- Hi. - Hi - What's up. (upbeat music) I'm just getting comfy. You know, this is how I take
naps. People always ask, I'm... - We're going to a little cabin and we have an obnoxious
amount of things. - It's time for us to
take a little vacation. We're going to Big Bear
Lake, and we're just going to enjoy each other's time and
company and rest and relax and nap and sleep. And ah, I can't wait. We need it. We need it. It's been a hustle these past few
weeks, so we're ready to go. - Right, well, let's get
these bags and get going. We have Cole's shower chair, just our suitcase and camera stuff, because we're gonna film. I think it's gonna be fun
to get creative and film. This is all we got. Plus food. - Yay - Here. Right! Ready?
- Yeah, let's get outta here. Start drivin'. (bustling street) - We made it - We are here. We we've arrived and we have
an accessible parking space which makes life much easier. Unfortunately, the
accessible cabins are like on the more interior area of their lot. We don't have the mountain view which I'd love to have be that as it may, we're here. I'm excited. I'm gonna be sleeping, looking
at the back of my eyelids through the most of, most of
this next few days anyway. So not too stressed about that. - Yeah. All right. Well,
let me go check it out check in and then I'll come back. - Let's do it. (whimsical music) (door opens) (air conditioner humming) (whimsical music) - So we told them we were
bringing a dog and so they got little pup stuff. And then you got a bowl for all your food. Then you got you some, They got Sophie treats. - Aw. - They got Sophie treats. Oh my gosh - Oh, she looks so happy. - What is it? I, oh, I, how dare I do that? Okay. Here you go. - Yay - So one of the first things
you do when you arrive here you come over to the, the
dinner table and then you you find your lock box right here. It says cell phone lock
box for a true escape. Forget your phone inside. - Oh, and your phone just went off so.. - And it just went off so
I need to put it on silent. - Well, put it on, put it on airplane mode - Even better. And this goes in here. Do do, do - Cole is my background. Cause I'm that kinda wife. - There we go. - Thank you. Okay. - Nice. Do a little hook - And it's gone. - Now we break out the iPad. - That's how Cole is gonna read. Yeah. - That's how I read paperback books are not very friendly to quad hands. - No. - We're just gonna
disconnect from the world. I feel like every day it's like we're constantly talking to this
person, emailing with this brand like all that stuff
and it's just constant. - Yeah. - So, I mean, even at like
7:30 last night we got an email from a brand like, Hey, just
checking in, blah, blah. I was just like, it's 7:30. We are not going to engage in that here. We are going to just
enjoy our time together. Play some games, eat some good
food and enjoy quality time. - Yay. I'm down for that peace out for now until, I don't know, we figure out what to do next. (whimsical music) - Guacamole is ready! - Oh yeah. - Take a bite. - Oh this is gonna be good Right on. (whimsical music) - So how do you feel
losing to me in chess? - I demolished you. - No, you didn't. - Yes I did. Don't even deny it. I think I lost what two pieces. - Okay. Don't be like that. You lost like five pieces. - Oh, maybe three. And then I gained one back. That was a hands down victory. - Oh my goodness. You ready to get in bed? - Yes. Yes. Let's, let's get in bed. I just want to get snugly. (chill music) - Wow. - Volleyball roll. - That's like military move right there. (grunting) - Parkour! - Ready? - I'm ready. You ready? - Yeah. - Is that where you want to be? - Yeah. - Hold on, spasming... (groaning) Stop! I get it! I get it. Okay. (groaning) Okay. Oh, let me stretch. - Get that stretch in. - Oh, much better. Okay. 1, 2, 3. 1, 2, 3. Oh! - One more. - Alright 1, 2, 3. All right, come here little one. Come here little one. - Are you about to read? - I am indeed. - What are you gonna read? - The Power of the Actor. - Oh, what's that about? - It's about the Chubbuck technique. It was recommended by
a, a writer/director. I figured I'd give it a read. It's supposed to be helpful for actors. I'm probably gonna fall
asleep in about five minutes. (laughter) - We'll see. Is that your phone? What are you doing? - Well, we said that we would
play games and we would read and the book of inspiration where it's like inspiring you to find ways to just have a chill, relaxing time. There's Sudoku puzzle. And I was like, wait a minute. I used to love doing Sudoku puzzles. - Hmm... - I used to love do, I love, I used to love to do Sudoku puzzles. And then I went on the app
store and I found the one that I used to play in high school. I was like, oh, I gotta, I gotta play it. So I'm playing a little Sudoku. - Okay. As long as you're
not on the internet. Is your airplane mode still on. - It's still on. You can see the little airplane symbol. - Okay. - If you don't believe me. - No I have my phone too.
