Switched power meter goes unchecked for 12 years costing BC woman thousands

I've got Hydro Bills going back from the very beginning it's a good place to start this story June 2011 Liz bennel moved into this duplex and this is where the heat pump is immediately making some upgrades I like to try and be environmentally conscious and friendly and the sad thing is I've had zero benefit from that instead it was her neighbors seeing the savings all due to a simple mistake The Meters were switched while there were signs something wasn't quite right 400 and something and my heat pump is supposed to be saving me money bnell says BC Hydro repeatedly dismissed her concerns it wasn't until she installed these solar panels in March of last year that BC Hydro was alerted to the issue because they could see that the panels were feeding to the grid as they are designed to do but they're not feeding to my meter they're feeding to my neighbor's meter there a grave Injustice and I would like that to be corrected between the heat pump and solar panels Bol has invested $332,000 but hasn't seen a penny in savings she's offered to settle for $224,700 but BC Hydro has only credited her a portion of that a little over $5,000 for 12 years of overbuilt consumption this is my money that I have spent I don't want uh Hydro credit I actually want Fair compensation and I would like cash in my hand thank you very much according to BC hyro the credit is a reflection of how much bnell would have saved if the meters were correctly installed a situation they say is incredibly rare we're really really sorry that this has happened and we're going to take this away as a lesson learned to make sure that we improve our processes so that it doesn't happen again in the future it really is unbelievable in the meantime bnell is encouraging customers to make sure their meters are properly connected she plans to continue to fight her own battle in court I think they need to be held to account Kylie Stanton Global News
