Given my Europa getting started guide had end due to re-arranging priorities figured to start a new guide this time for Mars as it is the planet most new players will start on initially.

My plan is to make this a series 15-20 min tops with clear focus on progression. Let me know your thoughts and suggestions.

I will post the full series links in this comment, so i do not spam ;-)

hello and welcome to the stationeers mars getting started guide yes this is a second in line of my planetary getting started guide and mars is a different beast than europa here we have temperatures going from -70 to plus 20 we have a good solar energy and we have a very low atmosphere however it's co2 based which means it will be fun and different challenge than the europa by the way if you haven't checked out yet my europa getting started guide do give it a look and hopefully you will like it as much as this one i'm super excited to be starting off a new getting started guide especially for mars mars is one of my favorite planets and as you can tell i did take a jet pack up just a little bit to observe and trying to understand where we are and just to give you a sneak preview of what exactly we will be building here today check it out while i sort out the equipment yes this what you're seeing now is a little bit of what we will be building today this kind of base like a panic shelter which will also dump down as the hydroponics later plus you know arc furnace and outer lace for crafting and solar panel for energy all right so as you can see now i've gone to the lander and i'm picking up the stuff that i need basically iron frames iron sheets iron walls uh you know auto lathe arc furnace power coupler so these are basically all the stuff that we need to be get us started so first i will be building the base and the base people usually tend to say go three by three i have a different philosophy i'm gonna go multiple by three and i'm thinking probably five by three or something like that so uh the reason being because a three by three i want to save four as i said the panic room slash hydroponics so let's see how five will buy three will fare all right this is three by three four by three and then five by three i think six by three will be even better there we go all right so that gives us a quite a nice base both indoors and outdoors which will be important so now let's switch to the iron sheets and i will be welding those up with my trusty welder so when it comes to priorities in terms of you know getting started on mars your first priority should be of course base then energy then probably panic room to avoid storms and then probably hydroponics and everything else and as you can tell i'm starting to directly work on the panic room hydroponics so i've created the frames and i will be welding them yes also note that this is going to be a somewhat edited episode where i'm actually cutting out the boring and repetitive parts do let me know what you think about it in the comments below i think it we don't really need to be seeing everything so you know just for the duration but if you would prefer nice you know chill that it goes let me know what you think in the comments your opinion is really important to me all right now we are walling up pretty much everything so this one's i'm walling up two times because i need this area to be airtight this is the base for our future room there we go now we're gonna go with iron walls and we will be walling this section around so there we go i prefer usually building with steel walls but we are given iron walls might put them to good use anyway and i'm actually creating windows because the pressures are not all that great when it comes to mars the atmospheric pressure is really low and this area is going to be pressurized up to i don't know 50 kpa or not more so i think that should be enough for um to be holding the way with the windows so and it will give us a nice you know sunlit area for the hydroponics and who knows what else now that thing being connected i'm trying to see if i can actually i'm actually gonna remove this one because it's actually taking a lot of weight a lot of sunlight away so i'm gonna be placing the window up top as well because yeah it will keep this airlock nice and lit during the sunlight area we should not forget that you know everything expands energy so yeah all right so iron window good enough now i need another iron sheet and i'll need a lot of iron sheets to hold this up so i'm not gonna do that just yet now i want to sort out the power production or basically solar panel because it's not going to be more advanced than that and that will be a basic solar panel the flat one and after that we will be putting you know the power controller and the battery and then we will be setting up our crafting bench because we need the ability to smelt the oars and autolays to be able to produce more iron more iron sheets and frames eventually but the sheets are gonna be the scarcest resource for the time being all right that being said let us just quickly and as i can tell now the sun is coming down so i just want to go for a brief mining episode to be able to gather some iron ore so before the sun goes down on the first day you do want ideally to gather some iron ore possibly even a copper if possible and maybe a little bit of coal and i've been just fortunate enough that look just beside my lander i had a small iron node and there is copper and coal node ideally if you could get gold that would be just marvelous because then you could go and build electronics printer but gold is usually a little bit scarcer resource so it's not that easy to find okay what is this silicone okay well i can take some silicone as well there we go beautiful also taking some copper and coal okay now that you don't need to take a lot because you're just starting out but and i think this will sustain us for some time to come okay returning to our base there we go now what we want to be setting up the production line so arc