Sunset Seascape

i'm bill alexander the father and the finder of the magic of oil painting ah there we got it today i want to paint the sunset sunset now sun says we talk about the sunset i would like to have some powerful colors in that a sunset can come from this side can come from that side can come from the back can come from the front and i think from the front is the most diffic when it comes to what's hue is most difficult let's do that and i would like to paint it over maybe part of the ocean with the stones with the shoreline and with a couple you know a couple of side movements of stones coming in and that's the finished painting again i fire off the magic the magic white fires right on the canvas fire right on the canvas it is nice when you can talk like that because then it's more oomph in it and you're not standing still there we are put the magic right on put the magic right on the canvas has to be slippery in all the time the artist would put oil on wet in wet and i invented the magic white because i know every paint is mixed with white every paint so why not putting the paint that white already on the canvas and mix into the canvas see what i do now i will mix into that white i could have a bit of a brush brush here on it okay too much no good not enough no good i showed you how you do it you put the magic right on wash the brush into the paint dinner make sure you have a nice clean brush nice clean brush and a nice dry brush see look at that right into that almighty rattle box that gets the dirt out now i got the clean brush go over the whole canvas like this see there you are upside down and down set up so that's good then wash out your colors again the divide again and now i'm ready to strike that is just enough magic white but i should have see otherwise i would mix on my palette this is the mixing table i would mix the colors and every color you mix has to have white you cannot make blue bluer or van dyke brown more brown or red more red or yellow more yellower but you pull it all in with white you pull it all in with white why we mix here if i can mix there you see now i want to have a sunset and i will say this is the sun start off with that this is the sun dancing right into the water good around the sun leave the don't wash that paint out put a touch of red in and go around it go just around it and the next step will be i use alizarin crimson take a look how i do that see there you are fine with alizarin crimson that means darker lighter lighter more alice and crimson see and now time you have already a sunset more alizarin crimson that will be a real reddish rare sunset fired right into the water fires right into the water see now you got the sun and you put a dot in that corner here and you've signed your name and you got the modern painting beautiful okay no no no no no no i'm not so bad i'm not so bad i'm not so bad now we have to bring that all together watch see bring that all together i will use a touch of blue and it will start off from the top with the touch of blue to get a bit of dark clouds in there see is it's good it's harmless that glue does good and move it in from the side with alizarin crimson move it in from the side now watch this here light on light nothing and nothing is nothing in order to get that light i got to put lots of dark round man has not made the color a human being has not made a color but captures sunlight or daylight so we have to create illusion in order to create that light see this is nothing all nothing and nothing is nothing i you watch how that light comes up with what i do i put dark round then that becomes light see watch this more dark i push around as more dark i push around as more light can you see how it gets lighter can you see that see fire fired right into the side there fires right in there and you come right closer closer closer get it lighter lighter lighter light the lighter the fire runner on the side with the touch of flesh and blue fire then let it come lighter lighter lighter lighter again here a little bit more blue let's get lighter lighter lighter lighter lighter you know all that becomes lighter here because i put more dark all around no more see more hey more more what i do now i condition my canvas i condition my canvas condition my canvas now we will find our happy little sunshine and now there's a lot of blue up there and we all know yellow and blue turns green see so i have to watch that now you wash your brush now you fire in with yellow again fire in there see but watch here you have to watch i told you see how it already would love to get blue green there watch that and if it turns green if you come let me show you a little trick here that's for the newcomers now if you want to have a bit more don't use yellow you can use yellow here but there i would use red with yellow the the red is your protection the red that gives you it will not it will not get green but if i use yellow there i will show you i show you what you shouldn't do as a sample i do it on purpose for you to understand especially for the newcomers if you use yellow you think you're doing good here and me still lots of light and i can it's dangerous there but it's not bad see i shouldn't have done it i show you what you should do all the time there's only one way and that's the right wife watch this into the yellow and you fire in here and you walk off and you walk off and you walk off and don't ever come back if you come back you would have that what i showed you i better not show you you would have that you see i did before i will try to kill that there arm is won by a clean brush a clean brush red and the touch of yellow and now all around the sun