[Music] so [Music] do do [Music] [Applause] [Music] happy sunday everybody i hope you guys have had a wonderful lord's day and got to worship him hopefully in person if you're able to do that in your area we hear weekly from people who say this is like we're able to watch it and feel like we're connected with other believers because in whatever part of the world you're in watching you might not be able to gather in person yet so if you are i hope you did today and didn't just sit in front of a screen but i'm glad we have that opportunity if that's all we can do so safely for sure okay so let's see i started off with be still my soul and i played that someone sent me the request and asked me to do page 654 in the psalms hymns and spiritual songs hymnal which is a wonderful book published by melody publications and if you don't have one in your personal library you should get one it's got great hymn histories and extra verses scripture verses that go along with each verse of the hymn it's just wonderful i love this book and they asked me to play 654 from this book and said it was called follow me and when i looked up 654 in this book it was be still my soul so i don't know if i wrote down the wrong page number or the wrong title or if i met wrote one thing from one email and another thing from another email so i apologize i did play page 654 from this book but that would be still my soul and then i went into immortal invisible that i also played from this book let's see that i knew that hymn but not well enough to do by memory and then to god be the glory for um mr east who asked me to play that is he and his wife are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary so he commented on youtube and asked me to do that then i went into there is joy in serving jesus which the middle of that verse was not my finest hour sorry i had a brain freeze and couldn't remember the tune and then since jesus came into my heart and then ring the bells of heaven so that was the opening medley if you're just joining us and you're hoping that i've played that one you emailed me so those are the ones i started with and now i want to get as many of your requests in as possible so i do have the psalm sims and spiritual songs up here and bible truth hymns as well so if you have a request from either of those feel free i have them so josh my husband will tell me what you guys want to hear hello hello i am here it's good to see our friend micah mike back on yes he was sick last week hope he's feeling much better um all right are you ready i'm ready the first one i have a a a good list already of songs that aren't commonly done on this program i don't think but you should know i think all of them okay that could be fun or scary i think you should i never know okay yeah did we have a song tonight at church that you did not know uh i i i'll go where you want me to go i think i've heard it a lot faster than we were singing it and as as we were singing it i thought i think this should be quite a bit slower than how i'm playing it so you need to look it up in a different hymnal because i didn't feel like the 6 8 was the timing that it was normally in but anyway we'll do that later that's that's not for this program all right i could not do without thee oh wow okay i know attuned to this and i don't know if it's the same tune that this person's referring to but this is the only tune for this song i know so we'll see [Music] i don't know that i've ever played that on a live that was i considered that for uh one of our wedding songs decided on something different but i've always loved that song so that was fun faith is the victory faith is the victory encamped along oh buddy uh faith is the victory let's see please be in here yes 7 27 this is from psalm sims and spiritual songs so several years ago i was in a service and was asked to play this and this i didn't have enough nerve to sight read in front of everybody and they said could i please do that one as the offertory i was just a guest accompanist for the service and i said no and i would not try it in front of everybody because i was embarrassed and now i'm about to try it in front of all y'all and i don't think i've seen it since then so let's see what happens [Music] i have seen it more recently because as i was playing it it was coming back to me but i don't remember we might have sung it as a congregational or something so probably so that wasn't as unfamiliar as i thought it would be take my life and let it be [Music] rejoice in the lord [Music] people need the lord [Music] power in the blood big change in tempo there do [Music] so oh how i love jesus [Music] that was fun are you okay tell me the next request no i have two more that i just remembered and i had them sitting here so i would play them that three more i said two three i walk in the new jerusalem way which is a new one for me but after i said i didn't know it someone sent me the music actually i think several someone sent me the music so thank you and i printed it off and i'm gonna play it so is this a good time to do that one or do you okay so this is i walk in the new jerusalem way uh let's see it's an old song 1932 by h.c thompson and it says albert bro no i'm sorry that's he owns the copy or he owned the copyright albert brumley so good old classic red back type writer he wrote a lot of songs in the red back so this was just a new one for me but it's been fun so let's see uh let's hope i can remember it it's old shape notes and they're real tiny so let's see what happens [Music] fun style to it so i'm sure it would have been better had i known it a little better but i was hanging on there to those little notes and when it changed chords and then the next piece of music that was sent to me very kindly is a page from a hymnal find us faithful which was another song i feel like it was requested quite a lot and i did not know it so as i played it though i thought it kind of sounds familiar but we'll see so this is find us faithful by john moore so it's a not that old 87 1987. [Music] amen