tell you I tossed and turned last night it is not just another football game Pat you and I will try to treat it that way it's going to have the humorous moments but now it's up to the player now ladies and gentlemen let's meet the starting defensive unit for the Pittsburgh Steelers the front for [Applause] at defensive left in standing six six way to forty five seven year veteran number 68 Elsie Greenwood the rest of the front for number seventy-five Joe Greene six for 275 right tackle is earning home for 63 the right end white white and out of three pittsburgh linebackers at one out lights outside linebacker spot number 59 Jack ham Jack Lambert in the middle Andy Russell on the right outside linebacker spot and now the defensive secondary left cornerback number 24 JT Thomas the right cornerback number 47 Melbourne the left safety number 23 is Mike Wagner the right safety number 27 Glenn Edwards and I'll cut Chuck know and the rest of the Pittsburgh Steelers and producing now they starting offensive unit for the Dallas Cowboy [Applause] [Music] [Applause] at left tackle number 73 Ralph Neely [Applause] the offensive line for the Dallas Cowboys number 73 Ralph Neely the left guard number 66 Burton lawless at center number 62 John Fitzgerald the right guard number 61 is Blaine 9 and the right tackle number 78 raviel right next the receivers at tide am number 84 is Jean Jurgen wide receiver number 83 golden Richards and finally number 88 through Pearson [Applause] the backfield for the Dallas Cowboy number twelve Roger Staubach 26 Creston Pearson 444 Robert new house Tom Landry and the rest of the Dallas Cowboy [Applause] we'll be ready for the national anthem and the kickoff of Super Bowl 10 in just a moment [Music] great memories in you here is Roy a chillin out to start Superbowl month again kicked by a gorilla taken by piercing the ex dealer at the three reversed comes to Henderson the linebacker they've got it set up he's got nine five-speed he can really go Henderson back to the 44 yard line of Pittsburgh stopped by gorilla the last man who had a chance 52 yard returned by Henderson he's got the Cowboys with gamble to other teams and other Super Bowls here's the reverse Randy white peels back donovan peels back there you can see couple of the blocks and you're right the last man right now has to come up a huge has a pretty good shot at getting him good tackle by Joella serella took him down low he was the last man that's the play Dallas used during the regular season to score a touchdown Cowboys at the Steeler 44 they break one early all back has Dugan in motion and Roger a fake on the first play Dallas got it back john fitzgerald the offensive center made the recovery and picked it up and advanced it loc Greenwood into the secondary in a hurry here's the first play as we said the Cowboys are not a great first quarter team but Elsie Greenwood was there so quickly he took the inside and Fitzgerald a fella too started to play darn near ended it like about second and 15 now for Dallas that play lost five ball back close to midfield Justin still a territory now stall back gets them maybe two maybe three earn a home Joe Greene the rest of the Steeler defense on the bottom of the pile Andy Russell - defensively Joe Greene is in there Elsie green would've made that first tackle is it left in Ernie Holmes who's a penetrator in fact the entire Pittsburgh defense is basic but extremely physical that time they tried to finesse Joe Greene a little bit and notice number 75 he'll really crowd Fitzgerald he sets up any kind of inside action right on the center's shoulder pad roll but father I'm here to Tommy and the shotgun Fitzgerald was a good snap this time home got loose passed down the middle incomplete intended for Preston Pearson overthrown by Roger Staubach who is fighting a pretty good wind Ernie Holmes was right in his face when he let go and Burton lawless the only rookie starting this game for either team does have a tough job in trying to block number 63 so punting situation comes up for Dallas fourth in about 12 and Mitch cups is in the game number 9 I asked him twice this week how do you pronounce his last name once he told me hoops once he told me Huff's he's passed his buddy's got everything that's got a good chick headed in the corner and the direction of Glenn Edwards and Edwards has it outside you about the 18 yard line before the Dallas special teams heard him out of power this telecast is presented by authority of the National Football League it's intended for the private use of our audience any rebroadcast or use of this telecast without the express written consent of the National Football League is prohibited so Terry Bradshaw the last man into the Steeler offensive huddle checks it in Steeler ball at their own 17 yard line what did you think about bradshaw's condition the taped knee the right knee I watched him try to pick up just the football off the ground he is not the same Bradshaw that can really burn you with the run talked to him yesterday about that very thing he just can't run as well as he did before he took that shot to Boyd Humphrey first down Steelers running thanks flier and Franco Harris those Harris for good yardage he got about seven whip Harris got him out of bounds and Rocky Bleier got there real good block on Leroy Jordan now Pittsburgh is about an 80% run team to the right they're working against the defensive line you see right here that time on the first play they also went against the grain and that's where Franco though has broken some big plays in the past they're the linebackers and Leroy was handled by Rocky Bleier who can really block the secondaries come on for that let's play much better than they did earlier in the year limbs long splits out to the right for the Steelers he will start in Paris an 8 yard pickup on that first and carry so it's second issue for the Steelers [Music] Dallas secondary right up the middle now stick in back with Harris that helped from water watch it again let's take a look at the trap blocking inside right now you're gonna see Cobb come down from the outside and really take Jeff throw few out and buss block Rocky Bleier it a pretty good Oh let's watch it now watch the left guard and go straight on here comes the outside coming down on the inside trap Jeff though never saw him it was 75 really went over first down Steelers the ball outside there in 30 now again he leans for about poor dears it would appear so far I have running in mind well they always have running in mine again they're very basic why are supposed to be the blocker but we might recall behind this offensive line which is not super on the individual basis but before they played away together very well is that flier did have 163 yards at one time this year against the Green Bay Packers I believe second and five [Music] almost first down yardage stopped by Harvey Martin from the upside opposite side of the field would help from Dave Edwards Jeff Niles trying to tell the Cowboys something through Bradshaw he is saying we are a strong football team there's Tom Landry we don't have to tell him I'll tell you Franco Harris is the best big running back in football maybe to Tommy to Beck's best big game running back in football to playoffs he's incredible extra tight end into the game now for the Steelers Randy Grossman [Music] in the back view by Mark Washington the quarterback who came up well as Harris tried to break it to the outside they did not get the first down and Harris is slow getting up now this is what Franco likes to do he's trying to actually probably get off the tackle the Cowboys seal it off beautifully you can see that now he goes outside again the cornerback was released on the short yardage and came up and made a tackle on the 230 pounder Washington has come on very very fast I think in the last part of the season veteran Bobby Walden number 39 and punt formation for the Steelers golden Richards back by himself for the cowboy Dallas second big break of the game as they swarm on Roy Zarrella Warren Capone the first band they are number 59 he's another one of those three agents right that the Cowboys seem to apply through the job here it is fumble snap by the veteran kicker Bobby walls dynamite [Music] first down on the Pittsburgh Steeler 29-yard line Steelers didn't have a turnover last year winning the Super Bowl in the entire game Roger Staubach sets him up as Pearson to his back and he takes the Pearson back going to the bundle top crook missing across the middle he might get in cuts down through Pearson that cowboy steak please 29 yard touchdown pass from Roger Staubach to probation and Patrick absolutely no pressure on Roger at all he faked the in run he made through Pierson shift back now watch the fake see where Lambert number 58 goes Lambert drops back he still undecided I'll tell ya through Pearson coming under not only a gutsy receiver he's dynamite when you have to catch it look at this od pretty in the game now to try to make it 7 nothing Dallas he does is stop and think back over the history of the Super Bowls and all nine times before this one the team that scored the first touchdown in the game went on to win it Dallas leads seven nothing Tony French had just kicked off for Dallas Mike Collier number 44 winds up with it now it fell blunt and what gets outside the 30 good return what looked like it might be disaster let's look back at the Dallas touchdown again I Pat watch Lambert now and watch the favor by Roger Staubach don't get a chance to see quarterbacks fake very well this is a good one because Lambert stops for just a moment checks number 58 and doesn't drop back and look for the under receiver coming which Pearson's already cleared good play Dallas touchdown right now it's Pittsburgh ball [Applause] [Music] Bradshaw [Applause] he gets to Franco Harris the Franco cutback inside perfect pickup of 8-yard [Applause] never terry bradshaw calls most of his own plays that time he caught Jeff throw few making a premature Elijah cross and Dallas sort of plays a controlled offense they don't penetrate like Pittsburgh does but they cut Jeff saw sort of getting back and blew him right out of there Pittsburgh quickly out of the huddle didn't take much time in 9 minutes 45 seconds left first period Dallas 7 Vicksburg coming [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Rocky Bleier cut from behind by Harvey Martin Harvey Martin too tall Jones the Dallas defensive ends are very very quick boy Jethro a few at that time went under the center Mansfield making contact and then Harvey came over the top side now look at that defense again they do not play like the Pittsburgh front four they're a little bit for perhaps faster they like to stunt there's Jethro Pugh he came up here so early he was about 18 years old when he signed his first contract he wasn't even driving it he's still playing like he's about 24 years old third and very short yardage tight end in the game Randy Grossman and Mullins the regular tackle comes down the line he hits the first down and Harris almost broken stop by Cliff Harris before somebody worries about number 72 being a these streamers have to notify the officials and then they notify Dallas that number 72 is a legal receiver on the offensive side he is the offensive guard and they use him to come back through and try to clear out on short yardage maneuver he just executed right there first down Pittsburgh Steelers yet to throw a pass so far back to the ball at the 43 yard line [Music] rothmeyer gets the call chased down from behind by Charlie waters first got some help from inside wires quite a story just in himself his knee the bathroom Vietnam he did have quite a few injuries from shrapnel grenades in what have you and he's really fit in here there's Tom Landry trying to figure out how the Steelers are able to run so well to get his defense five-yard pickup five there he in Harris the two deep fax warm and Stallworth the ride was either Bradshaw has really yet to put it up at nine rushes [Music] the direction of lynn swann caught by slando catch three catches pet watch Bradshaw he doesn't use much play pass action now watch this move by Swan to the outside Washington has the one chunk okay the young man from SC is fleet there's the jump well he gets them both down a beautiful reception the ball well throw Washington is right with him watch this drop back now tell he