"Suits" Script Reading // ATX TV Festival // Season 6

hi everyone guys day 4 of TV camp we've come a long way my name is Anna Leigh Goodson I'm one of the executive directors and cofounders of the festival we are so grateful to have each and every one of you here it's an amazing festival give yourselves a round of applause you guys have been great athlete and I want to take a quick second before we start to thank USA and thank the suit's cast for being here USA was the festival's first sponsor a season one of the festival they have been an amazing partner ever since and with anyone here at opening night the first year you guys about this many people at opening night and we actually screened the season 1 finale of suits that it already aired and it was amazing and so many people left his fans and they have come back a few times now and for us to be able to do this to celebrate the hundredth episode is beyond anything we could have imagined when we started the festival so let's give a big round of applause to them again we love them we love USA now before we bring out the cast we're going to take a very quick look at the past amazing seasons of suits [Applause] [Music] now I'm going to bring out the cast including a couple of ATX guest stars so first I'm going to introduce Robin Ross from our partner Entertainment Weekly that's going to be also moderating and helping out creator Erin Porsche Megan Marple [Applause] Gina Torres and I'd like to announce newest apx ambassador Patrick J Adam Gabriel Mott [Applause] Sarah Rafferty Richthofen miss Wexler and Abigail Spencer [Applause] [Applause] did anyone bring their phone from the Twitter are we going to ever there all right guys let's get serious yeah come on why tell me so [ __ ] what are we doing here I dressed were here for a table reef for the 100th episode of suits to celebrate I wanted to start by saying I wrote this script it seems like a hundred years ago and I was proud of it but they were just words on the page until these six people made every person in this reef come alive [Applause] I remember meeting all of them for the first time it was it was amazing and I want to say having said all that [ __ ] up one line today all right let's get started you guys ready all right it might wait can I just say one thing in my recollection of this process for getting the pilot it was all improvised well then let's close our script yeah I'm stunned by all the revisions a lot of revision a lot of revisions and the funny thing is I don't you guys don't see this there are so many revisions and this was after there'd been 30 versions of the script before this honestly oh hey I hear Scotty's in this in this version Scotty hey can we give it up for Scotty all right we ready to dive in all right interior state of the art conference room two teams of lawyers scream across the sleekest conference table you've ever seen one of them Louis litt quietly exits we follow him through the hallways to Jessica Pearson's office Gerald takes here he wants to know what's happening to his deal go get Harvey interior private poker room five men play poker clothes on Harvey Specter v competent in the middle of a hand it's on I will walk out I check race that doesn't I'm all-in he reads a text from Jessica I need you you can pay me later I gotta go we're back at Jessica Pearson's office Gerald tapes yelling at Jessica's Harvey was saunters in I'm paying you millions you're telling me I'm gonna get screwed Jessica have I come at a bad time gerald this is Harvey Specter he's our best closer well if you're the best closer where the hell have you been for the last three hours he scans the memos well Gerald I specialize in troubled situations and when I left here at 7:00 p.m. this this deal wasn't in jeopardy so I'm just trying to figure out what happened in the interim we keep offering more money and they keep rejecting it it's last minute bad faith [ __ ] says here Cooper won't be staying on as honorary vice president that's right I don't want a [ __ ] key he wouldn't be around it's an honorary position I don't give a [ __ ] well I think you do because that's what changed since I left which means it's you who's been dealing in bad Trey well now that you've gotten a grasp on what's happening the goddamn interim what are you going to do about it because he's not getting that tight well then let me make sure I understand that okay we negotiated a deal that gave you everything you wanted mr. Cooper signed it and now you all closed until we take away the last shred of his dignity bingo well that's not gonna happen and why the hell not because I like mr. Cooper and my firm doesn't operate in bad faith oh I see I see how it is instead of working Cooper you're working me well why don't you take your pansy attitude back in there and make him sign my deal or I'll pay someone else your money to do it for me well first of all Gerald if you think anyone is going to touch this deal after your bad faith you're miss taken second the way our agreement works is the minute coupe this feels like I'm