TEAM UMIZOOMI LORE (what am I doing with my life??)

in a world that's not so far away aside from that being the best singing performance of anyone's life I'm not even joking the theme song goes so incredibly hard and Bots performance specifically makes me way more happy than it should as a fully grown adult but let's think about what's being said here in a world that's not so far away Umi City so I assumed Umi City was in a world close to Earth but in the episode counting Comet they call the planet they're on Earth so why did they say that no [ __ ] it's not far away from Earth it's Earth butt lovers welcome back to the lore Series where we explore shows no one else is brave enough to I'm not talking about the one time I did commercials it's dead to me usual disclaimer the intended audience for these videos are young adults and adults yes the subject matter is a children's show but we look way too deep into it for comedic and nostalgic effect you may be wondering why do you do this that is a very good question and honestly going from Elena of avalor to this I was asking myself the same thing but kid shows whether they're story driven or not have a level of absurdity I love applying logic to okay we're having fun this is fun we're having a silly goofy time Team Umizoomi aired new episodes on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr from 2010 to 2015. totaling four seasons and 78 episodes overall although Wikipedia calls every single 45 minute special two episodes so they say there's 80 episodes in Team Umizoomi who who cares who cares let's first talk about the characters and formula of the show Team Umizoomi this show follows Millie Geo and Bot as they try to solve everyone's problems like the Wonder Pets but they actually like and respect each other Millie and Geo are siblings and Bot is their best robot friend they say this verbatim every episode of season one and I'm so glad after that they just said best friend like you don't have to clarify that he's a robot we can see that speaking of Bot he's voiced by Donovan Patton who also plays Joe in Blues Clues and according to interviews he says he's not a natural singer which is wild to me because he absolutely killed it seriously listen to the theme song because he what's four plus four oh yeah eight he ate and speaking of math all of these characters have Mighty math Powers season one was the most formulaic where we hear the Umi alarm see a live action kid explain their problem then Team Umizoomi asks us to join the team and then they power up by explaining each of their powers Millie can make any pattern with her dress Geo has shape power which makes sense Geo geometry huh and Bot condox anyone on his belly belly belly screen then they tell us we have Mighty math Powers too and Millie counts down from 10 with us to prove it this power seems useless but but once it's New Year's Eve it's game over for all you [ __ ] but wait if Millie can do that too why do they even need us like I get it we're there Umi friend and they recruited us just because we were there they don't need to see credentials or anything I feel like they need to take the hiring process a bit more seriously because what if someone nefarious joins and sabotages their missions someone like me you have to tell us which way to go to get to the duck should we go down or up down oh what the [ __ ] they not only saved the day with the power of math but also celebrate using a crazy Shake which I can only assume is also to lower their power level to a more comfortable resting level cut and simple right literally not at all because they're Little Liars they oversimplified their powers so much million Bots specifically are way more powerful than they're letting on we'll get to that in a bit but first let's discuss the very popular meme in 2013 for found a few months after I post this anyway let's compare the pilot to the final product right off the bat the team is a lot bigger there were two scrap characters one purple and one orange and honestly I don't miss them I feel like if they kept it a team of five it would literally just be super why but for Math and I think a team of three makes them stand out more and it seems as though the orange one has the shape Powers because he has the belt and the purple one has the patterns based on the way they're dressed just looking at the Millie Geo and Bot prototypes now and well not much has changed for bot Millie has a Hey Arnold head and both of the siblings complexions match what they're wearing with Millie being pink and Geo being blue they look more like robots as opposed to their human-ish appearances in the final product [Music] [Applause] let's go through all the other powers they have other than pattern power super shapes and belly screen in the first episode we also witnessed Milli measure where Millie uses her ponytails to measure things which explains her name Millie millimeter perhaps we also got to see bot using his antenna as a speed radar can you imagine this dude pulling you over do you know how fast you were going spot also has a bottle mat where he stores different items I think it should have been called a bot pack think about it it's a compartment on his Bat it's a built-in bot backpack also this one's a bit more of a stretch but the way he cuts this blanket is alarming invisible eye lasers perhaps this one's not a stretch although he does with his extendo legs and