Street Racing at the Mexico BORDER - Police, Wheelies, and $16,000 Pot!

[Music] hey [Music] [Music] the car's moving this weekend we're here for battle of the border 32 cars small tire race 500 buy-in 16 000 pot and the main reason we're here is because of the location this is the closest we've ever been to the border we always street race in mexico but that is literally the border wall that you see behind me and the street racing spot is literally right there so quite the event and we're about to kick off the driver's meeting here in a little bit but we're gonna check out some of the cars show you what showed up see some of these badass small tire street cars that showed up and then we'll get to racing [Music] we got a bug look at this thing oh my god well there's a variety of cars here but i think if we were handing out wards you'd probably get the most unusual car here thank you it's a bug with a blow through set up a draw through it's a 62 volkswagen beetle uh it's got a 2110 small motor a stock transaxle it's a pan body car meaning it's not a chassis car like most easier it's a factory special geometry weighs 2160 pounds and makes just under 400 horsepower jesus christ man yeah what kind of times do you run with this uh fastest that's ever gone was a 533 135 and we ended up blowing a cylinder head off of it that night but uh tonight it's a lot better off we got a hundred shot of nitrous on it so let's see if we can hang with these guys so you got like all of the weight in the bag yes that's the problem it does big wheelies oh yeah all right we're trying to keep it down so it doesn't do big wheelies and we might be able to compete all right man well sir good luck all right you bet be safe out there i saw this beautiful chevelle over here i had to come check it out what do we got going under the hood of this thing uh 388 guard block with a force inductions gt 55 94 millimeter 94 94 big boy i see it in the grill there it's looking good yeah tonight try to put like 1300 horsepower right now we're trying to put down tonight you think this big big girl is going to keep up with these cars probably not there's some bears out here you got a point you can pick on i'm sure 32 cars a lot to go through the biggest cash days i've ever been part of for sure oh yeah it's one of the prettiest cars here though you got to be proud of that thank you i appreciate it i've only had this for a week a week a week i've driven it twice is it pretty heavy 27 33. that's not bad it's not bad i was expecting 3 000 something who do you got you guys so you got a camaro first round as a turbo car nitrous car uh 94 millimeter single turbo casualties we go to they have 32 cars on the list and like 18 or 25 show up tonight there are 32 locked in for 500 so we have a minimum of 16 grand for the pot plus whatever spectators turned in so it could be up to eighteen thousand dollars the federales did show up just a few minutes ago and apparently they're here to check out the cars they said they advise us not to race but whatever happens once they leave is up to us so pretty cool down here uh yeah battle the border kicks off right now we're gonna start first around just a second [Music] richie [Music] [Music] [Music] hell yeah it's actually happening battle on the border oh right lane by two [Applause] [Music] blue camaro took it there's a blue chevelle coming up later next up is the beetle and the cobra and last night we saw the beetle testing on the road he was pulling some massive wheelies he even broke the fuel filter out the back of this car basically his wheelie bar hopefully keeps it in his lane that's the key the funny thing is he doesn't need a burnout because it's so sticky out here [Music] the beetle doesn't even need a burnout because it's so sticky he was doing wheelies without a burnout [Music] well that didn't work transmission yep ready damn it's coming here oh that's not good right yeah it's randy damn we don't get to see the bottle beetle run tonight we got to see some wheelies last night we'll just throw it in right here so you can get some enjoyment out of it [Music] okay there we go here we go fourth pair pulling up yeah next up we got the turbo fox body from fast life and the ls9 fox body on spray and fourth pair [Music] [Music] god damn that was sketchy right lane took it on that one [Music] oh [Music] damn right lane taking it again left lane got out on him though and he came around him the dsm pulling up i don't think he's gonna do a burnout that probably wouldn't be good for an all-wheel drive car he's going up against a uh [Music] first win in the left lane the dsm goes home unfortunately i was hoping for that car to go rounds that thing's pretty nasty but the fox body looked like he had a lot more power on him and got him out of the hole too that's not even on the cruise [Music] [Laughter] [Music] and whatever else pulls up here well i just heard that the orange 240 can't build boost right now for some reason so he's just sitting it out unfortunately but i really wanted to see that car run hopefully later this week we can see on the street somewhere else that things are bad so the supercharged fox body is going to move on to the next round with a competition bye [Music] we got us a chevy 2 here it's something i've learned over the years you can never