Surprised to see HS2 'Dominique' Launching Girder in moving action across the Colne Valley.

hello this is my video of the launching gerder that is building the viaduct crossing the Grand Union Canal for hs2 on its way across the K Valley and here we see it 2 hours later where it's move forward 40 m so let's go and have a look and see how they do that so from the bank of the Grand Union Canal we take a closer look at the lifting gerder that has been called do unique after the man who developed it it is used to lure into place concrete segments to form the spans of the viaduct here we see a new span halfway across the canal with the supporting peers either side of the canal the one on the far side is supporting the end of the gerder a temporary steel support has been used to support the gerder and then in in front of that two concrete segments have been lowed onto the pier these have to be secured to the pier through the large front leg with high strength cables before anything else can happen small front temporary leg has now been released so that everything is ready to move Dominique forward this so with the sound of the warning buzzers Dominique starts moving men are positioned at the main roller points to make sure that everything is going smoothly and the banner with the word Dominique on it slowly moves from left to right R Union canal and the top paath has now been opened to allow boats to pass to move the gerder they used the two traveling winches that would normally lift the concrete segments they are both positioned above the front pier and the large leg and then attached by still cables to the girder and then the forward motion of the crane is used to move the girder along the small temporary front leg is then moved out of the way thank you for watching this video please use the thumbs up button or the subscription button if you like this video I will leave links in the description box to other videos and interesting information on hs2 col Valley Viaduct