extendo arms and in the episode ready for takeoff during the song we see he also has an extendo jaw which is obviously concerning I didn't know he could do that and now I'm scared in multiple episodes they use Umi goggles at first we never see the goggles we're only instructed to put our hands up to our eyes and those are the goggles and we see them do the same and all of a sudden we all have X-ray vision and the ability to see underwater it was fishy there's a lot of puns on this episode but then by season 1 episode 15 picnic The Jig was up we saw the Umi goggles they're a physical thing I guess they just wanted us to feel included no no ah they lied to us Millie measure is extremely opaque she can measure the depth of a lake as seen in the episode The Elephant sprinklers is there any limit to how far her hair can stretch and she doesn't just measure length Millie measure can also compare weights like a scale and can also act as a thermometer in the season 4 episode Umi ninja Millie uses her ponytails As Weapons now here's where things get a little strange from season two onwards in the theme song There's a shot of Millie and Geo without their helmets look at at Millie's hair it's so different now look at how her hair is filtered through the suit when she puts her helmet Hood up are her magic ponytails just part of the super suit do the kids even have powers or did bot make them super suits that gave them Powers hold on to that thought in the episode to the library Millie makes a pattern of vines on her dress and then she puts the vines onto a building and also in the episode The Wild West Toy Show Milly's pattern power made train tracks I think using her power in this way undermines Geo's ability to build like if Millie had a car truck airplane hot air balloon dress Geo's power is useless to them in fact his power is less practical because it takes time for him to build things whereas Millie can just instantaneously make them appear million bot are so much more powerful than Geo it's actually quite sad maybe that's why they recruited us they're like geo geo look this [ __ ] doesn't even have powers the episode that finally introduced an aspect of Geo's powers that Millie couldn't duplicate was Santa's little fixers and I'll get to what that power is but while we're here let's just talk about the episode I'm sorry I'm annoying and take Christmas and Christmas specials way too seriously and the casting of Santa is killing me look at this Party City wig and that fake ass beard his ho ho ho was weak too listen to this supposed to just say ho ho ho it's supposed to be a guttural old man laugh what the I hate to even I don't think the actor for Santa is fat either like a pillow is shoved under a shirt casting Department there are just people that look like Santa in the world what is this for example have you guys seen The Tick Tock Santa he is the Canon Santa to me and if this ever ages poorly I am living off the grid and I'm never talking to anybody again I will literally never trust another human being you're so brave one more thing Santa's elves are animated to look more like Team Umizoomi as opposed to the other live-action humans but they are still slightly larger than the UMES and have a slight illusion of a nose maybe the umis are Sprites maybe tiny cyborgs we're gonna discuss we're gonna discuss now on to Geo's power Geo helped with symmetry which Millie couldn't have done because these shapes are so irregular she couldn't have made a dress pattern out of that finally Geo has something over the other two it's very specific and probably won't come in handy that much but still good for him seasons 3 and 4 introduce more Geo weapons such as the shape splitter and the shape magnet shape magnet acts as a grappling hook attaching itself to certain shapes while the shape splitter doesn't really add anything new other than this fruit ninja-like visual he can easily complete the same tasks with his shaped belt but he does it just for Flair which I can respect now here's where things get concerning in the season 3 episode sledding snow day bot just turns himself into a sphere he has transformative abilities more concerningly is in the episode Umi cops that I rather not talk about but has a robo nose a robot knows a giant nose he has on a separate retractable limb that combines with the extendo jaw and he can be like alien from the movie Alien I'm scared of Bot but his singing is phenomenal also I've been keeping a big secret about Geo he can make living creatures from his shapes we've seen Millie make living things two with her dress like butterflies but GEOS are way more elaborate in the episode shark car he made a lobster in the episode meatball Madness Geo made an ape with his shapes two weeks in a row of King Kong homages which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice right and also in the episode king of numbers he made a pirate Geo invented Roblox and the noseless nature of this pirate mixed with the fact that we see him again in season three proving that his Creations don't just fall apart made me wonder hmm were Millie Geo and Bot just made by someone lots of questions very few definitive answers but remember when I asked if their powers were from them or their suits well in Team Umizoomi versus the shape bandit Geo's belt was stolen which I thought would render him useless but the power of shapes might be within him all along