count one of these cars out these things are usually pretty quick and this thing looks like it's got two turbos on it so i'm guessing it moves out yeah it's a simple 20 turbo ls rod piston old 90s race car nothing special i love how it looks the orange paint really sets it off yeah thank you appreciate it good luck here tonight be safe out there man thank you we got something a little different out here the battle of the border got a 60s corvette with twin turbos and what engines in here it's got a 376 l92 rector head type thing all right with a car definitely different because especially looking around the parking lot you got the convertible got the right yeah that's probably not the most ideal but it'll work they're pretty quick on the street yeah it's been it's been pretty fast so we hopefully this will probably be as fast as it's been how big are the turbos on 62s okay so it's a 6.2 62 corvette was ah i like that was that on purpose yeah well good luck be fun to see this thing run again yeah good seeing you out here man for sure nice sticker by the way yeah is it on the air suspension yeah is it that's different airbags so on the street that's how i made it ride nice okay oh the [Music] [Applause] ah the corvette i have no idea how fast this car is last time we saw it was nitrous car [Music] [Music] oh that's right lane by like half a car that was the closest race so far wow just based on appearances i was going for the nova maybe it's the orange color i don't know that that corvette rolled off the starting line so hard damn that's a sweet car very unsuspecting [Applause] [Music] supercharged [Music] we're playing by a lot sleeping on the light sleeping on the light i i think the s10 had more power on him it looked like he was pulling but that capri came out of the hole so hard we'll see if he jumped or not i think they're reviewing it good start yep looks like a nitrous 4i mustang and chase's old car streetcar takeover he sold that car a few months ago and here it is in mexico see how she does [Music] [Music] [Music] just lit up the tires damn all right next up [Music] that sucks you only get one burnout so he's done you just gotta try and run as is full tires [Music] well the nova in the right lane was not running right and he pushed through the light as they were staging them and that's a jump so the f body is moving on all right we got us anova here behind us man this this thing looks pretty serious thank you i love the paints on it are those actual rivets they're actually they're real rivets three thousand of them put in the car three thousand rivets yeah three thousand real rivets how long did that take just out of curiosity actually my dad did it and it took him 80 hours to do the whole thing fine line it drill it put them all in okay so there's there's some time on this car just in like the exterior alone but yeah what i'm interested is what's under the hood of this thing uh it's a big block it's a 496. it's low compression got two kits on it one's pretty good it's a heavy car it's all steel all glass full interior cars just a little bit of nitrous to help it get there a little quicker tonight just a little bit yeah absolutely hopefully tonight it'll go down and we'll make some good passes well if it doesn't at [Music] right right lane takes it again that was probably the smoothest straightest pair of races we saw tonight they were just glued to each other too right lane takes it next step is the white box body and the beautiful blue turbo chevelle [Music] [Music] home just based on uh size i was expecting that camaro to pull on him but that chevelle took it home and looked pretty fast doing it listen to how sticky it is out here that's what my shoes look like walking around on that surface it's uh pretty [ __ ] sticky up here hey nice run nothing pulled out of the hole hard yeah that first shot down here that was a good one that core about three unsuspecting trying to be easy and still go faster yeah so it it do you have you have a drag in it yeah what does a 60 foot on it really what's the 60 foot it went 43. really so it's almost three oh it's been 32 so i just didn't get after it we got my little pony here behind us he hit another fox body it's kind of the common theme there's a lot of fox buddies out here but there is we saw you making hits last night and this thing this thing goes pretty straight in it yeah tell me about the setup on this thing um the setup is a it's a frankenstein headed uh it's got f710s um their intake manifold it's a dart ls next pro 2 427 we went to armageddon a couple weeks ago and uh we ended up hurting it on the last pass been a rod um we've never really leaned on the car that hard before but you know what armageddon that's super bullet looking right no prep right there we gotta turn it up for that yeah we we ran it uh made 42-ish pounds and uh from our forced inductions 107 and uh it been a rod we freshened it up uh i got it back in the car running on thursday and then we didn't even have a spot my guy had there was a problem between paypal and whatever so we didn't even have a spot here but i was like you know what we're gonna show up see if we can get in somebody drops out which always happens right here we are we got in we're the last car to get in well heck yeah so hopefully it all pays off so i'm