T-Pain Talks about CHANGES in the RADIO and the MUSIC industry

oh my goodness oh my goodness oh my god uh how is it that i created a sound for a new generation sound for an entire generation yet the music the the new [ __ ] doesn't play my music um because it's still good the the radio's not interested in actual good music it's about what you guys say you like and they're gonna keep playing that that's why you hear the same [ __ ] seven songs over and over again because it's the ones that got the most views because these goddamn 12 year olds just leave their youtube on repeat and they got all the [ __ ] views and [ __ ] and you know kids kids ain't got no problem with listening to [ __ ] over and over again and especially if it makes them cool oh my god oh my god i know i know people i know so many people that don't even like the artists they listen to but they got it on deck and ready to go if somebody else comes to their house and wants to hear it and they just play it because they think everybody else wants to hear it and not just give them more they hate the [ __ ] music but if somebody else comes to their house they're like well i guess i want to hear this and the same thing on the other side everybody else was like no nobody wanted to hear that we thought you listened to that because you liked it [Laughter] all the time yeah somebody said how often do people use radio now but i mean that's just me i didn't listen to it yeah let's do it a lot i listen to the [ __ ] what we've been listening to lately that oh fly satellite yeah the flight the satellite uh the [ __ ] 40 or something like that then and it's just like like not that long ago you'd get [ __ ] clowned and really talk bad about if your song sounded remotely remotely like anybody else's song yeah but now if your [ __ ] don't sound exactly like whoever had the last hit then you're not doing a good job it's the weirdest [ __ ] thing in the world and i don't understand it it's so weird it's so weird it's it's the craziest [ __ ] thing in the world it's just it's weird remember that remember that when you got when you got called a biter if you even like even if you said a line from from anything that sound close to another song or if your beat sounded the same as anything else or if your hook sounded kind of like anything else you got called a biter oh you biting you biting you a biter that [ __ ] was like it was a right real it was a sin to even remotely sound like anybody else and now that's all you can do yeah it's weird so the people that are standing out in the people that are different they're still that's still there i'm not trust me i'm not looking for radio recognition at all because i know what it's turned into and i know how i know how to get more plays on radio and it's it's as easy as paying for it and i don't want i'm not doing that that's what it is it's not about who has the better music now it's about who's willing to pay the most that's literally what the entire industry is right now if you if you got a record company or a manager or or you got a dope boy on your side that is willing to pay more than the next person to make your [ __ ] number one that's all it takes hundreds and fifties doesn't take anything [Music] it doesn't take anything so quinn said he only listens to ja rule and ashanti because his wife loves it that's that's how you do it right there but happy wife wet dick let's um let's figure out what we're doing here who listens to the radio anymore a lot of people do yeah a lot of people just because you and your seven friends don't [ __ ] listen to the radio that's it's different people do different things guys it's a lot of [ __ ] happening in the world that you don't know about it's [ __ ] it actually is [ __ ] happening outside your neighborhood you know or the [ __ ] food lion that you go to it's a lot of [ __ ] happening beyond that area you can you can you can just that's why radio still exists because they're getting paid a lot for a lot of [ __ ] it's okay it's okay it's okay no spotify no that's not radio that's just actual radio like the ones with the numbers [Laughter] all black deer