because he still had his shape Powers even making a helicopter out of food however his little super suit antenna does create a blueprint that he just has to follow so that's still technically from his suit the mystery continues shifting our Focus to the live-action society that takes up 90 of Umi City what do they do what does their day-to-day life look like well let me tell you something I had a sneaking suspicion they were relying on Team Umizoomi a bit too much and these suspicions were confirmed in the episode the milk out hate the episode name but it's important so let's talk about it first we see million Geo start their day waking up and having breakfast and who was making breakfast for the kids but parental figure confirmed thought is their dad but uh oh they ran out of milk and immediately the Umi alarm went off which means someone needs their help so I genuinely thought they were gonna check the belly screens and see themselves let's see who needs our help wait that's that's just us what does that mean oh wait need help what happened next was arguably stranger they get a call from three kids all dealing with the same problem as them and this is how they realize the entire city is out of milk what's the reason for this city-wide milk shortage it turns out the farmer has a tiny gold how small is the city it'll be better by tomorrow how do you know Team Umizumi then does the farmer's job for him so we see what his day entails first the talking animated cows have to be put in their stalls all the animals are animated by the way and most of them can talk this is just the world we're in dude the farmer also has a milking machine he doesn't even need need to attach it he just needs to turn it on and the Machine does the rest how was there a milk shortage they make it look so easy he doesn't even need to send it to the factory to get packaged this magical rope just appears out of nowhere and Scoops it up he literally doesn't have to do anything it was a hundred percent automized the very next episode super trip to the supermarket there's this a live checkout machine no cashiers it's like self-checkout but scarier because it has a face for some reason I pondered do any of these humans have actual jobs how do they have Umi dollars and Umi coins to pay for things when none of them work there was also no librarian in the episode to the library and in the episode Favorite Things show we see kids in a school but we never see the teacher we hear a voiceover of the teacher but because we never see them we can't rule out the possibility that the teacher may be a robot and just to reiterate it's not like this is a Charlie Brown effect where they just never show the adults but it's implied they're there we see many adult humans in um city they're just never working thus far the only job we heard about was the farmer and we already know he doesn't do [ __ ] this is anti-higgly Town Heroes the next episode ready for takeoff really shows the range in the severity of the problems they solve sometimes kids call them with something as stupid as oh I lost my favorite yo-yo can you please help me get it back but in this episode a child calls about problems with his flight his team only zoomy about to fix a plane have they done this before this is a big job they filled it with gas put in the suitcases cleared a very tiny amount of snow from the runway and changed the lights from red to Green I feel like another group of people could have taken care of that first of all there was no security so I guess there's no crimes in Umi City then no one to pump the gas we do see somebody drive the suitcases to the conveyor belt but he drove away when the suitcases got stuck it's not my job kind of based but also a full flight of people were not gonna take off because no one can do their jobs except for the flight attendants for snacks my disbelief that there was no actual ice on the runway and no weather problems and yeah this seems like such a non-issue to cancel a whole flight over and it didn't seem like anyone was gonna take care of them besides team umizume in the episode ice cream truck team only zoomi tracked down an ice cream truck that had a flat tire after they fixed it we see the ice cream man call his boss essentially saying dude you're not gonna believe this but the title just got fixed on its own whatever back to delivering ice cream I guess and just moves on with his day they're so used to these tiny Little Miracles we also see just how amazing the ice cream truck looks on the inside it is a dessert Wonderland these human [ __ ] don't have to work and live in the best timeline at the same time their city is beautiful crimeless they have access to just the best resources and they don't have to work for it I will elaborate more on that in a second but now I'm gonna pull us back down to a very harsh reality with the slightly random gross childhood memory if you're squeamish hearing yucky unhygienic things skip to this time stamp it's on the screen right now anyway when I was younger me and my family were all in a car and we pulled up to this red light and we were next to an ice cream truck and this ice cream truck had a big window and for whatever reason we were all joyously just looking through the window and and seeing the ice cream truck oh ah an ice cream truck and the ice cream man we see him take his hand and just shove it so deep into his ass he was scratching