pumped oh hi man good luck to you be safe appreciate it thank you that's not a good sign all right my little pony in the chevy like not bad three o'clock first round done with uh 16 pairs look at all the freaking people we got out here hey look at that moving on the second round yep that looked good it wasn't bad it was a good starting point put a little more into it and hopefully cut a couple tents off hooked up nice going around hooked up very nice you know who you're racing there they're probably wrong we're gonna about oh it started going up oh yeah i just caught it real quick i'm so used to driving my z that like i felt it start to climb and i was like nope it's on radio we better pedal it so i just did a little quick one and sat down and right out the back yeah fastest pass it's made out here really by 10. you sure what times uh no not yet okay i mean that's our fourth hit on the radio ever oh really yeah oh i got divers meeting all right good luck all right drivers are heading up to the drivers meeting we're going gonna find out what pairing looks like for second round we're hanging out here by the border wall federales have not showed back up so they've been nice to us tonight we'll cross our fingers that this continues the next or the rest of the race and we just hang out here for a couple more hours and get it done [Applause] all right well that's one way to do it he locked up the transmission on the first you see this he locked up the transmission on the first round and i guess that's how you get it back it's so light that they just didn't care look at the marks cars are pulling up it's time for second round we have 16 cars and eight races to go for this round [Music] barely made ] at him on that one it was over from the start and another mustang on mustang race [Applause] i'm pretty sure rightlane jumped but even if he didn't he crossed anyway [Music] so [Music] three [Music] i think so yeah i think so too so right lane jumped by a lot left lanes going on [Music] [Music] that chevelle is so sexy let's see if we can make it their second round [Music] you make it past them right lane the chevelle goes on to third round i like that car a lot i don't think he's going to make it through the finals but uh that car's badass looking in that second round where we go back to the pits and hits and draw for third now let's go check in with some drivers especially the camo or air force looking mustang that thing that wheelie on that was just wow so you're the wheelie man huh yep is that the first time doing that on the street on the street yeah yeah you know the track before though uh we've been to wooly bars back in november last year i see you smashed the bumpers up a little bit front and back yeah it's got abusive repair that had been freaking crazy it was awesome kept in it instant too i know i know double wheelie too yep holy crap well thanks for the show oh sorry you didn't make it through second round but you know the internet's gonna remember you oh yeah yeah how much you sprained on that thing that's only 300. we're right out of the hole it looked like well it's on the foot progression and then i roll it out gotcha the minute i rolled out and i hit on it and it just oh okay so he hooked on the top on the motor and then it just pressed away jesus it looks so good it's awesome i was right behind you i was not expecting to see your headlights from behind your car jeez what motors on it it's a 427 ls okay yeah carbureted deal chevy fox body are you running next round i got the black convertible first-gen corvette okay oh yeah yeah that'll be a really good race two unsuspecting quick turbo cars good luck thank you third round's going down my little pony i'm gonna guess he's going on to the fourth round i don't even know who's racing but that's my favorite car to win that thing's just working he's racing another mustang [Music] [Music] lane is the wheelie lane it's official this this road i mean look look at the amount of rubber on here you can hear hear the shoes it's pretty pretty sticky out here you find a piece of oil pan oh is there oil no what that is a big scrape mark right there big props to the camaro driver he did the gnarly wheelie came down about 120 feet out left the oil pan mark in the lane we've walked the left lane and he pulled over about half track here and then the car started leaking almost towards the finish line and he left pretty much all of his oil down there not real happy about the results of what happened i mean he drove drove 20 some hours to get here for this race but he put on a show that car car had a lot of fun during this race and it looked good doing it but uh their car's gonna go on and we're gonna finish up third round right now [Music] next pair up is two of my favorite cars here we got the 62 corvette against the chevelle i don't know who to call on this one [Music] [Music] [Music] damn left lane came around that corvette right at the end [Applause] was that the chevelle you gotta look at the video it's too close i told you that's what matt's looking too matt city's gonna review the footage their camera guys gotta review the footage that was closed matt says left lane was a little ahead hey a little more than a bumper he said hey you pull him on the top end yeah i got him goddamn man good job [Music] oh wow