has a deep drop back flip pass protection that is on the money up in the I formation on first candy fire-spitting it gets inside the 15 down close to the 10 higher to the left Bradshaw calling all the plays has thrown just one pass had big completion to stall her to Lynn Swann tell ya clack to the heck of a job on Harvey Martin that time he actually loved him in when the offensive guard can go outside the defensa dinner take him down you're doing a pretty good job up foot here what that stealer offensive line is really firing off the ball second at five to the outside he bangs to about the 7 yard line before the Dallas defense again it can converge on hand it takes to most of the time the concern you can see on the face of Tom Landry we've had our first occupation on the field Rocky Bleier is working against and flyer can block right right though really slipped right off his hip and then B D and flier exchanged whatever players do third and one now for the studios the ball went right at the 7 yard line Alice 7 Pittsburgh nothing at the door Mullins is in any eligible receiver spot as a play for the guys then it goes retro touchdown ghost take the same way they used on short yardage before and threat show found tidy and Randy Grossman or touchdown watch it alright Palace watch our offensive guard go right behind Bradshaw watch this 72 goes in the faith is there everybody's pool and there's a free agent from Temple University that is the best Titan receiver they've got but he comes in really on short yardage for the meantime though Grossman 6 1 to 15 now with BA being walled in the holdings come on try to top it got over elected but it's good the indication from dorm sector the referee alright let's watch the inside fake let's see if number 72 violence does his job he just sets up I think good we're trying to fall it down like a linebacker took a fall step Dallas 7 Pittsburgh 7 at the Orange Bowl in Miami Roger Ella set to kickoff for the Pittsburgh Steelers who just tied it at 7-7 this time of the direction of Preston person at the 11e shut it dr. moon - who Pierce it out to the 35 yard line before he's get out of bow all right Pat how are we going to second-guess ourselves on this both teams are not big scoring teams in the first period they've taken advantage in the first frame both have touchdowns and the Super Bowl maybe one of the highest scoring wins ever sure you know has been a lot of criticism about the fact that the Super Bowl games in the past have been dull such is not the case in number 10 Dallas has a big contingency fans here go do the Steelers first intent to the cowboy [Applause] [Music] the broom for new house new Aston about a seven-yard pickup stop irony Holmes to the inside help from Mel breakfast I keep in mind too that the Cowboys rush extremely well to their left side they went right off Ralph Neely ahead I think the best year he probably ever had and they're in at the white white guy that might be the best all-around defensive line of the Steelers have in all categories Newhouse is only five ten but I think he's proven he can almost get a thousand yards in this league he almost did five minutes 12 seconds left first period 7-7 there's an emotion callback insta-tuck Dennison this time he's got a Dallas first down good blocking by the offensive right side JT Thomas on the tackle tell you mean Joe green is not very active in there right now well you've got a pinched nerve in your neck your shoulder your hands are still very important at that time they just sort of took Joe Greene inside and there was a lot of room between the defensive in the defensive tackle Rocky Bleier Jerry Mullins talking with the offensive coordinator for the Steelers first down Dallas the ball at the 48 yard line there 48 [Music] hot flashes host the first down yardage too tight mg human who was punished by Clint Edwards watch Neely now working against white at the far side Ray feel right and Nylund are doing a good job to the first shot Neely keeps their takes that one shot by white white across the helmet and Fugate already has the catch this might be the only man to lead from Amherst maybe ever you get turned out to be a heck of a OC we're inside now yup Swift at the Miami Dolphins it also for them I know you'd catch I didn't mean to first time with any Super Bowl so far that both teams have scored the first quarter inside the 30 to the 27 yard line of Pittsburgh JT Thomas get on a tackle that time that time they take the seam and let Joe Greene have it now you're watching watch Ernie Holmes come across he's a penetrator now they've already cut off Neely goes to work on Lambert I watched my and Fitzgerald take Joe Greene and Barry there's the trap by nigh on Holmes that block by kneeling coming across from his left tackle spot really sprung him if you can get it Lambert they think you can handle [Applause] the ball at the 27 yard line of Fitchburg here's an emotion play again works again quick handoff and again it looks like Dallas they're getting pretty good splits and they're allowing the inside tackle still make their quick move and they just turn them aside that time Ernie Holmes and Joe Greene again we're caught on the long starting line of scrimmage Jeff Doe looking on right now with much concern obviously about what's going on with his defense Terry Bradshaw alongside Roger Staubach the opposing number 12 Rich's at Pearson a slip to the left on the same side of the penis duck Kinnison flies for about three or four yards close to a first down a sort of an option run they just handed it to him and said you're on your own that's the young man who seems to get better and better every week the more he carries the ball the stronger he gets here come the substitutions for Dallas Preston Pearson and Billy Joe Dupree the past the Dallas Cowboys have thrown a lot on short yardage situations but with a 700 KY and about five or six inches I've been imagining I'll get the first 50 left in the first period 77 between the Steelers in the cowboy [Applause] has that uncanny knack to fall cord stopped by Ernie home but he's close little altercation going on down field right now between Drew Pearson and JT Thomas the cornerback and a wide receiver they were out of your picture but the officials quickly got it stuck there's ever been a hard-hitting secondary at football pro football in the fellows back there for Chuck Noll I've never seen him they are by far the most belligerent the most competitive and I really appreciate the way they do it I bet you do you better believe it cliff Harris could play for them I think he'd be perfect new house any part of the ball remember well I'll tell you that this course looks like about the link to the knuckle what if your greens nothing Dupree and Dennison who had checked out are back in now Landry and Jim Myers Myers shading his eyes he'd been with Tom for a long time there's nothing down what you're going to do looks like the teams have decided that seven parts is certainly better than three I think you can perhaps get 3 inches Tom Landry has decided he wants Roger Staubach to go for it if you know Olympic calls all the play [Applause] it is Doug Dennison who got the clutch yardage Jack Lambert on the stop for the obvious why Dennison did he wasn't thinking about endzone which once in a while I get short yardage you can pop through and get there but actually it was his late lunge that got him me yardage needed he was looking for much now less than a minute left in the first period [Applause] first down at the fifth Shipyard defense says down a strip show Hoffman Jack Lambert the middle linebacker was not fooled that time they were trying to bring the trap down from the outside on it now you're looking at the right defensive end against Neely Jack Lambert laid the wood he was trying to come in and trap a little linebacker right in the hole and Lambert at 6'5 is certainly the new Dick Butkus I would imagine he was quite a brawler no gang on that last play spiking the last one of the first period star back there either I can it's Jack Lambert on the bottom of the tackle I asked our tree before the game if Jack Lambert his second year mad man from Kent State is married yet Hart said he may never get married this guy can walk through your front door big tall Jack Lambert the middle linebacker who was fooled a couple of times early in the game has not been fooled on the last two plays it 7-7 into the first period [Music] eighty-one thousand plus watch the Dallas Cowboys prick down come up with the 11th play of this Drive passing situation Roger Staubach the shotgun Ralphie nearly jump back a little bit too soon Lili moved the Thane to keep in mind those need illegal procedure call but keep in mind is that stall back is an eligible receiver because he is not under there is a t formation quarterback from what we've seen early looks to me like Landry of company may try almost anything gonna have to pull out an ace right here because it's 3473 offense norms Schecter the referee here hurt is called a violation against Ralph Neely first quarter statistical picture pretty easy and pretty even mark does just the opening seconds of the second period in Raja Goud in the shotgun formation emotion is Charles young they come back the block drawback with connection Edwards had a chance Edward o had a chance to really do something from Pittsburgh couldn't hang on that time Pittsburgh did a stunt inside a twist between Joe Greene and Ernie homes and homes almost got there in time I watched it to inside and then to the right of your screen twist watch big 63 come along Charlie young tried to block it here's the throw Edwards never had a better chance ASP is intended for James Dugan Edwards looked like the intended receiver now Tony fresh 26 yard line come win today remember priests got it high enough let's see his reaction will tell you that it's going to be good Dallas can ditch Berg seven a good-looking drive-by jealous until they got in trouble down close to the Pittsburgh goal line nevertheless freak hit and they lead kid seven that's the story of the Dallas Drive finished off by a 36-yard field goal by the man who's about to kick off right down under 15 is Tony French this wood off the side of the foot and direction of Maryland 14 get down outside the 30 about the 33 yard line by backup linebacker Bob breunig number 53 let's keep in mind a number 82 for the Steelers to the penalty of John Stallworth he doesn't start and nobody can figure out why he made the big block a week ago or two weeks ago against Oakland it sprung Franco Harris he's got about four six speed but he gets it right now he runs a good pass pattern and number 82 is in the game Bradshaw may go to work topside right now Marin throw comes out in front of Stallworth Bradshaw goes back to pass rush 5 to 12 Jones and Pratt star is really popped as he let it go Edie Jones got away from Gordon Gravelle and almost took bradshaw's arm and head off the show how the Cowboys are gambling a Bradshaw now since is that more than ever they also blitzed the outside linebacker Edwards came from the weak side and he are too tall both cleared but I guess Bradshaw saw too tall before he saw number 52 I'd imagine he's 6 9 and 216 hard to even see around it Bradshaw just took a look over in that direction second and ten Pittsburgh Harrison flyer the running backs why are gets the call the garnish again Tom Henderson the linebacker indicating replacing Dave Edwards made the tackle Mike Webster number 52 is in there he and Mansfield alternate quarters he made a good block and really sealed off Jethro Pugh what both teams are living able to make him static plays there's a good holes when you see them they're some cool sunshine in Florida today 56 degree temperature is good for football third and four conversation from the sidelines perhaps you heard Bradshaw goes back to pass Harvey Martin had a shot at him Leroy Jordan had a shot Brett got the first down all right the first time we've seen Terry Bradshaw run a lot of people would be surprised at his speed he's about a four or five forty man he does have that taped up leg but look at him put it away do you think number 12 is in some kind of a quarterback you got another thing coming people worry about his IQ and all that don't worry about Terry Bradshaw he still wants to challenge a curse but this time he got out wisely her staff Steelers have all at the 