Super Smash Bros Ultimate - Gameplay Walkthrough Part 1 - Mario! Spirits & Classic (Nintendo Switch)

what's up guys zac Scott here playing Super Smash Bros ultimate for the Nintendo switch I can't wait to showcase gameplay of all the modes and all characters hopefully Kirby can save the day thanks to you guys my channel has exploded in popularity lately my first episode of Super Smash Bros for the Wii U has over 4 million views and that's all thanks to you leaving over 34,000 likes I would be thrilled to this video guy anywhere close so thanks in advance for any likes and comments you can give me on this video series also thank you for subscribing we just hit three point three million games you'd like to see me play in the future now without further ado let's play Super Smash Bros ultimate here we go alright guys we're gonna have a huge variety we're gonna start with spirits mode and we're gonna do classic mode and then some online mode I am so excited and ready to get this started so let's go in to the world of light adventure here I'm gonna start a new game normal breeze through it I think there's gonna be a cool cutscene here let's see I think so because it starts off with Fox right yes and team let a single one get away all right exciting now we've seen some of these scenes in trailers and one time look at all those hands give him a hand ladies and gentlemen I know what they're all doing they're all coming to click the subscribe button on my channel it's now or never we win this I know we will oh they bet they click the like button oh dear this is worse than bad house it's like everyone even Zim thought they could hide doing your yoga right your Wii Fit exercises right there here it is it's our Savior he's the only one to make it through the woods it's the whole galaxy thus the universe was crushed in the hands of Gollum those who fought the light were devoured the others lost their bodies and became spirits but it's Kirby he's okay only one survived that's why I was seeing worse in Thanos not even half a Star of Hope twinkles faintly as the dust settles on a new world a beautiful new world they're right and it's all Kirby's world of light all right you guys excited I'm excited don't worry we're gonna do this mode for a little bit then we're gonna switch it up to classic and then switch it to some online battles I'm gonna try to get through a lot of variety in this game and Mario is not looking so good molten Mario is what I would call him this is how they make amiibo maybe it is gallium copied the following fighters creating empty puppets and their likenesses yep amiibo then gleam forced the captive spirits to pull the puppet strings oh dear No so we've seen a lot of these scenes already there's army a puppet fighters spread themselves across the last remaining world can anyone free the spirits from Gilliam's control Kirby Kirby can hopefully is there any hope for the Fallen fighters it's Kirby Kirby's your hope I'm telling you there it is the journey to defeat galine begins all right I'm pretty excited let's see how this goes yeah we've seen a lot of these scenes in the trailers and whatnot if you guys have been watching those but I wouldn't let them in because you know it's part of the game now so here we go where are we going huh all the way up there now this is gonna be spread over several episodes don't mistake sent me to get it all done today in fact we're gonna do just a little bit of this up until I unlock a couple characters or so or one character and then we're gonna move on to classic mode and then online so smoky prog let's do it here we go spirits spirits are beings whose bodies have been claimed by Kaleem the Lord of Light Kaleem traps of spirits within puppet fighters and forces them to do his bidding when you defeat a puppet fighter you'll free the spirit trapped within it free as many spirits as you can primary spirits can raise your fighters attack and defense stats you'll want to first select your primary spirit okay oh here we go against Mario ah so the enemy will occasionally turn metal okay that's a cool rule let's uh so it's my party I got to pick a spirit is that what we're gonna do at first okay so spirits I have you the time flamenco all right okay yep that's the one that's the one I want support do we have any I don't have any support on flamenco okay uh looks good to me let's go let's go in oh here we go Mario let's do it I'm ready now it's been a while I'll admit it's been a while since I played it like any smash game there you go metal shift what happens if he's metal is it oh yeah oh yeah metal shift again hammer time Oh can I have this can I have this there you go get out of here son if you got to pick up these items there we go come on get out of here get out of here there we go got him victory right there all right unlocked smoky Prague all right got a lot of cool stuff including some snacks don flamenco is like suddenly level 9 with act all right well so I locked him rescued spirits will join your cause each spirit is different and each can help you in its own way if a primary spirit has an open slot you can attach a support spirit to it supports have special skills so experimenting with different spirit combinations is in your best interest okay kink a rule piledriver downward