they almost touched on that one holy [ __ ] that flying takes it they're about touched down there i'm gonna go go down there and review the last race okay the one before it and i'll make it fun what about the first race what the jump is i've got to look at video okay cool what a wild third round a wheelie and a smashed oil pan possible jump on the first race and then cars almost touching on this last one and i almost i mean neck and neck race against the vet and the chevelle they're going out to review it matt already looked at it he said they won by a bumper but they've got their own finish line guy and so they they go off their system uh but wow 5 20 end of third round i'm gonna go back and chip draw now so the pits are over here i wanted to get a little closer look over here i don't want to get too close that is the wall mexico us border yeah it's clean you know let him let him do what him let the two hosts do what they're gonna do and they'll make the following choices yeah i got a good video yeah this is the only video i have that's showing me yeah but it doesn't show anything because you can't see the light there's no tire you can see it in the reflection of the car you can see it from the front view the car the front of the car moves before the light even turns on yeah the video maybe bring it it's the video i showed you guys the front of the car is moving but that video if the guy holding the camera is moving also come on man the car is moving how do you know what the call is can we see you can see the reference i understand i understand that but the problem is is how how many frames is this like that's not even the entire crack you can see the white letter never moves you the car is moving you don't even need to see the tire at that point okay put it on the laptop all right where's nate so hey so here we go come here watch the backpack get in here okay come on and again it depends on how many frames it slows down oh i slowed it way down okay the and then the lights off still yeah okay jump and that's the troubles of street racing you don't have a tree to actually show red light or not so it all comes down to videos and luckily we have some pretty good quality video cameras out there shout out to desert 1320 for recording that clip i'm just glad we were able to solve that 16 000 plus dollars on the line there's always going to be some discrepancies when it's not perfect on the streets sun's coming up we're going to draw for fourth round here i think it's semi-finals so we'll have three races left to see who's taking home a ton of money holy crap that was a race it was close how'd that go down it shut off it shut off shut off at 445 oh no you got me by a foot oh holy crap it wasn't even like tired and eight feet before the line i had him still man the car was working did three g's off the launch yeah dang it you guys made a statement though that was sick semifinals cars you've had this car for out semi-finals a week a week not bad okay some luck was involved but who do you draw this around i drew the side bend i believe it is a silver between turbo fox body front so not the teal fox that's good yeah they're all fast though yeah there's no more ducks besides me you have any more power to put in or what's your plan okay yeah just keep turning it up keep turning it up we'll see what it holds but the driver is feeling good in the driver's seat you're is we're just having good out here oh yeah it's good looking semis you got the chevelle next round is that right yep cool turbo fox in the semifinals first round and then second round we have the chevelle and the twin turbo box body going at it and second pair holy crap dude that left lane got him my little pony got treated again but it didn't matter you could tell he got him by a private car or two that was a good race god damn right less than half a point you get treat again wow [Music] [Music] left lane the chevelle's luck runs out you can see the mustang clearly had a lot more power on it man he knew that so we have a box body mustang versus a fox body mustang in the final no shocker there he got you out of the hole but you drove around him i bet that was a fun race yeah i wasn't letting off yeah a little bit nicer man so it's gonna be money train and my little pony in the final all right now that the sun's come up check out this [ __ ] road look at all the rubber on this there's literally rubber probably about 200 feet out i mean there's tire marks all the way down there but there's some pretty solid rubber yep all right now it's sunny out you can see where the racer pits are at and then we have literally the border wall right there there's two layers there's one on each side of the border and then here is the street how freaking cool is that pretty legit and we've been here for six hours with no issues from the federales well you got a lot more racing in than most people here i sure did you gotta feel good about that you figured he was coming around on the top end huh i honestly think he wouldn't we pulled a bunch of timing on the shift knocked the tires off and i think it would have took at that time and right when it did it laid over and that's when he came around me if not i thought i would hold him off damn got him out of the hole yeah nice work what's happening that's it for having a