you hear me let's thank god for them we love you and i heard some rap people men and women got up last night and it was over there unpacking the uhaul and and uh it's a god thing you know it's a god thing some of you two years ago you had no idea you would be sitting in this church and uh it's a god thing and uh when it's a god thing you ain't gotta explain it because you can't explain it and uh i'm telling you if you're watching us online i'm telling you god is everywhere god is everywhere he can meet you right where you are but when i tell you that god manifests himself in this place it can't be it can't be explained it only be experienced and i tell you every time i come in this atmosphere i feel like hallelujah i feel a change and i feel a change in my life and it does not appear what we shall be hallelujah but when he shows up we shall be like him and i'm not just talking about the rapture but every time he comes in i'm being transformed amen look at somebody tell them god is working on me oh y'all said it real passive i'm gonna tell somebody god is really working on me and i want him to work on me amen everybody really quickly go to lamentations chapter three lamentations 23 we want you to also pray we have a lot of people traveling this week for vacation and we ask you to cover them in prayer in your prayer time as well stand with me as quickly as you can i promise you you won't have to stand as long as i will lamentations chapter 3 verse 19 through verse 23 when you have it say amen remembering mine affliction and my misery the warm wood and the gall my soul have them still in remembrance and is humbled in me this i recall to my mind therefore have i hope it is of the lord's mercies that we are not consumed because his compassion does not fail they are new every morning great is thy faithfulness i said i gotta flight the catch so i won't be before you alone so share this message with somebody help me preach it and we'll go home together tell your neighbor i choose to remember you can be seated in the presence of the lord memories can be bondage or they can be freedom it's up to you you know we're people who are quick to forget i tell people oftentimes maybe i forget so easy because i have so much to remember and there's a time that there's so many messages coming in our ear gates and our eye gates so consistently that our hard drive our mental hard drive begins to be full and begins to run slower and our bandwidth that our capacity uh is not as great as it used to be but there are things that you must choose choose to choose to remember there are benefits to remembering it really is great benefits to remember you that are taking notes write this down remembering keeps you from repeating your past you know i've had conversations with individuals because i'm a history person i love history i am passionate about history but there are times that i start talking history and people just are like ah you know and i know all of us can be a little too deep in one area or the other but it's been said over and over those who don't know their history or deemed to repeat it did you know a child can grow up without their father and repeat the mistakes of their father tell your neighbor it's in the blood history is in the blood it's even proven that uh generational trauma can be passed to you and you can experience certain levels of anxiety concerning things that didn't even start with you they call it in mental health you know trans transgenerational trauma in in church and spirituality we call it uh generational curses we call it a curse because it's nothing you want to pray for amen you want to pray against it but when you don't remember something or history is not known you're deemed to repeat it remembering allows you to find the pattern because many of us if we look over our lives there's a pattern that's connected to our dysfunction that there's a pattern to it and after a while we can think oh this happened oh this happened but if you look over time it's a it's a pattern i want you to look at somebody tell them there's a pattern to the dysfunction it's dysfunctional because it's a pattern it would if it was just a moment it would just be a moment but because it keeps repeating itself i choose to remember so i don't have to keep going back in it and going back to it there are benefits to it we are celebrating what we call memorial day and in memorial day we honor and we celebrate those soldiers who died in combat they died serving or protecting our nation every once in a while you ought to thank god for those who stood in the gap for you even when you didn't know to stand for yourself i said we ought to give god praise i'm thankful for the navy i'm thankful for the air force come on clap your hands i'm thankful for the army and the marines come on come on i thank god for church mothers who didn't have uniforms their uniforms was white dresses and white stockings and come on and them nursing shoes but let me tell you they were soldiers too hallelujah i thank god for single mothers who made it happen come on come on hallelujah thank the lord i'm thankful for fathers who worked two jobs and came home and brought the money home and made sure there was a roof over come on we ought to thank god we we thank god for the soldiers of the cross those preachers those men and women of god who were against their own challenges and their own depression they kept showing up and speaking strength to our strength look at your neighbor tell your neighbor i choose to remember i choose to remember those people who walked up to me and put twenty dollars in my hand and i didn't even tell them i didn't have gas in my car i choose to remember i choose to remember those people who walked up and gave me an encouraging word and i wasn't even in that circle i wasn't even one