Surviving $5 VS $50,000 Vacation!

today my best friends and i are surviving on a 5 versus 50 000 vacation here in hawaii to see us spending more money equals more fun it definitely does not yes it does more money equals better experiences well we are about to find out matt you have the five dollar budget and maddie and i have the 50 000 budget and our house is right up there well i'm gonna have the best time on this five dollars we're gonna do so many more things than you what they don't know is that at the end of this we're gonna be taking a lie detector test to see which one is actually telling the truth maddie welcome to our home for the next 24 hours come check this out what do you think this place is huge i love it let me give you a tour maddie this is the dining room where we can have our meals order whatever we want can have it delivered right here this is our living room where we can relax after a day doing all these activities you're probably hungry look over here look at this giant kitchen there's a stove on the island so we can like cook while we look at the ocean in front of us the fridges look like the cabinets and there's two of them yep and it will be fully stocked when we get back how much does this place cost ten thousand dollars so we still have forty thousand dollars to spend before the day i mean we need to buy groceries okay but first we need to check out the view maddie look at this just breathe take it in if you have the ocean get to spend time together because in time okay but we also have to spend money and we will we are going on a giant shopping spree and there are a ton of huge stores that we get to what's together there's gucci there's tiffany ladies i have hawaii's finest apple cider for you we have a butler 2 500 is my day right oh my gosh i know aren't you excited we're gonna have so much fun we still have to spend more money cheers to spending fifty thousand dollars and having fun together just spending money all day long breakfast is waiting for you on your yacht i have to change we can't waste time your yacht attire is waiting for you in the car drink no we don't have time we fit on a yacht and then we have more money to spend i am just so glad that we get to have cousin time together are you ready ladies how did you get there so fast it's my job to always be ready okay butler money well spent damn fam let's go [Music] okay maddie so this is our boat and there is breakfast on it that we get to eat as we go out and then we're gonna go snorkeling i'm so excited it's gonna be so much fun with me having a baby and maddie focusing on school we really hadn't had much time to spend together so i was really excited for this vacation i had five dollars to spend today so i rented a tent i mean look at this how can you not have fun in a tent and guess what i found inside a fishing pole i am gonna have the most fun today because i'm gonna catch a fish and then i'm gonna eat it this day is pretty much golden let's go ahead and start fishing look maddie we get to have breakfast on a boat in the ocean in hawaii how much was the boat again so the boat was 3 000 and then it was an extra 500 for breakfast but definitely worth it this is gonna be so much fun cousins having breakfast i mean we've only spent 16 000 so far so there's like a lot more rich activities that we could definitely do like oh maybe we could go shopping okay yeah we can do all that but first let's enjoy this breakfast this is like a once in a lifetime opportunity cheers to getting to spend time together finally as cousins and friends cheers to money yeah but getting to do all these fun things together while spending money and this is fun yes this is fun but we gotta figure out the rest of things that we're gonna do throughout the day what if we go like snorkeling or parasailing or paddle boarding we can we can snorkel if we want a different type of snorkel gear it's an extra five hundred dollars though let's do it we're like giga rich for the day we're on a 50 000 vacation well i thought you didn't really want to go in the ocean over here i don't but if we have the money let's do it i'm down so obviously with our budget we're going to be able to do some shopping but i have an exciting way on how we're going to get there stay tuned because this is epic you are not going to want to miss this [Music] okay maddie so we're gonna go snorkeling and if we're just enjoying this we don't need to do the extreme one this is gonna be fun rebecca we should be spending money but not if we don't need to but we should be because we can is so far away oh don't worry about that maddie i've already arranged some really cool transportation whoa i got it guys we got a fish check this thing out okay 50 000 budget what i just caught a fish material things to actually remember experiences are fun i mean we're cousins we're getting to spend time together yeah but then they don't carry on with you after i mean we can actually take the shopping with us let's go gucci prada louis vuitton let's start a gucci okay come on come on wow what do you want to get here a purse sunglasses clothing we only have 19 000 left you're right we need to be strategic about this oh look at that sweater this is cute i like it but i think we need to keep looking there's a lot more to see same fam look how cute this one is i love it but 2200 honestly i just like spending time with maddie hey wilson how's it going how's