SUPER HOT SMOKELESS FIRE PIT - DIY Under $200! SLOWMO PROOF!

entire pit is coming up in flames there it goes look at it oh my god this is so cool that is really cool it's really nice all right so the way the smokeless fire pit works here is that you will have air coming in the bottom and a little bit of that feeds the main fire that'll get it started but then the secondary burn happens by letting some of this air come up the side here and it'll get warmed up by the steel ring then by the time it reaches up here that air with oxygen is super hot and it gets projected into the flame for a secondary burn which then clears up any of the smoke and remaining fuel in the air and you'll just get very little bits of smoke coming out of the top these holes at the top needs to be fairly small you can't just throw like one-inch holes in there otherwise you won't have sufficient pressure and the air will just kind of like trickle it'll just kind of rise up here whereas if you have a smaller hole this hot air will be projected further into the flame and once it gets about here then you'll have more combustion happening so the idea is to say go with half inch holes i think maybe down here we'll just have eight separate holes at each corner just to feed the fire down below but then at the top it's uh we'll do like every two inch on center it will just do all the way around much more densely whereas down here it'll probably just be something like that all right so i picked up this three foot galvanized ring from tractor supply and yes the galvanized layer will burn off in the first fire and it'll be fine but the purpose of this is so that i can drill holes in the side and have it heat up the air before i get it dumped back into the ring to make these holes i'm going to use a half inch step bit i'm going to mark every two inches around the top of the ring and then do eight of them spaced equally at the bottom of the ring so there's this line that goes right around the edge here and i'm going to basically follow this right here and i'm going to mark here then every two inches on either side i'm going to go ahead and draw a line now i'm also going to mark the bottom of it and i think my goal here is to come at least about an inch and a half up from the bottom so that it doesn't get buried i don't want the ashes to build up next to this vent hole do a dot here then make another hole on the opposite side of the ring this baby chooches one down lots more to go so for anyone wondering i'm using milwaukee's black oxide stepper bit that's optimized for high speed drills so i basically put it at a number two and i just go full throttle all right we're done with the top holes i just need the bottom ones now so since i don't have to i'm going to see if i can avoid putting a hole right here on the seam i kind of had to over there to make it even oh that's hot and this is what we got [Music] let's see that looks kind of leveled so i think we're gonna put the fire pit right about right about here it's kind of the most level place of the yard that um lets me not do as much digging as possible so i think i'm gonna start by taking the stones and putting it around here to get the right diameter first then i'll start leveling it that way it comes up even with the ground so for the bottom i want to leave at least like an inch between the rock and the ring the idea behind this is that the bottom layer is where the air comes through so this is stepped out a little bit to allow about a half inch gap in the back here then this top layer is set further back so that there is no more gap to let any further cold air in [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] it's entirely it goes out right into the edge there's no wood out there [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] okay so the fire last night was great and all but there was a lot of leakage the air wasn't coming through these vent holes like i envisioned it to be instead it would come through the gap between the ring and the stones on the top so i lifted the ring added some rocks underneath now that this gap is now closed then i also mortared these stones together so that the gap in between the stones are also removed there's a lot better of a seal and when the air heats up now it should project further into the fire for an even better burn we'll see what happens tonight okay all right so before we get this going make sure to hit that like button because if you're still watching you probably like this video so go ahead tap that like button really helps me out okay [Music] thanks [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] all right so that's how you make a really cool fire pit like this everything burnt down to nothing but ashes and overall it was really really hot fire so go ahead give it a shot try your best and uh oh shoot shoes melting anyways like comment subscribe i'll see you guys next time bye thank you