throw okay that was just okay was that during a load screen or something alright there we go Eevee okay interesting and okay Oh confused we're fine let's go let's just go in let's fight so we're fighting Yoshi and he has an Eevee spirit is that how it works sure well it's like okay it's both oh oh black me I'm in a ball hey no more no more Yoshi's come on who said you more could join [Applause] give me that darn it Wow [Music] now oh he's just gone he's just gone right come at me come on where you going where you going with this [Music] I'm Yoshi now goodbye not yet give me the hamburger [Music] when are you gonna leave Yoshi get out of here you're uninvited okay there we go got him victory I defeated three Yoshi's okay an Eevee was the spirit that was unlocked okay I got it I understand now it's awful because level 16 already with that all right so we're having pretty pretty much a good time here right I think so I do appreciate you tuning in for watching this series you guys have been supporting my channel for a long long time Celeste this one indie game of the year right let's sing at my party now if I can put in how do I do this a little confused so I can put in okay you know right equipped I'm gonna he's gonna take a while for me to learn some of this stuff can I have them both slots no I let's fight alright jigglypuff with a celeste spirit okay I'm ready oh I started with that I just completely wasted it oh no wake up how about that [Music] give me that give me that no oh [Music] victory over Jigglypuff now the first few rounds are gonna be easy and the Celeste spirit has been acquired so that's eight rewards that's pretty good right so let me go ahead and equip the other spirit and we'll see what what kind of bonuses I get I guess I'll keep don flamenco is my number one so some of the fog is cleared ooh what does this appear Mario as this the Mario spirit okay fighter battle the captive fighters are being copied to create puppet fighters the only way to free them from Gilliam's control is to defeat them in battle so okay Mario I can rescue him here right here right now I have another guess Alesso just go and drop that item gravitations that mean items are gonna be sucked in towards me I don't know that's how I just interpret that by briefly reading it Mario Mario and then after this I think I can be Mario right okay yep this is second time oh that's for you Mario no oh oh cute come here Mario he's a little bit tougher than I oh out get out of here Mario there you go boom aho hit him hard with the hammer did you see that that was super cool Mario joins the battle now awesome okay well this is what I'm excited about because now I get to beat Mario and we'll play a little bit more of this mode and so let's see how to switch characters here so let's see so now that I've recruited Mario what ends up happening so you can change if the fighter you want to play as in the party menu okay so next time we go up against someone will get to make that choice alright so a peer guardian ooh nice so let's look at the party menu it's a guardian spirit right so fighter we go up we select this right so do that right I hope it do that right yes okay so now we can not ready to fight sure oh no I'm not no what am I do it okay no okay it's a fighter here we go I got confused I thought this is like Mario was ready to fight but no um alright so how do i oh whoa lets me switch in curbing skins here alright how do i how do i like there we go that's how you do it ok there we go Mario and what kind of skins oh he has look at the costume so he has the the Super Mario Odyssey skin right there I'm Mario maker skin he has uh like almost like a warrior almost like a Luigi skin black and white uh-huh all-american skin let's just be normal for now I'm good I'm ready to find I guess I'll keep the same spirits we're gonna get a guardian spirit well learn what these spirits do dahm flamenco I mean he's so powerful right now why would I not keep him there I don't know plus he looks good here we go I'm not sure what to do giant rob with a guardian spirit oh yeah I'm ready Wow we're at the bat you dork oh man this is not good I like my cape move here we go Wow uh-oh this is bad this is bad wait can I have that how do I grab that okay okay hold on there we go got it darn it ah you missed your laser and I got you whoo that was a close one that was a close one and then the guardian spirit weapon resist up again that's gonna take me a while to like really comb through and figure out like the best spirit combinations but the good thing is since I'm making videos and you guys are watching you guys can leave me comments I do read my comments at least for the first day or two and I take it into consideration and do what I do in a lot of games that I play you've seen that in Pokemon that I've been playing you see that in plants vs. zombies garden warfare I listen to you guys so let me know like what kind of spirit combinations you would like to see what characters you want to see me play next because this episode I'm gonna go to the classic mode with Mario we're gonna have fun with that and and we're also I'm gonna play as Mario online I like to focus just so that there's a lot of variety in my series I like to focus on an individual character each episode so