45-yard line in their own territory gather some defense on the level its Berg on the right [Music] to Franco Harris as he does so well picks the hole and gets first down your head Charlie waters was back in the backfield early but Harris with those quick feet cut back inside and got a Steeler first down reaction was super by the Dallas team on defense Alexa Franco Harris turned real good lateral pursuit by the controlling defense watch Edwards and everybody can play it he cuts back inside and maybe that takes more out of a defense than anything watch Leroy Jordan the problem right away they know what it is but everybody overruns it and the Steelers make sure Franco Harris now with eight carries for 42 yards at the dallas 45 bradshaw outside stores at the mall there are V Martin really put the clamp good play by mail Renfro number 20 we've been watching him for fear that you might not be able to run on those bad feet this is just a pitch to John Stoll don't watch to the right of your screen I don't have to describe it I can feel it Harvey Martin too tall Jones you know about Harvey Martin's nickname is to me - offered unto me often to me Bradshaw back to fast sour captain captain [Music] they're going to call this a completion there's going to be an argument by Paris and everybody which is understandable that's another one of the great receptions we've ever seen watch this ready to watch the pattern he makes he's looking for the CV rise then throw off and watch how he elevates it quickly from both feet how he's got it now let's kicked out it is rule the completed pass Pittsburgh got it back third and 2 you'd have to get sprinkle Harris here [Applause] ari martin - the big hit I mean Harvey Martin is man number 79 is incredible effort what's the light of your screen now - tall is being handled just stops right empty it is fourth down Steelers a yard at least and the indication would seem to be that they are going for it as Terry Mullins in an eligible receiver position he's number 72 that's what they've done before Oh slim the backup tight end also in four out of five for Terry Bradshaw so far [Applause] at the 41-yard line Bradshaw is going to the bundle Franco Harris head first down and daylight can't hold it cliff Mara Billy measured Franco and if the safety man doesn't make that move and get inside Franco Harris might've had a touchdown what's the inside fake and it's a good one by Bradshaw everybody's there and the back just going straight right out of the backfield that's super contact the hares twins Franco and cliff in a violent collision Dallas ten Pittsburgh seven with 10 minutes and 51 seconds left before the half in Super Bowl number 10 statistic on the cowboy defense they just stopped the Steelers on 41 the only staff there that's really worthwhile was what they did to the Rams weeks ago right Billy Joe Dupree number 89 is the cowboy tight end right now first and ten the ball with the Dallas 36 new house maybe two [Applause] you might have fought for an extra one tell you if you're a football fan and I guess you almost have to be to be able to watch this but the linebackers the outside linebackers and mr. Lambert the middle that's got to be the best troika maybe in this game in a long time Jack ham is incredible and Andy Russell has done everything that pumped the ball is up for Art Rooney and Lambert in the middle is savage something you pointed out before that perhaps Joe green was not his normal self might be proved by Chuck dole right now because Steve Burness is that he makes a tackle for Pittsburgh draw back throws outside caught Doug Tennyson not quite a first down well I'll tell you Roger Staubach though is so cool now watch how he doesn't desert the pass the pass blocking and run with it there had to be a Tennessee here because Furness the minute you mentioned number 64 gets good pressure on the double-team block but Roger doesn't bolt and run him throws it off the wrong leg and gets the completion and Jack ham took Doug Dennis him down short of a first down his third and one here's Jack ham little reaction about 218 of the best linebacker she's gonna see and state what a pity to come out of there third and one go back back to past those outside overthrows throughout Jack Lambert the middle linebacker out there rolling on top of new house Dallas will have to kick Pittsburgh defense didn't get them all the way here to roll over and let some team blow them out of here in the first half Clint Edwards and Dave Brown go back you shut dole in the insert Mitch pups will punt for Dallas averaged just over 39 yards during the regular season number nine is unpredictable [Music] line drive to be handled perhaps five Brown it is Dallas special teams down in the herd they are super Randy white led the charge well you know who handles the specialty for Dallas Mike Ditka and I guess if you didn't do a good job on Sunday that you'd have to fight dip you're on Monday and every other day in the rest of the week part of the crowd who's had a marvelous time here in Miami we saw him somewhere else 9:05 left before they have this bird ball the ball on their own 43 yard line Bradshaw fired Harris this time dallas seals the middle pretty well but again Charlie waters the safety man had to come up and help on the tackle Pittsburgh feel so confident of their rushing game they just don't throw the ball on first down very much and I guess the cliche you got to get someone first down is important but Bradshaw just does not like to throw him first now there's Hardy Martin he goes inside all right play by DD Lewis the linebacker who got back and got a hand on the ball let's take a look the Cowboys try a twist Martin is going inside this is not a very good defensive stunt nobody really made penetration quickly and if you stunt and don't quite make it you're vulnerable that time Harvey Martin was good play by D D and L Renfro looked like he might have been whipped on that deep sideline to me that's right if Lewis hadn't been back there deep Stallworth was open third down to Pittsburgh down there's the three-man front Stallworth the wide receivers the pittsburgh era still standing up in the backfield now is ready first sack of the game are the Marten again now the free man fluff hat makes the middle linebacker key that most quarterbacks watched completely unavailable we've got three men down you've got Randy white running around and suddenly a guy like Terry Bradshaw or any other quarterback doesn't have that great key of the middle linebacker now he's confused Harvey Martin helps a little bit more Randy white also got a piece of Bradshaw he checks in on the sidelines golden Richard's back by himself for Dallas and Bobby walled in the punt for the Steelers high kick Richards got his hand up fair catch Dallas bought most of it fear they'll take over at their own 48 after test the 32 yard punt by Bobby Walden though the Cowboys get it with eight minutes four seconds left in period number two they lead 10 7 the artificial turf of the Orange Bowl Super Bowl number 10 Dallas 10 Pittsburgh 7 what's the trivia lien open you know Roger Staubach has never played against Pittsburgh he doing preseason ranking issues maybe that's reason he's so healthy they contribute with his Cowboys have a first down he goes back to pass wait keep this table over the middle my question Pearson [Applause] quite a story of preston fearsome fellow just caught that pass to honey Roger Staubach really stands in there we're gonna talk about Preston Pearson pass pretty good call on first down the thing I like about Roger particularly today is he is not looking to run you can see the action as Joe Greene at home is trying to move in he really staying is bad he's not looking to perhaps get injured and again the steamers dropped back so quickly right I'm sort of throwing under that Steeler defense second and about a half yard if we back live now well back I believe got back down on the ball himself but we'll have to wait to see one thing he never had it watch the snap Fitzgerald snap Roger is a see if he pulls away he just never quiet had it they put it on Dennis's hip notice that time that Joe Greene who's back in the game now was lined up right right in front of John Fitzgerald Center that would be a little disconcerting it would be if that was Joe Greene as we normally know it with the pulled groin and the muscle I just have a feeling it we're not seeing the same great although he thinks exactly all that confusion ended up in the bout of the yards loss for the Cowboys now it's third and about two [Music] [Applause] here's a guy that destroy the Rams up a week ago Preston Pearson it was a basketball player out of Illinois and I watched the catch maybe only a basketball player could make this one but he seems to do it week after week for the Cowboys and the steamers are even volatile mr. Fitzgerald working on Joe green backs back up to get the pattern Joe green is not making a lot of penetration Cowboys downs of the Steeler 36 yard line now with a first down the call and gets hit in a hurry Mike Wagner the strong safety man Dallas cheerleaders as well as a great contingent of Dallas fans also on hand Jeana top of your picture of course the Goodyear blimp who get may not come back the Titan left earlier he's got a full hamstring a hamstring is not the easy thing to come back in the second half for that's for sure Goodyear blimp just barely would fit inside this Orange Bowl in fact it would almost reach from one end zone to the other it doesn't look that big we get some great pictures from up there second and eight star backpack the field yeah the right key that time it was a forward pass but I'll tell you Dallas is a good screening team by that I mean they get a lot out of their screams Jack Lambert read it like a book Roger knows he was like this so does Tom ROV I would imagine Landry talking now - duck Tennyson as he sends in the plays he shuttles for the most part Pearson and Denison Tom Landry he says if I call the plays then I know what to look for before it happened that's why we do it it's draw back there's not complain about that either let's take a look now and try to keep our eye on proof Pearson to get a double on him which he should get on the outside they might do something else but number 88 is to the right side covered by cake-topper Charles young in the game for Dallas star back looks like he might take off got away from one got away twice how much time can you have caught by young he gets back inside Dallas first down [Applause] what a job by Stallman another Thane the offensive lineman did not draw off the line of scrimmage but usually happens with this kind of a straddle takes place here it is what they call the spread of the shotgun five yards back and Roger can see it all remember five receivers can get downfield now he's in trouble now he is it Roger you are something else what a riverboat game where is Charlie young is has the presence of mind to keep it going uphill and stop the clock fine-looking dance by Starbuck Dallas first down Steelers 20 outside his new house hit almost as soon as he got the ball by Andy Russell here hit that one will Russell have been reading him well for like 13 years it told me the toughest thing he ever had this league was being player representative for about four or five it's hard to get the dues money out of you know especially after the season is over just over five minutes left before halftime and the Orange Bowl in my temperature again hi 50 perfect day to play [Applause] [Music] supply the left group fishing to the right go back back 2 throws and pressures are fevers gone [Music] the Steelers stunted and LC took the inside and got away with it let's see how it happens to the right of your screen now watch number 68 he comes inside a quick twist well that was a foot p50 flex split twist - over and very quickly he's upon him and Roger get down get down 12 yard losses blame nine number 61 just took a glance to the outside and by the time he looked back LC was gone again if you've got great individual people in the secondary that could go man oh man oh you can afford to do that good defensive style back to the 35 yard line Richards right Pierson left shotgun formation [Applause] kind of protection works [Applause] and thought he might get out of again but the Steelers finally shut it down that was right right the big right defensive end that finally