deplaning that same way that we did so real it's okay we just like kind of like turning on identities like they're pretty shocked then let's give it a shot okay like you talk like this whole time like a second all the way our agreement works is the Mini Cooper signed the deal would get you everything you wanted our fee was doing payable which is why at 7:30 I received confirmation of a wire transfer from escrow indicating payment in full he removes the back now it's men's mariah's go get it going everyone gonna be sorry so I paid the balls in your court but the truth is your balls are in my fist I love them now I apologize if that image is too pansy for you but I'm comfortable enough with my manhood to put it out there now Harper holds out the fact that Gerald dumbstruck you know get your ass in there and close the goddamn deal you let him talk to me like this Harvey speaks to the phone Gerald exits Jessica leaned tender Harvey we got paid before Gerald signed the deal look what are you talking about this is a memo from some fire drill on Tuesday you're the blue team captain you get to wear a fur hat and we meet Harvey and Jessica for the first time all right we were in an elf that testing facility a large room filled with college students furiously racing to finish the test until we find one who seems unfazed Mike Ross kick-ass man of suits not norrrreeeeen sign of directions I'm poorly improvising anyway Mike notices a proctor walked by looking at him curiously turns a test over and pretend to nervously work on a blue speed up time until finally the proctor yells time's up pencils down Mike tosses his test on the pile as he does excuse me going to know you from somewhere uh I don't think so I have a pretty good memory for faces so do I the proctor sets mic test down on the side of the pile as this happens and other girls test falls to the floor Proctor bends down to pick it up Mike picks his test up puts it in the middle of pile runs away the proctor notices it and hey hey stop you and the cap or we all know what happens here Mike runs out of the room everybody knows you've all seen it he runs out he bursts through the door the Proctor's chasing and Mike doesn't know what to do he turns lefty turns right he runs into the bathroom he takes his shirt off he takes his glasses off he's about to take the cap off but he doesn't throw it in the trash can to get that in the room take the pants off take his underwear off the silencer is everything Procter burst out of the door as he's about to turn around and see Mike Mike sees a person coming towards him who happens to conveniently be wearing a shirt that's just like the one Mike threw away all right maybe it's bad writing I don't know Mike died as he walked away to proctors about the turn Mike walks into the camera and we meet him for the first time Mike got them raw interior small apartment later that day Mike bangs on the door young man opens it this young man looked a lot like some of the the Proctor and Gerald Tate I don't know why and the [ __ ] would you get me what I said I was going to get here for 158 I told you I wanted a 175 and I told you that only one out of a hundred people could score that you're a b-minus student you've got a thousand on your SATs if I get you a 175 they'll know you cheated so only a genius loser can get a 175 actually no I would get a 180 now can I have my money please he produces a wad of cash thank you that's right whoa this is only half then why don't you go call the police the young man slammed the door Mike's face at this point if we had that in and it's all in here yeah [Music] a bunch of copyright laws oh man we're all going to get sued that song was picked by Kevin Bray the director the pilot who is not here today but thank you Kevin period and here's we're here in spirit all right we are in Trevor's apartment Mike it's pad of a drug dealer Trevor takes the bite of a cheeseburger savors it might take the hit then turns to Trevor I got to get my [ __ ] together why oh that is the best cheeseburger I have had in my life it's from Monday Trevor look man I'm serious I almost got caught today I got to stop getting stoned I got to get my act together dude look at me you can burn bud and still be a success you sell pot for a living it still saps the motivation all I'm saying is you want in you re you know that is word-for-word your offer before I got caught cheating on your math test in the third grade goddamn memory stop look no one is going to suspect that you're a dealer look at me this is a $2,000 suit Mike I've got 12 of them I take on real software projects I have clients who bring me briefcases filled with cash and I hand them identical briefcases with a Trager your grandmother's getting worse I need to move her to full care or I'll have to transfer her to a state facility I won't put her in a state facility and I'm afraid you'll have to come up with $25,000 listen he keeps walking the dog Trevor Trevor I'm in one-time deal I want 25 take it or leave it we're back with Trevor and three men there's Hugh - marijuana guns everywhere Trevor answers the phone I'll take it as a briefcase in my room pick it up tomorrow take it to room 241 to Chilton hotel now you can't go to a luxury hotel looking like a delivery guy so shave comb your hair buy a suit that's a hell of a lot to ask man I'm not asking you I'm paying you $25,000 okay if we're back Trevor hangs up the phone turns of the main dealer he's in good nice your Victor yeah they sure looked a lot like Gotti let me take a piss Trevor active in 24 hours we'll know if this new buyers a cop huh it's not highlighted but I'm guessing it's in here you can do it I'll do it why don't you tell Trevor he might be sending his guy into a setup same reason I didn't tell Gina I'm banging her sister it'll only cause trouble we're the record for the record I do not know if Gina Torres has a sister hey Trevor Spaceballs you heard what they said what's up I'm just going to take off I don't think you should why don't you stay with us until tomorrow now give me your cell phone give me your phone yeah and don't even think about warning your boy because if these guys are cops whoever is holding that weed is going to jail for a long time this last line is said as Mike rides away from Grammys he's in deep [ __ ] acting too Mike Trevor's condo getting ready to go to a drug deal Jenny dinners hey hey oh god just get the hell out of me sorry look at you you look great thanks tell me you decided to work with Trevor uh yeah a trial basis yeah hey come here she fixes his toy very intimate he when I was perfect on your first day yeah I've got I've gotta go as Mike heads to the deal we are in the children hotel suite 2005 Donna sits at a desk waiting for a wave of interviewees the mighty Donna paulsen Harvey pokes his head out of the inner room Donna we're going to need to streamline this give each guy a hard time before you send them back give me a wink and if they say something clever and give me a wink if they say something funny okay okay what are you looking for another leak back in the lobby Mike enters he walks and he sees a sign for Harvard Law interview suite 2005 they are all dressed exactly like him we're back in the hotel suite with Harvey and Donna young straight-laced applicant stand in front of Donna so chip what makes you think that I'm going to let the whitest man I've ever seen have an interview for our firm because I have an appointment this guy's not getting a wink we are back in a hotel bathroom Mike is in front of the mirror puts water on his face takes a deep breath oh you can do this you can do this dolmen cups up to the sink lays a pair of white gloves down in washes his hands Mike picks up his briefcase and heads out notices the gloves as he goes to the elevators he sees a sign pool closed during construction we're back in the hotel suite another applicant in front of Donna he's short kid what is wrong with you you look like you're 11 years old I was late to puberty this kid looks a lot like Scotty anyway non amused no wink for him Mike walked to the elevator he checks this watch it's just about when he needs to be there he sees a man a bellman and a man in suit in front of the room he's supposed to go into something's not right he thinks about it this Bell man isn't wearing gloves who saw them he saw the gloves and the Bell man in the bathroom he thinks something's not right he remembers the pools closed sign he walks right up to the Bell man and ask excuse me I was thinking about going for a swim or the pool facilities here nice of course then this is the Chilton hotel I'm not even going to tell you who that Bell man looks like all right he turns for the man in the suit do you have the time it's 10 o'clock Thanks he knows got to get out of there and he walks away he saw your gun you think there's him matches the description but he didn't go in the room go after him stay on the radio all right we all know this thing Mike runs away they face it they follow me runs down the stairs he's running he's running they're following their phone it's very exciting well director Mike the briefcase bangs on the stairs because something's going to happen later when he walks in the room with Harvey but back at the hotel Donna calls out Rick Sorkin Rick Sorkin just then Mike bursts in Rick Sorkin excuse me mr. Sorkin you're five minutes late is there a reason why I should let you in uh look I'm just trying to ditch the cops okay I don't really care if you let me in or not Harvey opens the door finally we get a wink from Donna they found the guy mr. Specter we'll be right back with you can I get you anything coffee bottled water we are cutting inside Mike and Harvey shake hands hi Rick Sorkin hi respector nice to meet you don't you have a seat here as they shake the briefcase bursts open huge bunch of weed drums out Wow was this holy [ __ ] it's a little later Mike's obviously told the story of the weed in his hole practically his whole life I don't know how we did that but go and how the hell did they know and how the hell did you know they were the police I read this novel