the neotec 92cc steel clone chainsaw that y'all saw in a video over nine and a half months ago when it was brand new customer brought it back in the shop yesterday and guys we're gonna find out what's wrong with it [Music] yes guys it is the neotec 92cc steel clone chainsaw with a three foot bar that you all saw in a video of mine about nine and a half months ago when this thing was brand new and had issues and I told you do not buy it but the customer that owns it has been using it for nine months straight he said it's been running great since I fixed it and now it's got a problem again let me tell you what's going on but before we get into today's video if you're a fan of saving time money and frustration while fixing your own Small Engine equipment while watching in-depth tutorials you've come to the right place because that's what I do I upload a couple times a week and if that sounds interesting hit that like button smash that subscribe don't forget to hit the notification Bell and please leave a comment I love to read through the comments and I will reply to all the early commenters now a lot of you were not following my channel when this one first came across my bench over nine months ago so I'm gonna give you a little recap on what a crazy repair this thing was when it first came in it was brand new the customer said he tried running it for like 20 seconds and some of the things I found were quite astounding so the customer brings it in and said it is flooding out constantly it was just pouring out the muffler while he was trying to run it and it would never run correctly so I dug into it and the first thing I did when I was making a video on it was break out my HD endoscope so I can look inside this cylinder and see what was going on and to my surprise even though the saw had only run for seconds from what the customer had said I could already see a little bit of up and down scoring and then I saw chunks of what I thought could be a carbon buildup but there was no way because the saw had not run long enough to build up carbon but there was chunks of black stuff all over the top of the piston and when I figured out what that was it was insane but I'll show you that later but still the piston and cylinder looked beautiful on this thing there's no reason that it should cause any kind of flooding so my next thing to do is to break into this carburetor and see what's going on and immediately I saw the issue check it out huh no way I have immediately found what's wrong with it other than the fact that this diaphragm look at that look at how off-center that is I don't know if you can see it really well but this circle right here this should be in the center not cocked off over to the side a little bit well that's great but look at this this is the needle lever and someone put it in upside down there is no movement that whatsoever wow wow somebody on the assembly line wasn't uh doing their job that day so I get everything put back together with a brand new OEM walbro kit I'm pretty confident this carburetor is going to work just fine but I've got to figure out this whole black chunk situation and it didn't take long to figure that one out let's figure it out until I removed the muffler because I did that because I did want to see the inside of the Piston cylinder with that scoring but the um piston and they're actually still looks looks beautiful so that can't be it but I saw this oily black chunky residue and once again for running for 20 seconds and the customer saying that it was just flooding fuel through I was like well what is this black stuff but I figured it out it's the muffler it's brand new paint that was being washed off from the gasoline I guess and the chunks that came off whenever the bolts were put in went back up into the cylinder did that score it I don't know and after I do all of this and I'm ready to put this all back together throw some gas in it and show you how it Roars I find this again let's put some gas in her I went to go put gas in it and there's a hole in the gas cap what the um are you are you serious no away that's the cheapest junk I've ever seen it's got a hole straight through it I can see you so I was stuck I had to finish that video and it was already like 20 minutes long and I know a lot of you do not like long videos so I couldn't show you how it ran and that made a lot of people mad my next video I made sure to show you how this thing runs and I put it up against my steel ms-440 and my echo 590 timberwolf and this is what happened when I tried to run the neotec all right let's try the neotec ns892 yeah great song see how easy that Echo was to start huh excuse me I already had it running so I'm not choking again but let's keep trying so I've got the throttle compressed just a little bit huh well all right this thing gets a few more pulls and I'm about done all right so I guess oh almost foreign [Music] [Music] thank you what the hell well guys as you can see it's still getting a little too much gas and I have the settings on the high and low adjustments at one each because I figured it was probably about the same as the ms660 that thing was a beast to start and you know I start saws every single day in three pulls this thing has issues and then at the end the kill button didn't work and I noticed it didn't feel like it was going up all the way took the air filter cover off pushed it up a smidge further and it killed I know a lot of you in the comment section said you know you have these saws and they're running great I guess this might just be a lemon but so far I'm calling it junk so I had to admit when it does actually start and run it was a pretty big beast I gave it back to the customer and he's been using it