May 12, 2023 Tokyo Japan Here I'm in front of Tokyo Station and today
we are staying in... Tokyo Station This brick buliding of the station is actually
used as a hotel Today, I was able to book a room at 64,210JPY/449.47USD on Booking.com (Expensive price for me but I've really wanted to try this hotel) And now my dream is about to realize! Talking about Tokyo Station, there are over
4,100 trains and 820,000 passengers come and go per day It goes without saying that it's the largest central station of Japan's train network I'm really honored to be able to stay in such
a station today Welcome to The Tokyo Station Hotel Established in 1915 The hotel is a member of "Small Luxury Hotels of the World" A community for small-yet-luxury
hotels The hotel is also designated as an Important
Cultural Property of Japan The entire hotel is like a museum Well.. it's like I teleported to some western country I've seen thousands of times this kind of
hotel in a hollywood film haha like a dream world Our room is "3015" on 3rd floor The check-out time is.. oh not, it says "Departure Date" Tomorrow 12:00PM As it's a station hotel, they say "departure"
not "check-out" I'm already impressed What's so nice is that we can lock the door Better than a capsule hotel wha I almost passed out now This is too good The room is called "Comfort King" It's a double room The room looks like an american house to me As I turned on the TV, some music started
playing As it's a luxury hotel, there is a mini bar I was about to say these are all for free
but cost money I found a Pringles sour cream😋 These drinks range from 400JPY/2.8USD to 2,000JPY/14USD But water is for free I think there is everything we need in the
room What I like about "double room" is that everything is prepared for 2 persons So if you are a solo, it's all yours👍 The bed is queen-bed sized A heaven what are these No idea When booking the room, you can choose "Dome side"(Station side) or "Palace side"(Square side) I'm a train fan so... Of course, dome side! Wait can I cry We can sleep while seeing people come and
go in the Tokyo Station entrance..? every Japanese train fan's dream Only-here experience The windows are very large but not stand out
that much from the ground floor As no one looks up while walking in the station What I first noticed is that the hotel is
very very long from one side to the other And, the inside of the building is made like
a maze I opened Google Maps many times during the
stay haha Even elevator is confusing with 2 doors The hotel consists of 6 floors incluing 2
basement floors It was way more spacious than it looked There are 5 restaurants, 2 bars and 2 cafes
inside the hotel The restaurants range from 10,000JPY/70USD to
30,000JPY/210USD (They have Japanese, Chinese, French and Italian restaunrants) But the cafe in lobby lounge seems not that expensive Just walking the hotel is fun This balcony is exclusive to hotel guests
so this is a rare shot Anyone curious where I filmed Tokyo Station at the start of the video? I was up there This white building used to be Tokyo Central Post Office but now turned into a department store, KITTE Marunouchi You can freely go up to the rooftop terrace that I was on Brief history lesson of Tokyo Station The station dates back to 1914, one year before
the opening of this hotel In 1945, the station was partly destroyed
due to a bomb attack (WW2) In 1947, the station gave up on a full recovery
which resulted in losing its 3rd floor But 60 years later(in 2007), the station embarked on
its first restoration work In 2012, the station finally got back its
original appearance Have you ever wondered why Tokyo Station has a western looking? It's rumored that Tokyo Station was taken
after Amsterdam Central Station in the Netherlands There was actually a plan to build the station
in traditional Japanese style But the designer in charge (Tatsuno Kingo, 'Father of Japanese Architecture') adopted western architecture for catching up with
the West At that time, they thought that Japan was
lagging behind the West in many things Tokyo Station is a good example of Japan westernization "To Europe via Siberia with one ticket" Tokyo Osaka Nagasaki Pusan(South Korea) China, Mongolia, Russia, Poland, Berlin(Germany) to "Paris(France)" in "16" days What a dream train.... I opted for room service meals as it sounded
more fun Yes, they are expensive but not too expensive The most expensive one is probably this "Evian France 750ml(Water)" 2,300JPY/16.1USD To me, water is water Forgot to check the wifi Let's try again The wifi speed looks the same as a standard hotel or worse You can order a room service on your smartphone But if you prefer a phone call, of course
it is available A staff delivered meals on a table "Wagyu Hamburg Steak with Steamed Vegetables"
(4,000JPY/28USD) "Mozzarella Cheese, Tomato, and Olive" (1,600JPY/11.2USD) Oh a drink Simply, coke Enjoy ASMR This is demi-glace sauce which everyone loves The hamburg steak uses wagyu beef (Japanese tender beef) My comment is that it was "very delicious" I mean "very delicious" Tokyo Station in the dark gets even more beautiful There are two entrances to the station, South
Entrance(right-side) and North Entrance(left-side) My room is in the left-side entrance Let's go explore this Tokyo Station more You can enter the gate with an admission ticket
which is 150JPY/1.0USD But of course, you can't get on a train Inside the station, you can do a lot of shoppings But the most popular shopping is buying confectionaries There are so many options of confectionery from all around Japan But today, I'm buying ones which you can get only in Tokyo Station You can also enjoy various kinds of cuisine inside the station Ramen, udon, soba, sushi and many more It's past 9:00PM but the station seems still
