Stalker (The Long Dark) - Part 3: On the Hunt

come on can't feel my feet [Music] hello fellow Cirus and welcome back to the stalker main series where we are still in Desolation point we had a little break during the holidays we are back but of course if you're watching this on the playlist you maybe didn't even notice but anyway here we are but the major thing has happened since the last episode and that is that we got a Content patch we are now in DLC or Tales from Far territory part four buried Echoes which added a lot of different things we're not going to go through all of them right now but the gist of it is this first let me equip a weapon what's that you say mittens on my weapons mittens on my hands yeah so they added that detail to the game so you can now see hand coverings and arm coverings that's great they also added a bunch of other stuff most notably they added the TR or sled and you can now carry a bunch of stuff on this thing and this actually would have been handy in the early episodes to carry the bear and the Moose back to base so that I wish I had that earlier it does require four Maple saplings though and we actually might this episode go and check for Maple saplings because uh the Developers did add more Maple saplings to the game presumably to account for that you need to need them to make this and then as uh third thing which is worth mentioning and that is notice how this item says moderate of vitamin C and that's because the game now has scurvy if you don't eat enough vitamin C you'll get scurvy it takes a while to kick in though quite a long time so I don't know if we'll actually see it and if so it's going to happen at some distant point in the future it's a bit like cabin fever but longer so it's not it's going to take a while before we actually get it we'll be eating a lot of Cal vitamin C stuff anyway and fish has a lot of vitamin C so maybe it will pay this run maybe it won't and if you're wondering yes I have it in existing run those of you who are Keen observers will notice that they shouldn't actually have this because the developers made it so that old saves before the content patch does not have scurvy because they were worried that people had used all the vitamin C in the game other than the renewable ones so they decided that old save games should not have scary and vitamin C but as you notice this one does and that's because I used a mod to change the save file to turn scurvy on because otherwise it' be a bit boring might as to start again right so this save now has scurvy so the first two episodes no scurvy this episode and onwards scurvy and that's it and we have quite a few things to do we need to get wood we need to cook more meat we need to make arrows because we don't really have any uh oh the bait's gone just over that uh but we do need to make some of those and we need to craft some stuff and the bear should respawn soon I killed the bear on day was quite early maybe in a couple days it'll respawn but there's two things I want to go and do and I want to check the region one more time for Maple saplings Dr almost anything about now to see if anything has been added to get more Maple and there's a they added the firest to the game rather the um the insulated flask and there is one or there should be one here in the riken we're going to go look for that so that's what we're going to do today let's uh head out shall we looks like we got a sunny day that's nice uh would cook this but we don't have that much wood we'll pass on that we do have quite a bit of meat though but uh it's all Predator meat do I have affliction risk no we can eat one of these though I also need to make more water don't I yeah we'll do that though uh once I get more wood let's get wood first right so let's do a little Walky surround we'll check the riken soon but let's just go over here first see if there's any Maple around that wasn't there before for I think these crows are the car the wolf carcasses I killed before what's not mapped there nearly all of it Maps these all the wolf carcasses uh let's actually check beach combing quickly because um I don't think there's been a blizzard since I last checked but um there has been a content patch so they may have reset this anyway let's just have a look I can see there's a pallet over here anything else doesn't really look like it no maybe some more feathers here maybe they also changed how harvesting works by the way uh so now there's harvesting animations so for example if I I might as well grab this just show you uh now looks like this Neo and actually now it the way it works is that um you can't use your hands for harvesting anymore unless you first make an incision the carpass has to be cut open before you can use your hands before you could always use your hands provided that the uh carcass wasn't uh Frozen uh unless you were a high enough carcass uh leveler high enough carcus skill then you can do it uh even if it's Frozen with your hands uh that doesn't work anymore now you actually have to make an incision it's okay to just make one incision Harvest one thing with um with like uh a knife or hacks or whatever and then you can use your hands but you got to basically ravage the carcass you got to make it ravage first so you need a tool now or a wolf can can do it I'm going to check over here to see if there's any more Maple here now I might also grab these rabbits I don't think there's many wolves around so I have fire Harden arrows no oh also yeah this looks different they change the animation for this thing so that means that by the way in early game it's a little bit harder to get rabbits and tans because um you actually need a tool now to start harvesting them unless a wolf kills them that makes it a little bit more complicated it's actually warm here so I should maybe get some wood take advantage we do need wood for water and cooking so do it let's grab this rabbit a I missed okay let's grab this wow definitely missed that one where' he go where is he here he is this is kind of running around around