for nine and a half months and says he actually really likes the saw it takes care of the job he's been Milling with it he's cut down huge trees with it and until this week he has had zero issues but guess what it is pouring gas through the muffler again so let's see what's going on so first thing I'm going to do is bust out my owl torch tool bit set if you don't have one I put them in all my videos and in the link in the description box below it's t7 through t40 love it and we are going to take this Muffler apart so we can look inside and see what the cylinder looks like and make sure that we're just not working on a burned up machine six [Music] sticky inside this thing still looks beautiful all right x side intake side looks great and the Piston still looks super pretty so that's good so everything looks pretty dry right now and it has been since yesterday since you brought it in I don't know how long it was that it sat for until he brought it to me because since he said it was just flooding out the muffler like crazy usually when people say that the muffler is still full of fuel but I don't see any remnants of that so next thing I'm going to do is check and make sure there's even gas still in it well it just spewed on me a little bit so that's a sign that there's something in it yep he's even using a steel mix that's good so smell test smells good all right so I popped the muffler back on we know that the cylinder is not burned up piston looks good there's no gasoline inside the muffler which would make it not be able to start there's good gas in the fuel tank I know that the spark plug is not flooded out because the cylinder looked good so what's next I've got to try to start it unfortunately all right guys wish me luck is all the way down not gonna put the decompression trigger in just yet until I feel I got to which it might be after the first pull I don't know we'll see here we go foreign 's getting harder and harder the more I pull harder and harder I think it's flooding out as I'm pulling it let's take it inside and see actually I can tell already check it out it's all wet it's coming out the muffler we got issues that thing will make you a bust a sweat so it obviously is Hydra locking the more I pulled it the more and harder it got so I'm going to go ahead and take this cover of the muffler off again that way I can make sure it dries out because it's going to have to be dry before I go to start it again take the spark plug out make sure it's dry that way we're gonna have to get into this carburetor and see what's going on probably so let's dig into it oh yeah is sweat I gotta get this far off because this thing is super hard to move around with a three foot bar hanging out the end hold the front door look what I just I removed the side covers you take the bar and chain off and look at where the chain is it is stuck in between this Rim sprocket and the washer uh that's not good I wonder if that could attribute to it I'm gonna find out I do want to stop and show you though in the last video I was really worried about this air filter it seemed sort of loose while it was mounted on here but it I'm I'm pretty confident now it's kept all the debris out so it passes let's go ahead and get this plug out of here so let me dry it out real quick yeah super flooded oh geyser let's put it something there to catch a little bit of that it's not coming out the front is bad so this thing is super flooded when I look down into the cylinder through the spark plug hole it's like a little Pond of gasoline down there and it's still pouring out the muffler so I'm going to turn it up on its end towards the handle and pull it a few times and see if we can get that out real quick oh [Laughter] it is so flooded I don't know I don't know if the chain could really do this so that's a lot of gasoline so I got it pretty dry inside it is still moist so I'm not going to choke it when I go to start it again and I might even give it some throttle with my foot while I'm doing it popping in a new plug and let's see what she does and I'm leaving the muffler cover off because I don't want any kind of resistance while I'm trying to dry this all out so it's gonna be loud got it turned on let me give it some throttle not doing the decompression trigger [Music] foreign [Music] thank you foreign [Music] okay guys as much as I wanted this to be a easy fix it is not I'm gonna have to get underneath this air filter base and see what's going on with this choke making sure it's not sticking because uh this thing is not wanting to stop flooding just for Giggles I am going to double check and make sure that we have fire that would be the last thing I'd want to do oh you've got tons and tons of fire okay that is not the issue oh we're a little flutty all up in here but let's see what happens when we take the choke off oh god it feels like it's broke it's going on push it the choke wasn't stuck before what's going on now everything's in its place all the way down something's not working I'm letting the chip mother I manually pushed it that's cute oh it can't kill look the kill wire has fallen out of it oh my God let me bring you in so that's the uh end of the kill wire hanging here and it's supposed to be in this little slot that way whenever you come up on that it hits that little prong right there and kills it so even if I would have got it started I would have not been able to kill it so I gotta get that back in there and make sure that this choke system's working maybe I'll leave all this off and try to start it all right so I got a few questions that I need to speak with the owner about first the more gas that starts coming out of this saw the more I'm getting a smell of something weird and I