his ass under pants probably under the underwear like really deep in there scratch scratch scratch scratch he was scratching his ass so deeply and so intensely it made me never perceive ice cream trucks in the same way again this [ __ ] never would have happened in Umi City in the episode playground Heroes Team Umizoomi is cleaning up a park but then they're like oh no the park ranger's gonna get here and if we don't clean up the this dirty slide that got dirty during a storm then she's not gonna open up the park why is it every human's job to just say yeah we can't do this and yet and yet their society is truly magical I want to live there let me tell you about their Museum they have casually alive dinosaurs talking friendly dinosaurs that live among them okay I love dinosaurs and then there's also this space room it even comes with a ride I know it's animated I know it's not real it's so unfair that I can't go here I want to go to a museum slash amusement park imagine a place where you can go to learn and then you get whipped in the air 80 miles per hour she's an icon she's a legend and she is the moment now come on now you know I needed an entire section for this iconic Jordan Sparks Cameo it is also burned into my memory because when it came out my sister would non-stop be singing this song which was very cute and a little bit annoying so the episode starts with Team Umizoomi watching the blue mermaid through bot's doxing device I love that they made the character look exactly like Jordin Sparks we witnessed this in cell squid capture the blue mermaid for her in his words beautiful glow this shit's scary the blue mermaid then facetimes Team Umizoomi through a message in a bottle and gives them instructions on how to save her as usual they solve a bunch of math problems and save the day but two things don't sit right with me one Jordin Sparks is way too nice to the squid cell he's like oh I'm scared scared dark that's why I kidnapped you I don't buy it at all also not a good enough reason to kidnap someone secondly I was wondering why they didn't have the full song in the episode but then I remembered they aired this music video with them live action in the recording studio during the commercials wait why is Team Umizoomi also in the recording studio not only do they not have a feature in the song but also they're breaking the fourth wall where they actors all along that would explain the Gordon Ramsay commercial which I you know made that amazing segue into my sponsor no I don't like that theory so I'm just gonna ignore it let's get back to Squiddy because his [ __ ] boy Redemption Arc did not mean [ __ ] because he's back in the season 4 episode Umi ninja where he steals Team Umizoomi's trophy [Music] the lie detector determined that was a lie this is confirmation that his pathetic I'm scared of the dark excuse was all an act I knew he was bad news and I'll just say it it never sat right with me that they just brushed aside the fact that he kidnapped someone [ __ ] Squiddy dude worst part is he gets out of consequences for stealing the trophy in the same way he manipulates them he squintupulates them because he's not a man he's a squid [Music] I just want to be a ninja too yeah and I'm in the mood for calamari also quick shout out to season four's the sunshine fairy for just being the blue mermaid special all over again this fairy has glowy Sunshine powers and this elf named Grog steals them from her it even ends with him wallowing just like how Squiddy did I just wanted my home to be brighter dear God same motive too this is all just a metaphor for how sexists are enabled by being coddled their whole life a woman doesn't owe you [ __ ] just because you feel bad about yourself robots are running the Navy not the Navy in the episode Carnival carousel horses can talk in the season 3 episode The Cuckoo Bears Team Umizoomi watches a live performance from an animatronic band of bears Five Nights at Freddy's that's where I Wanna Be oh Nights at Freddy their chest gear is what keeps them alive Team Umizoomi then witnessed a huge Breeze blow essentially their mechanical Hearts from their bodies and then they died right in front of them pretty cool okay I'm pretty sure many of you were waiting for me to talk about Umi car but where do I even start with this one with his uncharacteristically low voice that he can only use to say his name like a damn Pokemon or oh I know the fact that he randomly just gains a face halfway through season one and they didn't acknowledge this huge change to the story this whole series is teaching kids how to notice patterns and changes and then they throw this at them like they just wouldn't notice I feel like this series was still finding out what it wanted to be as it was airing and there's nothing wrong with that but I wish they had at least one line acknowledging the change even something as basic as allow umikar you look different in season 4 they celebrate umikar's birthday I didn't realize this car was growing up but I guess it always just Catches Up On Us unexpectedly they grow up so fast but maybe this is why a face just popped up unexpectedly maybe that's just a natural part of Carr's life here in fact in the episode Race Around Umi City we see a lot of trucks cars buses tractors and taxis proving that this isn't just Tech that Team Umizoomi has access to this is a very common occurrence in Umi City remember how