car a week you happy with the car very happy i bet it'll it'll start getting faster yeah yeah needs some more seat time that's awesome that's all good thanks for bringing out probably making some more money tonight man 13 14 grand i'm racing my old car now you have to own that yes no johnny is a really good friend of mine what's the name of that one uh that one the money train yes okay um thank you for using your laptop yeah as it showed the frames that are sure to be showed we've been getting a lot of situations with these races and it's never easy well they don't have a good tire crack cam yeah that's just something they got to work on yeah and when i can see it from the naked eye the car's moving if the car is moving that means the tire crashed yeah so from not even being in the shootout yeah because hey you made it in because cars dropped out we made any of his cars dropped out and then you know we've been there was no motor in the car wednesday i rebuilt the motor on thursday uh serviced the entire car fronts back went through the chassis like sensors like it's nearly freshen up yeah and then here we are we made it so all right on to the final that's it see if you win i think it's like 13 to 14 grand to win that's not a bad payday no it's not so good luck thank you appreciate it my little pony versus money train in the final let's see if my little pony can take home the money i was favoring him to win when i saw him run last night on the test runs a lot of people here call him the west coast beater bomb which makes sense he's uh got that thing figured out battle of the border 16 000 final going down right now my little pony taking it home pulling the shoe holy [ __ ] could you see him hazing the tires all the way down the top end of the track that [ __ ] car is flying wow oh he threw the chute too there it is thank you [Applause] hey man congrats how's it going it made a hit yeah i thought he's in the tires the last half of the road oh my god congratulations to nate thank you for winning the 30 car shootout squeaked on in there yep yep here's your payday all right and then you plus the spectator fees yes and then second place does get 1500. okay that's cool right appreciate you guys thank you guys congratulations yep yeah oh yeah oh you did look at that you did and they're all in or well congrats on the win appreciate it you made it through quite a lot of fast cars 32 cars and they were man there was some hitters yeah we saw you testing last night i was like holy [ __ ] this car is fast yeah yeah you know it's come a long way so i'm proud of it like what we did on a radio for the first time like we had that one pass where we struggled we got a little break when the guy read the jump kind of went back slowed the car back down so it'd go down against brandt and then put a little more in it for for that and if that was the best passing it was i was gonna ask you he went he went 147 miles an hour oh my god yeah 147 in the eighth on the street i mean it's pretty much a track at this point but yeah still there can't take anything away from that to be perfectly honest i think it'd go faster yeah like i think it'd go 150 it was hooked a little big night of racing and going with 13 grand congrats again man thanks man appreciate it but wait there's more we've got a couple great races coming at you a few cars that went out during the race and they want to race some more so let's see what we got got the ls9 box body this thing's really cool going up against the third gen look at them spraying it right in this little little intake the blower sounds on this thing are ridiculous [Music] [Music] uh [Music] it's like right lane to me that blower is crazy yeah oh yeah josh has the z out here i wanted to see this thing run [Music] all right that's pretty cool a little consolation prize even though you get to run on the shootout he had some issues with his boost control still crying from the uh alcohol that burns he had some issues with the boost controller before the race and couldn't make it up here just because it wasn't building any boost so a little wheelie consolation prize [Music] not available [Music] so [Applause] [Music] so [Music] another z wants to put on a show this car was not able to get in the shootout he was the 33rd car on the list and no one dropped out see what this thing can do [Music] hell yeah bringing it down gracefully those z's like to do wheelies that was nice driving right there bringing it down like a feather carrying it through and just flying down the top of the track that was fast [Applause] that was some good driving coming out of that wheelie yeah looks like you've done that before yeah it's it's next pass will be a lot faster you should go race josh yeah you both didn't get a raise thanks bro have you been asking appreciate it you guys got you guys got money on this yeah it's a little dollar yeah 300 bucks bill two more of my favorite cars that went out first round going at it 300 bucks on the line on this race see if the all-wheel drive car could take home on this race or if it's gonna be the nova just heard cops are on the way i think the next shift with the border patrol showed up and didn't like that we were here still so it's about time to get done [Music] didn't quite have enough badass nighter racing here down in mexico