your day what you don't need to have money to have fun right yeah we're having so much fun stop it wilson really same i think i have what there's this great ice cream spot perfect this is so fun but i want to eat and then we can go and spend more money so let's go have you kept track of how much we've spent so far yes we are almost we spend a lot do you know how much we spent i mean we spent a lot shopping but this is gonna be so much fun but it starts in 15 minutes so let's eat this and go i don't really need a massage right now we could just eat ice cream and enjoy the beautiful day here trust me you need a massage it is expensive and it is gonna be amazing more money equals more fun i thought shopping would be more fun but it felt like it was taking away the quality time that i was supposed to get to spend with maddie so we're now here at our massage the massage i booked for three thousand dollars there's one bed so why don't you go first okay perfect okay zam fam so i'm adding up the receipts from all the things that we have done so far including shopping and it looks like with this massage we have hit our budget we spent fifty thousand dollars already we don't have any more money we can just go back to our place and make it a netflix night i mean we've done so many fun things already i just have to break the news tomorrow i mean hopefully she's okay with this hey maddie how's the massage going it's good but i'm ordering some food to our villa uh we're ordering food yeah i'm hungry uh you know any money but she just spent 300 on food but you know what it's okay at the end of the day i just want to spend time with maddie so we'll just be able to eat and watch tv and no more money spent because all of the rest of this is coming out of my pocket wilson after getting to know you better i realized you belong in the sea i belong with friends and i have to eat some food too so i'm gonna let you free i have something i need to do and somewhere i need to go but we'll always have today don't tell rebecca have the best day ever wilson just like i am the food you ordered is ready enjoy luau we're in hawaii or we could lay out at the beach or hi get to talk to each other i mean there's so much that's been going on that that's so basic what if we did like a guided hike or something i thought i could do something a little more free i'm not doing my brussels sprouts oh um butler oh hold on matt what are you doing why are you eating my brussels sprouts i thought you were on the five dollar budget to be clear i didn't spend any money on this meal whoa whoa whoa whoa you said that you would have more fun on a five dollar budget yeah you are here eating our fifty thousand dollar fun that's so good it's so good i'm pretty sure this is matt's tent i do not want to stay in a tent it's the only shelter we have and it's really windy right now come on you ruined everything now we only have five dollars and we're staying in a tent maddie think about this this is just like camping like we used to do you know we never went camping together you smell maybe we would want to go camping it would be a fun experience we could just spend time together oh yeah with five dollars so much fun i want to be clear this is just a job i'm not having fun at all right now but i'm gonna have this food i'm gonna eat it hey wait what are you doing i mean food what are you doing aren't you the one who knocked me out no another guy i took care of him now is this your jacket where's the end of my shift i'm gonna need you to get out come on man what kind of baller did they hire this is the worst we could have been out of luba we could have gone paris sailing we could have been shopping no we couldn't have yeah because we only have five dollars no maddie because we spent the money what do you mean we spent the money we spent all fifty thousand dollars but we got food i paid for it why would you pay for the food forget about it hey forget about it rebecca come back rebecca what's wrong i thought this challenge would be a fun idea but clearly it's not and now you're mad at me and it's not going at all like i planned rebecca i'm not mad at you i just wanted to do this you're in college i have sadie now and it just doesn't feel like how it used to be with us i wanted to do something fun so we could have fun together and spend time maybe things aren't the same as they used to be but the day's not over yet we can still have some fun but we have no more money remember we spent it but we could make the fun the two of us like we would used to do really really i would love that so after both vacations i finally got what i wanted i got to spend time with the best cousin in the world maddie that was so much fun but now we need to get matt and get back to la why we're having so much fun we're meeting john and doing a lie detector test what we are back from our fifty thousand dollar versus five dollar vacation and now we're taking a lie detector test to see if you have more fun spending more money john are you ready did you have fun spending the fifty thousand dollars that was the worst why i had a little bit of fun okay it was kind of nice did you have fun with the five dollar vacation obviously yes why okay read me right john finally did you have fun on vacation isn't about the amount of money you have but the friends and the family you get to share it with and that i'm the only one that tells the truth that's a lie