I said robots are taking over in the episode The Umi sports games all sports have been taken over by robots the car is even competing but no humans on the flip side though season 4 gizmos gone wild there are these robots called gizmos that this man is selling for people to clean their houses with them but chaos ensues as the head antenna was actually flipped to the make mess mode why is not a mode who made these things and does this not disturb bot doesn't he want robot kind to not be sold as products at the mall I think this is only disturbing because they gave them faces and made them look like the alive robots we've seen throughout the series but instead they're so primitive we never see them emote or Express their wants and desires all they know is clean and make mess why couldn't they just make them look like a non-alive vacuum there are actual villains in the show and I hate none of them aside from Squiddy as much as I hate Dormouse and he's supposed to be a good guy apparently I can't stand him dormouse's job is supposed to be guarding every door in Umi City but every time he pops up he pulls some [ __ ] like hey you Umizoomi I'll let you through this door if you can tell me what two plus four equals get the [ __ ] out of their way they're just trying to be nice helping kids and [ __ ] and you're making their lives harder why season three a sledding snow day thank God Millie is also losing her patience with Dormouse okay that didn't seem like a lot but with the usual cheery nature of this show that's like their version of go [ __ ] yourself isn't it your job to let people through these doors you suck at this you suck at your job he don't ask games every season of this show adds a new layer and honestly I think season four is their best look at this anime ass roll call season 2 adds more Magical elements the most disturbing of which being these bear blossoms and this Shadow Shape Shifter on top of that they get called about the problems less and more often than not they're actually already at the scene of the crime season 2 also introduces more recurring characters like Silly Bear dorm Mouse Squiddy and I'll never forgive it for that the last season focuses way more on action chopping kicking and ponytail whipping their way through obstacles I've never seen a show with so much action and yet zero violence it's honestly kind of impressive but the best thing last season threw at us was the trouble for you from the very beginning season 4 episode 1 umikar's birthday present I saw just how iconic the troublemakers are they have their own theme song and they also have trouble truck which is just an evil version of the umikar like I said season 4 wasn't messing around anymore in their very first appearance they tried to make the Umi car crash and their punishment Team Umizoomi didn't do anything they didn't bother to capture the the troublemakers that just threaten their safety because they're already covered in trash and isn't that punishment enough in the episode stolen lunches the troublemakers are back and they stole everyone's lunch boxes Team Umizoomi prevents the troublemakers from malnourishing these kids and their punishment here's the thing they never do anything to punish the troublemakers because they're already in a stinky situation this time they were being sprayed by a skunk what a stupid way of getting away with crime I just killed five people I hope the cop well I know what I must do well it looks like she already got what she deserves indigestion is a fair sentence season 4 episode 15 movie Madness might be the best episode of the entire show the troublemakers jumped inside a movie and the trouble truck turns into an airplane this proves that they have similar abilities to Team Umizoomi and the umikar I haven't mentioned this yet but yeah Geo actually helps Umi car transform multiple times into a fire truck into a sled into a rescue copter and every time umikar gains the ability to say his new name in his usual seductive tone anyway back to movie Madness aka the best episode The Troublemakers attack Our Heroes by shooting Globs of peanut butter at them that's how I want to go out these are the villains we needed in the first three seasons seriously they bring so much life into this series I'm ashamed to admit it but usually I skim through when they're just counting and doing the math but this episode The visuals were so fun I just sat there one two three Globs of peanut butter hurtling towards our faces and they countered the peanut butter attack with jelly come on come on now that's fun the last episode was a 45 minute special entitled Umi Space Heroes and guys it was epic the troublemakers broke the moon also umikar transformed into a spaceship all on his own this is a never-before-seen ability how much more hype could this get guys guys guys this is not a drone there were aliens on the planet Tuk Tuk and they looked like this and what do you notice about them that's right they are the non-evil versions of Twinkies from Jimmy Neutron little Athena's greatest wish came true and through another Nickelodeon show at that this is Canon I'm so happy even now fully grown on a different planet the troublemakers make a volcano that bot is on erupt let me repeat that the troublemakers fully tried to kill bot and canonically this show ends with the troublemakers being ejected out into space brutal but lovers I sure hope you had as much