see beautiful wash your brush is a constantly wash your brush i remember on my classes those ladies when they came to the class they all expected to sit down and they all expected to just paint with colors and i always had to tell them when you come to me first you are a brush washer and then you become the artist it was hard to explain that see constantly watch okay see the dirt i went from here to there and that is what it says don't do that wash your brush especially on the sunset where you have to have a very clean color constantly you swing that brush again nice even now i will i will add a touch of white watch this now i go to the light i want to have more sunshine see so but right here it becomes blah it needs that power it needs that red it's only yellow and white in the middle that's good but white is no good if you go out here you see this here it needs a bit of umpa isn't it needs a bit of a red there you see what it does right away it powers up there get rid of that but i would love to do here on the bottom i would like to have a touch attach the we say the sun is just over the water a little bit higher like here and the water line starts here somewhere so i would love to put a little bit of this in there yellow green a little touch of yellow green a little touch of yellow green see a little touch of taylor green there like it is bouncing on the water see i make it bouncing it's bouncing on the water there here the colors are popping up see that's like the mist mist from mother earth missed from mother earth here i spoil this already a bit more the taylor green yes the tail green is nice there constantly wash your brush see there again kind of a mother earth gives you that kind of a now let's see let's see more red more red in here and here and here and here and here and here and there oh that's good now constantly wash your brush see now i will hypnotize the whole thing and then we will see how good and how bad we are but when you hypnotize don't come back again see this you go from the light into the dark wash your brush i hate to show you that again now maybe here i can watch you see that's what i had if i put that on there i would go back to nothing so it's always one way of doing it and that is the mighty wide the right way clean the brush got the clean brush whistle and firing again formed in the light into the dark more here more here you can work walk around on top there's no problem but i cannot come back see that the dirt i would put in there i will not do it okay now i will use my almighty fan brush my almighty fan brush and we'll use a bit of white let see how i take it off take white and a touch of yellow white and the touch of yellow now that's the best color i can have fired into the sun and again go around and see clean your brush i need some paint dinner i got to run away i'm sorry i need some more paint in there because i wash so much my brush you need a lot of paint dinner with my almighty fan brush in here see now again white and yellow white take a good look here white and yellow that paint is nice and solid and that makes it nice it stands up good you can blend you can hypnotize without that paint i would not be here really oh fire in the sun there you know that sun can run in there that sound can run in there now we will create we will create i'm not too happy with with this mist i wish it would be a bit more it would be a bit more this color this color when you're not happy don't go for that this is better i i want to believe it's for my eyes it does better it's good it just hypnotizes together there see now i will create a water line the brightest is here i would say here here that's where the water line is you don't have to be a straight line you just you just can let it disappear into nothing let it disappear into yonder nothing again white and yellow take a look i think the yellow take a good look here see there you are and have the brush nice fall see and i go still the sun is first for the sun is the brightest always start up there because the the paint on the canvas gets into your brush and makes your canvas your brush dirty and you know sometimes i just wash it off like this and put new paint on new paint on and maybe here we create kind of an extra there so the next step i will form some waves it's a little bit of a happy breeze going over the ocean there here i made i made the other side a little bit of not the let let it fly a bit let it fly up a little bit so on the horizon line you see the the water is flying a little bit makes it nice so what i will create a kind of uh oh we say here here here here here here see more red here pull it off like this pull it up like this think the sun is coming from the back and that water is standing up and upstanding water builds a shadow especially in the evening it builds almighty little happy shadow there see see and let it become go like this that's fine again make it better here bit more powerful then here watch what i do here i come back to the sunshine i will use the touch of yellow let me show you something here yellow go over here and attach of taylor green and that gives you a poison color look at that green is it green you think when you eat it you die see now i would say in the sun in the sun in the sun i just and after sun see wash your brush see water has water has this kind of uh kind of uh see can you see this color see because that dark underneath darkens it up anyway see but i would like to have it all in not in in the peace i'll lose i'll lose lose that water is dancing there in that distance and go off off then here it disappears already but into the sun i would like to build a little bit that that turquoise