in elementary school is the exact same thing you read a established that Mike I'd like to work it's different than a lot of other people he walks into the firm he's stunned it's amazing he can't believe it all of a sudden out of nowhere Mike Ross he turns around he's been hit by a bolt of lightning because he's met Rachel Zane hi I'm Rachel Zane I'll be giving you your orientation wow you're pretty okay good good you've hit on me we can get out of the way that I'm not interested know what no I'm sorry I wasn't hitting on you trust me I've given dozens of these and without fail whatever new hotshot it is things that because I'm just a paralegal then I will somehow be blown away by his dazzling degree but let me assure you I won't take notes nothing repeat myself she walks away we're now in the hallway Rachel continues a tour the firm operates on approaches his door senior partner newly stenciled on it he notices a man is scratching the senior off excuse me why are you scratching off the senior off my door I got a work order to take it off who issued the work order goddamn it my supervisor why did he issue the work order if I knew that I'd be his supervisor you seem to be enjoying yourself I haven't enjoyed myself since 2004 Oh baby Donna shows up Donna someone's trying to have a little fun with me here Jessica wants to see you in our office now holy [ __ ] we are back Rachel arrives with Michaels cubicle finishing the tour and finally this is where you'll live Wow I'm sorry what's wrong with you I gave you that notepad for a reason you haven't taken one note oh yes it's because I said you were too busy ogling me to listen to word up said partners offices anchor the wings v boards research six of security all work gets billed even if it's finding an address I answered the Harvey and Lois lid and judging by the way you responded to my questions I should admire Harvey in fear Louis you've been here for five years and just because I outrank you does not mean I have the authority to command your services oh and it's also pretty when you thought I got away with it but you didn't get away with it and I can't justify handing you a promotion on the same day that you lose a huge client one client doesn't make a firm I don't know if you've noticed but we're in the middle of an economic meltdown companies aren't exactly lining up to spend money on attorneys right now and you know Gerald might have forgiven the line had you not humiliated him but you did and you need to accept that Jessica if you hadn't done as much for me as you have I'd be heading for the door if I hadn't done as much for you as I have I'd be throwing you out the window I'm sorry not even if Harvey were only that easy no more shenanigans you do one more thing that isn't straight as an arrow and instead of covering your ass I'll put you in front of the bar myself we're back in Harvey's office he comes in doesn't see Mike sit in there Mike hey who's ready for a great first day I'm gonna have to let you go what just got reamed for lying to a client and if they find out that I lied about you going to Harvard they'll take my they'll take away my license you what not not now Donna look I have to put my own interests above yours it's nothing personal but you're fired woo-wit MIT so you're worried that if I stay then they might find out that you lied about me and you lose your license but if you fire me then I could tell them that you lied about me and then you would definitely lose your life are you telling me that if I throw you under the bus you're going to drag me with you what made you put your interests above mine I'm just putting mine back up next to yours and big error of judgment right here you're rehired okay so should i okay all right Harvey walks right back into Jessica's office okay here's what's going to happen you're going to give me back my promotion and that's the last we're going to talk about this and why is that because if you don't I'm going to go across town enjoying Rick Peterson I'm going to I'm going to approach every client I've ever closed and I'm going to take them with me oh you do that you'll force me to put you in front of that you do that you'll force me to put you in front of the Ethics Board I don't think you will and why not because you are obligated to notify them the second I lied to Gerald but you didn't you put me if you put me in front of that board right now I'll put you right up anything a pro bono she Oldham a file anything but that Harvey pro bono cases are how we as a firm show that we care about more than just ourselves I'm not saying we shouldn't do them I'm saying I shouldn't do them and it's how you can show me that you care about more than just yourself you'll handle this yourself you will not pass it off absolutely she taught some violet flies in the air and lands in Mike's laps your first case awesome what is it pro bono sexual harassment don't tell anyone that later it off on you and don't screw it up got it you can't handle it I'll knock it out of the my mind what'd you find there was a