the lord for the weak behind us let us ask the lord to bless us in the week ahead let us recognize the presence of god let us also admit our sins you are our way to the father lord have mercy lord have mercy you are the truth who sets us free christ have mercy christ have mercy you are our life our hope and resurrection lord have mercy lord have mercy may almighty god have mercy on us forgive us our sins and lead us to life everlasting amen glory to god in the highest and on earth peace to people of good will we praise you we bless you we adore you we glorify you we give you thanks for your great glory lord god heavenly king o god almighty father lord jesus christ only begotten son lord god lamb of god son of the father you take away the sins of the world have mercy on us you take away the sins of the world receive our prayer you are seated at the right hand of the father have mercy on us for you alone are the holy one you alone are the lord you alone are the most high jesus saying before i formed you in the womb i knew before i you were born i dedicated you a prophet to the nations i appointed you but do you gird your loins stand up and tell them that all i command you be not crushed on their account as though i would leave you crashed before them for it is i this day who have made you a fortified city a pillar of iron a wall of brass against the whole land against glory to you o lord jesus began speaking in the synagogue saying today the scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing and all spoke highly of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth they also ask isn't this the son of joseph he said to them surely you will quote me the proverb physician kill yourself and say do here in your native place the things that we have heard were done in capernaum and he said amen i say to you no prophet is accepted in his own native place indeed i tell you there were many widows in israel in the days of elijah when the sky was closed for three and a half years and a severe famine spread over the entire land it was to none of these that elijah was sent but only to a widow in saripat in the land of sidon again there were many lepers in israel during the time of elisha the prophet yet that one of them was cleansed but only naaman the syrian when the people in the synagogue heard this they were filled with fury they rose up men and for our salvation he came down from heaven and by the holy spirit was incarnate of the virgin mary and became man for our sake he was crucified under pontius pilate he suffered death and he was buried and rose again on the third day in accordance with the scriptures he unset into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the father he will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end i believe in the holy spirit the lord the giver of life who proceeds from the father and the son who with the father and the son has adored and glorified who has spoken to the prophets i believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church i confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and i look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the may persevere in their effort remembering that love is all that matters both in this life and in the next let us pray lord hear our prayer that those who are involved in the biblical apostolate may harvest abundant fruits of their efforts and never be discouraged by occasional oppositions of setbacks let us pray lord hear our that as we celebrate national bible sunday today we may take it as a challenge to read the word of god every day listen to his message for us and live it out in our lives let us pray lord hear our prayer god our father look with love on your people bless us with lord be with you and with your spirit lift up your hearts we lift them up to the lord let us give thanks to the lord our god that is right and just it is truly right and just our duty and our salvation always and everywhere to give you thanks lord holy father almighty and eternal god for in you will live and move and have our being and while in this body we not only experience the daily effects of your care but even now possess the pledge of life eternal for having received the first fruits of the spirit through whom you raised up jesus from the dead we hope for an everlasting share in the paschal mystery and so with all the angels we praise you as a joyful celebration we acclaim holy holy holy lord god of the host heaven and earth are full of your glory hosanna in the highest blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord hosanna in the highest you are indeed holy o lord the fount of all holiness make holy therefore these gifts we pray by sending down your spirit upon them like the dewfall so that they may become for us the body and blood of our lord jesus at a time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion he took bread and giving thanks broke it and gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and eat of it for this is my body which will be given up for you in a similar way when supper was ended he took the chalice and once more giving thanks he gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and drink from it for this is the chalice of my blood the blood of the new and eternal covenant which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins do this in memory of me the mystery of faith when we eat this bread and drink this cup we proclaim your death oh lord until you come again therefore as we celebrate the memorial of his death resurrection we offer you lord the bread of life and the chalice of salvation giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of christ we may be gathered into one by the holy spirit remember lord your church spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity together with francis our pope my brother bishops with the clergy of linga and the gopan and all those who serve you faithfully in the church remember also our brothers and sisters have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection and all have died in your mercy welcome them into the light of your face have mercy on us all we pray that in the blessed virgin mary mother of god with blessed joseph a spouse with the blessed apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life and may praise and glorify you through your son jesus christ through him and with him and in him o god almighty father in the unity of the holy spirit all glory and honor is yours forever and ever amen beyond everything else it is the will of god that should be our goal our rule our law let us pray that god's will be done let us pray like jesus our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil deliver us lord we pray from every evil and graciously grant peace in our days that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our savior jesus christ for the kingdom the power and the glory are yours now when forever lord jesus christ who said dear apostles peace i leave you my peace i give you look not on our sins but on the faith of your church and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will who live and reign forever and ever amen the peace of the lord be with you always and with your spirit let us offer each lord from coercion intimidation violence and terrorism from dishonesty lies in all distortion of truth from bribery graph and all conspiracy for fraud from gullibility to the deceptive and blindness of perspective deliver us from threats intimidation and perverse language deliver us lord let us pray together hear us lord hear us lord that conscience may always be our ultimate norm he rushed that the common good may always be our highest goal that the human dignity may be respected at all time hear us lord that the poor and the weak may always have the priority hear us lord that care for creation may never be ignored hear us lord the solidarity may guide the path of peace and development hear us lord that genuine fear of god and love of neighbors may guide those who work who seek public office lord let us pray shepherd of souls and savor of the nations politics is your gift to us i call to serve others and grow in holiness guide our politics as you guide our lives may our political engagement for voters and candidates bring glory to your loving name and help us grow in holiness forever and ever amen let us pray there is by this redeeming gifts we pray o lord that through this help to eternal salvation true faith may ever increase through christ our lord amen we thank the lord for the grace of our 13 children who receive their first communion during this mass
