YEAH. SCOTT. AND DONE. ABOUT THREE HOURS AGO, ONE MAN WAS ARRESTED HERE NEAR THE ENCAMPMENT. BUT WE'RE STILL TRYING TO DETERMINE WHAT EXACTLY THAT WAS IN RELATION TO. BUT THE PRO-PALESTINIAN GROUP HERE ON THE QUAD CONTINUES TO GROW. I DON'T TRUST THEM WITH MY LIFE, MA'AM. I DON'T TRUST THEM. UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO POLICE TAKING A MAN AWAY IN HANDCUFFS NEAR THE UCHICAGO UNITED FOR PALESTINE'S ENCAMPMENT. BUT IT'S STILL UNCLEAR IF THIS ARREST WAS RELATED TO THE DEMONSTRATION, WHICH HAS NOW BEEN GOING ON SINCE MONDAY. THE GROUP CALLING FOR THE UNIVERSITY TO DIVEST FROM COMPANIES WITH TIES TO ISRAEL. WE'RE PROTESTING THE FACT THAT AMERICAN TAX DOLLARS ARE BEING USED TO FUND A FOREIGN WAR THAT'S KILLING MOSTLY CHILDREN AND WOMEN IN PALESTINE. EARLIER IN THE DAY, CAMPUS POLICE FORMING A BARRIER BETWEEN THE PRO-PALESTINIAN PROTESTERS AND COUNTER PROTESTERS WHO SHOWED UP CARRYING AMERICAN AND ISRAELI FLAGS, PROMPTING THIS TWEET FROM THE UNIVERSITY JUST AFTER 1 P.M. PLEASE AVOID THE MAIN QUAD AREA REPORTS OF PHYSICAL ALTERCATIONS. MY LIFE HAS BEEN VERY HECTIC. I'VE HAD EXAMS DISRUPTED DURING UNAPPROVED TIMES. BY THEIR CHANCE, WE'VE HAD OUR OWN INSTALLATIONS VANDALIZED. THESE STUDENTS SAY THEY UNDERSTAND THE CONCERNS FOR THE WAR IN GAZA, BUT DON'T AGREE WITH THE CALLS FOR VIOLENCE FROM THE GROUP. AFTER A MEETING THURSDAY BETWEEN SCHOOL LEADERS AND PROTESTERS, THE UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT, PAUL ALIVISATOS, SAYS THOSE IN THE ENCAMPMENT ARE VIOLATING POLICIES AND THE ENCAMPMENT CANNOT CONTINUE. WE CAN'T LEAVE BY THE UNIVERSITY'S INTIMIDATION. ATTEMPTS ARE THEY GOING TO REMOVE YOUR ENCAMPMENT? I DON'T HAVE THE ANSWER. I DON'T HAPPENS IF THEY TRY. WHAT HAPPENS IF THEY TRY? HOPEFULLY OUR COMMUNITY SHOWS UP AND SHOWS OUT, AND WE CAN KEEP GOING AND KEEP GOING UNTIL OUR GOAL OF DIVESTMENT. BECAUSE AT THE END OF THE DAY, THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE UNIVERSITIES. THIS ISN'T ABOUT THE MOVEMENTS THAT WE'RE SEEING IN THE US ACROSS THE COUNTRY. THIS IS ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING IN GAZA. NOW, THERE WERE NO INJURIES IN THAT CLASH THAT HAPPENED EARLIER THIS AFTERNOON. CHICAGO'S MAYOR AND POLICE SUPERINTENDENT WERE ASKED ABOUT THE ENCAMPMENTS ON THE CAMPUSES. AND THE MAYOR SAYS THAT WHILE FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS NEED TO BE PROTECTED, THAT THEY WILL CONTINUE TO ASSESS THE SITUATION. ALL THESE DEMONSTRATIONS ACROSS THE CAMPUSES IN AND AROUND CHICAGO, THE POLICE SUPERINTENDENT SAYS OF COURSE, SAF
