look at him he is absolutely on a mission he's on a mission of night i've never seen him like this all right so we're here at siam echo and naobi and they all are super excited to go walking okay let me go in hello boy hey look my boy we're gonna i promise you we're gonna do something really cool in the enclosure my boy really cool okay hello sweetie pa yeah uh you're giving away the trick my boy the video is about something that you do and now you're giving the clue all right so first time in a long time i've been in the back of the vehicle with the group and just to see oh and remember what it's like i think i'm getting too old for this to be honest it's quite quite rough in the back but they don't seem to mind they actually enjoy it this is this is part of the fun uh going out on their little adventure and uh yeah driving past all the other animals oh she's not happy about him he's talking old icarus is talking and echo is been a real a real cow eh naobi's been sweet as normal and uh yeah so his old cyan what do you see there boy that's pretty cool in the back here yeah pretty cool okay so we've arrived at our destination we're gonna offload here and let the walk continue um i'm not going to focus too much on niobi and echo today because that's not really what this is about it's more about focusing on this uh gentleman and telling you all what makes this boy the one and only all right stand by for some crazy lions exiting and we're going to do that on the count of three two one yeah these lights are crazy crazy cats okay sure it's i am set off on a wonderful pace we're just gonna have to let him get over the excitement of of the walk it's always really exciting these guys actually haven't walked for a bit he's absolutely having a blast rolling around at something in me meet the one and only siam you're not gonna find another lion quite like him he's a character of note but he has one special in fact two special qualities that separate him from all the other lines of the sanctuary and makes him a special special line and you'll see hopefully what those two qualities are as we go along on our walk today and i've just left the girls uh to do their own thing naiobi and ekko just over over there somewhere over there you can just see them walking through the bush you can actually hear them while i wait for siam to join me back on the road after he's finished rolling around in the pheromones here he comes [Music] happy cat happy happy cat oh he's on form today old time where you going boy oh walking around in circles [Music] [Music] and that is what i was trying to and that's what i'm trying to demonstrate with this guy this guy is siam the pheromone boy and he's demonstrating this perfectly so what this lion absolutely goes crazy for is smells and so he is the one and only lion that reacts like this to different smells i mean this is a worry bush and he is absolutely getting that smell all over him but it is because of the fact that i gave him a little bit of the catnip and he uh you've seen it before maybe in other videos that i've done where he slobbers like a dog all over your hand once he smells catnip and he he goes absolutely nuts for catnip so this guy is a lion that is just his nose is in tune to smells i have not seen or met another lion in the sanctuary that is more is switched on when it comes to smells and you can see here he's demonstrating that again so mr mr lover boy he is um so in tune with with those those scents i should have used him in the sense and sensibilities episodes that we did because of his reaction so when you spray mr siam with citronella spray or you give him some catnip this lion goes absolutely berserk for those scenes he's extremely excited about today's walk he's like kev it's been ages you know so i'm very happy i had a a bit of a choice of of animals to choose from today and uh he just kept on popping back into my mind uh almost as early as speaking to me saying listen but it's my turn and uh look at him he is absolutely on a mission he's on a mission of note i've never seen him like this hey look at that energy hey running off the scion never thought i'd be saying that [Music] marking scenting marking smelling [Music] next bush next bush happy cat happy cat so the one and only siam i've not met another lion who reacts to sense like he does there are sure there are other cats in the sen in the sanctuary who when you spray them with citronella spray or present them with catnip they react um i'll tell i'll give you an example bobcat bobcat loves since gandalf gandolf loves sense uh siam he just trumps them okay what's the other great thing about siam siam must be the most chill lion in the sanctuary so he he takes the prize on two occasions um in the new series the one and only meet the one and only siam the most chilled cat at the sanctuary the in terms of the male lines we've also got we'll also do the exercise for the females the lionesses but in terms of the lions this is the most chilled line you will ever meet in all the years i've known him close to 15 years siam has his temperament just does not waver okay so that's what signs me wanting to do he's coming up here he's wanting to check out all the lions on the other side just look at his nose the way he's sniffing and flaring his lip he's scenting very sensitive descent is salivating everywhere tongue moving backwards and forwards in the mouth it's trying to dissipate some heat okay boy he is not convinced that the lions on the other side there are not in an enclosure so he thinks that that archer in this enclosure with him in this area so look how he's circling around okay because of his passive nature he's not a lion that thrives on confrontation so he's not happy about confrontation um he doesn't want to he doesn't want to um have to go and confront those lines and he's not sure if that if they're behind a fence or not which is which is wise i mean if he was out in the wild that would be a very smart thing to do self-preservation and some lions in the wild will survive due to that tactic and others will absolutely lions like bobcat will confront confront confront look at this that behavior the sphinx what's interesting about siam is the fact that he doesn't just jump in the deep end he actually thinks about things that's what i love about him so besides being a catnip addict he's also quite a cautious cat which is yeah um i suppose the the phrase curiosity killed the cat doesn't apply to cyan because he's a little bit smarter than that so siam passive even-tempered smart and a catnip addict what a cat okay and after all of that here we are at the boundary and uh nothing so all of that stalking and now he's not even not even too concerned okay still not entirely happy face says it all oh okay he's talking now oh oh he's not entirely happy with that look oh that look that look says it all and the eye's gonna go up and down that's what we do hey look at us now we you know he's talking calling calling he's calling the girls he wants some uh he wants some backup here why must i do this on my own he's saying look at them there's a pride of six okay like that it's all over but thor and charlie are not happy cats and siam is also oh and here comes the here comes the backup here comes the backer echo got that look on her face oh she's cross oh look at that face look at that face you don't get a madder looking face than that if you're a lion oh those ears are pinned back oh not a happy cat look at that um how does the saying go good fences make good neighbors i think in this case i tend to agree with that definitely good fences are making for good neighbours because often i'm asked the question if why didn't i just put all the lines together hopefully this demonstrates why we don't do that it would be an absolute blood bath just uh loaded ekko naobi scymes now mr smeledict is now after all of that uh adrenaline is now rolling in the pheromone good when she starts to think about food then we can think about loading yeah yeah okay so there was a interesting end to a lovely walk really had a good time up until the point where they decided to go and cause trouble now what i found particularly interesting was they're talking about time's calm personality but um certainly those six lions managed to rile him up he's normally so chilled but back to his chilled self uh there he is back to his child self not really ah not really worrying about not really worrying about anything in this world how funny uh the three of them don't even react to george and yami the reason being is that they are neighbors as the current configuration in the sanctuary lies so neighbor on the one side's buongani and suja on the other side it's george and yami so they are completely not even perturbed and flattered by them just so interesting how the dynamics work uh while i have the opportunity i would just like to thank you