furnace and autolate however so that they could work we need a power controller so area power control i'm thinking of putting it straight here smack in the middle with the input coming from the right hand side and proceeding down to the left yes i think this is correct alignment and we need to hook it up and then we need to hook up both the arc furnace and the outer lathe to it and obviously we need to crowbar to open it and then put in the put in the battery yes oh battery right that was the one thing that i forgot to take from the lander well then it's convenient that lander is just beside me so now where is that big battery usually you come with one big battery oh there it is okay perfect there we go we plug it in and then we need to hook up with the cable coil cable straight there we go i'm gonna think i'm gonna turn it to the right and then down so it's nicely aligned there we go and that should basically for the time being keep this little battery recharged it's nothing fancy nothing really you know complicated it's just a very very simple setup that will for now provide hopefully enough power okay that being said i do want to be setting up the door here there we go and then the other side because i really want to see if the door will be in the way of this cable coil because that was one thing that was kind of bothering me a little bit i wanted to check it basically all right so there we go and now he will here we will be building more but i'm thinking maybe i should expand the grid by two frames behind i think it will give us more headroom and the oars or ingots when they fall down they won't be falling down below on the dirt so i'm actually i'm gonna expand a little bit and even on that side there we go so we just need to weld this up there we go all nicely welded up now let's put in the arc furnace i think like this will be fine and then we'll put an autolade there we go right nice smack in the middle and we need to connect it with cable coil there we go i'm actually thinking of immediately going with junctions so later on when we need data ports we don't need to hook those up like this yes one there goes the second perfect there goes the third and now let's hook them up straight straight straight straight and straight perfect okay arc furnace actually maybe i should just move it one step closer let's see how that looks well that looks better except now i cannot get to the master switch for the power controller oh no it's right up there isn't it okay we'll fix it we place it one step back and it's still pretty feasible all right let's just hook up the cable coil there we go and now we should be building the outer lathe yes for building outlay i think we need four or two sheets let's try it yeah two sheets now we need four cable coil there we go and now we need plastic sheets there we go and now we need just a screwdriver to really screw it up oh sorry sorry connect it yes why does that always come wrong okay so now the crafting corner is complete and we should be able to start smelting some iron and some copper and chugging out the iron sheets which we will need to wall up the the rest of the panic room so without further ado let's put in the iron hit it you cannot the as device is not powered well i forgot the flip on the on switch genius there we go so now it's currently smelting and while it's doing so i'm actually trying to find a locker because a locker is super handy because we can have it on the other side of the door where we could be gathering ores and just dump the oars there so when we're ready we don't need to keep them in our mining belt and whatnot especially i mean the non-smeltable ones all right yes i also wanted to pick up the battery charger and i wanted to well technically i don't need any of this stuff yet so let's put our locker here there we go and we just dump some of the oars there here we're gonna put the charger so it's easier to charge our batteries and then smelt yes so we already have the iron which will help us to produce more iron sheets and then we are doing the copper because of cable coil obviously we do have some coal which can be used for you know smelting steel or the backup power generator that we're gonna build probably in the next episode and we have a little bit of silicone for insulation and whatnot all right expanding the base a little bit so that later on we can actually build an electronics printer okay so let's now assemble the door okay so with these walled up and some copper done we can now start making i mean not that we needed copper but we can still start making the iron sheets there we go and let them chug and once they're done we will be able to go and wall everything up on the panic room i don't want to waste time so i'm just going to put all of my things to smelt this is not just nicely chugging iron sheets there we go i think that's enough iron sheets for the time being we're gonna move just this silicone and we're gonna shove it in the outer lathe just in case we need it and now let's go and wall up the room shall we okay for the door i need plastic sheets okay for these guys oh no i think for this guys i do not need the yes i do not need at all the hand drill or yeah drilling machine all right okay so now let's connect the door or actually build up the door there we go and we need glass sheets and a crowbar to construct but first i think we can actually construct the windows so let's just control construct all the windows that we can for this guy so that everything is nice and walled up my my what a beautiful sunrise a couple of more wall pieces and this section will be getting a life of its own there we go and that's it i believe beautiful all right well i actually think that uh once we actually finish up the door i think that's enough for this episode as always do let me know what you guys are thinking yes look at it looks kind of nice doesn't it well i'll guess that will be for today thank you very much for watching like if you like and i'll see you in the next one