that has really good words to it if you're not familiar with that song that was a really great one and then this is the last one that i'll play that was sent to me over email it's called the voice of my savior and i was sight reading it it was josh i think you knew this song like or you were more familiar with it somewhat i i didn't know the title of it but the tune sounded familiar i don't know if it's the same okay uh words well we're about to find out i i may have just thought i had heard it before and not have ever heard it who knows well he heard me sight reading it and i was just sight reading fast right before we went live to see if i could play it and he said i think that's supposed to go a lot slower than that and i said okay i'll play it slower in the episode but i was trying to just get through it and make sure there were no surprises so i made it about two-thirds through so the last third is going to be a surprise to me too but this is called the voice of my savior by a.h ackee so it's an old one let's see 1939 yeah so [Music] pretty song so thank you guys for sending those all right back to your requests from the live episode while i choke all right someone asked if we ever have um favorites at church right yes you know people call out numbers and we sing them and the answer is yes we actually did that very recently wednesday or last sunday i can't remember which i feel like it was last sunday night josh is the music director and i'm the pianist so that's a lot of fun but yeah i always enjoy favorites that's you never know what they're gonna call so it's been fun yeah it's very convenient to have natalie as a pianist let me tell you i probably do better at the favorites nights at church because of doing these because i never know what's coming next anyway so that's a lot of fun but and especially with a new hymnal because we just switched to the bible truth hymns what three weeks ago something like that so i don't know the page numbers and where songs are in the book yet very well and so i'm like trying to turn and i'm a very slow page turner so there's always like a few dead air seconds while the pianist tries to get with it so someone said that they think your piano sounds better since the uh which uh something got it the damp chaser yes yeah so we got a damp chaser put on um a couple months ago now and it controls the humidity and we have a youtube video coming out about it that explains like what is it doing underneath the piano and how does it keep it at a perfect i think it's 42 humidity but um josh is he handles all the like filling the rods with the water mixture that it needs and then it keeps it there's heat rods that can control the humidity like when there's too much and then there's a water pad that can like put humidity back into the instrument i know i knew all this i can't believe that so it's really a fascinating system so yeah we have a video coming out that explains more about it but it has majorly helped the piano it keeps its tune better for sure so yes so if you have a piano that you value i would recommend looking into that piano lifesaver if you look up piano lifesaver you can find the website it's damp chaser corporation is who makes the product all right let's do take a moment and live i'm trying to decide if i'm brave enough to do it without grabbing the hymnal oh man uh i don't think i am hold on i see the hymnal right there so let's see it's okay it's okay she's only breaking nothing broke all right take a moment and live um 26. i knew it was early in the book but i was afraid of trying to all right let's see huh what piano do you have i have a kawaii ca 40a so it's the concert artist series it was a wedding gift my dad picked it out so that makes it really special [Music] next is wonderful peace [Music] such love such love such love such wondrous love do i know that song such love yes it's kind of not ringing a bell well we're hoping you would play the piano not ringing i can't think of how that song goes if i know that sorry it's like not even it's in um our old hymnal what was that called soul stirring soul stirring uh that is in the cabinet but i'd um i probably better not go digging through it i'll have to look up that one i'm so sorry i guess that's the first one i'm sorry it's not ringing the bell at all i've sung it multiple times oh it's yeah that's what i meant when i said she should know this i should know it yeah sorry it's not at all i'll see if it's in here i don't yeah sorry that god should love a sinner such as i no it's nothing it's zero i'm sorry yep not in there you know my jesus do you know my jesus i do and i also know that song so [Music] all right get your hymnals ready okay i have a few page numbers for you all right they're here all right bible truth okay 246. 246. the last line of do you know my jesus says have you heard he loves you and that he will abide till the end and that word abide jumped out at me while i was playing because tonight during the pastor's sermon he read that verse that said where jesus said i will send the comforter and he will abide with you forever and he said if you don't have that underline underline the word forever just to remind yourself of the permanence of god's presence like when you are when you become a believer when you accept jesus christ as your personal savior you get god's presence with you forever that is amazing so i love that thought but when i played that i thought man that's really true he does abide till the end then and time will be no more when we're in heaven so we and we get to dwell with his presence there forever so that's an amazing thought really cool okay this is i'm so happy oh this is a fun course yeah i know this one to 4 14 4 14. okay so this is this world is not my home that's a good one [Music] all right um psalms hymn spiritual songs number 25 25. sing to jehovah a new song i think y'all like to give me the hard ones that i've never heard of and see how they go okay and i have never heard of this one so let's see this is a very old one like um the