dismissal March 12 2005 but the file with the employee meat pony name on it is missing that's our woman I know it I'm going to move to slap sanctions on their attorney possible jail time and the guy is not going to know what hit them Harvey thousands found Dennis entire sector did you have anything to do with the March 12th 2005 files left out of discovery if they're here by noon I'll believe you if not we're filing for sanctions he hangs up threat of sanctions is better than filing for sanctions yeah that's what I meant you know threatened sits not cubicle opens desk door locks briefcase in it Harvey where have you been hi getting drug tested actually the depositions this afternoon before they get here I want you to grill this woman about her background for anything they might use against her you got it got it make her tell you everything everything everything everything everything okay we're in the deposition everybody's in there Harvey Mike Dennis Joanna Charles hunt sonographer I've been working in six months when mr. hunt started asking me to work more order dinner one night late he tried to have sex with me no it's not just ran nothing nothing happened I couldn't fix it so you're gonna quit with either that or have Louis lit fire me what are you talking about my first day Lewis fired Gary Lipsky for screwing up a case he said if I did the same thing I'd be gone just as fast well you go back to your witnesses house and you get her to testify again I tried there's no way there's always a way then why don't you go and convince her because you screwed it up oh and you don't give a damn about the client right that's not my job is your job including giving a damn about me because the least you could do is offer to stand up to Lewis for me stand up for you I put my ass on the line for you but it turns out you may have had the ball okay but it turns out you may have had the balls to get this job but you don't match before he can take the hit he puts down in his custom runs out of the apartment meanwhile back at the firm Lewis washes his hands in the men's room Harvey storms in hey I get that you were upset because I was promoted before you but if you ever threaten to fire one of my guys again I am kick your ass what are you talking about don't play dumb with me all right you fired Gary Lipsky in front of Mike Ross what's so funny Gary lives he works in the mailroom what I didn't fire anyone that's how I let the new associates know what's expected of them you plant a fake employee to manipulate the attorney that's it what back in Mike's grandmother's room Mike enters the room grandmother's asleep she wakes up he sits down Michael I want to quit come here when your parents died I lost my son and my daughter-in-law I was scared alone and I was too old to radio but I had no choice because who else was going to take care of my grandson you made me a promise before you're in the door promise me now the only way you leave is if they rip you out well Harvey shows up at Joanna's department he knocks on the door she opens it you can save your breath there's no way I'm testifying at the hearing tomorrow that's not why I'm here I know what you did what are you talking about you never worked at Devlin MacGregor and you never and you were never Harris no she wasn't I'm sorry Harris what is Hera didn't remember half of that yeah that was a trip like a specific memory yeah during the pilot you met my first impressions of meeting each other I just remember it being like shooting like a sometimes work can feel like work from this felt like play the whole time I thought it was like Aaron's first show on his everyone just had this feeling of like it was a first flush of we all just wanted to figure it out we're having a great time out of people on here had been on many series before for me it was the first thing I had ever really done of this size and it just felt like everybody was in it together and we were like we would stay longer than you would normally stay to make the scene work and make each other laugh and so much of what was going on between Gabriel and I think was just how could we like take the piss out of each other even more and more and more and keep each other awake in the late nights and just make everybody behind video village laugh and I just remember it being like they didn't feel like a job it felt like we were left of our own devices which is rare - everything we had that group email the other day and I was saying we had all lived in the same corporate housing yeah so on top of working together we were all living together yeah which makes a whole different dynamic I think we just became this little family right out of the gate yeah that was really sweet there was there was an instant level of comfort and and there was chemistry that's only grown and when you have that it's it's safe it's safe to play it safe to explore it's safe to you know take chances and and I think it's for - we didn't really get to see it in this episode but there is nothing I love more than a Rachel Donna scene as I'm sure