because it's uh actually not cold I might cut down this uh this limb here let's grab this guy what I hit him right in the face yeah well he's the one who got away let's grab some of these and no bear back so we're going to actually har this use the hatchet why not I'm still not cold this gives a lot of wood rabbit W I'm not on form today at all and missing everything sometimes that's just how it goes and that's the way the news goes any more rocks around I'm not going to use my arrows to kill this guy this time going to do properly still warmish I might grab some more wood some of the coal may respawned also but not a lot there we are I'm not too worry about smelling because I killed all the Wolves pretty much not too worry about that okay I should have this up anyway just in case so let's get some wood so we're ready for the next fire uh we could light the fire now but I think we'll just do it tomorrow let's go rain risk that's fine still not cold so we can get even more this is the benefit of playing stalker and getting pretty decent early game here which one do I have here they are red Now red gloves uh yeah it's not not cold on stalker let's get some more wood there's probably more of them up here branches I can do if I need to but I need to find a place to rest yeah we'll sleep we don't worry we'll sleep Torch from when I was earlier there's all the birs all really want a maple if there is any Maple that is uh wind's coming from that direction so I can probably stand on here and I can hatch Hatchet it I can hatch it it like this getting a lot of wood from this that's fantastic so we can cook more make more water and everything any more limbs up here I don't think so so we might as well grab these I think I might need to make water is the only thing I think I shouldn't have drunk all that water but I could also could also be dehydrated doesn't really matter let's see here uh I think we I'm more or less done that's quite a lot of woods oh there's two more there okay let's get those two no wol suround so we'll grab some wood and then we're ready for tomorrow ready for tomorrow lots of cooking to be done or lots of uh wood for the fire now let's have it out keep using this grab this too normally I don't really go for the limbs because um normally I play on interloper hi birck I'm not sure I can carry much more normally I play on intop and then it's usually not warm enough for you to be out and grab limbs like that sometimes it is in the late afternoon in the early game or um or late game if you have enough clothing so sometimes it can be done usually up so um yeah talk is different it's a bit warmer so we can definitely do it I think we have enough now I think that's enough let's see lots of wood uh let's go and sleep I should have saved that water for later but I just forgot all about it we do have so much health though I might just sleep through it I'd rather not use a match well I do have a lot of matches how many matches are there there's only one of these I could stay up the night and cook and everything but I'd rather not if I'm honest okay let's eat a another one of these and I think we actually just going to sleep through and be dehydrated I don't really care cuz we we'll get that back we'll sleep and we'll take a condition hit of like I don't know 35% or something I can actually see going to leave 12 hours also cuz I want to be fully rested so normally don't do this but I'm going to save the match know if the hypothermia Let's uh have what's left at the water and I would wager we are now at 98% when we wake up will be at 60% maybe 65 85 must be different on stalker hardly took any damage at all okay we got wood let's see if we can do some more cooking what level are we actually of uh here we got the fishing tackles up it looks like it's sunny day again so I think we can uh light the fire although we don't have magalin yeah we do have magalin yeah let's go let's make several fires let's make water I feel like there should be more water around did I place water somewhere and I just forgot about it okay I'm just going to have a quick look at inside in case I'm an idiot and there's like a bunch of water here I don't think it's the case no I didn't think so but still uh okay let's make a fire out here this time and we'll cook we need water or we need to cook this meat cook the fish also to have nonpredator meat not too worried about parasites they are a bit of a bum to deal with but it's only 10 days and in those 10 days you can to eat bare meat so yeah that's that all right uh let's do like this this can be our water and then we'll make another one here and then I'll start cooking some bare meat we might look around a little bit while things cook as well come on we'll level up some cooking probably doing this too oh wait I have moose meat don't I so forget I knew I I knew that it's been a little while since I played this but I do remember what happened but it's just when you have left it for like a month or so there's little details you just forget you know happens come on come on come on there you go so let's just yeah turned out pretty well so moose meat and I need something to drink I just hadn't cooked no so I don't have moose meat all right okay let's start another fire using a MAG Lance also takes longer than the match uh I guess cuz it's harder so it does take a little while uh I do like that didn't work uh when you when you have fire starting level three you no longer need Tinder which makes Fire Starting bit easier they uh last longer and all that stuff but I really like having fire starting level five also cuz when you get fire starting level five you start fires twice as fast and also you are almost guaranteed to succeed pretty much every time did more or less so I do like having that as well we got a lot of wood here so I'm just going to keep this up and then we can explore a bit after or during we'd have to synchronize it though I think four fires is enough we can always go over to the riken and see if we can find a thermos and then come back there we