in the middle of rush hours But I came here for... Yes, Sunrise Express As many people probably know, this is sleeper
train which leaves Tokyo Station every day The train travels 953.6km/ 592.5mi for 12
hours to Izumo Have a wonderful time everyone This makes me want to ride on this train again
soon Haha many people waved a hand back to me Heartwarming In Tokyo Station, you can't also miss Shinkansen(high-speed rail) trains Haha they are like kissing The history of the Shinkansen started in 1964 with Tokaido Shinkansen line (World's first
high-speed rail) Tokaido Shinkansen is still the busiest high-speed rail line in Japan connecting Tokyo and Osaka Approximately 165 million people use the line in one year (452,000 people per day) "NEW TOKAIDO LINE" "Product of the wisdom and effort of the Japanese people" What's surprising is that they constructed this 515km/320mi high-speed rails only in 5 years and a few months On the platform, there is a relief of the man known as the creator of the Shinkansen, Shinji Sogo (He was the president of Japan National Railway) The construction of the high-speed rail was
initially said to be more expensive than expected and that opening would be delayed further However, he took the lead and managed to open
the Tokaido Shinkansen in time for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics He must have thought that the opening of a new high-speed rail and the hosting of the Tokyo Olympics had to be done together to show its rapid post-war recovery One more thing about Tokyo Station is that
2 prime ministers were assassinated in the station Both assassination scenes are marked in the
station for them not to be forgotten One is Prime Minister Hamaguchi I Google Translated it for you He was shot right in that marked location The other assassination (Prime Minister Hara) occurred near the ticket office I hope these translations help you understand Tokyo Station has a lot of things to see if you try to explore it By the way, here is the lobby of the hotel All I can say is that it's luxury Let's go take a bath around here Ghost! Oh what a clever toilet The toilet offers a lot of functions and in English In-room massage available I think the price is reasonable considering a luxury hotel But I don't need a massage Just taking a bath is good enough for me What I found nice is that the space makes the good echo sounds Luxury I'm drinking drip coffee (free of charge) So let's enjoy the confectionaries I bought at Tokyo Station This is a popular sweet bun called, "Tokyo Renga Pan", which is sold only in Tokyo Station (320JPY/2.2USD) The inside has ample cream and sweet bean paste(anko) Okay, this is a must-buy The next one I've got is "Toraya's Yokan" Toraya is the long-established Japanese sweet maker since 16th century in Kyoto Here in Tokyo Station, you can get their Yokan sweet in the exclusive package of Tokyo Station Yokan is a sweet bar of gelled azuki bean paste My all-time most favorite Japanese sweet It's addicting We need music Hmm, this is not the right music This is much better😊 Some movie director said that 80% of the atmosphere is created by music 1:30AM Got no one You know, I can't go to sleep haha Sleeping seems like a waste of time in this hotel Morning Breakfast♪ Breakfast♪ It's a buffet style Here on the TV, we can know the level of crowdedness in the breakfast restaurant Now "Full" We go up to 4th floor The breakfast fee is 5,500JPY/38.5USD This hotel's breakfast ranked in TripAdvisor's "Top 20 Popular Hotel Breakfasts for Japanese" in 2021 I don't know about their this year's rank but must be so good whatever Mouthwatering Many dishes come in a small plate so they are kept tidy Feels like 60% are western meals and 40% are Japanese or else So many options to choose from Want to grab everything here Juices are freshly squeezed in the hotel Is it just me that I always get this many in every hotel breakfast Just seeing these makes me satisfied Japanese-style omelet which is fluffy I loved it Wagyu beef mapo tofu (Chinese dish) This was amazing Wagyu beef curry I like that they use wagyu beef in several dishes I'm a shrimp lover Egg and bacon-on toast The egg is half-boiled and it was so good If you order, they will bring you a fresh iron-pot rice It took 7 mins but they made it from scratch for me 2nd round I also had to try Japanese dishes I took some side dishes for the rice Tofu Miso soup and more Of course, we can't forget sweets The sweet corner also has so many options 😋 What I loved the most is this fresh orange juice The best orange juice that I have ever drunk Sorry that I didn't introduce every dish but they were of course very delicious Was worth over the price Sad to say but it's around time to check out I'm definitely the one who enjoyed this hotel and Tokyo Station the most from yesterday's evening to today's morning haha Thank you Tokyo Station for the rare experience to me a train fan And thank you Tokyo Station for showing its beautiful history Let's lastly walk to the Imperial Palace It's only a short walk from Tokyo Station But it started raining I'm always a rain bringer You can freely walk in the gardens of the palace Of course, there is a baggage inspection by the police But a police man didn't see all the pockets of my bag.. (I asked but he said "It's okay") I don't think it's okay Imperial Palace is the residence of Japan's Imperial Family It is said that the palace's grounds are two times the size of Tokyo Disneyland You can walk for free in most areas of the palace The large park-like area shows a lot of beautiful natures in the busy city of Tokyo Hard to believe this is inside Tokyo like Central Park in NewYork Thank you for watching If you enjoyed the adventure, please leave a like and comment! Rock, Scissors, Paper 1 2 3 "Scissors" Hope you will have a good luck out there 😊 I'll see you in the next video!