everyone here does do you have a favorite team that you guys have done together oh I mean the shell Rollins you Michelle Ross I'm Harriet Specter it was the best when they go to the bar and they take on these different personas and we you know we just sort of played around with that again recently no it's great all the themes are good and what was the one we're in the bath my favorite when I've ever liked Michael your nose with a brush and I got to watch Megan's nose like moved like I don't even know how you do that what's been do it for everybody no it's like that'll be which twitch right yeah cranking out so I do it so I I think we did it a few extra times good-natured fun Aaron which character do you think has changed the most since this first eyelid oh wow a good question I'm you know while they were reading this I was like it they're they've changed a lot they've obviously changed tremendous amount but they're the same the dynamics are very much the same they they progress they've evolved but I feel like in many ways they're the same I don't know how to answer whose change the most could be Lewis to be Harvey to be done it could be Mike I think I'd say so us there there you go that's what I think I'm seeing a change I mean like finally a lawyer now how does it feel heading into the next season I mean it's cool it's cool to see the beginning of like I'm going to vote that line I'm going to be the best goddamn lawyer you've ever seen and to think now what we're shooting is he is the best you know the better under this guy the best goddamn boy in this lady very gay it's maybe not the best yet it's going to be a thing yeah it's funny you know we began a story with this pilot of somebody hiding it's great secret and it carried so much of the show for so long that it's interesting to be shooting a show now that isn't isn't it still infected by those years but informed by those years but it's not under the weight of all of that it's pretty cool you guys are going to hit 100 episodes very soon when the season comes back first any surprises that you like plan and Pat Reardon direct I am I'm directing yeah yeah so far after this read-through learning I also want to say Rick Meraki one of our writers that's been with the show since day one is going to be writing 100th episode I want to give them a shout out I also want to thank Jay partisan gene Klein my producing partners that face I mean but it just wasn't like it was like a record the entire me who choked in Austin Texas and that makes it all get it I fell off my plastic chair on my back laughing my head on this guy couldn't find the humor in it you should used to tell it one more time just to see if he gets that the second time go ahead yeah now he gets read do you just keep complaining about the highlighted script you're reading and barri harvey and lewis or nothing like Gabriel and actually pens is true we are I got to just say being here today for this is you know hundred episodes and you guys sitting here in front of us this is this is truly like winning not one lottery ticket but three because it takes one lottery ticket to actually get a pilot it takes another lottery ticket to have a show that not only is picked up but actually lasts and has legs but to sit here for 100 episodes with my cast members who we all still like can actually look at each other and work together and like you know it's been six years and still have great quality of writing and it's it's it's it's it's impossible and to be here in front of you I can't thank you guys enough for being here to support this show and actually sit through the pilot read I mean I just all I got to say is thank you and I'll never I'll never forget it kena I think everyone here was really excited to see you return in the finale so I think we're hoping that you haven't closed the door and stepping Jackson's and Jessica's shoes again we might see your whole body went to that door open on my way I've got a Louboutin right yes in the door at all times yes do you have a favorite moment of yours from playing character over the years there's so many I have to say some of my favorite scenes are are with Lois I mean she thank you know you and I have our thing but what Lois brings out in Jessica is you see how she can manage absurdity you know I kind of straightforward with with Harvey and I and it's and it's charged so charged but then you see this other side and and it's sort of brilliant how it's when you see her deal with Harvey it's one thing when you see her deal with Lewis then you really see why she has that corner office and why it's all it all works together because she can do both and she can inspire them to do whatever she wants them to do and that's and so that's great for any of you was there a scene over the years that was particularly really challenging and tough mud - annex in the file room was weird BAM was wait yeah of course that was a little strange I mean I only episode was hard yeah yeah that was fun Rick you had such an emotional scene in the finale and thought Lewis got his heart