back with another video today we strictly be flying today and if you guys don't know I've been getting into flying for I think it's been the past like 2 and 1/2 months took my Discovery flight I decided that I really did enjoy flying and I wanted to learn how to fly a plane and so I've been working on that I'm getting ready for my check ride my check ride is coming up in about 3 weeks the only reason it's coming up so much later is because I'm going on vacation uh on a cruise for 2 weeks I just been flying a lot I've been doing cross countries to get your commercial pilot license you need to have 250 hours in like 50 Cross Country hours so even though I don't have my PPL yet I'm already working on those hours cross country so I can get that done by the time I start working on my commercial and I can just focus on Commercial Maneuvers I'm not going to sit here and Yap too much I'm going to take you guys to ATC as a student pilot I don't see many videos on YouTube about it so I am a student pilot that's solo that uh can talk to ATC and I'll be doing across country all in one video uh make sure to leave a like comment subscribe if you like the video it's going to Branch out to lift our flaps up here and we're going to be taxing 216 it looks like we're going to listen to the Adis and awas before we take off here automated weather observation 1 1806 Zulu weather wind 1 5 0 at 1 1 gust two 1 visibility 1 0 1 1,000 scattered temperature 2 3 Celsius do Point minus three altimeter 2 ner Niner four remarks density altitude 6,5 her 11 knots of wind gusting to 21 knots but I know the wind is coming 180° so I know that we're going to be using six and I know I'm going to go to Provo today um I just got to make sure the weather looks good um 14 knots of win nothing too crazy we're VFR so I Know I Can Fly today just being cautious of the wind um and stuff like that I might just practice a landing uh just to see but I have been flying a lot guys lately we're going to lean the taxi out here um since football we're on break right now but yeah let's give my call out here we're going to be taxing from the north ramp sou by traffic commuter 506 Delta Echo taxing from the north ramp to runup 16 via Bravo South Valley all right guys so I am going to be basically doing pre-light checklist to make sure my uh plane is good to go someone's engine shut out which is not not the funnest thing ever um but yeah so I'm going to check my flight controls it's really hot today so I got to open up that window so basically when I do this I want to see my aerons make sure they're working which they are make my elevator see if they're working they're looking beautiful and then my ruds make sure that's good okay I'm make sure my flight instruments are set so I'm going to be looking at um my heading indicator here for my magnetic compass I make sure I align that together um we're also going to make sure we're in trim before we take off make sure our flaps are at 0° and then so boom make sure you're full Rich here which I made that mistake just now just make sure you're full rich now start twisting out you're going to want to see these RPMs increase turn final once you see these RPMs increase that means you know it's about to drop and you want to be performing at the leanest possible to save yourself some fuel you see that little bit of increase in RPM right here okay now it's about to drop so it's dropping I'm going to save her then I'm going to give her seven twists 1 2 3 4 five 6 seven so now I'm going to check my carburetor heat see that uh RPM drop looks beautiful good now I'm going to check my magnetos my left and right uh side here so right awesome about a 75 magd drop which is perfect again about a 75 mag drop again for the left perfect so that's beautiful uh I'm going to check while my engine is running this High suction gauge is in the green a meter is looking beautiful um yeah and I look at my oil pressure oil temperature I already looked at that but I like looking at it multiple times um and now I'm going to go back to 800 to 1,000 here South Valley trafficer 506 Delta Echo is taxing from run up to hold short 16 number two South Valley it is hot as a mother trucker in here oh my gosh all right so now we're going to look for traffic we're g make sure that guys wheels up left cross one Forest Valley so cool Bravo November is out of here let's wait till their wheels up ramp taxing to Runway 160 November is up South Valley traffic commuter 506 Delta Echo is taxiing on to Runway 16 for departure South Valley all right so we are taxing on the runway whis cross turning down for it is a windy day so I got to be aware and be aware R aware so we're going to put heels on the Ground full power here now we're going to see that our RPMs are becoming alive air speed's picking up suction gauge is in the green oil pressure is green oil temps green we're looking good we have a good heading here we're about to get 50 knots we got 50 knots I'm slowly picking up mistake ground effect here so we can let air speed