words are about so it was written by a former president yes john quincy adams it says that down here president and poet john quincy adams pinned with abel verse a metrical version of the psalms upon occasion of hearing the 65th he confessed were it possible to compress into one pulsation of the heart the pleasure which okay that's a really long quote he really liked that psalm i'll tell you that much okay i got to read it and i thought whoa that's a lot and the words are really tiny so this is sing to jehovah a new song president john adams um metrical verse of the 65th psalm [Music] that was beautiful i like the melody of that song the music was written by george stebbins so a lot a lot later all right um that was okay now we're to the red back okay read back got it um so there's been a lot of uh conversation on here about keeping a piano clean so what do you how do you keep your piano so shiny um i bought the polish that kawaii recommended on their website and it's i'm drawing a blank on the name it starts with a c i'll share it this week in a post but i bought the set that had the polish and then the microfiber cloth you can also use the car polish mcgears or meguiars whatever m-e-g-u-i-r apostrophe s that also is good for shiny black piano so if you have the high-glossy ebony piano that works really well um but yeah i actually got the polish that kawaii recommends i don't go over it as often as i should but i do try to keep it clean and relatively fingerprint free so yeah all right read back i'm ready first up is number eight number eight and we are not done with the red backs like whatever we want to call that series on youtube we just have taken a few weeks off a few months i should say but we are getting back to that lord willing there'll be a new one in the next couple weeks so we'll resume that and get that hymnal finished on youtube so you can hear all of the songs in the red bag this is a great one i love the lord down in my heart so how do you feel about that ending uh uh it could have been better [Music] it ended sooner than i i was ready for i don't know i think my mind wandered for a second and then i was like oh wait you're at the end okay okay that was that was good the second ending was better number 16 which is i know he heard my prayer i believe oh yeah that's a great one [Music] so [Music] all right next up is 47 47 [Applause] footprints of jesus well this is good do so 262. uh i don't know this one um okay let's see what happens um i can't remember if we've already recorded this page we have so i should know it so it should come back to me what's it called it's glory for me oh you do wow you've played it more than once okay well that's consoling we'll see if i remember [Music] well there you go i didn't recognize it i didn't either but that doesn't mean i haven't played it it just meant i didn't recognize it just when you said glory for me i was thinking oh that will be glorified oh yeah not that one that's sort of yes yeah all right i have two more we're going to do from the red back okay and i have three other songs and that'll be all right let's finish the red back and then i think you probably have something you want to say and then we'll finish those last three okay 3 10 3 10. oh yeah glad reunion day [Music] and then 350 350. um so there's two on 350 and it's sweet by and by and you never mentioned him to me so i'm going to play you never mentioned him to me instead of sweet buy buying bible because i don't think i've ever played that one on here um that is a very powerful song about it's like a picture of if you saw someone in heaven that you were close to in real life but you never told them about the lord so they stood there not knowing him and they're telling you it's you never mentioned him to me i didn't get a chance to know him so a kind of a thought provoking song to admonish us all to be telling those around us about the love of jesus and that he's the answer to our sin problem nothing else we'll do but jesus christ so all right let's see here i don't know this song but the words are great so i like it [Music] all right so there are three songs left okay in this evening session all right so we'll get to them so let's see here i've posted our schedule like where we're singing this week we're trying to get a little bit better at that so i went ahead and did two weeks at a time so tomorrow night we'll be in statham georgia statham statham i don't know calvary baptist it's in the athens area okay so if you're near there please come out there we'd love to see you and meet you we enjoy that very very much and then let's see thursday we're at the young adult conference at tabernacle baptist church here in greenville south carolina so that's a nice close trip not very far away at all so we'll be there this weekend my dad is preaching there friday night i believe as well so lots happening this weekend and um just lots of good things we're very thankful for the opportunities so let's see i'm putting out some new vocal music on the website over the next couple weeks specifically for children's choirs and choirs so we've got two coral octavos going to be on the site and four children's songs so that's rhett's been a lot of fun they're all original music if you're needing some fresh stuff check them out so that's what's upcoming and let's see and when you finish watching this just scoot over and watch my friend josh townsend he plays live after this so i think he's already live actually so yeah he does a great job really wonderful style i love to hear and play so you'll enjoy that if you're still wanting more music all right i'll tell you all three and you can tell me what order you want to do them okay great is thy faithfulness okay glorious freedom and behold our god behold our god i'm gonna do that one first and then i'll do great as i faithfulness and glorious freedom so thank you guys for joining us we appreciate it very very much it means a lot to us that you spend part of your evening with us each week and we are grateful for you [Music] do you