broken yet again uh yeah I mean get that if that's also something it's unbelievably scary like you know that particular scene that I had with Rachel's List last season and then the one in in the episode this is Rome with Jessica when Lewis finds out Mike's lie those are all like the most scary moments when I read in the script you know oh my god how the hell if you know it's just those are challenging those are like but beyond like it's just an unbelievable you know I just hope you know I just hope each time that it comes out the way Aaron earn and whoever else and the viewers want it to Aaron usually calls me when it doesn't tell me that I suck and when it's awesome no no no but um and when he's fired and when I fired Rick 43 or 45 minutes or less I wouldn't know what to do without the firing hey I don't want to say because I'm thinking about this as these guys are here we write these things and you know we're in a room we're sitting we read them out loud and we feel like they can do this it's no problem it's so hard to be an actor it is unbelievably hard and the things they do they're always game for it they always give it a 150 percent and we're asking them to do things that are emotional vulnerable cry be funny sometimes in the same scene and they're amazing we would not be here I said this at the beginning who said again if it weren't for these six people right here you would not be here we have another question from Facebook for everyone who is your favorite guest star on the show so far you had so many really great one Abigale spend all the roles so lucky with it I mean how many would we like choosing a favorite child Wendell Pierce we all like obviously my wife my come in and kill it with a character we only get a couple of teams to do it we've been so blessed with all of our guest cast thank you is there anyone you'd love to bring back that maybe you haven't been able to for various reasons but you're hoping to get them back in a Charles Barkley I'd like to work with ya that was great that was great day well we owe in the writers room we have sort of a bunch of cards with all the guest stars with the characters names that we've worked with over the years to remind us of them and then what will happen is when we're breaking a story and we're trying to think of something the character that is right to come back sort of emerges oftentimes three or four the writers will all think of that character at the same time because we know it's time for that person to come back david costabile brilliant oh um who plays Hartman so there's just so many I mean I want them all to come back and we can't see them all again but I hope to see many of them again season seven is just around the corner we already touched on it but it's a bit of a reset and we're seeing some people in certain new situations Rachel also is finally going to be a lawyer does that reinvigorate you to sort of reset and see your characters in a little bit of a different situation are you Megan oh I mean of course I'm so I'm so happy that especially reading the pilot again you get to see where she started even saying you know talking about Harvey Specter and saying but I don't really know him or work with them and to watch that progression she's worked so hard and I love that as a role model how she's been crafted to balance it all but yeah and now have this place at the firm where she really knows her standing and her office isn't just because she's a good researcher it's because she's an associate she's really earned that spot and Patrick here finally I know you were away for so long and you didn't get to be in the office and you're in jail and you're just off on your own all over the place so now you're gonna the dream team is back as the new promo yeah that's cool it's like they're back but it's also you know it's a little different Jessica leaving I think a big hole in the firm and it sort of puts this guy in the position where he's got to change how he operates and everyone has to kind of change how they do things because Jessica was such an important part of the of the firm's the daily running of the firm and for Mike I think you know he figured out what kind of work he wants to do and then Harvey pulled him in and convinced him that you know this is a place where he can do a little bit of both and this season's really fun to watch Mike you know it's fun to read the script and see the seeds of that Mike that's like oh I guess I help people that's the drug that's the fix he got at the beginning I actually changed a woman's life and and did something great for her and that's kind of means something to him but it's not as meaningful to him in that pilot and it sets the pace of this character that still to this day is reaching to keep changing people's lives as much as he can but he's got to balance it with you know working at a corporate law firm so it feels like we're finally that is coming to an absolute head now that having to choose between those two worlds well on that note suit season 7 premieres Wednesday July 12 on USA and