Airplane mode is still on. It is 7:14, and so we decided it's
probably a good time to cook - Dinner time, baby. - All right. So we are,
what are we cooking? - We got chicken on deck. - Mmhmm. - We got green beans, right? - Mhmm. - And then rice. - Yup. - Yes. That's what we're having. - All right. - I remembered. - Yeah good job. And then we got lots and lots
and lots of fruit. All right, let's cook! (upbeat music) Dinner time! - It's dinner time. You can hear the fan going. It's working hard because
we had all the windows open. It's getting warm in here again. And this food looks delicious. - Ooh, chicken, greens and rice and Sophie's chowing
down on her dinner too. - This is good babe. Thank you! - Of course. I'm ready to dig in. (calm music) Good morning. - Good morning. - Hi - Morning dingus. What time is it? - Like 9 o'clock I think. - I'm gonna go back to sleep, then. - Oh my gosh. (chill music) (shower running) You're up and at'em. - Yeah, I'm just puzzling over here. Just puzzling. - I had to charge my phone because last night we played
rain noises all night. So it wouldn't be so quiet. - Yeah 'cause we were trying to figure out the thermostat and we we like to have the thing
blowing all night long for the the white noise. It kept getting like too
hot or too cold, depending on what we set it on. So we were just like, all
right, we have to put it on auto which means it's gonna turn off. And then we were like, all
right, well, we can't sleep in silence because that's just weird. So we played rain sounds all night long and it was right by my ear. So I felt like I was in
the middle of a hurricane. It was great! - All right. Well, this
morning we're gonna make what? French toast! French toast! - Yes. - I'm excited.
- Do you know how to make it? - I think so. - Oh, that's good, 'cause I don't. - All right. Let's figure it out. (upbeat music) - I think 'cause olive oil is like that. I put olive oil in the pan. - Okay. - You're not really in it. Cool. - Okay.
- You gotta give it a try now. - I just knocked one off. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That came out nice. I'm glad it did. It came out well with the oat milk too. I was nervous about that. - Well done babe. - Thank you. - In your little kitchenette,
you can do anything. It's so weird being
back where there's snow. We got so used to the LA weather. No snow, it's great! - I know. - But we did
put on like eight layers. - I know. - We should, we should be alright. Let's go. (calm music) - We're back. (elephant and trumpet noises) - Can you blow on that side? - Oh my gosh. - It's cold out there. My LA body's not ready for that anymore. - LA you said? LA? - I just got lightheaded
from all that blowing. - It's pretty cold out there. I'm glad we had like our coffee. I'm probably gonna make some of the tea because I want to like stay warm. - So our goal with the walk was to find
an accessible spot where we had nice scenic views. So we, we did like the whole
loop here and we found a spot. And as we were there, like
taking some pictures and stuff a man rolled up in his
truck and he stopped and he was just asking, Hey, like, what's the
access been like? - Yeah. How's your experience been? I'm pretty sure he was the groundskeeper. He was just asking, like making sure that things were going well for us. - Yeah. - And it's great 'cause this
location has the paved roads which allowed us to roll around. - Yeah. - And then that pathway was cleared for us even though there's
been some snowfall. - I think it's great. It's not the most accessible. I think if this table
here went up, that would that would help tremendously. I don't think it's great
for a power chair though. Cole's power chair would
be really tight in here. - It would be very tight.
It's working pretty well. - Yeah. - And it just makes me feel good that like the groundskeeper, the
person that's like responsible for keeping this place,
sees that someone is out here in a wheelchair enjoying the property. And so he thinks about that
next time there's snowfall. He's like, oh, well, you know, wheelchair people do come here. So let's, let's consider that and make sure we make it
accessible as possible. - Alright what are we gonna do next? - Chill? read? - Wipe off my eye, maybe? That was like right on my eyeball. Yeah. I wanna read, I
just started a new book. Two new books actually. I'm gonna play some Su- Stop! My eyeball. - Okay. -Get off me! - More? (calm music) Now it's starting to grow. - Yeah. There it goes. (fire crackling) - Hi. - Yeah. - That was pretty brutal out there. - Was it? You were busting it in
and out of the cabin. - Yeah.
- To get this all set up. Thank you.
- That was a lot. Of course. Alright, take a bite. - I'm gonna try a Brussels sprout first. - Okay hurry up. - They're round. Oh - Babe. - I lost, I lost a Brussels sprout. Yeah. I'm just gonna scoop. - How are they? - Mm. - Yeah. - It's got a smokiness to them. - Yeah. - Yeah. That's good. - Mm. Yeah. I do smell the smokiness. - You can tell it was over a fire. - That's good. - Mashed potatoes. Only thing not done over the fire. Hm. On point as always. - Yeah. - So good.
