Swedish Dumplings in a Zebra can

hi everyone my name is Emily and this is my channel and Melissa outdoor adventures today I'm out in the Swedish forest the sun is shining as you can see it's minus 6 so I'm going to make a Swedish dish called cocoa I think the best way to translate them will be dumplings because they are made of potatoes and flour and egg and so I've already made them in my kitchen so what you do is that you boil potatoes and then you let them get cold that's very important then you take this huge press thing which I don't know what you call in English and you put the potatoes in them and when you press the potatoes and then you add flour and in the original recipe you should add egg too but I don't eat eggs and then you also add salt which is very important otherwise it won't taste anything and then you make it like a like a door whatever you call it and then you fry some kind of no meat pork fat bacon or something I use ham and often you have onions too which you fry them with and then you put that in this little round brown bun we actually call them cocoa if I should translate that that's a body cake I don't know why and we call everything balls in Sweden but in this particular case we don't call it balls which would have been better potato balls but no we call them body cakes and anyway you can freeze them after you've done this and then and then take them with you when you're out on a hike and then just boil them before you go to bed or something and eat them right before it contains quite a lot of calories so it's good if you have been walking for in an entire day and you something but a lot of calories I made to not sure I'm going to eat too but I have them here and then I had my Lincoln silt Lingam Jam not the one I made in a video a year ago no I bought this in the store and then I have some butter too because that's also what you are you know you need to have that to dish too so I'm going to use my assembler can to boil the corium and the separate can is very good because it's very deep because you need a lot of water when you are boiling them and this is no look it's so shiny I bought it recently I got it in the mail yesterday and so I'm very excited to see how it works because I always wanted one and but I never bought one and now I have so no this is not a review I haven't got this for free at all I'm going to use my firebox I know it looks a bit it's not very clean now last time I use this was at my preschool with the children they were standing very very far away and I made a fire and then I use my blowpipe to blow in it and and I mean the flames were like a meter or two hi there kids just loved it and but I forgot to clean it so it's not very keen but anyway at least you know I've used it yes I have some bork from home and this time I'm actually going to do some cotton ball in the Vaseline because you're always telling me to do that and I don't haven't want to do that biggest I wanted to learn how to start fire with no materials or things you can find in a forest but now I'm not going to I mean it's not the fire making this video is about it's about again yay well that was quite easy I really really like this Bush Bush box because and I don't have to make a fireplace and I have control over there well over the fire the only thing you said I need very small sticks but anyway let's do this so I will put some water in here need about two liters and just hope I will or maybe not too late because I'm only using one or I will only cook one No okay maybe maybe just maybe I should use my gloves I don't want to burn myself it's this study now yes it is lovely and the recipes for those dumplings I will put in the video description so if you want to make them you can they I really recommend it because I like to taste I love them as a child to be interesting to see how long it takes for this water to start boiling because you know it's a bit cold outside today so this might take a little while it's okay I'm in no hurry like the can thank to oh whoops yes it's boiling now now I can put my dumplings in so now I have one of them in there and it's going to boil for a while now okay my hands are cold okay I will show you so you know my little okay you can't see so much good it's in here somewhere and when it starts to float it has to boil for five minutes so that's what I'm looking at and I think it's no it's not floating yet no it's floating now you just have to take five five minutes and then I can end it my cup coca is nearly done now it looks a bit bit done and got a bit beaten up when I carry it in my rucksack well as I told you you can freeze them before you go out so they will continue to be a bit around it's still round but it looks a bit a little bit sad really but it's okay and as I say when they start to float you have to boil them for five minutes and then they aren't fine so I will take this up any minute now but first I have to melt some butter and I will use this which comes with the can so I'm thinking maybe I should put this on top of this when it's boiling and then add the butter in it so I will do it as you know at the same time I will show you what I mean mmm-hmm some butter and snow yeah well this wasn't so one oh well that was a lot of butter okay okay I want to see you little dumpling thing oh okay wait I have to take I'll put you here in the forest isn't it's just lovely just it is now I'm going to taste it too I love this this is one of my absolute favorite dishes in Sweden anyway but I know you have similar in other countries too are usually no we have dumplings that are made on Ireland and another one this is made in a place called small islands so we have a small and scarib cockerel and lenska coffee now I'm going to continue to eat and then I'm going to get home and edit this video anyway thank you so much for watching this video I hope you enjoyed it and I have to say that I like my zebra can but it will be good to have metal clips instead of the one in plastic now it looks very black right they're shooting I know they word for it in English when it's black and it's tough and it's not shiny anymore so I will go home and clean it and I have as I said plans to bake in it in the future and I know some of you are waiting for me to try another gear I recently bought online which I put up on my facebook and just I'm going to use that one