I don't think it's can fuel but I'm not really sure because it smelled like good gas at first but now I'm getting a weird smell and also I want to ask about the kill because obviously he didn't say anything to me before about it but the kill couldn't have been working so I'm gonna give him a holler hey Jerry this is Bree from the lawnmower shop I was working on your chainsaw and I had a question are you busy okay I'm sorry to call so late I'm just making the video on it and I just had a question for you so whenever I opened it up The Kill wire was not attached have you been having to choke it to kill it or how was it killing uh yeah I was having the truck to kill it as a matter of fact okay that's I just wanted to make sure that was something you were aware of also this fuel mixture that you have inside of it is that your mix I don't remember if I asked you or not or is it canned fuel or what is it no uh and let me explain that it is a it's regular fuel mix that I make okay and then I got I got told anyway um in light of the paper locking to put just a few drops of Marvin's Mystery Oil in it okay well it had a weird smell to me and I didn't know what that was so I might yeah definitely dump that and put something else in it to make sure so but whenever I took your bar off the chain was lodged in between your Rim sprocket and your washer so I was hoping that's all it was but so far I haven't been able to get it started because it's so it's like so flooded underneath the Piston I think is flooded so I gotta dry it out and I'm gonna see if it'll start alrighty that's what I needed to know sorry to bother you so late all right talk to you later Jerry bye so I got more of the story The Kill was not working so if you have to choke it to kill it every time would that do something to the diaphragms in the carburetor I don't know we'll find out so this thing was initially so flooded like the entire thing was flooded after I tried to start it that first time that I don't know if it was the choke sticking because it is sticking on me now I'm not putting it back into the position without having to uh push up on the kill prong to let it go back off of Choke so I know that's an issue I do have the kill attached now but I went ahead and I took the fuel line off of the carburetor put a little uh golf tee in it that way I'm not getting any more gas into it as I try to draw it dry it out because whenever I go to pull on it it has an Impulse down here that is letting up more gas come through it's pumping the diaphragm in the carburetor making it pump more gas so I don't want any more gas to come through so I'm going to continue to pull on a little bit more and dry that cylinder out foreign foreign [Music] let's see what in the world is going on here this side looks beautiful still okay screen looks beautiful let's open up the metering diaphragm side thank you hmm that was pooched out a little bit and you know what that's why I wonder if from choking it so much it made this pop out see this this type of metering diaphragm has a little notch in the bottom of this metal bracket right here and that little metal notch sits inside this U and it was not in there when I just pulled that thing off so if this is sitting on top of the needle the whole time it's constantly pushing it down so at some point it either popped out of there or something I mean because you can tell this this thing is pooched out this way something serious probably is going to need another metering diaphragm I bet I don't have one at the moment I am going to try to just put this back in there and see I mean that doesn't come out easy because I can't get it in easy you're just gonna hold it still for a second there it is oh we're in we're in like Flynn all right let's make sure it's stayed in its place after pushing on it oh yeah it's still tight oh I bet that's what it was that is so weird because I'm the one who put the kid in I know you could watch the video the last one you know I put it together right last time and it's been running for nine and a half months so somehow that thing popped out of this little hole and it could have been from choking it with all that pressure I don't know I really have no idea I've never heard of that before but this thing's got a lot of impulse I bet for it to just hop right out of there and suck it out of its spot all right so it's still super flooded but he thinks it's gonna run now I'm getting all this extra gas out Lord this way okay still have a lot of gas in it all right it is almost dark but I gotta get this money shot oh my gosh um I did have a clamp on it on the throttle hold on where did that thing go oh it broke my clamp I did put a clamp on the throttle because my foot wasn't big enough to hold the throttle but uh it is running a little high and I got to put the muffler back on but that thing seriously started first pull that is not me starting it before I did this video that's crazy that is what it was and that's the fixed well guys that is insane I have no idea how the metering diaphragm prong came out of the needle lever but that's what happened and it's just you know a process of elimination to find out what's going on with this all it actually runs great and the customer is extremely happy with it so I might have to backtrack on what I said before about do not buy this chainsaw because after nine and a half months it's still going strong so thanks again guys for tuning in to chicanic hopefully this video saves you time money and frustration in the future if you haven't found me on Facebook find me at facebook.com me Instagram at the realtorganic or find me at chicanic.com or you get your own t-shirts hoodies and longsword shirts thanks guys and have a great