of their friends i choose to remember those people who stood with me without asking a bunch of questions i choose to remember those who covered me while i was trying to gather myself look at your neighbor tell your neighbor i choose to remember i choose to remember because when you don't remember you end up getting a false understanding of your present you'll start saying stuff like this to lisa nothing has changed it's all the same here we go again i don't have any friends nobody supports me it never works out for me something bad is always happening to me that's someone who has amnesia because how did you get here how are you still living if nothing works out for you how did you get here if didn't nobody help you god used somebody the bible says this prophet prayed a prayer says lord open up the eyes of my servant that he will see that them that are with him is more than them that against him i want to tell somebody that didn't know it you got more friends than you got haters you got more people that's praying for you than praying against you look some of y'all got tight cause you don't believe it let me tell you something some of your friends may not even be in this realm but all heaven is backing you up and if god be for you who can be against you he's more than the whole world against you look at your neighbor tell your neighbor you forgot to count heaven you forgot to count the host of angels you forgot to tell the people that god got in high places and people who have died that went on before you that's pushing you to run this race [Applause] you forgot to count heaven and i choose hey hey i'm sorry i choose to i i choose to read i choose to remember nothing ever nothing ever works for you nothing i feel some kind of way when you tell me i have no one to talk to because you're talking to me when you're telling me i chew i choose to remember um listen what ecclesiastes chapter 12 verse 1 says it says remember now thy creator in the days of thy user one of the biggest lies of satan is that you got time that's a trick of the enemy you don't you don't own time the only time you have is the time you're in and why you're in it is leaving you all at the same time hallelujah come on we just it wasn't long ago i was sitting at liberty university walking down the moss hall in brian crutchfield was walking down the hallway with a briefcase as a student i didn't know where he was going now i'm looking up he's a father with three kids where did the time go we we had both of us had hair come on come on be honest with me how many of you are remember you can wait to get out of your mama's house now how many all know that is overrated it is over [Applause] i i remember the days i used to be mad because i was like we got nothing to do this is boring over here ain't nothing to do i miss boring sometimes i miss nothing to do some of my so you know when i was a kid i was always ready to go somewhere let's go somewhere let's do something now the highlight of my day is sitting on a sofa doing absolutely nothing where did the time go where did the time go my my bones are making noise that ain't never made before what it what did the time go but one thing i got a lot of regrets i i did some stuff growing up uh that i wish i hadn't did i was i was playing with me and uh my cousin roger were playing with matches and uh we said well god rest your soul papa i gotta tell you this now we set the back up truck on fire what we did don't y'all look at me like i'll never play with matches i'm looking at some of know that's some stuff i wish that's some stuff i wish i had never done you know uh but one thing about it if i ever get to the age where i can't run and i can't dance in church you know what i won't have any regrets because while i had the activities of my limbs i gave it to god hallelujah i gave i gave it to god look at your neighbor tell your neighbor you should give god your best years give them your best shields don't don't don't be telling don't be telling your kids well you know what you can you can you can really serve god when you get older you don't know how many years they got you know how many you don't know how much time this world has remember thy creator in the days of thy youth well all of us all of us were young once yes all of us were young once and some of us some things we did in our childhood and some things that happened to us in our childhood we still trying to recover from it in our adulthood don't don't y'all don't y'all act like the childhood don't matter come on there's some things can happen in your childhood they can set you back that's why there's some people who are 45 years old with a still 15 year old mentality because they never recovered but the but the proverbial text says remember that creator even in the days of your use look at your neighbor tell your neighbor i choose to remember there's a danger not remember because psalm 9 17 says the wicked shall be turned into hell now something we don't talk about we don't talk about hell a lot uh anymore when i grew up in church they preached about hell at least once every sermon they're going to mention at some point especially at altaco because they want to warn you if you don't get saved you're going to hell when i was growing up they said if you didn't have the holy ghost speaking in tongues and that with a mighty burning fire you go into the fire so we was jesus jesus jesus jesus jesus you know uh we don't preach about hell because there's a generation that from a philosophical standpoint we would say a loving holy god would never send anybody to hell and i agree with you i don't i don't believe a loving god will send anybody to hell i don't believe he's going to do it i don't believe no god will send nobody to hell but lucifer himself nobody else god gonna sin the hell i believe