that's how I like to do all right fighters weighted each into the cross road ahead consider carefully consider which fighter to awaken first okay Marth would be that way I guess she could be that way and villager I think I want to unlock villager next right I don't know what do you think did we unlock all the fighters through here or what I don't really know what the answer to that is villager I don't know um sure let's go for villager maybe is this how this works there are four times two primary spirits attack shield grab a neutral and then that's the order Thanks so villager so do i unlock him right now see I don't really know how this works overall but I'm gonna be good here we go let's fight basically I learn along with you guys and a lot of people out sometimes ask how come like I don't know things it's because well there's two reasons one I play a ton of games but two furthermore its oh cool look at that oh that's nice but furthermore a lot of times you guys are further ahead in games than I am because I play and I upload and I you know maybe only record a few hours a day but you guys play like even more day Oh kind of super quick like that so do I like villager now to my party villager joins the battle okay okay I get it I get it level up so do I gotta continue going down that path entirely or adventure skills you skill spheres to unlock skills that will aid you in your adventure go to the skill tree to the menu to get started uh okay the era is starting to add some levels of complexity here now should I go oh oh what oh he's over there blocking off that path okay cuz I just added a new character I see so let's take a look here so if I look at the menu it wanted me look at skill tree right and tilt attack slightly creases the power of tilted tax neutral attacks huh let's just get this one then boom got it I used up all my points so I'm happy with that I tend to use tilt attacks a little bit more often and so I think it wants us to go down uh this this road here manage spirits Oh level up what the heck I can level up spirits when they seem to level up on their own oh but feets next two primary spirits in order to increase their levels quickly some spirits won't realize their true potential until they reach level 99 Donny Donny boy hey we could switch to EB though right oh I don't have any do I how I do so I can actually feed him some of these oh wow level 43 level 50 holy cow get these snacks level 60 I don't know if I want to you know I might want to save some for other characters I don't know but don flamenco is is now okay okay cool let's continue this way just for a little bit okay Wendy here I'm okay with spirits let's continue fighting Wendy okay I'm ready I'm ready ow she's drilling me okay now I'm getting really hurt okay get out of here all right so far so good out get out of here oh no aah oh geez come on get out of here oh she's out of her vehicle haha hit her come on tell me she can't recover she can't recover perfect victory alright Tron bonne nice levelled up me and Dom flamingoes gonna get $2.99 so I'll get him $2.99 first I think before switching to any other spirits just to see what happens I don't know all right and this opens up a whole new cloud oh wow wow it's like a Mario Kart racetrack octiline oh wow okay yeah yeah let's let's do it here we go you you're at a spirit type disadvantage what fight anyway what the spirit type dissipate I don't understand how am I at a spirit type disadvantage can I ought oh okay select this okay suggestion oh really okay this is what it wants me to use okay okay this one takes it to the Guardian T's up two spots okay so this is what they want me to do okay so I won't be just grinding out don flamenco yet and once we use Tron bond because now I'm at a spirit type advantage I guess there's an octiline spirit inkling team this is a stamina battle oh geez what the heck look at all the ink sorry this is a mess I'm covered in ink what do I do tonight I'm totally covered in ink I'm not feeling up to this this is not okay I was gonna try to blast oh nice get out of here okay hold on hold on scuse me get out of here get out of here get out of here Oh am I out I guess so nice finally got one there here we go two at once awesome and we got the octiline spirits and I'm guessing Tron bonne levels up a lot level 13 nice alright well we've been having a lot of fun with this this is pretty awesome um so what how much farther do I go I mean this is like a whole quart right wow it sure is oh my gosh this is big and it makes me wonder you know like how far do I take this because I do want to showcase the classic mode Oh Bayonetta with a jury spirit so my party right now am I still at a disadvantage so what happens what is it gonna recommend if I do the recommendation her really okay and then okay this is quite interesting I like I like you know I like the auto recommendation system because it helps me not have to think about it too hard yes [Music] [Music] gotcha oh man [Music] no that's mine I want that there we go I was in a spam it oh no get rid No oh she got me that time not good not good I got a beat it in but it's their rematch okay okay I gotta get serious about this then all right got it haha oh boy no no come on yeah I got come on come on this has been a hard fight come