STARFIELD - Transfer Saves from GAMEPASS to STEAM

if you've been playing Starfield on the PC via the Microsoft store perhaps through Game Pass you may be thinking of purchasing the game and you've heard it's better to purchase it on Steam because the steam version will be more compatible with mods and this is in fact the case it it's true and from the looks of things it's only going to get more true over time so the next obvious question is can you transfer your saves from The Game Pass version to steam and by default no you can't they use very different save formats and I'm guessing this is probably down to the fact that the Game Pass version is cross-platform you can actually switch between Xbox and PC and play the same save and so the save structure's got to be the same on the two of those but for whatever reason it is a very different save structure to the one on Steam luckily somebody or somebody's have made a simple program that will convert the saves for you and it's dead easy to use the program can be downloaded from GitHub I will leave a link down below and you're just going to go along to the latest release and download the executable by clicking on it your browser May throw a security warning I'm currently using Microsoft Edge because I've not really installed much on this system yet and to deal with this I'm going to go to these three dots for more actions and I'm going to select keep show more and then keep anyway I've checked this file I ran it on a closed system and I didn't see anything that worried me and I've heard no reports of uh problems so it looks like it's pretty safe scan it with your virus checker anyway just to make sure then you just need to run the program double click it you'll probably get another Windows security warning open up more info and run anyways just because it doesn't recognize the publisher I'm going to run anyway and believe it or not you don't even need to know where the saves are found on the Xbox version which trust me is a bit of a relief because it's not easy to find them took me a while and once it's finished it will just create a zip file and if you open the zip file it's converted all the saves these are all the saves just Ctrl a to select all and then right click and copy or control C and all you need to do now is go along to your documents folder go to my games find star field and go into saves and paste them here I've already done it but you just need to paste them here and that's it it is that easy now obviously there is an element of buyer beware here I can't guarantee I didn't make the program so I can't guarantee this is going to work perfectly for you what I will say is I loaded up several saves and everything was in order and I loaded up my last save and I played for several hours and I've not noticed anything it's pretty much like I have not changed systems the only difference now is I'm running it from Steam and that's it basically there's nothing else to say so if you want to transfer from Game Pass to Starfield you don't have to abandon your current playthrough this is Where We Belong [Music] [Music] [Music]
