tell you I tossed and turned last night it is not just another football game Pat you and I will try to treat it that way it's going to have the humorous moments but now it's up to the player now lights outside linebacker spot number 59 Jack ham Jack Lambert in the middle Andy Russell on the right outside linebacker spot and now the defensive secondary left cornerback number 24 JT Thomas the right cornerback number 47 Melbourne the left safety number 23 is Mike Wagner the right safety number 27 Glenn Edwards and I'll cut Chuck know and the rest of the Pittsburgh Steelers and producing now play darn near ended it like about second and 15 now for Dallas that play lost five ball back close to midfield Justin still a territory now stall back gets them maybe two maybe three earn a home Joe Greene the rest of the Steeler defense on the bottom of the pile Andy Russell - defensively Joe Greene is in there Elsie green would've made that first tackle is it left in Ernie Holmes who's a penetrator in fact the entire Pittsburgh defense is basic but extremely physical that time they tried to finesse Joe Greene a little bit and notice number 75 he'll really crowd Fitzgerald he sets up any kind of inside action right on the center's shoulder pad roll but father I'm here to Tommy and the shotgun Fitzgerald was a good snap this time home got loose passed down the middle incomplete Pittsburgh is about an 80% run team to the right they're working against the defensive line you see right here that time on the first play they also went against the grain and that's where Franco though has broken some big plays in the past they're the linebackers and Leroy was handled by Rocky Bleier who can really block the secondaries come on for that let's play much better than they did earlier in the year limbs long splits out to the right for the Steelers he will start in Paris an 8 yard pickup on that first and carry so it's second issue for the Steelers [Music] Dallas secondary right up the middle now stick in back with Harris that helped from water watch it again let's take a look at the trap blocking inside right now you're gonna see Cobb come down from the outside and really take Jeff throw few out and buss block Rocky Bleier it a pretty good Oh let's watch it now watch the left guard and go straight on here comes the outside coming down on the inside trap Jeff have running in mine again they're very basic why are supposed to be the blocker but we might recall behind this offensive line which is not super on the individual basis but before they played away have to tell him I'll tell you Franco Harris is the best big running back in football maybe to Tommy to Beck's best big game running back in football to playoffs he's incredible extra tight end into Harris is slow getting up now this is what Franco likes to do he's trying to actually probably get off the tackle the Cowboys seal it off beautifully you can see that now he goes outside again the Super Bowls and all nine times before this one the team that scored the first touchdown in the game went on to win it Dallas leads seven nothing Tony French had just kicked off for Dallas Mike Collier number 44 winds up with it now it fell blunt and what gets outside the 30 good return what looked like it might be disaster let's look back at the Dallas touchdown again I Pat watch Lambert now and watch the favor by Roger Staubach don't get a chance to see quarterbacks fake very well this is a good one because Lambert stops for just a moment checks number 58 and doesn't drop back and look for everybody can play it he cuts back inside and maybe that takes more out of a defense than anything watch Leroy Jordan the problem right away they know what it is but everybody overruns it and the Steelers make sure Franco Harris now with eight carries for 42 yards at the dallas 45 bradshaw outside stores at the mall there are V Martin really put the clamp good play by mail Renfro number 20 we've been watching him for fear that you might not be able to run on those bad feet this is just a pitch to John Stoll don't watch to the right of your screen I don't have to describe it I can feel tell you if you're a football fan and I guess you almost have to be to be able to watch this but the linebackers the outside linebackers and mr. Lambert the middle that's got to be the best troika maybe in this game in a long time Jack ham is incredible and Andy Russell has done everything that pumped the ball is up for Art Rooney and Lambert in the middle is savage something you pointed out before that perhaps Joe green was not his normal self might be proved by Chuck dole right now because Steve Burness is that he makes a tackle for Pittsburgh draw back throws outside caught Doug Tennyson not quite a first down well I'll tell you Roger Staubach though is so cool now watch how he doesn't desert the pass the pass blocking and run with it there had to be a Tennessee here because Furness the minute you mentioned number 64 gets good pressure on the double-team block but Roger doesn't bolt and run him throws it off the wrong leg line Bradshaw fired Harris this time dallas seals the middle pretty well but again Charlie waters the safety man had to come up and help on the tackle Pittsburgh feel so confident of their rushing game they just don't throw the ball on first down very much and I guess the cliche you got to get someone first down is important but Bradshaw just does not like to throw him first now there's Hardy Martin he goes inside all right play by DD Lewis the linebacker who got back and got a hand on the ball let's take a look the Cowboys try a twist Martin is going inside this is not a very good defensive stunt nobody really made penetration quickly and if you stunt and don't quite make it you're vulnerable that time Harvey Martin was good play by D D and L Renfro looked like he might have receivers really have to have excellent concentration and that kind of play - just in case of ricochets so they can get it on the rebound this most certainly the last play of Super Bowl ten unless we with Pittsburgh I repeat champion if he been a suitor last year and now they have defeated the Dallas Cowboys coached by Tom Landry it's a great complement to both teams to play in this game and of course a terrific complement to Chuck Noland to Pittsburgh Steelers it's difficult to win it the first time that as you know but even more difficult to come back and win at the second time so it's a great compliment to these people the confusion of course as Pittsburgh hits for their locker room and a client of what the Dallas dressing room would be like and so for Tom Brookshire thanks for them