on no I'm back up oh nice let go that gun no yes that was so close I fought her so many times oh boy okay that was really tough fight I did fight her a lot finally beat her nice doctor wing level up to 23 so um hey let's call that a good stopping point for this particular mode like I said I want to cram in as much variety at least in this first episode as possible if you have any ideas on what kind of game structure you want to see next episode let me know but for now we're gonna hit the menu we get to how do I get out of here how do I just leave how do I leave the area let's find out how do these options save there we go sure save got it and then how do I get out of this place I leave this game mode please know normals fine [Music] I don't know oh there we go got it okay all right so there we go we are now going to whoa a new foa's appeared challenge your approaching hello to you an S all right so I gotta fight em all right I got to fight him right come here come here come down here I love it I like the stage oh this is roster ness joins the battle super cool so look at that map oh I got it map oh and I got some snacks okay great nice is it just a picture what is that alright how do i back up let's go to milestones plate adventure for the first time I did indeed fighters pass now on sale I already have this I don't know why it's advertising it to me but I did buy the fighters pass maybe it's advertising to me for the people who are watching via video so you know I didn't mean it that so that you guys know fighter pass ok let's jump into classic mode classic mode is you know what I would do on the Wii U and the 3ds versions in classic mode each fighter sets off on a unique adventure can you win all 6 battles and defeat the boss maybe not but the higher the intensity of the greater the challenge and the reward we're not gonna do anything too high right now we're gonna keep it kind of easy just you know so I can get warmed up so you guys can get warm w you don't want to see anything too intense now to you you probably do but hey let's be classy oh these are the only characters I can choose from I don't know maybe so we'll go ahead and choose Mario exactly here we go I love that painting intensity to I feel like I could do a little better like maybe two point five at least I'm bumping it up a little right let's go let's see what Mario story is like in this mode round one link in Zelda I guess I'm ready hey guys okay hold on this would be a good time for me to actually like practice and learn some moves uh can I have that out darn it you dorks I got them pretty quick man I love the graphics on this this is great alright nice play thank you no oh oh shoot it's going up in intensity okay so maybe I could have just started it to it we've been fine Kirby Meta Knight and King Dedede it's a free-for-all so I can let them kill each other right now now no they're killing me hey guys don't team up Oh Mike help get me out here seriously what the heck dude okay I like that coin hit oh man there we go is he gone he's gone I'm gonna let them kind of figure out what they want to do with this and I'm also gonna lob fireballs at them of course no what the heck can I have that oh how do I for the for the finale the smash move right there that was so cool intensity 3.2 come on stop adding intensity i alright Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong it's not a free-for-all is it this is me versus them threatens to swallow you run to the right to escape that's easy oh my god but wait how much to the right that's a lot all right I don't know what I'm doing okay that looks the electric maybe I don't oh wow they're just shutting me out they're shutting me out don't shut me out how do I get in there how do I get in there so like a secret to getting in can I break through the walls like I said I might as well be considered a smash noob at this point it's been so long well that's nice okay complete I'll take it complete I'll take it complete I have a feeling you guys gonna give me giving me a Gigot bouncer is Giga gone Giga Bowser is truly frightening oh man okay well how about that final round clear is that really the end do I get to fight the hand thing or whatever maybe so intensity's went up nope nice work final results okay I'm happy with that you know we're slowly but surely going through and and showcasing what I can I'm gonna be reading your comments we got staff credits awesome oh nice whoa it's like a little mini game here wait am i shooting oh I'm supposed to shoot them never mind I was crashing into them okay this is cool oh gosh oh my gosh okay this is fun this is fun you so you're gonna want to save through the credits definitely [Music] because I think the more I complete the more gifts I'll get I can charge that big-time whoa I'm not hitting all their names everybody hit another checkpoint here what's going on what's going on what's at this checkpoint can't believe I'm just crashing into them as if that was what I was supposed to do so yeah each checkpoint you you get you get a gift and so they're gonna make you want to go through the credits here I believe oh did I I think it took some damage here we go who's next who's next so yeah after this I'm gonna play some online battles so far I've had a tremendous time with