got a part of a tearaway Jersey almost Roger and half of the thing live grant a lot of time with that secondary for Pittsburgh is very good and they bang you watch Roger now he has the time there's nobody open look at this shirt job and our number nine with this back to you the Dallas cutter cups trying for the coffin corner in the direction of brown ball goes out of bounds at the five between the five yard line in the six yard line of 39-yard punt by Mitch ups and a good job Roger Staubach now perhaps a little bit confused by that Steelers secondary and defense looking on he's been sacked three times for loss of 27 yard Mike when the Steelers are really backed up as they were they and then they will go ahead and gamble on defense and they usually don't have to gamble on these things okay Carrie Bradshaw would throw it on first down download you I don't so three minutes in 47 seconds left before half-time Bradshaw with the same two running backs Playa Mujeres fire Paris to help maybe he got to behind the quarterback watch that Dallas defense convert remember they do not penetrate a lot but they slide along the line of scrimmage and try to control more or less an area this time actually they missed the tackle wire picked up in the art age anyway they will slide along so you're not going to be able attractive as effective as you might against Pittsburgh yr7 carries for 30 yards [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Harris the call this and again that pursuit catches up hey Edwards watch him let's watch number 52 closes from behind also waters came up and forced the play from the outside Franco even Franco had nowhere to go as the clock still runs down close to halftime three minutes and ten seconds remaining while the Steelers break the huddle neither team has used the timeout as yet third-down stealer your back the Blitz is on 2015 pick it up [Applause] on the rebound mark Washington with him again but again Akane all right this was against the three-man Russian Pat you call it the Cowboys Kamath everybody watch this here comes the start good pass blocking people are going over and over the logs Road look at the tip now by Lynn Swann the catch on the other side he's made two incredible catches without at halftime a lot of doubt about whether or not he'd be able to play - after that concussion he suffered against Oakland right now the Steelers are out on a hole in in Dallas territory all of the cowboy 37 first down the Bradshaw looks like an automatic [Music] [Applause] intended I believe for stores what it looked like Swan had a chance to catch it to tell you slaughter was open running the post behind that under pattern that time the Pittsburgh offensive line gave Terry Bradshaw all the time he needed they are excellent at using their hands right to the legal limit of the law slow them out and push the defensive lineman away then just as the official gets ready to drop the flag they bring them back in and get legal again they're excellent two-minute warning now as Badshah hits to the sidelines to talk things over with Chuck Noll the Cowboys still leave Tim the seventh the Orange Bowl is packed [Music] i watch rather Kovich he's the coach that does this watch them throw their hands up you can see all the way across Mullins Ravel all of them and then they pull those hands back in the defense being while it straightened up and that was simply underthrown second attend the ball at the Dallas 37 yard line Brookshire Pat Summerall of Super Bowl King close to the 30-yard line perhaps inside the Dallas 30 stop 5pd Lewis at that time they ran a false trap and fooled Jethro Pugh they pull this way and Jethro takes it comes inside they don't even have to block number 75 and blyer was what might look like an old cross buck to a lot of football fans clocks still running a minute 34 33 now left before half-time Cowboys up by three they're still not the range of Roy irrelevant as yet [Applause] to Pittsburgh this bird burns a time as a minute Jim left before the half that Bradshaw comes to the sidelines they went right to Mullen side there the right guard and of course travel at right tackle he did a great job again I think Bradshaw and Chuck Cole might decide they do have open receivers right now I don't think they probably thought they were going to have people playing that well in the aerial game especially when Dallas allowed only just a little bit over 43% of the passes to be completed against him during the regular season I imagine we'll check them out right now [Applause] Carrie and conversation with Chuck Noll still assistant coach who coached in a senior bowl game once told me that even if Bradshaw couldn't even throw the ball he would recommend that his team make him a first draft choice that's how good an athlete he is the great thing was that he took punishment which you don't want to draft a guy cause he can take it but if quarterback these days if you can't if you're not big enough and he's about to 16 you can't take a shot from somebody 270 you know play tennis for a living or maybe golf or something right now Bradshaw is back in the Steeler huddle Dallas leaves at 10:00 7:00 Pittsburgh has the ball in Dallas territory and pretty good in town you better play the corners on defense it's all worth it Wolf's wife can both get to the fire [Music] first down backdrop we got away from - he's coming back to the outside again Bradshaw still has time and five is tight in Larry found he fumbled still Pittsburgh ball dad the Cowboys don't believe it Pittsburgh is going to hurry up down let's see if we can show you what happened and they'll call straw back to scrambler but where here's what we're talking about with strength Bradshaw is strong he's agile he's tough and he hits the hero last year takes the hand off her fat Shah he wants him to hurry again he just looked back and checked the clock now it shows 33 seconds and now they take timeout number two they have one way now Roy Joelle on that Canadian is 15 for 15 from about the 37 yard line in I'm sure they don't want a tie score but I Bradshaw and Chuck know they might sort of take it don't you think I think so except I was watching him kick yesterday in the workout and at this closed in the wind seems to just come over the top of the stands and push the ball down nothing is going to be easy going this way kickers all are amateur or climatologist all right you always go out and check clouds and you have to be you don't want to try from too far out about that poor guy Terry Hanratty right he still holds most of the Notre Dame passing records slowly took us taking the snap three times he stayed right in front of the coach there three times this year is the backup quarterback Bradshaw will anybody else did that pretty good idea Chuck Noll with his last-minute instructions to carry is Tom Landry with his team leading ten seven walks on the other side of the field third down and about three is the situation for the Steelers now as Leroy Jordan comes back to the defensive huddle to Dallas Swan and stalwart the wide receivers go with left Swan right Bradshaw almost picked off five men Renfro after it was deflected by DD Lewis there's the caller we were talking about everybody saw two weeks ago with Stallworth beat the Raiders in that corner pretty well played and you know DD Lewis has gotten as much depth and number 50 is playing as well as we've seen him and he's played pretty handsomely in the past gorillas got his spot at the 26 so it'll be a 36-yard field goal attempt the same distance that tony freeship from gorillas shading his eyes right now timeout for Dallas let's make him think about it little boy all right now pat kickers are not worried about the timeout particular but you do like to kick off the artificial surface not you we were before the stuff game like this but actually these kickers from the side settle they do like the rug though I think perhaps because a an off field a muddy field or a wet field doesn't allow them the traction when they come in from the side but they left foot they slide and they have trouble making contact might say a word about this artificial turf it's been criticized a lot it should have been but they've done a heck of a job getting it ready for this week there were some rips and chairs this is the last game it's going to be played on it they're going to replace it but right now it's not bad these are ideal weather conditions if it's too hot it's slick if it's wet it's slick right now it's just about perfect don't forget at halftime of course we've got I always mentioned Phyllis George first and I don't know why I do that but she and brent musburger and of course Eric Ross we'll sort of analyze this pain and I think halftime might almost be as much fun as these first two quarters I know why you did gentlemen it is that good no good Loretta Kubek left a line drive Pat he didn't get it up much at all did it you described sir he whipped it just one outside the left upright I think it might have hit the left upright and glanced into the stands behind I wonder if maybe they saw watch the number 70 s in front of you take it back a little further if we can Oh too late Dallas comes up with the ball now with two timeouts remaining 22 seconds left before half-time stall back decided we'll go to the dressing room like we are he gives the new house he stopped by flight bike down at 10 seconds left before the half it looks like the Cowboys will go inside leading 10-7 they will not run another play [Applause] that's the end of the first half of Super Bowl number 10 with the score the Dallas Cowboys came and a Pittsburgh Steelers seven [Music] get set for the second half of Super Bowl number ten I Pat Summerall with Tom Brookshire right now the Dallas Cowboys lead at 10 to 7 as both teams have returned from their halftime instructions a Tony Frisch is set to kick it off for the Cowboys the direction of Mike Collier Dave Brown and Mel Blount so far that kicked away from Collier here comes a bridge I kicked in the direction of Blount again takes it at the 8 now boys down quickly hit - special teams Howard and Henderson the first men down Tom Henderson with the big hit fallacy in the second half if Bradshaw and the Steeler a coaching staff don't believe they can throw the football they've had some people open you can see Bradshaw is completed six so is Roger Staubach 102 yards against only forty seven they've rushed for 92 and Franco Harris is about on schedule to even 40 some-odd yards but Bradshaw had some open receivers and Dallas better cover him up his first down Steelers the ball at the Steeler 26 Harris gets the call and first down Larry Cole rolls back inside for some help from Jeff Jones to stop him after about three opening moments of period number three in Super Bowl ten first half outstanding football one penalty an illegal procedure and not a turnover only the bad snap handled by Walton that's quite a half second down seven to go for Pittsburgh Bradshaw baked go back outside to Franco Harris no place to go Harvey Martin from the opposite side of the pool after he has cut off by to call John let's take a look at Harvey Martin and you'll see number 72 come in to it's just a toss after the inside fake watch Martin sort of searched destroy you tall has already arrived and Franco Harris is looking up about seven inches there's too tall Leroy Jordan set before the game if we can keep Franco Harris from a hundred yards Wigan win so far his town Brookshire just pointed out he's just over 40 now the Steelers have third and 12 that's all [Applause] hold on No incomplete pass it by Cliff Harris I'm good parents did not take Burstein off low its safety and I'll tell you you oughta sue number 43 plays the ball and the receiver better than anybody Bradshaw getting good protection look at called working against Martin watch number 43 now stay with it broke up a little bit but he also broke up the play [Music] Bobby Walden back to kick or the Pittsburgh Steelers golden Richards in single boy spider pocket Richards Bearcat sickle juggled a little bit but he'll arm so the Cowboys get their first offensive chance the second half as Roger Staubach brings out his offensive unit you know how close they got to blocking that hunt and I watch the Steelers work against that ganging up in the middle by the Cowboys all yesterday afternoon they almost got that very close crowd at the Orange