- And lemme cut your steak. (smooth jazz music) - All right. Oh yeah. - Is it good? - That's really juicy. Oh my goodness. Hmm. (smooth jazz music) - Good morning. Good morning. - Hi. - You ready to shower? - I don't know. I don't know if I am. How much hot water did you have? - I mean, I showered for a good, like six seven minutes of good hot water. - All right. Let's use our little
flimsy travel shower chair. - Yeah. Lemme show it. Okay. So this is our travel shower chair. We like it because it does
its job, but it's extremely flimsy. And so it's not our favorite. We did it in a way this
weekend to where he only has to use it one time
and one time only so... - Weekend? It's Wednesday. - Well, you know what I meant... All right. Let's get showering. Let's do it. Okay. It's a little loud
because all the fans are on. But while Cole is in the bathroom,
I'm gonna clean the cabin. So yeah, we're gonna do that. (brooding music) She's hiding. - We think that she's
been anxious with the wind 'cause like you can actually
feel the cabin moving with the wind right now. And when there's a big
gust that comes through she like looks out the window and then she snuggles
a little closer to us. - But I made us um, a quick lunch, a little snack. Got some guacamole! - Some guac baby. - Okay. Goin' through all the chips. Hmm. - Oh, oh. Oh wow. - Sorry. - I thought you faked me out. I love guac. - Good. - That's so good. So this
is gonna be our lunch. Yep. - We're just gonna sit
here, play some more games. Hang out. And eat guac! - I'm actually reading now. So, - Oh Cole's reading. you have game time. He's being a good boy. - I'll have library time. - Okay. (upbeat music) - I'm so much taller
than you. Oh, you're slouched. That's why.
- Yeah. I got little slouched. - Okay. - What time is it? - It is face mask time! It's 6 o'clock. And before I cook dinner,
I thought it'd be fun. If we do some face masks. We
have the 'Sooth Me' tea tree. Then we have 'Whoa,
that H2O' hydrating mask which also comes with some stuff. Detox with charcoal and volcanic ash. - Oooh, I think that's what I need. - Purifying pore mask. And then we have a soothing
mask 'Sun Bae" and then yeah we'll just do the one of these four. You see that. - It's black? - It says with charcoal. What do you think? - That makes sense... Looks like a Halloween mask. - Wheres the- there it is. Breathe through it. I can feel you holding your breath. - Okay. - Okay. Good job. - How long? - Oh, I don't know. 15 to 20 minutes. Step one. Apply this with gentle tapping motion. Oh, I'm supposed to put this on first. Oh, this is interesting. A lot of this stuff It said tapping motion. - Oh, I'm supposed to have a nose. - Yeah. I can fix it. - I can feel it working on my face. - Can you? - Mhmm. Can you? - It feels like cold. I guess so. Let's just relax. (chill music) - It's time? - Mhmm. - I was about to fall asleep
and my face is freezing. How do I look? - Well you gotta rub it in. - Wait, rub it in with my hands? - Yeah, the remaining. - Just like just rub it in. (pitched voice) - So shiny. - Yours is so shiny too. - Really? - How's it look. Zoom, zoom on in. Let's see. Look good! - How do you feel after that? - I feel good. I feel like I'm about to fall asleep. - Really? - Just got the shivers. - I took a nap. You didn't take a nap so I can see how you're
a little bit tired. - Yeah. Well you didn't sleep last night and I did sleep last night. That's a good point. You can see most of our time
here is spent just centered around sleeping and relaxing. - Yes. - Yeah. - We're just gonna cook dinner
now and probably go to bed and tomorrow we're gonna
wake up for the sunrise. So we're gonna sit at the
window and watch the sunrise. So we gotta get sleep for that. - An early night tonight and
then early morning tomorrow. And then we're getting outta here. Yeah. - I'm excited. - I'm excited too. - Alright you wanna cook
dinner and get to bed? - Yeah. - Yeah. I'm super hungry. Me too. Come up! - So close. Oh that's a good girl. - Oh, she's looking? - Yeah. - Well hello. You made it to the end of the video. Thanks for watching. - Appreciate you hanging out with us. As we spent this time in
the mountains together. We hope it served as a reminder to get out take a break and breathe. - Whether it's just for a few moments or a few days, we could
all use some rejuvenation. Love y'all! - Don't forget to like, comment, share subscribe and stay positive. (upbeat music)