people going to hell i don't believe god's sending them to hell i believe in order to go to hell you got to step over jesus's dead body you got to step over the sacrifice of the lord that means he has done everything he could to get you in [Music] so god so if you look at the scripture jesus talks about hell more than he preaches about heaven and he says the wicked shall be turned into hell but not only the wicked and all the nations that do what forget god forget god we must be careful now listen i am very patriotic i love this country that i live in i have traveled all over the world i believe america is one of the greatest nations in the world we got our problems like everybody else got because as long as a nation is led by men there will be fallacies and flaws amen well let me tell you something i never say god and country you'll never hear me say god and country because saying god and country puts my country on the level of my god and there's some people who have elevated their patriotism above their faith my god you hear me i don't say god and country i said god then family [Applause] and country is it there somewhere i'm very i'm very patriotic but don't you get so caught up on god bless america and nowhere else now some of y'all don't got tight in me on here because of the way i'm talking i know exactly what i'm saying and i know this video can be chopped up so i want to speak it clearly in the last days according to eschatology the only nation that's promised to be saved is israel my god did you hear what i said so let me tell you we better be careful that we don't posture ourself against the nation that god declared that he would say back i'm telling y'all 16 years ago and we're not going to change the way we pray we prayed 16 years ago in hurt virginia and every sunday we would get up and say pray for the peace of jerusalem they shall prosper that love thee peace be within thy walls and prosperity within thy palaces because of thy brethren and companion's sake i will now say peace be within thee because of the house of the lord thy god because the temple is there because the mount is there i will say peace be on today i know you love america and i love it too but there's no promise no problem [Applause] oh that's the uh oh there's no promise but the bible he said he gonna save israel hallelujah and i'm telling you when he saved israel he's not just saving natural israel he's not just saving the citizens of tel aviv in jerusalem and the galilee he's gonna save spiritual israel is also he's going to save those who have been engrafted into the body for we are the seed of abraham we have been adopted into this this is too much on sunday morning don't forget god because every nation that starts out with the decalogue and the commandments of the lord is their foundation and then they start to change it every nation that forget god glory be to god when they start lift it up hallelujah their own ideologies above the god of the bible every nation hallelujah that forgets god tell your neighbor i can't do nothing about the nation but tell them but i choose to remember because you know what some of y'all do y'all getting some of these philosophical circles and you get in some of these intellectual chats and you get with some of your educated friends and you get intimidated and they make you think if you're a believer and if you're a christian that means you're narrow-minded that mean you're small-minded you're unlearned you're ignorant but i come to tell you the bible says not a not an educated man but a fool have said in his heart that there is no god and when i say god my god has a name i'm not talking about universe i'm not talking about galaxy i'm not talking about good vibes or energy i'm talking about jesus jesus is god because everybody that says god does not mean jesus muslims say god he do say god hallelujah but they don't mean jesus but tell your neighbor my god has a name i dare you to jump up and shout his name scream [Music] [Applause] and i and i choose and i choose to re i choose to remember because there's a danger if i start forgetting and ain't that something ain't that something how we know him when we have nothing we're committed to church committed to serving when we have nothing but then all of a sudden if god opens up a door we go in the door and forget the god that opened it isn't it something while our heart is broken he's the one that's rubbing our back as soon as your ex comes back [Applause] yes oh hey there's something yeah we we are at our church we are very collegiate church very academic we really are uh as we look in the congregation we've seen the progression over the years of academic excellence among the parishioners of our church and and i don't lift those i honor and i celebrate those who got their degrees that i don't lift you up above people who don't have them because education don't mean you know a degree don't mean you got any sense you can be an educated fool and just because you got a degree in the bible don't mean you know the god of the bible but when i see your hard work and i see your diligence i honor you it takes a lot to sit up and do all of those papers you hear me i'm talking about at night when your eyes is going like this you know that's it takes a lot it takes a lot some of you had to borrow money and ask family members to co-signing student loans and some of you got performed a miracle at the last minute y'all didn't forget oh you got to forget some of y'all was like i don't know how i'm going back next semester and then all of a sudden just god just made a way out of nowhere i mean some of y'all will call around y'all i need y'all to come in agreement with me uh you know i got kicked out of school and i'm trying to write a letter to get back in it it will be a tragedy with your sanctified