like swimming pools or like water water feelings is always something like this see then you can you can pull it out let it disappear right into the canvas again nice so that's the shadow underneath no you you you in the sun the sun is absolutely on top of that wave so again see i take white take a good look here and yellow and fire that almighty sunshine right into that wave here and off and off and off and often off and off with your dirty dirty darker darker darker darker let it disappear nice let it disappear nothing there whatever that makes a powerful painting if you can paint like that wash your brush constantly have clean colors constantly have clean colors again white and yellow the same thing the sun is right in there see like it's turning over wash your brush i could only make one stroke there and again white and yellow keep it clean keep it clean see then you can have it like this and like this there there there and here you just roll it over again it's only one stroke one almighty stroke you roll it over here i will make one stroke roll it over see this one fist is a beginner it begins to go down and it should be bright on top and it should be darker already but you must always think from here on the light is feeding in from the back now the tip will be absolutely light up but when it turns around the sun is behind you see here is this one already behind on this spot see so you got to make it darker there common sense that there's so much common sense if you can work with that consent you live a long long time see let us roll over and as a sample here see now you can you can go in with that extra green again see what i do here pull out again that extra turquoise or taylor green and then you can make little holes there like the sun looks through right find the other brush this brush would do a better job see i just like to have that little pocket there that little pocket could show this turquoise color there again sometimes you have to go a couple times over in order to get it ah it's always a clean brush one stroke is a wonderful stroke but the second stroke is already murder then rather clean your brush and go over i do it again but anyway you see that little that little turquoise is shimmering to the water now here you can do the same thing here on this spot try to find my fan brush again see now here this particular weave this particular weave we will we will watch the top top has to be light and then down down down but when it comes down then it rolls back up again and that is what this does see it rolls back up again oh thing that was hidden that they ever put a stone on there and it hits that stone and that water rolls up here can you see what i mean can you see other than that wave goes together and comes back up here comes back up here there you are see here we put something between now here i would like to put the kit kind of uh let it hang down there oh that looks good see then you can see what happen you roll that the here the sun begins to shine again here that's why we put the sunshine back there watch that watch this see i would i would say here from here on from here on as powerful and no no we need dark there again we need dark there again it's a wonderful way of playing with colors when you see the results when you see the the the i didn't mind that that's sometime in the brush in that further there's some paint dinner dip it out look what i do here can you make a clothes up here on that pant paper that piper dip it out like this see then the the paper sucks all that moist what is in the inside of that full there see what's in the inside here it will all drip out you saw a little drop there and that's no good that spoils the whole thing see now i will i will i will i will i will i need dark without dark there is no light actually the painting looks good like that has it been yet even yet it's been when yet when yet when yet oh hey there you are so this is actually other step again you see this other step again doc you need lots of dog here lots of duck fire and fire in there because before you get involved with light colors fill it all in fill it all in with dark when you have dark there's no trouble to get light in without dark there is no light we have to create that almighty optic illusion the illusion the illusion and all kinds of movements all kinds of movement all kinds of movement firing firing firing you can only paint light when you have dark see there you are see let it be dark here let it be dark here the as darker you come it gets much lighter there when you have it dark coming in make it dark then you make it light here if i want to make it light here i got to make it dark here the lightest water that's the water coming in here can you see how it becomes alive same here let's put a little bit of dark in there then it all becomes alive again so now we fire in whatever whatever whatever see i have to drain out my brush like this clean it and drain it out can you see it maybe it might be nice if you could make a shot of that see clean again go into the drip it out and clean it out by doing that just press hard press hard the other side because it's like a sponge it will suck the paint the the painting out okay good good good good good now we will give him other shot here again in the sun in the sun in that sunshine white and yellow white and yellow see i'll do that again that again because i carry in too much paint dinner and that makes the paint too loose and we have already such a nice solid paint and just because i'm careless i bring that paint in the back back in again and it would make sense it just wouldn't make sense see that takes a little time i'm sorry but