just bring it back there we go dog gone it was a good fish folks i just lost a big one let's see oh my my my boy that just tore me up and i got spider webs on here oh darn that was a good one that would have been the big fish of the day i've caught some pretty good crappie but not oh let's get him out there that's a good fish right there folks look at there what a fish well good morning folks it's richard gene the fishing machine here [Music] currently the surface temperature is 71 degrees on top it's 55 degrees right now uh today's high is gonna be around 79 or 80. today we're going to be doing some crappie fishing one of my favorite techniques is skipping right now i'm catching some good fish now actually i'm catching some big crappie my intentions this morning was to run down river quite a ways and explore some areas that i don't know anything about i do a lot of that i do a lot of exploring but for right now we're gonna fish a couple dogs until this fog lifts before i'm gonna go down the river so stay with me a few minutes and let's see what we do whoa okay i don't see anybody woke up right here folks but what i'm gonna start off with is a cajun cricket this is a bobby garland two inch bait right here um uh it's sort of a loud color but the water clarity isn't real clear right here so there'd be a good one to start off with four pound line right here tied with a palomar knot this is a weedless jig make on myself six foot eagle claw im7 graphite rod light action with a cadence reel this is the cs10 whoa let's get out of it okay whoa i'm talking about there we go man that fish knocked the fire out of it had a big pontoon boat come by folks and there we go that's a black crappie i tell you there's nothing like fishing water that you've never fished before and trying to figure out how to catch these fish let's let him go all these fish the last few that i've caught have been four or five feet below the surface on ten foot dogs most of the dogs that i've been fishing has been around 10 feet but let's let's let him go go back i'm using different colors i don't even know the name of this one right here i have no idea it's a new color by bobby garland it's got pink a little yellow and white in it it just looks good in the water i thought my goodness it looks good let's try it oh man if it looks good to you use it by all means let's back off of this dock i'm gonna fish it just a little bit longer to see if we can catch another one now i'm at four feet and all i was doing right there was just jigging that jig right beside the post picking it up letting it fall i mean that jig's right up against the post and that crappie just picked it up picked it off of the side of that post that's another good way to trigger bites what they're doing right now was hitting a bad thing they're pulling the heck out of water and it's hard for me to to really work this jig like i need to but that's the sport of fishing let's get it back up under there let it fall around five feet bring it back really slow [Music] stop it let it fall [Music] stop it let it fall that's how i've been triggering some of these fish today to buy it water is five feet right here it ain't very deep at all so i'm fishing around two and a half three feet deep just bringing it back slow steady every once while i'll stop it and let it fall that's been the trick today catching a lot of these fish i've caught a ton of little ones there we go my my my that fish hit way off the dock that's a good fish right there good fish folks i changed colors once again that's a good black crappie right there this is the cajun cricket that i started off with this morning they like it that's not good fish let's let her go my goodness i'm gonna turn around there and see if i can't catch her another let's let him go we i'm talking about whoa a lot of times crappie loves bright colors like this let's get that bait back up under there they love love it love it love it now he don't want me fishing this dog it's tall now that's an aggressive individual gonna get on out of here that little devil right there is mean let's look at him he would eat me alive he was in this boat right here let's go over here and catch another just bring it really slow and steady watch for that line to thump there we go got you didn't you thumped it one time too many times that's a pretty good fish too yep sometimes they'll thump it or thump at it you'll cast right back in the same spot you're catching folks and a high percentage time i mean it works it absolutely works now there may be another fish right there where they are he's all over it's about time i jerk too what it is i'm being hindered by bluegill and i'm trying not to jerk at them that's a good crappie too all right let's let him go go on back boy back in the 60s when that old woman opened that store up she's friendly she's a pretty good old gal but now she doesn't got some angry and wrinkled up old got old old rose around her old lips and stuff a little white hair growing right there and then my wrinkles she's ordering i ain't gonna buy nothing from that woman again she's got a no hateful looking look on her face all the time i'm not doing it you going overdue if you want all right folks let's see if we can catch this one right here they're about two and a half feet deep i just let it fall two and a half feet deep and just bring it back and watch for that high vis line to go thump god that's a good one right here folks look here i knew when that fish hit it it was a good fish come on in here boy what are you doing you look funny with that jig in your mouth yeah that's a good and now i knew exactly when he hit it there's a distinctive way a big crappie hit a jig oh no doubt about it that's what i'm talking about let's let him go folks it's about dark but i want to go ahead right here i couldn't quit fishing because my day started off rough nothing that i did worked uh it took till about 10 o'clock before the fog burned off and everything that i just things wasn't working but once i got to really catching these fish i couldn't quit i've caught crappie all day long and you know we all have our favorite colors but i'm gonna go ahead and show y'all what i call these fish on today a lot of different colors today i used blue ice this is all bobby garland stuff right here mayfly which is a great great color they eat it up and i caught a few on the mow glow shad and this is a goldy looking color but believe me it works cajun cricket you know it's from one extreme to the next that's how i fish i'm a jig changer i guarantee you in a twilight there's the back side of it done a great job there's a lot of different colors a good crappie fisherman well when you open this tackle box it'll look like a christmas tree and uh that's what it takes to consistently catch crappie in my opinion i want to say god bless each and every one of y'all thank y'all for all the great comments everything y'all do for this channel and yes i'm feeling good i'm 100 i feel like a a rooster i feel like a 55 year old rooster and i'm ready to rock and roll baby right man well i'm talking about boom and remember