pentecostal self then for you to walk across that stage and you get a degree in your hand and then you feel like you are elevated above praising god it's it'll be sad for you to get to that point and then start looking down on people who don't have what you have when you realize that god hasn't did what he did you wouldn't have had it i need some people that got a degree or certificate from somewhere get up on your feet and give god praise because you remember you remember how hard it was you remember how challenging it was i choose to remember that it was god because i know some of y'all looking at me but you you know you know what your test score said all of us didn't graduate as a valedictorian some of us got in by the grace and mercy of god i'm so glad that when they asked for your education on the application they don't ask what number you were in the class all right y'all be seated i'm just talking all right i'll be in a i'm gonna stay but i choose to remember you know what the bible says in joshua chapter 4 verse 6 it says we when they crossed the jordan they said we will use these stones and build a memorial in the future your children will ask you what do these stones mean then you'll tell them they remind us that the jordan river stop flowing with the ark of the lord's covenant went across these stones will stand as a memorial among the people of israel forever in other words there should be some things we keep from the old house there's some things we should keep from the past you know the lord has blessed us to get to this church and i'd love to take you forward to it i would like to take you over to our rci educational and business facility i'll take you down to the right of the hallway you'll see our adoption care agency our administrative wing an academy laid out by god's ways ministry family insight even some more companies coming there's another church that meets on the top floor in the j afro cage multi-purpose room the cabinet shop that's on the back i would love to show you the the suites and the photography studio that we have over over there i love to bring you into into our lobby so you can get your visitors gifts and our newly remodeled bathrooms uh for the women in the back there's a green room on the bottom floor uh and uh with nice televisions and a place for the women to to change their babies and still be able to see the service and there's a baptism floor on the top i would love to take you behind and let you see the led screen and see how it works i mean it's a magnanimous piece of technology that you think that's a hammond organ but it's really not a hammond organ it's a hammond casing with a nord a new advanced keyboard sitting over in the midst of it along with that yamaha motif or we can take you for the tour of the media ministry and see their running cameras or their stable cameras and how they somebody's doing the screen somebody is doing the lights somebody is shifting the camera angle one from another it's beautiful but the highlight of this church for me is if you go to that lobby climb the steps and when you climb the steps there's a little room and when you walk in that room please don't talk about us but as a dingy yellow piece of carpet and your question is they couldn't afford any new carpet yes we could have but we chose to remember this yellow carpet is the same carpet from our storefront church and when they started to rip that carpet up and throw it away i said hold up give me some of that because that's the carpet that when we all we had was these old cement floors at our storefront church and i said we need some carpet in here and we don't have enough money to get the carpet and somebody who worked for a carpet company so you can use my discount and i'll give you 50 off i said but you got to get to the warehouse all the way in north carolina and pick it up i said okay we'll get a pickup truck and they say no you need like a big tractor trailer to come and get it i said i don't know who can get it out of north carolina and i called jamesia and shanita i said i need y'all to go get the biggest truck you can they said we can't drive it i said yes you can i'm speaking to you right now and the holy ghost you can drive it god has given you the anointing when they pulled up in that big truck i said i would have never drove that i don't know what they were thinking about i remember us putting our monies together to get it so when i dance up here it's because i remember the carpet that was up there so anytime i would come in church and maybe cross my legs i choose to remember that is a dangerous thing for you to come into a new season and forget the god that brought you into it look at your neighbor tell your neighbor i remember i remember where i was i remember what condition my mind was in i remember what state my spirit was in when he found me i was a dirty piece of carpet but he held on to me look at your neighbor tell your neighbor i remember [Music] i remember thank you all for being patient i remember remember so we can learn from it and those memories give us a reference point to the ability of god because when you got a memory let me tell you something uh there's gonna always be challenges in your life you're never gonna come into a season where there are no challenges right you're either coming in a storm coming out of a storm or in the middle of a storm something that's going to be going on in your life but your memory will work for you if you keep a memory then you'll say if god did it before help me help me preach it there if god did it before he'll what he'll do it again i mean i i walk with god i got i got history with god and you know it and it produces it gives you strength when you're going through things it gives you strength when you're going through when you're going through challenges