pick up now we're at 65 the wind is ready to throw me the wind is winded now we're picking up we're getting about 500 uh feet per minute we got our air speed at 65 that's the best VY if you guys are studying right now we we took off well that was that was perfect uh I'm going to head to Provo talk to HC you guys can see what it's like wanting to getting into the pattern and getting some uh some work in like that about to get my last car out to South Valley let them know I'm over the point of the mountains at 6,300 and I'm headed eastbound off South Valley traffic commuter 506 Delta Echo over the point of the mountains at 6,300 I'm headed eastbound last call I just told them it was my last call there so they know I'm not I'm switching radios South Valley traffic 70 hotel park on the go Runway 16 sou 7 and then we're going to listen to 125.30 [Applause] [Applause] 506 Delta Echo is requesting to enter your airspace uh currently at 6,15 mil north of your airport over the I15 Bravo Tower commuter 506 ZTA eeko is about 10 mil north of your airspace cruising at 6,000 over the I15 requesting protection goes November 506 Delta e I5 southbound follow I15 southbound November 506 EO so basically you just told me follow I15 southbound and when he acknowledges you basically he's telling you you can get into the airspace but you also got to follow what he's says oh I just killed a bug what is a bug doing at 6,000 ft right now how does it even get up here6 Del EO make straight airport I don't know if you guys can see it from here down Runway 13 bra so we're probably going to do like two to three Landings here and then we're going to head out going to practice my short field Landings so if you guys are pilots watching this uh this is short Field Land and I've been struggling uh with my short field Landings lately um but you got to keep reing it keep practicing it um and once I start struggling with things like that I make sure to book my instructor again uh just just so he can give me some help Comm 6 rway 13 clear touch and go and then make left Clos traffic clear is educational for other student Pilots for people that are looking in to be a student pilot it's definitely rewarding it's super cool to say that you know how to fly a freaking plane which is insane it's super fun even if football does work out I'm staying in the aviation business Aviation world it's super rewarding and I feel like if you have the right Aviation business with the right school you can make a lot of money um and it's not all about just making money you got to really enjoy what you do I don't view this as oh I got to go out and get my hours you know like some I feel like some Pilots they they look at this like I gotta go give my hours I look at this like I get a fly today this is awesome like it's a beautiful day yeah the wind is kind of high but it's a beautiful day only 5% of Pilots are black so I'm a 5center man hey you know I'm black and white but hey I'm still black so I'm that 5% so let's let's put into account that I am black and white and you know how many extra fuel that I have so I'm currently I think I'm 10 and 10 now no I don't think I know cuz I need to know that jeez it's hot hot today clear prop and I already feel some it all right now we're sitting at 6,500 um and yeah I just checked the wind and then so basically what you do once you're in this situation you tune in to the a a whatever it is over there and then you do this South Valley Regional Airport automated weather observation 2 0 07 Zulu weather wind 1 40 at 1 1 gust two 0 visibility 1 0 1 2,000 scattered temperature 2 4 C do point - 3 altimeter 2 ner 8 Niner remark density altitude 6,700 not you did that all right so basically dad just told me that the wind is at 140° 11 knots gusting to 20 knots wi so I'm going to be landing Runway 17 and then it told me Clos are at about 2,000 AGL which does not look like 2000 a looks higher than that but so we're going to stay clear that and then yeah traffic helicopter 72 weather Fin and I'm actually about to get my call out here 7 on alpha parel 16 for Al intersection it's a cool Little River it's like a river lake go down here it's so long like how do they make these bmade Lakes like that pretty cool s M 56 the EO the point of mountains at 6,500 PL on ins in the right 45 downland of 16 sou again what I just said to the whole people that's at South Valley I told them my altitude which is 6,500 then I told them I'm over the point of the mountain which is on my GPS and then I or my adsv and then I it's GPS but then I told them I want to enter it on the right 45 downwind so I'm going to enter in the 45 on the downwind of6 so I'm going to enter in like halfway into the downwind into 16 and then start my trash pattern turn base turn final full stop and then get off the airp so yeah I just it sounded so complicated to me like it still kind of sounds complicated when I say it but now it's just like so you do so much repetition it's repetitive that you're Fly school you'll you'll know exactly what I'm
