hey guys what's up Mobby here and I've been asked multiple times to make a tutorial on how to unstop mods for Star bround so here we go please note that the version I'm currently using is angry koala and mod installation may change in the near future I'm going to show you how to install two mods today and explain how they work in single as well as multiplayer first off I will recommend two great places to browse and download mods these sites are nexusmods.com and the official star round forums the mods that we're going to install today are argon race which adds a new playable race and fully customizable ship which yes you guessed it gives you full control over what your personal spaceship will look like most of the mods are installed basically the same way which is simply dropping it in a particular folder but as a precaution you should always check the mod author's page for Specific Instructions simply download both mods from their Pages make sure to download simple extended characters as well as it's needed for adding any new races in in the game find out where youve downloaded them and extract them from their files if you are unsure how to windzip a file there are many programs out there but I recommend winr it's free and easy to use next we're going to go to my computer your C drive program files steam steam apps common Starbound you should see the folder mods as it's there by default if it's not there just simply create a new folder and name it appropriately now you simply want to copy the three mod folders and you basically done let's go find out if it worked when installing new mods you most likely have to create a new character to see any differences at all here we see the new Argonian race let's select them start the [Music] game wa my ship is all wood this is a sign that the model was installed correctly and look we're able to break the walls of our ship let me show you guys how my mod ship currently looks in my let's play pretty cool right now about the multiplayer details most mods add new things to the game so if either you or someone else creates and or joins a server it's highly recommended that everyone install the same mods of the current version to prevent any crashes as they will occur there are some mods however like the fully customizable ship and alter vanilla blocks these mods can be viewed by other players and they don't necessarily have to have them installed if you're unsure once again simply check the mod author's page as a use have a Q&A section well that's it for this basic tutorial mod if you guys want I can make an advanced tutorial mod which involves combining Mods together to make them compatible updating your current mods transfering characters over and stuff like that just let me know in the comments and I'll get right on it once again I'm Obby and thank you so much for watching please subscribe for future videos and hey if you're into Starbound Let's Plays I highly recommend you check out my playthroughs lots of multiplayer Shenanigans is this is that this is a uh it's a volcanic plant