and i love elder britney i know this is one of your favorite scriptures i love this lamentation scripture it's the book of major prophets uh it's a it's a text written by jeremiah and jeremiah if you know anything about jeremiah jeremiah is considered a weeping prophet because a prophet doesn't get to choose his message you hear me a prophet you don't get to choose all you can do is choose to say yes to god but you can't choose what you're saying yes to when you surrender to god you're saying lord have your way whatever you're calling me to do i'm willing to obey your voice i'm willing to follow and so jeremiah is a weeping prophet because of his message his message is heavy his message is talking about the plummeting of judah this message is talking about the captivity of god's chosen people my god and then the bible says to jeremiah he goes on to personify the nation's challenge as his own personal challenges don't you forget as we're going through a pandemic as a nation the weight of the pandemic actually falls on the individuals that's in the pandemic and a lot of times we talk about things in a broad way but look at your neighbor tell your neighbor this thing has affected me it has affected us all in different ways some of us the quarantine the isolation affected us some of us were financially affected psychologically affected some of us were spiritually affected but the truth is all of us i know the economy of the world but i know the economy of the nation but jeremiah says this word and this challenge has hit me even in my personal life look at your neighbor tell your neighbor i'm strong but i still need strength come on be honest with them tell them i'm a strong person but they don't mean i don't get tired see sometimes people think because you know scriptures and they think because you're a preacher that means you don't ever have a bad day that they think just because you can shout and dance you don't ever have to deal with depression look at your neighbor tell your neighbor but i need god too yes i got answers for everybody else but there are times that i struggle with finding answers for my own life and jeremiah says i've been prophesying to everybody and the weight of this message has started to affect me the way that this message is dealing with my mind because it's hard to keep dealing with family members and it never weigh on you some of you ended up going through situations and you were emotionally down not because of your own personal stuff but because of the things of the people around you look at your neighbor and say neighbor in the past season of my life i know what it feels like to be a burden bearer oh my god cause james says there comes times in our walk that we've got to bear each other's burdens up but as you listen to everybody's problems as you cancel everybody's situation it'll begin to affect you emotionally i come to preach to the encourager i come to preach to the intercessor i come to preach to the person in the house that you're the only one praying look at your neighbor said neighbor he's sending strength in your direction oh my god put your hand on somebody's shoulder and said did you hear what i said god is sending strength in your direction and the bible declared why jeremiah was going through his own challenges he was dealing with his own anguish he says i begin to consider all the stuff i've been going through i begin to consider the heaviness around me and the depression all around me and he says i considered that god had abandoned us and we thought we were forsaken we thought we were dismissed and dropped by jehovah i almost considered that god had quit on me has anybody ever been into a place in your life where you thought god had walked away you felt forsaken you got dismissed i thought i'd made so many mistakes that godhead was not going to use me but jeremiah said at the point where i was walking away this i recall to my mind help me charlene i gotta go therefore i have hope it's because of the lord's mercies push somebody and tell them it was mercy i know what i deserved but it was merciful i should have been dead and gone but it was mercy i should have died in that accident but it was mercy but i was on 29 and i stopped at the truck stop on the left and i was pumping gas and at one moment with the nozzle in the gas pump it was so cold but i did something that you don't supposed to do i left the pump in the tank and i got in the car and shut the door and when i shut the door i tracked the trailer smacked up against my car and knocked me up against the gas pump and if i would have been standing in the va if i would have been standing on the outside i would have been trapped up in the middle and the gas pump did not blow up it was crazy [Music] i said it was grace and mercy screaming to neighbor and says when trouble said yes mercy said no when the accident said i'll take you out mercy said no when the drugs tried to kill you mercy said no when your mistake tried to disqualify you mercy [Music] you see me shouting and when you see me dancing when you see me worshiping it's not because i got a check in the mail and i thank god for it and i believe he's going to do something tomorrow but that's not my reason the reason why i shut like i do cause i still got my memory i still got my mind yes a whole life i could complain about there's a whole lot i could cry about how there's a whole lot i could be depressed about but god has been good to me better than me than this whole world or you could ever be of my good days outweigh my bad days and i will scream at somebody tell him he's been too good to me i can't have a bad day because he's a good guy he's been too good to me to form my arms he didn't do good to me for me to shut my mouth when i think of the goodness of jesus and all he stood for me soul