now your bike is vertically parked to unpark your bike hold the handlebars apply the rear brake and walk forward until the front wheel makes contact with the ground we don't recommend trying to catch the bike as it comes down just walk forward with control you can also roll your orox when the bike is in a vertical position carefully release the rear brake and roll the bike forward there are a few things we recommend checking before every ride we use the abbreviation ABC Q A is for air use your fingers to squeeze the tires to check the air pressure and pump your tires if you need to depending on where you plan on biking you'll want to adjust your tire pressure accordingly if you're riding on paved roads you can run higher pressure on your Tires For Less rolling resistance if you plan on going off-road or on Snowy path running a lower tire pressure can give you greater surface area for better traction and suspension just remember not to have the tire pressure too low otherwise you could damage the rims you can see the recommended tire pressure range marked here on the tire wall B is for brakes and batteries check the brakes by squeezing both levers to make sure the bike stops also make sure that the battery is properly secured to the battery Mount and sufficiently charged for your ride see is for chain and cables if you're going to fully inspect your chain or belt always remove any cargo from your orox to check if the chain or belt turns freely through the gears vertically Park your bike or tilt the bike forward on the kickstand and hold the handlebar to prevent the bike from falling then rotate the pedal forward several times and run through the gears next check if the cables are undamaged and untangled Q is for the quick release check if the quick release on the seat post is securely closed and not too loose or tight cleaning and maintaining your orox is incredibly important in making sure that your bike stays safe and reliable you should always clean your bike after going off-roads or riding in the snow if salt water gets on your bike it could cause damage to some parts and components so you should make sure to wash the soft here are a few tips you can use soapy water and a sponge or brush to get a lot of the grit and grime off just remember not to use strong water pressure as that could damage the moving parts or get into sealed areas if you're riding the S12 once you've washed down your bike with soapy water it's time to lubricate your chain make sure to degrease everything before applying your lubricant wipe off any excess oil so your chain doesn't clog up we have a more detailed video linked below the R14 uses the belt drive which is durable and requires remarkably little maintenance that said it's still important to clean your belt with water when it's visibly dirty and be aware of your belt's tension we have a belt maintenance article linked below check if your wheels are crude meaning straight by spinning them check for any abnormal side to side motions or if the disc brake rotor is rubbing against the brake pads if you find anything that is worn or damaged bring your bike to your dealer there are several parts of your bike that will wear over time including the chain brake pads and tires if you notice signs of wear visit your dealer for Replacements last but not least we recommend bringing your bike back to your dealer for regular service all bikes need a Quick tune up one month after use so that your dealer can adjust cables or any other key Parts after the first tuneup we recommend that you take some time to discuss a regular service schedule with your dealer how often you'll bring your bike back for service really depends on your riding frequency typical load weather conditions Road services and more we'll put a link to our recommended ebike maintenance schedule in the description below as you can tell from the design of the orox the bike is made to go offroads however there are a few things that you should be aware of before you start riding on Trails first is your bike's Max gross vehicle weight this is the maximum weight that your bike has been designed to safely carry this includes the bike itself accessories Riders cargo and trailers the orox has a max gross vehicle weight of 210 kg or 463 lb on paved roads and maintained gravel roads on unimproved Trails it's 180 kg or 397 lb try carrying your Cargo in a safe location first if you cannot steadily control the bike then you should reduce the amount of cargo you're carrying to carry passengers on your orox always remember the four essential items a purpose-built rear seating something for your passengers to hold on to other than the bike itself fix platforms for foot support on both sides of the bike and foot and leg protection to prevent anything from getting caught in the spinning wheel how much you can carry on your orox is defined by three categories PVE roads graded and maintain gravel roads and unimproved trails so depending on what category the road you're taking falls under there will be different cargo and passenger limits on pave roads you can carry up to two children or one adult with the cargo weight not exceeding 70% of the rider's weight if you're planning on installing a child seat you must only use a child teeth that conforms to the en 14344 standards graded to maintain gravel roads can carry one adult or an older kid who is 26 kg or 58 lbs and above and finally you should not carry passengers on unimproved trails and cargo weight should not exceed 20% of the rider's weight do keep in mind that these limits may vary depending on your physical abilities and cycling capabilities please make sure that you're familiar with the correct passenger and cargo guides before carrying anything on your orox for more information look no further than your orox is quick start guide that comes with your bike we'll have an online version linked below and that's it we hope you've enjoyed this video and are all set to go on an adventure with your Oro remember if you have any questions you can always look back at your quick start guide or give your dealer a visit and be sure to share your experiences with us on Facebook we can't wait to hear from you see you [Music] [Applause] there