still when you think the time we spend on the painting like this it is just wonderful to say you can do it in such a short time i will fill in a little bit of that red here i will fill in a little bit of that red here see can you see it it it brings the sky better down especially on the other side there we are here i would like to do the same thing see now watch watch watch watch what watch what i'm doing a perspective perspective now i have to dip my thing all the time that's the only problem i have here perspective in the middle in the middle the lines in the middle here were say in the middle going up like this right and then they hold it but as you come down that goes this way all of a sudden you understand see you are in front of that water and you see the middle line is going straight up right here it goes down this way this way this way this way see you build a perspective water move what is really very important important important fan brush is just wonderful for that ah we tail sheet off there and start from scratch see that whole thing is already soaked in i can turn off others too and now it might be better so it's also with what i told you about the paint dinner but you have to work like that you have to work like that beautiful make it darker underneath all the time underneath go a couple times extra see and then let that pop up but it's nice to have pull the light to the middle pull the light towards the sun we got the sun there and that bounce bounce bounce bounce bounce right there and on the end here it gets darker and darker and whatever and that's a good painting that's a masterpiece if you can handle it like that this will be already darker here and and put that red and put that red on top okay let me show you see here i would already put a little bit more see and then in in here too that's beautiful now you are in from the dark and to the light and you put just your power into the middle you got all the time in the world just see right now if you want you can go back is so much time to even here i would use a touch of red rather there see let it disappear watch this beautiful can you see it and here again i would already have a little bit of red there so by doing that this becomes all lighter that becomes the power of that painting and that's what you want to have you want to have that almighty bang in that painting see so we have to go in and and go back and let the sky fell down let the sky fell down here and and whatever whatever [Music] see and here you see a bit of red all popping up all popping up see and then naturally it comes into the sun and it breaks always into the light that's a powerful painting there are the best paintings is if you can create the mighty masterpiece by just one almighty light that is so bright the next the next the next forget the outside completely that is really something what hits your eyes if you can do that you are the master i will use a bigger brush for that i will use a bigger brush for that see right now i make it dark and then i bring it back up because i have take the paint off whatever is too much there now you fire in there watch this can you see what it means and forget the side and you got the beautiful beautiful painting have the nerve have the nerve to do it sometime we always think we have to fill in everything so perfect and that is that's what we all do wrong okay now get that on my fan brush again i will pull this out too now yeah we pull this out here you see okay and then again let it come let it come that's the right to do it that's the way it is you are not fooling anyone perspective it got to be right i will use a touch of yellow again and the turquoise this yellow and see and the light like you have that beautiful bright see what that does that little bit of to the sun the sun what you call this oh that's the right name forget forget forget when you're in my age you forget so you forget i have i have excuse for that because i forget who my wife has to remember everything everything was my key okay it's there see what i want to show you try to make a couple happy happy little windows in there see that that brings you a certain healthy healthy spark ring in there see underneath that and then disappear oh good good good good good now watch what i do i will spoil that whole painting van dyck brown put it up here watch it again van dyck brown press blue a little crimson and you make yourself a kind of a nice black dark color more alice in crimson more alice in crimson that's good now i will fire in the stone here see i have a fire in the stone [Music] here that stone draws a shadow there and a reflection beside see if you want you can have a stone maybe here form your stones which is why you think with why you would love to see them see good fine you firemen the sun is coming from here you fire in the sun right against that almighty stone see here you would fire the sun comes and hits right there a bit more red bit more red too much it needs a kind of orange color would be the nicest i believe yeah that's good hey there and dance it around dance it around see spark it off forever the whatever the knife does trust your good old knife trust your good old knife but on this side will hit here see it will hit this side you see that little touch of orange color is good it's better than too much yellow see okay we fire in here too on this side a little bit and here you use kind of a neutral color uh the turquoise is good it's a bit of a bluish bluish water attach you see can you see it it has kind of a nice nice watercolor see here you do the same thing on this side nice here you firing again on this side red and and yellow red and yellow