the scan this is awesome thing supposed to dodge these rocks all right what there we go hahaha gotta love it right oh whoa okay watch out for this I can't hit every name yet I wonder if you get more power-ups through this mode like the more you play or the more often who knows it'll be really cool I'm gonna charge up for another blast love it play a coke oh I got hurt I got hurt I got hurt I can't even read all of these things I'm shooting all the names here we go charge up again [Music] beautiful work I would have had like a boss fight at the end of this that would be really cool we're almost save to the next gift [Music] all right we got the gift so what does this mean for us [Music] good bye should nitendo alright that was awesome super cool thank you alright so now we're gonna do some online gameplay unlock Mario fighter spirit T Hawk shy guy master there's so many things we're gonna be getting into what this games all own new foe has appeared challenge you're approaching its sonic right I gotta beat him first Sonic we're classic rivals it's so cool though that thanks to the game like this we could play together I don't know which is what the first smashing him to have sonic but I mean this smash has revolved into something really awesome [Music] come here so there's Knuckles running in the background you see that sorry Sonic oh I thought I thought it knocked him out oh wow okay okay I see how we're gonna play this okay okay but what if Sonic were to beat me what he does not join the battle he'd be like nah there we go got him there though Wow Sonic joins a battle okay holy cow classic mode Chateau Agatha okay classic ticket get more rewards in classic mode or spin it on a rematch I probably never spending on a rematch [Music] looking at what artwork is this don't even know all right Kirk they're cleared classic mode for the first time all right ready to fight so yeah we've got a lot of characters now who's gonna make it to the episode - I don't know let me know how do I ready to fight no I'm not let me know which of these you want to see featured next episode and I'll show it then maybe villager maybe Kirby maybe Sonic maybe Ness who knows let me know in the comments below but for now we're going to back out of here and do some online mode find out what that's all about online and if you if you want to see any other modes let me know as well icon Zack Scott taunt but what my collar is more like a green and my icon hmm and it wasn't really ready to pick an icon but let's see here who do we got who every guy I could be something splatoon related do they have any octolings let's see okay taking a look through all these I don't know what I want to do it could be something pixelated that would kind of make sense look at all sorts of stuff going on here can I be my me is like there is there me anyway I don't see you me anywhere oh hey I could be how about this there we go sure why not is for now taught message okay I don't really care let's save it and then I guess we're going into online play smashed respect it let's smash quick play why not right we're just gonna play a few rounds of this so you guys can see what it's like again I'm trying to put as much variety into this episode as possible so thank you guys so much for tuning in solo mode I don't care about no rules and I probably be Amara Hill solo battle because there's just just me here we go all right so let's see what happens is it gonna pair me up with someone Yoshi's Story oh no oh no we're waiting yeah yeah this is me whoa I forgot I could choose my my outfit here so we have four people ready get out of here I'm burning your suit Mario I'm ready too I gotta press anything or we just ready ready already gotcha I don't even know if I should try to win one of these because I don't know the cuts the smash players are serious man they are real good sometimes and I can't promise that I'll be real real good at any time for that game I oh man this is a little bit of lag he's on my team right is this team it means we have blue and red there's a truck get in we're 20 animal crossing there we go what is this what's going on another truck that's my truck he's still driving around oh my gosh ow ow geez he got me man there's a bit of lag too so I'm assuming we all have to deal with this but I mean I'm not in good physicians oh I'm gone I think no I'm back I'm seriously gone yet now right I think so oh geez [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] I'm big out there we go we got some of him [Music] I'll send you an uppercut am i okay I think I died again where the heck am I [Music] this is hard oh that was mean another - one [Music] okay okay time so yeah I think their team did better just gonna say cuz I died a lot but we won I thought they did better but we won okay so that's a little bit of online play there again just trying to put in as much variety as possible I can't believe we won it must have been Kirby doing all the heavy lifting there I don't really know oh I had four Kos okay rematch NAT I'm good I'm good like I said I just wanted to kind of cap it off with a little bit of online I'm glad I won that one so guys what do you want to see next time which characters which modes do you want me to emphasize more than others let me know in the comments