Bowl 80,000 187 and a lot of those standing in the aisles Super Bowl records set from Los Angeles in Super Bowl number seven ninety thousand one hundred and eighty two no more could come here to dinner first on Dallas fall at their own 42 it's back to Preston Pearson he dipped inside but outside but played it as well as you can little misdirection out of the I formation by Landry and it fooled absolutely nobody and again the Pittsburgh secondary they play the line of scrimmage against the run as well as anybody here it is the misdirection should work the eyes out in front Preston Pearson the former Steeler has a little bit of a problem Mike he's got a heck of a lot of a problem look at this old for him problem in the person of Mel Blount Jack Lambert the middle linebacker who came out to help it's second and ten straight ahead pop for Doug Dennison the middle linebacker we've mentioned him often and we should Jack Lambert I have never known anybody to come in this league and start every game as a rookie and do the job he did a year ago and he's just improved it's not holding up the call age and he is some kind of a middle linebacker and he doesn't look like what you have in mind the pattern of a middle linebacker should be he's six five and about 218 pounds most of it in the heart I've just got to put the ball up somewhere named Joe Dupree a white the tight end is split wide left shotgun formation star back to the outside antenna for Richards picked off by JT Thomas first interception so far 25 cornerback watch that again here's another one of those great number one draft choice if you're gonna Street Thomas come out of nowhere again he's the under man in the zone plays it beautifully and now this guy can run with it I'm other famous people do extremely well and boy they go back on office here's golden and company first turnover might be the largest of this game put the ball down at the 25-yard line of Dennis and Terry Bradshaw with Rocky Bleier and Franco Harris the running backs take it over in good shape cuts back inside for about two or three middle linebacker Leroy Jordan came out to make the tackle lap time Harvey Martin was completely fooled and ran inside looking for something bladder had a very easy time of handling them there wasn't a lot of yardage on the play but perhaps a little confusion on the Dallas team Pittsburgh Steeler offensive line is the one that started the game cold black Mansfield Mullins and drew Bell [Applause] one split right [Applause] Harris again cuts back against the brain is [Applause] again Franco likes to run left but this time they start him off right to the weak side of the formation and Pat you described if you're behind the Dallas defense watch this starts out like he's going dead right watch you come back inside of Jethro Pugh 230 pounder Joe Paterno he's trying to game to go back to Penn State that would be against the law eleven minutes left third period Dallas leads by three but Pittsburgh got inside the 15 got enough for first down before Merrill rim pro hung on to make the tackle you know what else Franco Harris does except be the MVP of last year's Super Bowl he's involved in more charities and more young organizations in all around Pittsburgh than any person I've ever known his time is never that valuable and somehow he just sort of rolls into Super Bowls and he doesn't get tight and some of the other steamers were tired not at all Franco he was checking out what kind of shoes use yesterday and that was his main concern continue how hard the wind is blowing Bradshaw makes in Reverse gets awakened to find me chasing him down with F : there was a busted play where a Terry Bradshaw just couldn't get the handoff faith he wisely kept it what's the operation now it starts out that way he starts to do it and keeps it to that side that wasn't a bust he meant to do it but I saw some hesitation almost at the moment of truth he might have wished the head of the dog he wound up under Jethro Pugh and too tall Jones that's about 550 pounds so now the Steelers have second at 12 Stallworth and lynn swann are flanked to the left of your screen I am so many people lips is our overthrow let's go ahead to hurry good coverage and solo coverage bail rent rope and mark Washington stayed with their men and had them completely covered up all was thrown away so it'll be third down as Frenchy Fuqua checks in in place of Rocky Bleier and Alice makes mass substitutions in their defensive unit Randy wife Randi news Calvin Peterson all right you've got to get the three-man front remember the crew chief you claw is not a great blocker but he's a good pass receiver Franco Harris one of the few runners who uses a mouthpiece shorter than time [Music] [Applause] broke up five mark Washington Swan got a hand on it but just touched it will seat you again he almost caught that ball Lynn Swann and as John McKay has said before he just didn't have any good players at USC but OJ Simpson and slot and the different people he puts in here do a pretty good job as balls slipped out a Bradshaw's hand for half just a bit serella again shading his eyes but the sun's not usually a factor in kicking field goals at the 23 this one no good again altercation with Harrison said we need you well Jack Lambert was after cliff Harris that's the reason Jeff throw from heaven grab the defensive safety gorilla heads back to the sideline a little less confidence and he might have been before this game started ten seven Dallas I take a look at what happened Joe Ellis just missed his second field goal now Lambert's walking by here's Harris telling him something and grabs the kicker and Lambert at 6'5 works him over but Washita Arkansas to Jacqueline it's a long way to going all the way up Dallas takes it over they're all 20-yard line [Applause] down for the cowboy Preston Pearson got some room and Preston gets about nine good run by Preston Pearson and Jack Lambert who spent most of that last time out talking to the officials had to make the tackle panel from all over the country the thing you can never teach her running back and Preston Pearson has always had the ability is win not to be in too much of a hurry he can get in behind people and let everything happened and he just had to start it out again he did a beautiful job that time finding one little holder was double tight ends for Dallas Ron Howard let's go to flea Newhouse but I think he got the first down well Roger tried to call a false trap he tried to pull the often see right side of the line outside right I'll tell you Lambert cut me didn't buy it at all they made her first down they might have lost a player cowboy shotgun so far when Starr back has chosen to use it has not been too successful one out of four for 14 yard 31 yard line straight ahead handoff almost as soon as he got the ball Lambert again involved hey really hot Pittsburgh defense without the second period on has been really bangin watch the action now not only when the play is on but right afterward here it is snugged up tight Newhouse gets drilled right away that's Greenwood now watch Lambert number 58 and they want the Cowboys bad Wallace came across to trap Greenwood nobody was there Newhouse did well to hold on to the ball the second and ten see how cautious thought back is about throwing crawe gets about five Jack Lambert and Mike Wagner watch Elsa Greenwood a finesse Ernie Holmes a little bit with this draw they get Lambert caught just a little in between here he makes contact with Fitzgerald and I'll tell you Lambert may be biting people underneath the pile I can't tell is really hot about something still made it flip Harris I imagine how much money is involved Patrick I know you follow those kind of things fourteen thousand dollars to the winner 7500 to the loser fight you for 15 grid [Music] [Applause] that gets away from away from two is close to a first down again Jack Lambert look who's looking on behind Brent Musburger inner cross Walter Cronkite there he is he looks a little colder than we do I can't believe that there's Walter what's he sales a lot that makes a difference he's maybe not as yesterday he should be not a first down Starbuck did not quite get it and the Dallas punting unit has come onto the field Lambert who has really been active of late will stay on a special team that was only stall back second carry one of those was when he had to lose yardage and he picked up four looks to me like Roger is not intending to run much maybe he's been told don't take a chance to Steelers they put you on your shield jump no looking on alongside Terry Bradshaw Glenn Edwards along with Dave Brown Edwards talking to the official mich pups in the game to putt for Dallas but as we told you before he is liable to do anything Kyle Davis by the way as the snapper for Dallas the rookie from Oklahoma [Music] and a good a little matches a fine thought it'll hang a long time Dallas down in a hurry Edwards got back to about 224 after a 44-yard punt by humps bob bruenig again on the stop along with Elam Woolsey there goes Davis back to the Pittsburgh Vince it's still Tim seven down [Music] Dallas Cowboy defensive unit and their coach Tom Landry the Pittsburgh Steelers and their coach Chuck Noll Steeler ball first and ten ball at their own 24 [Applause] comes in motion Harris gets the handoff Leroy Jordan the first to hit but you need help with Franco you almost feel like the Steeler defense though has turned on the entire ballclub ferocious series really the last time they really beat up on Dallas the defensive side and that really helped the offensive unit there's no doubt about it again flyers back in there the blocker Bradshaw hasn't left has it second at seven no he hasn't right now he's in a passing situation Harrison flyer the running thanks [Applause] never saw the ball coming completely done on replay and the great thing about Bradshaw is that even though he throws a hot past it's easy to catch he's a very strong guy I've watched him throw at 78 yards just flat-footed but look at this it has a lot of spin on it and Swan has those soft hands 11 touchdown catches but none today yeah he's caught three 497 yards that tackle of course by Mark Washington who's been with Swan all day and covered him well but hasn't been able to stop it down less of a ship Bradshaw on a flyer there may be two LLC Greenwood looking on from the sidelines one of the outside standing members of that Steel Curtain defense you know his blocking of a couple of friend talking in passes a year ago might have taken a lot out of the viking offense he's so tall he cuts off the whole right side of the field for the offensive quarterback he's six six second down for a steel romp in to get it right now that's all he is tough to get down there Paris they can't had to make the tackle I'll tell you Harvey Martin had a pretty good hand on him too and Franco just ripped it again Franco's not looking for big daylight now it's just that stutter step it's a counter and they get some pretty good wood on him and Franco right now is just looking for yardage straight ahead right over the top of Cliff Harris 18 carries for 65 yards for Franco Harris third about a yard they have Paris might get it again that's gonna put it up in the air Larry Crowne the intended receiver Charlie waters on the coverage in a good pop from water a good call by Bradshaw I thought he'd just bring him out stop him bring him across Charlie waters has played extremely well I can recall against the ledge did you know he was very high and he did a young man that's had operations like seven of them in six years but he's done a real good job golden Richards back for Dallas Bobby Walden to putt for Pittsburgh Dallas has been trying to block these putts all day and here they come again [Applause] Richardson signals for the fair catch at the 18th kenderson bank closes always clip Harris to blocking that except fun I'm sorry 34 yard kick by Walden so with four minutes and six seconds left in the third period Dallas Dooley's 5-3 the Orange Bowl is packed the toughest ticket in town and for a long time for Super Bowl number ten the Cowboys take it over first and ten at their own 20 Steve Furness replaces Joe green in the Pittsburgh defense Pearson goes in motion good fat you want to see a garden a tackle work together watch Blaine I and Ray feel right you mentioned for this who just come in who is a stunning defensive tackle