hello my name is t'keyah Blaney I'm from the flama nation my ancestral name is chickadee moe what's given to me by my grandfather today is International Day of awareness for missing and murdered indigenous women I raised my hands everyone's standing in this room who was wearing red I traveled a long way in from my territories fortunately did not happen II so I appreciate the visibility that you folks are bringing I think in celebrating biological diversity in celebrating indigenous protected areas and the the resurgence of that relationship between our land and indigenous people who belong to it we also need to be talking about our life givers not just our original life giver mother earth but the life givers of our communities our women so I'm going to be sharing the moments where some at the end we raise our fists in the air as a reminder for the missing and murdered indigenous women who are treated as disposable like our land when in fact they are what sustains our life and quickly before I do that I also do want to acknowledge that our our women are on the front lines comes to land degradation and when it comes to pollution when it comes to industry coming into our territories they are on the front lines the violence against our land is warfare against our women so this the woman's warrior song I would like to invite any women in the room and any folks who wish to be standing alongside me at this moment and sit alongside me to do so touch [Music] yeah yeah yeah oh yeah yeah field yeah oh yeah yeah yeah oh yeah [Music] Oh [Music] [Applause] [Applause]