firing up there see beautiful oh jesus makes you living other than you feel your heart is jumping your heart is jumping maybe here a little bit of light colors in between just just something so this looks good the shadow side see i stir up the paint from underneath and make it dirty that's all it is really here's the same the same same here see then you use your fan brush again here the fan brush pulls it out pull it out pull it out out like this and here we use the big brush when we put it right into the sand or whatever is how far we are it's all wet it's all very wet there see and here we just put it in wherever it goes there because now i have to just put that water over there and all the things will be wonderful so this weave as a sample see how it comes down what should i do with that one yellow and white and maybe touch already of i will run it up like that like that see try to think that's in the shadow behind that stone you would like to go up there yeah but let's let's make it in the shadow color water is running off robot just running off water is running off water is running off but you can you can here here in the back you can really give them a little bit of a light color because it's wet it's a wet stone and you can easily play a little bit of a game like that you see look at that brings it nice out there and the same now here with this stone you can easily give him a little bit of a happy little rim see and brings it right out there again happy little rim uh-huh good see here what i do i i make this little bit of a water run of strokes water run off what the devil is that water run off strokes good see there will be upstrokes up up up up but it looks like the water is running off but actually you stroke up right see and then you fire in here a little bit of this and what you do now you use it on mighty brush clean and make the same like we do still waters you see there you are and now you fire in you firm some nice happy happy see happy colors there around fire yes it's a runoff and it does run off and and it gives you that see it runs off like that that's a good seller and if you want you can go again the second time see oh that's all right and then here you use a bit of darker color the turquoise colors like this see it is behind the stone not too bright not so bright there you see and then here you start really firing in whatever you whatever you want with the water yellow white and the touch of red on that stone see here you can turn that boat already to red hey that's afraid think in this there will be the sky in the water and let only the bright sunshine be in the middle if you can that is the best that is the best if you can handle it like that i bet you are doing it right think about what is running off there can have the kind of strokes like this it's running off or even you can go off to the top and just just think about what is running off see if you want you can make it very exciting on certain steps what's what i do here here i would go in and make the water coming out behind there you see just it does it does run off there it was collected it came it was always coming over and disappeared and here is kind of a like a funnel there in between the stones and it hits there and it takes a while to run it off see you create those kind of things sometime see and then it runs off into yonder into yonder see they can eat easy easy do this too here good even here if you want to to create those kind of water runoffs you can go right between the stone and and there it is you see there there over here in this case you can have the water coming around and it hits around there the and running off so what you what i want to show you here create whatever you think it is is makes your painting cell better see here maybe here i would go and put a nice light line in here because that would do good see on this side see there you are try to make it run down let them cry think the stones are crying the stones are crying oh here may we do the same thing good good okay here here see there you are now here maybe we have a little bit of a water watch this that's nice to do sometime you can do it with the knife the knife does a good job for that just make a little bit of a water it's a bit of a water standing there see that looks always good and then here let it disappear whatever also see now you find your little brush and you put a couple happy seagulls in and i use here's the dark color any dark color alizarin crimson and passion blue and you let them fly this way depends on how far you want to have them see i would say this is one and here's the other one see this one is filled off this is closer i do lot a lot of fishing most every day when the weather is good i'm on the ocean and i always come out with my boat and i look around and they say where are the seagulls what the seagulls are they are the hearing and what the hearing are they are the salmon and when the salmon are there is spill see and they go in all kinds of directions one would just just fly sidewards some they were right down they dip down you can make as many seagulls as you want if you are seagull hungry fine but usually they come in the clump because they're hearing and moving constantly constantly never or very certain they are you're sure they are all over the ocean there's so many but that is what the the the this one woman let's see this one here is really he just sees the hearing there and he shoots off there and that whole water is boiling that whole water is boiling see so just little touches here not white not white little touches here see there we are there we are how about we call it finish i thank you for watching me bye bye