a little bit more a keen on him then Joe green because he's not as strong I watched the right part of your screen 61 goes out sets him up rapier runs it they were simple scissor block Newhouse hit they're just about right takes a lot of timing a little star back now six yard pickup second and four Pearson gets out to about 229 short of a first down before LC Greenwood stops him if Pearson would happen to be the guy that's the big factor wouldn't that be something that moved down on Landry had the presence of mind to say well Pittsburgh has too many backs in I might not have as many I think I'll give Preston kearson 2shot kearson story of course is well-known he's played in Super Bowl with three different kings Rick Pittsburgh with Baltimore and now with Dallas third and about a half yard [Applause] [Music] [Applause] he may not have it Andy Russell and Elsie Greenwood the first to they hit him but it's going to be close it's a pretty subtle vein but I saw the entire line of scrimmage for the Steelers sort of taken inside move after the play had been set by Roger Staubach they say you get the Super Bowls and you're the Super Bowl champions because of defense and for the Steelers have done nothing to throw that one out the window Steelers of course trying to win two straight and accomplished by the Dolphins and by the Packers and nobody else first down the insert Tom Landry calling the play killing Preston Pearson what he wants right on first down Andrew says by the way that he the reason he always looked so serious when our cameras pick him up on the sidelines is that he's thinking about what play he's going to call next all right [Applause] all that brings back to prison with no place to go he fights for about two white white Dallas I've done a lot of running of the football against this defense very difficult defense to run against Tom Henderson gonna turn the opening kickoff after taking a handoff from Preston Pearson thank you sir Super Bowl second down now for Dallas Doug Dennis in the deep back [Music] house up close to the first down marker and out of bounds by Andy Russell Elsie Greenwood just put the former Heisman award winner Maxwell Award winner all the way down what logical sort of a semi roll inside after the fake gets it off and else he knocked him down there as Newhouse made the catch and then else he pulled him to his feet what fashionable man Stallings he handles the secondary [Applause] that's just Excel from change-up that lunge by Newhouse got another cowboy first down and star back this back he's gonna take off for this flag is down we really took off that time and the Steelers had come with a twist but the TAC is going to the outside so it opened the middle up it's going to be interesting there might be an offensive a call against Newhouse to try to help him behind I think it's going to be a clip Newhouse tried to assist in the long Schachter product that's only the second penalty of the game now watch Roger Staubach go back and set up now notice the tackles will go to the outside and it does open up the middle Fitzgerald picks him up and now Roger can't get outside these dealers that blows him off with a new house did clip from behind he hit Andy Russell there's the mark go up against the Cowboys the ball goes back to the 26 yard line where it's still first down for Dallas well in dangerous before you know that those teen or linebackers superb anyway must have been worked at all the last two weeks at least on do not let Roger set you up and get outside watch the clip that's not a cliff that's a good block the clip took place a little bit later on down there with Roger try to show it to you again in a minute stall back us back to past Sammy's got a lot of time start back out of bounds 31 [Music] you know something he is really he has really come a long way and we're going with not to challenge people here he's trying to get back a new house just takes Andy Russell right on through that was the flavor poor now we're back to second down after a scramble by Starr back he still has 17 to go for first and white white and Jack ham took him out of bounds not an enviable position I would like to be trying to pick up a 17 yards particularly all at once second down for the Cowboys things have quieted down considerably the call on the draw play with nowhere to go they fell for perhaps a yard Lambert and ham we're close by and Dwight white Steelers right now their defensive unit I think is really taking it to the Cowboys you ask Robert Newhouse he's getting arrest because of it Dallas began this game like they were going to try every play that had ever been diagrammed on any black board but they become very conservative just thirty seconds left in the third period they still lead Dallas does shotgun see how much time he has a lot but Dennison wait a minute it's Pearson passing downs are his down male plant on the stop Pearson's carting nine passes in the last two playoff games the big paid about the shop gutter spread is you get five receivers downfield right now star back as a longer look at him that's the end of the third quarter of Super Bowl 10 with the score Dallas 10 Pittsburgh 7 forward from your local state proceeding announcement was brought to you as a public service on behalf of the National Football League went down for Dallas at the Orange Bowl and Mitch ups is in the game you know he was born the year I broke into professional football he's young so are you you think you good dick is fair bounces handled by the Steelers I think Pittsburgh got it back yes they did Dave Brown tried to handle it 36 yard kick from hopes Dallas almost got another break leave Kyle Davis and Edwards were down there to crack him rather early again those pictures that you've been seeing from above the Orange Bowl from the Goodyear blimp and by the way the trend has been working with us for years Jim Newcombe PR man what I'll be able to get that played on the ground and I thought wind's blowing pretty hard Bradshaw back to pass wide open at Harris out-of-bounds back at the 40-yard line he was gone wasn't he Michael me if he is no just in case super throw by Terry Bradshaw off the wrong leg like a single weak tailback that's this guy here behind Dallas defense Gregory's putting pressure on there goes Harvey after him now he puts it away now watch this throw off the wrong leg and right on the money in Franco just go step out right in front of his own and he did he just did step on the wife and of course is out of bounds want to see it again watch this parents there's his foot that abound right there a legal catch because he took two steps in bounds 26 yard pickup for the Steelers after the Dallas 43 after their own 43 Bradshaw Afghanistan arrow down deep covered by mail or impro but he had a step it's all worth is deceiving six to a hundred and eighty-five once a super post pattern which he just ran and cowboys did a lot of single solo coverage right now they're keeping people under but bradshaw's frequency was right he was open and he's simply missed him that wind that we've been talking about throughout the afternoon looks right now as if it's at the back of the Steelers sometimes it's hard to tell from up here at swirls second and ten the Pittsburgh hit as soon as he got the ball hit hard by a jet throw fuel and tempers are starting to flare just a little bit on both sides Nora saying hey let's quiet it down a little bit now we're going to get the three-man rush Pat we've got Randy wife here rookie all-america the number one draft a lot of number-one draft choices but remember Dallas did not get here with rookies they got here with the veteran ballclub they got six linebackers in the game right now Pittsburgh's third down efficiency is 6 for 12 that's the situation they face right now Randy white Jason Bradshaw Oh got him look play by Randy white [Applause] number 54 runs a 4 640 and think about that he weighs 2 5 oh and he's Aubrey but watch white again remember Bradshaw is a very very quick water back steps up to the left of your screen Randi misses him and now watch the recovery look out Terry Gregory of course number 77 came over to help out so Bobby Walden kicks it into the cedar lineup to punt good snap Dallas trying to set up a return but walden really got hold of this way Richards handle gets away from Garrett so far [Applause] can't get quite around the corner chased by Davis and out of bounds by Sam Davis 57-yard punt off the toe of Bobby Walden you know there was a real good play on that because had Billy Joe Dupree made the block for him it would have been a clip and then the Dallas Cowboys would have been in the hole they leave by three [Music] Gallus tan pittsburgh seven they made here is the Cowboys got to get some offensive something going they better get these Steelers off their back in their deep their own territory and Pittsburgh has ballooned this last year 13 minutes 11 seconds left in the football game as Roger Staubach has a first down throwback to lodger nobody opened and he why's they tucked it away they didn't fool anybody they were looking for Drew Pearson way down the far sideline but JT Thomas was right there right for stride again remember that Roger can take the lateral here he is from a regular t he hands it off legally now takes the flea-flicker back for Preston but I'll tell you some JT had Drew Pearson covered all the way good play by Starr back that's Bell blunt covering golden Richards if you can call it that that's exactly what I call it beautifully played beautiful execution second down for Dallas in motion the handoff goes to Kinnison he does nothing Steve furnace and Mike Wagner stealer down for now are getting penetration LT Greenwood done did not pleased that young lady but they are beginning their really so go over the top right now and so it becomes third down watch this golden Richards gonna try to get even acid so far they're just trying to get each other's attention I guess I think they got it a third down play no shift this time they just line up in the shotgun pretty nice right with him Holmes took a shot and Miss Greenwood and white took him down and purred in Dallas is in trouble right now I think big factory you're right the big factor Ernie Holmes number 63 who just patted Roger really made the big penetration early Pittsburgh was turned on [Applause] so Chuck told their head coach h-help will have to punt against the wind this time back by himself is Glenn Edwards for the Steelers hopes standing at his own goal line Gallus leads at ten seven with eleven forty left now in the fourth period [Applause] they try to block it [Applause] safety locked by Reggie Harrison fingers close to within one and Dallas will have to give up the football [Applause] right up the middle came Reggie Harrison a backup running back for the University of Cincinnati anime and zone of course is an automatic safety look to me like that whoops took a lot of time getting that when placed on the foot but kicking from the two yard line watch it again [Applause] here you can see it took a lot of time the rookie from Arizona really laid that one down almost deliberately luckily it went out of the end zone course if it had stayed in and the Steelers had recovered it would have been a touchdown but is it flew out of the end zone it's an automatic safety its Dallas ten Pittsburgh nine now they get the free kick but again you give up the football and get it and I've never seen our safety that didn't result in something awful for the team that had it happened to Mitch humps now and come across the 20-yard line they choose to punt of course because you can't use a tee otherwise they might place ticket here goes house it'll hang up there a long time Collier takes it up to 30 something going here Xavier plants to the 45-yard line of Dallas stop by Bob trimming but the Steelers are floating right now all right Pat I've been in this situation before in a championship game right now the pressure on the defense is almost unbearable you don't want to make the one big play no cross to the game and therefore you sometimes don't gamble enough and play your normal deep in the Cowboys it gotta have the best thing because it says of maybe their lives well just outside the 45 in Dallas Territory Bradshaw second down Cowboys go to the Flex looking to go to the outside gets away from Warren and gets about five on his own but notice how the pursuit did