cries out soul cries out [Music] i need you to tap three people tell them i remember i remember i remember [Music] it was it was bad [Music] it was bad i'm not going to i'm not going to minimize it it was if you thought it was bad and you didn't know all the details you thought it was bad it was bad bad tell your neighbor i was in a bad place don't lie you ain't got a lie if that ain't your testimony be quiet and don't say nothing but if you're in a bad place tell somebody i was really in a bad place [Music] now you know why some of y'all can't talk about it i'ma tell you why you can't talk about it because you're not healed from it yet and i get it i get it see when you're not healed from that's why some people as a survival mechanism they suppress their memories they suppress it they forget about the abuse they forgot how bad it really was no i it wasn't that bad no no no it was bad have you ever had somebody to unpack parts of your story to you and you was like wow who was that it was really bad i never you know and sometimes i always say i try to we always say lol laugh out loud i try to live out loud i try to be as honest with y'all as y'all can handle it because you know even with your children you tell your children as much as they can handle right because they can they can't handle all everything maybe when they get to a certain age again but i never forget uh this morning was such a blessing to me because i was at this wedding yesterday uh brother uh pastor anthony swann and his wife jasmine and the holy ghost just fell in the wedding the spiritual lord was moving but their testimony that testimony was both of them suffered from depression and how they were going to get married years ago and they walked away and how the lord had healed them and delivered them and pastor wilson did such a good job yesterday and he said something to marvin and marvin said it to me in the office before i walked out he says what helped them get past it says what helped them get past it is when they were listening to you share your testimony about battling with depression somebody will hear your story somebody will hear your testimony and want to live because people will look at your life and they'll think everything is perfect but every once in a while you need to say hey look at these hallelujah some of y'all got some physical marks on your skin right now because of some attempts and you are our praise god because it was an attempt that was not success [Music] i mean really you know that's why when i'm talking when i'm talking to individuals and and i'm ministering to them and they said you know bishop i'm just gonna be honest i've been i've been i've been drinking i've been drinking and i don't be like what i believe you know what i say yeah i get it what is that what you say bishop yes i must first of all i to get the bible says jesus was numbered among them see some of us want to we want we want to help people get free by throwing them a rope jesus didn't throw us a rope he got down in it with us man was the rope jesus was the fullness of god in human flesh he took on sin knowing no sin numbered among the transgressors oh that woman that woman that got caught in adultery what did jesus do got down there with him and i believe you know what and we still trying to figure it out scholars are still trying to figure out what did jesus write on the ground that made them people that had rocks ready to stone her walk away what in the world could he have wrote because these people are standing there ready to stone her she committed adultery we gonna stall her jesus you're gonna start it you wanna started jesus we're gonna start and jesus gets down to start writing what in the world did he write to make them people walk away i believe jesus wrote john okay committed adultery twice in 2020 all right john all right melissa okay cheated on your tithe all right all right oh frank sexting all right at 2 30 a.m on sunday morning and anytime you get prideful you better choose to remember what people like did you hear car accident where he nearly lost his life he had to learn how to walk and talk again they didn't think that he was gonna make it through the night but he survived hallelujah and he was able to live we got married and had two kids and a testimony still stand up alicia alicia name one thing you choose to remember how the lord um saved my brother's life time after time come on hey i choose so anytime i'm starting to say nothing is happening come here sister diane sister tell me one thing you choose you choose to remember i remember two years ago they told me i had stage three cancer in my right breast they operated took it out sent it to the biopsy the biopsy came back and said no cancer ever [Music] tell somebody i choose everyone's staying [Music] it's been hard to do anything in this service today [Music] and another thing and another thing oh and another thing [Music] we're going to let you go [Music] if at the end of this serpent sister can name one thing you remember uh when i died on the table god brought me back if at the end of the service if you need prayer there'll be somebody here to pray for you if you need to be baptized somebody will be here to ready to take you to the water if you're looking for a church home there'll be someone here standing waiting to receive you and jesus saying will y'all come over go ahead and dismiss i pray god's blessings over you and as you spend time with your family this week choose to remember that's this message came from me sitting in the living room with my mother and my aunts yesterday and we were just rehearsing the story rehearsing we were rehearsing the story god has really been good to us now may the grace of our lord and the sweet communion of the holy spirit rest on you rule over and about what you hints for