not get there you're right behind the Dallas defense Leroy's doctor Jordan has already gone to cover this big fella makes it look so easy this is not a dumby scrimmage play that's Franco Harris I guess the Dallas Cowboys eris now 20 carries for 69 yards is Brett's your bricks amount in a hurry second and four why artists to call this Miami Heat [Music] offensive line for the Steelers again really popping off the ball watch Franco block alright he returns the favor flier does it for him a lot let's watch Franco Harris he's here complete football player and in a shabby block good job knock on DD Lewis Dallas one-point lead look shaky right now looking on third and about a foot Nick Scherr tells you the story of what he's thinking careful on short yardage defenses that's our ticket no chance did to Harris and again he gets outside flip Harris takes him out of bound it got the first down with less to spare shows you how fast he is no path actually Mel rental and a good chance to see you on the outside and tackling if Franco gets beyond you so quickly you just misjudge of speed look at Mel Renfro right all right he got rid of the block by blonde with Harris just can't get up there quickly iron Harris who locked so well for each other if the Steelers are first down inside the Dallas 30 [Applause] [Music] place to go this time at Jones the first man to hit him and I mean hit it Jethro sort of spotty flyer around and hung him up too tall finished him off Mullins into the game [Music] Cullens plays right guard Davis plays left guard both speed receivers Swan and stalwart split wide to the right for Bradshaw on second and long he's gotta throw gonna take off with it himself Bradshaw fumbles out of bounds still Steeler ball well he's strong he ran right through DD Lewis didn't make any more yardage but he wasn't giving himself up at all watch this now the max go left foot close and he goes right the linebackers have dropped off to help Petey hit him a good shot little mark Washington he walked right through both on about a nine yard pickup for Bradshaw on that run Chuck Noll with instructions to Swan as he puts an extra tight end into the game and takes Swan out earlene one nine minutes to play Bradshaw was out of bounds to that fumbles - the clock is stopped Harris collide but Harris still got the first down or very very close to it look at Terry Bradshaw he's making contact with Saddam many people maybe he thought Franco was on the other side with Harris it's giving the ball in get lost indication from the Steeler offensive unit that they did not get the first down it's about a foot short Chuck Noll has indicated no Lloyd girona not this time let's go for it now Bradshaw asked him to measure 8 minutes 54 seconds left in the game Super Bowl 10 started off with a bang both teams with big plays in the first period since then it's become a defensive battle that's absolutely the reason we have not seen scoring though I have never seen a game with so many great defensive plays when they had to be made by just one it's 10 to 9 gorilla has missed twice already and ironically from this same distance 26 yard 36 when you add the extra tin for the goalposts being back but that was at the other end of the field were like the swirling wind if Lori misses this one he may not go back to Pittsburgh [Applause] this time he doesn't well Dallas ten Troy gorilla finally accepting congratulations gives his team the lead as they tried to win their second consecutive Super Bowl it's 4:12 Dallas ten criteria set to kickoff for the Pittsburgh Steelers who have just taken away well chin on his field goal Denison and Pierson deep for Dallas he got it back wisely Calvin Peterson though the young linebacker backed into Pierson and Preston took his eyes off the ball what do you say to a young man just get away from it I had the guys supposed to bring it back as a result Cowboys get the ball at their own 15-yard line at eight minutes and 32 seconds left in the game Pittsburgh 12 Dallas 10 has not been able to do much on offense to the entire second half total office so far in fact is just 159 yards before Roger Staubach behind for the first time [Applause] whether down to the 5-yard line whoa the name of the game is defense their swagger for interceptions this year third lowest number 66 dragging his right arm the Steelers and that defensive unit turn it over again there it goes lawless and you know Wagner backed off on it let Roger throw the ball down the middle then he came charging there's no doubt about coverage he was going for the ball watch this now watch law was setting up for him he's the one that got hurt Wagner's heading for the goal line really heading in that direction inside the ten down to about the six first and goal pittsburgh flyer to the four stopped by a Jones to Paris watch that play develop alright you're in close now there's Jeff low key to trying to get through to tall is really held off good job Michael hell there's a lot of contact here Rocky Bleier is thrilled boy I'll tell you the Cowboys are in trouble [Applause] eat up on Minnesota in last year's Super Bowl now they're doing it to Dallas Bradshaw looks for the outside that Shawn to the to Leroy Jordan that Jones topped him actually he's close to the one-yard line I'll tell you bad knee and all Bradley aren't quick watch him he liked to bootleg and stayed all the way to the side and cut off almost killed right here you can see the eyes have no info on it he's a wedding quarterback make no mistake the block for him and now it's third and goal for Bradshaw on the Steeler offensive unit mr. Harris got a try another field goal now cowboy defensive unit equal to the occasion they recovered I think to 12 Jones is the one that sort of strips him of it but even Mark Washington the secondary man is in there let's see who comes across Leroy George and the ball is a line look at this comes right back to Franco Harris recovered his own fumble now jerel Oh with Walden holy tEEN TOP is good again fifteen to ten now Genoa after missing two has made two now which we should add a little caution OPEC because the Cowboys came back against the bike the last point fifteen to ten Pittsburgh leaves at eat men for Dallas duck Denison on the left Preston Pearson on the right Roy guerilla to kick off for the Stevie now boys we'll get it back with just over six and a half minutes Romania I kick in the direction of Pearson back up the middle he goes hard regi Harrison locked up utterly earth does a good job on the special Jean Randi Grossman helped out on the jacket we can't give Reggie the MVP in a Super Bowl but he's got a head here it does it's a can of Defense goes up to the Steeler contention of fans at the Orange Bowl in Super Bowl 10 J on the opposite side line now we don't have to replay what happened up in Bloomington Minnesota or even get into what some people think the controversy but they pull them out before a wild-card team in the finals has that really something going for him they've got to be careful on defense they've got the ball at their own 24 yard line first down missed it caught from behind my Steve furnace Dallas a very good screening team they got about five yards on that Roger didn't get the ball to Newhouse quite as quickly as he wanted to he was being very deliberate but the ball stayed up there a long time and I think Robert could almost feel jack hey I'm coming yeah watch this now they play it pretty well they're almost actively a block in the line of scrimmage we'll watch the ball just sort of hang barely get over Greenwood now Newhouse is that a little bit of traffic that he didn't particularly what in the last series Mike Mike is loose and chasing Roger they finally did though LLC Greenwood Ernie Holmes and furnace all in the active chase first all back now white sorta injured his ankle on that plays walking it off watch how quickly he shows me they just lost the block Rogers somehow pull this one off now the former midshipmen's got a little bit of a problem rolling now Preston Pearson and Charles young are the running backs for Dallas passing situations that's the combo they like third and 15 though they don't like shotgun [Applause] but they've got a swarm on him before he gets a first down and Dallas will have to kick well I'll tell you that Pittsburgh secondary is banging every receiver whether they catch the ball or not again Roger waited a long time to hit his safety valve Charlie young in the flat he was open all the way from the formations together Greenwood and Lambert involving a tackle that looks like it could be true Pierson it's hurt Glenn Edwards I thought whenever we're talking pretty hard and golden is down that is golden Richards and not through Pearson we're the receivers sometimes are looking for places to go and a belligerent secondary can catch a guy when he's looking back for the quarterback I think that's what happened to golden but he's been fighting with at least one of the guys most of the afternoon fighting with Mel Blount for the most part well you know the Pittsburgh secondary is at the right age they're all five year veterans or six the perfect time to play excellent secondary I want to the left of your screen your circle is okay to follow it Lynne Edwards working think golden is pinned to the map it's hurt too let's see what happens on this the official did not drop a play at any rate golden Richards is still down Tom Landry is still concerned they lost their regular starting tight in gene Fugate in the first half and he hasn't come back Billy Joe Dupree has been the tight end ever since well if that last play doesn't look like maybe there should have been a flag involved I think what both people are exchanging that way it's it's pretty much you know who ends up on the deck obviously the Super Bowl champion coach didn't mind it Rodgers not even going to get the fourth down play they'd kind of kick it stop ax arm skin by the other official surface the Orange Bowl and Franco Harris on the other side of the field looking on golden Richards by the way is up down and being assisted from the field still talking to some members of the Pittsburgh secondary prepare here Fitzgerald and Ralf Neely of course better than from Oklahoma tell you that little fella from away right there golden Richards has really been the big play fella you hear a lot about through Pierson but this young man actually started them back in just a trip Dallas would even be here Dallas is going to have to punt with four minutes and 50 seconds left in the football game Richards to the sidelines now back deep for the Steelers Glenn Edwards and Dave Brown [Music] this time hangs it very high Edwards is going to run almost around the corner gets outside the 30 and fret Sean his route bounding a couple of first downs 47 yard kick tackle made by Kyle Davis who snapped the ball the clock tells you the story it's Pittsburgh 15 Dallas 10 all right you used to room with Charlie Conerly what's the quarterback thinking now against the defense what are you not trying to do as the Pittsburgh quarterback I'm thinking about not throwing an interception not turning it over at this time without getting too conservative he gets to Harris Harris is stopped after about to buy Jethro Pugh I'm still running 410 left on a clock down that's how much left in the game that's how many seconds the Steelers have to steal before they become the third team to win back-to-back Super Bowl championships Dallas will be tackling the football second down Pittsburgh down Harris again gets the call met in the hole by Leroy Jordan yet Jones also assisted they need about five for a clutch first down right here I guess if you had to pivot the entire game what you can't do you had to pivot on one play I would say this one is a big one a large play third down and five right on the button packed house at the Orange Bowl from the beginning is still here Harris five carries now for 82 yards he carried 34 times last year at all here's Pat saw bothered for behind Lynn Swann is open got it Steeler touchdown Washington will the Cowboys have to safety zone 64 yard touchdown pass from Bradshaw the lens lon is down Bradshaw is down but he threw the ball about 65 yards and he threw it at oh now he's on his feet he's got a long time to rest up that's got to be one of the great passes in Super Bowl history or in pro football history Dallas had a blitz going all right he does not like to play fast and what difference does it make now gets a run by Mel Renfro me Lynn Swann does it again Washington's there he's in the wake of Stephanie Swan has now caught four passes for a hundred and sixty-one yards Bobby Walden to hold it Bradshaw on the sideline [Applause] no good no good the foot of roy gerela it hits the left upright so it's 2110 it's starting to leave the booth to go to the winning dressing room the Goodyear blimp so kind to us all day and as Tommy goes down to what looks like it'll be the Pittsburgh locker room a new man puts on the headset the guy who has been in these situations a lot of time welcome Hank Stram [Music] here's that last catch hang get behind in good shape the ball is thrown right over the shoulder perfectly terrific concentration by Swan and of course he makes the reception goes all the way in for the score that is a Super Bowl mark by the way the four catches for a hundred and sixty-one yards by Swan the old record set 1967 by max Magee just going to go deep in the end zone Andrew Pearson just downs it there Preston Pearson I beg your pardon there's Terry Bradshaw his work has been done you Tom Henderson shaken up on the kickoff and Terry Hanratty starts to loosen his shoulders now they'll try to use up as much time as they possibly can I'm sure that next time they get possession the preliminary report on Bradshaw is that it appears to be a Kentucky had a bad knee coming in but he is holding the back of his head so I guess confession is right that's the book on Fran Shawn for the day this is the one position that you don't like to be in against the Pittsburgh Steelers and if they have to throw the ball consistently because they do such a great job of rushing that password to young golden Richards did not come back by the way Percy Howard is the other wide receiver firstly number 81 you think Dallas started to go conservative too soon coach as you watch the game you had the fitting that they were sitting on that very small lead and that's always disaster ready because especially when you're a great offensive team like they are they do a lot of things roll offensive when they seemingly got away from the pattern that they normally execute basket piercing out of cowboy bench they threw they threw very seldomly on first down for example here's a shot from the shotgun 30-yard pick up gives the Cowboys a first down a trail by 11 Jake Thomas on the coverage right there yes and the receiver knew exactly where he was kept his feet inbounds and a big play for Dallas so Rodgers start back now going back to the air picks up a first down and it's eight seconds left as Pearson went out of bounds there goes Bradshaw possible concussion shotgun for Dallas again outside caught by Pearson this time Preston Pearson Andy Russell closest Bradshaw quite an athlete great tribute to a great athlete ready the way he played out here this afternoon a tremendous competitor he really makes it happen that he felt very exciting player here's that last completion comes Pierson that's Howard that's Pierson out of bounds with the catch first down Dallas they stopped the clock again in the two minutes three seconds to go Howard left Pearson right [Music] back from behind by flight flight so double the outside receivers that time and the only one that had a chance was a tight end and they had him faded pretty well too so with that sack Firestar back if you could call it that the two-minute warning is given to both sides Pittsburgh 21 Dallas 10th Pat Summerall with Hank Stram now as Tom Brookshire has gone to the winning locker room which now looks like it will be the locker room of the Pittsburgh Steelers for the second year in a row however coach if you look at that scoreboard the time left it's not over yet it's a long way from being over is a lot of time is your mission and then at 56 seconds score a touchdown in this bride but they hope to get back into this game back looking deep and going deep in appearance [Applause] look got tangled up [Music] 34-yard touchdown past our commercial see if we get a picture of the it looked like there was definitely pass interference on Blount look but it doesn't make any difference in skill you don't see it let's go back and look it again and see if we can here's another shot of it there's Percy Howard when two men look worst the time than it actually was all right yeah you just went by blunt yes he does look back Chris it's the extra point with waters holding well they're back in Venice yes search 21 17 Roger Staubach just hoping that his defensive unit can get the ball back with 148 left in this game it's Pittsburgh 21 Dallas 17 right now I guess our crew that's going to do the postgame show better stand in between the locker rooms not to either play that's right Dallas has that much time left and of course those who the Steelers think an onside kick right here of course I watched Pittsburgh in the workouts yesterday and they worked on onside kicks just over and over and over again especially after Oakland was successful against them funny thing about an onside kick is the ball bounce is so funny that a lot of times you just don't know regards it ricochets off a Pittsburgh player or takes a funny mouse you know how the practice in the world doesn't do any good I guess the best thing you can do to in a situation like that is say don't try to pick it up just get on top of it just play sure you fall on nothing right that's difficult to here's fresh ready to go onside kick dumps this way made sure that time as Jerry Mullins had picked it up number 72 they had him in there because although he's an offensive guard tackle or whatever he still got two good hands that kick took a perfect bounce ready for Fitchburg and it was very easy to handle it which was very obvious as Ben Roberts tenor and what a job he's done in the midst of all a confusion and hoopla that goes on able job as always by safety Grossman a lot of distractions for all of us those two guys have been super to [Applause] Terry Hanratty is the Pittsburgh quarterback at 47 still on the clock Harris just hoping to hang on to the ball and it's all a timeout Leroy Jordan the captain signals timeout also like to give credit to the bills free oh it's done such a great job spotting and jib trouser who's handled the statistics so well Dallas burns a timeout as you would expect a minute 41 seconds left on the scoreboard clock Jordan goes over to talk to Landry he's got some words for Staubach first 1:17 to score Steelers were a found a touchdown favorite they got behind early to Dallas but their defense kept putting the squeeze on the cowboy offensive unit there's no question about the fact that the Pittsburgh was undoubtedly one of the fine defensive teams that's played in the National Football League for a long long time right just terrific don't forget coming up as soon as we're through here let's go to the locker room as soon as the game is over it's the timeout situation go to the locker rooms for a big postgame show and then we'll join the final round of the Phoenix open now second down for the Steelers Terry Hanratty the quarterback with Meyer and Harris the running back [Applause] [Music] Paris swings to the outside Cowboys can't care the ball loose they tried to Jones and Martin the two defensive ends Chuck no looking on third down and ten now Dallas has used another timeout they have one left in Hanratty this time comes over to talk to know would be surprised to see myself have a wife play that use up as much time as possible and ready hasn't had too much playing time over the course of the year Chuck toll obviously just saying hang on to it whatever you do don't take any chances third down ten for the Steelers do anything that might stop the clock you might be able to capitalize on 2117 Pittsburgh over Dallas Superbowl Tim looks like they might run to the left where they're lined up Dallas uses its last timeout Jethro Pugh and Leroy Jordan Rocky Bleier the ball carrier and Dallas will get another chance with no timeouts left if you come on you don't suppose they'll try to pop this kick [Applause] [Music] they probably have everybody's like the coaching staff going after this cake here comes hand ready back in the game and looks like they're not going to kick I'm gonna try to run up and run out as much time as they can yeah it is fourth down got about eight yards to go a minute 28 seconds left in Super Bowl ten [Applause] we're going to run right this time looks like where they're lined up here they come they come with wire to the right [Applause] minute 22 seconds offensive unit of course hustles onto the field Andy Russell Pittsburgh Steeler defensive captain says come on let's go 22 seconds still left on the clock the Steelers 21 Cowboys 17 Dallas ball at their own 38 yard line a long way to go with no timeouts left they got to work the sidelines no question about it scoreboard clock is official by the way the Cowboys have to feel good about the way things work out in that last series because they got much sure to feel the work from then they would have had they kicked that's when we're going to ask Joel about right away start back for the shotgun he doesn't father picked it up on the hop try to get out of pounds I think no they didn't he got a first down close to midfield I'm Joseph Bennett ten left and still running the Cowboys hustle back the steelers obviously won't do that you know if you get that time was open in the middle they're double on the outside people looks like the pie tin or the banks might have an opportunity in the seams if there's any complete one here on this Brian fifty seconds left as we start this place star back handles the most nap again everybody down Fiona coverage Roger throwed Pearson did not get out of bound to let straight ahead 40 seconds left on the clock down down to the Steeler 37 yard line you know Buda tussle back at that time Billy Joe Dupree was wide open down the middle but Roger didn't see him now the ball gets loose and the clock is stopped now he started again does norm Schechter with 25 seconds left in the shotgun he'll get it with 20 seconds to go [Applause] got 12 seconds left on the clock true Pierson was covered by Clint effort [Music] yeah good thinking on his part he had good presence because had he not thrown the ball he probably bought all the time that he had left but he stopped the clock at the play with 12 seconds left in the clock low snap from the center John Fitzgerald almost caused complete disaster almost caused the game to be over 12 seconds on the scoreboard clock possibly time for two but no more ways to that at the Pittsburgh 38 Roger Staubach with perhaps the last play of this year good snap this time freemen rush hi hi get it for Howard up hill in the end zone it's a jump ball in the end zone three seconds more yep that's the only thing to do you got one more shot just like that hoping a prayer something like that maybe hope jump them maybe you hope for a ricochet that's right or hopefully maybe a pass interference too bad he doesn't have are co-linear for him that's what he needs yeah the old alley you motors Taylor are Otis Taylor was ready to jump on keeping people and getting making that kind of a play we liked it to throw him on a one-on-one situation look at that last play that last jump ball receivers really have to have excellent concentration and that kind of play - just in case of ricochets so they can get it on the rebound this most certainly the last play of Super Bowl ten unless we have a penalty stall back pumps fires that's all picked off in the endzone by Ken Edwards and he's going to bring it out this one is over Edwards is down at the 28 years of Super Bowls come to an end with Pittsburgh I repeat champion if he been a suitor last year and now they have defeated the Dallas Cowboys coached by Tom Landry it's a great complement to both teams to play in this game and of course a terrific complement to Chuck Noland to Pittsburgh Steelers it's difficult to win it the first time that as you know but even more difficult to come back and win at the second time so it's a great compliment to these people the confusion of course as Pittsburgh hits for their locker room and a client of what the Dallas dressing room would be like and so for Tom Brookshire thanks for them this is Pat Summerall saying again the final score at Super Bowl Tim Pittsburgh 21 Dallas 17