go that's done that's done that's D age done okay so we got here 30 so let's try and get these same roughly so now 31 40 is on R 53 so let's just do like this three there yeah now they're the same it's almost boiled 58 minutes and hour 15 I think we're just going to do 58 minutes quite a long time so I think we can take these make some more water we can drop this to make it a bit lighter we do need some more Tinder actually this takes now an hour before that's ready I think in that hour have a little look around see where else I can find Maple or Fus wise an hour is not that long it's about 5 minutes real time there 53 minutes so it's slightly less maybe 4 minutes so let's just check over here and let's check the riken and then we can go back and then we can check somewhere else doesn't seem to there something in the distance there something in the distance Maple would be good there's a dare over there uh I would kill the there actually but we don't need to do it right now okay looks like we got Birch par and I think those a sticks are they fish they might be fish actually all right is fish yeah we can take those there food and it's vitamin C as well salmon stick and [Applause] Birch uh I would grab the uh the fishing tackle thing but um I that takes well to break the ice so I think we'll pass on that I will be honest I do miss the old animation of this thing I don't really like it pointing forward like that uh I I liked it the way it was on the side wish you could turn that uh back all right so I'll check this later we can also take the fish back cuz we're not that heavy really fine wonder if I can drop any of this ge drop this oh wait still carrying this guy around the carcass forgot all about it all let's just check in here there should be a ferace in here let's just see if we can find it and then we'll head back and it should be all cooked uh I think we might need this think can be many different places in here so let's see uh i' I've looted this right I've opened this before yes but it can be over here on this side I don't think it's here though it can be behind here I think and then I don't know or remember all of them but it's around here somewhere let's see there it is Found You The insulated flask in all its glorious purple glorious purpose purple very nice okay we're going to take that we here very cool and then we can head back already done it now so if you don't know how this works the insulated fermers insulated FL the reason it's not called fermers is because a copyright it is a Fus everyone calls it a fmus but the reason we don't say it's a fmus is just because um that's a copyright thing it's kind of like saying uh um you know if you buy a car instead of saying it's a car you say it's a Toyota or whatever or Mercedes but that's a brand uh there it's the same the FAS is a brand so the actual description is the insulated flask but you know we just called it Fus anyway what that does is it stores drinks you can put eight drinks in the fers um and setad of your inventory it doesn't really change anything weightwise but what it's for is to keep things hot but the way it works now in the game is that if you uh heat up a tea it will stay hot for about about an hour I think it's be less than an hour and then it gets cold however if you put it in the Fus it will stay hot for I think it's 3 hours so it's three times as long which means that you can stay warm for longer you can travel further and drink hot teas for example and that's pretty useful especially on interloper and especially on long distances in the open like full mus or the far territory and that sort of thing uh it's very useful in those situations you can only put one thing at a time though you can't mix and match and if you put in uh one hot drink and one cold drink it will heat up the cold drink but they will half the time it stay Sal so it's very very useful it's a good it's a good thing and I'm definitely going to be always carrying one of these around always there's I think seven of them or eight of them they're all different colors this is a purple one the only one that's very special is the jack rabbit one okay 9 minutes okay we just going to wait until that's done and we'll take all of these eat one and there and then we will put on more water and then we'll put on some more food as well and keep it so we got the furnace that's great there we are and we got some stuff to do here too we got some fish to cook so let's just put the fish not going to be able to kill for much longer fish and fish and fish and we need to harvest this rabbit 4 minutes but I need to make an incision so I can't use my hands doesn't come up with an option but once I make the incision I can we're going to use the knife the hands are really mostly for the hide because using your hands to get the hide is the same as using your knife see now I can use it uh we can get this the only thing about the animation the animations are pretty cool you know a little bit gory but not so bad it's mostly happens off camera but they are a little bit wobbly so if you do it for a long enough time um it can be a little bit dizzying which is a shame because a lot of uh a lot of people do small harvesting let's put the fur on one two three yeah okay let's also harvest the hide use our hands this time oh it blew out that's a shame this pack is getting kind of heav how far do we get okay here got really windy all right well we got some um moous meat which we can I'm going to eat one of them I think and let's stack the rest of them stack in here got quite a few which is great the rabbits we can use for either uh pies or something we'll see okay and we got some water not nearly as why do I have that oh yeah that was from earlier um not nearly as much as I would like and water but that's okay it is what it is uh bait I don't care about that right now we need to put that stuff into cure need to do a little bit of inventory management here still early day so we can still go out and everything we're going to look for some more Maple here let's put the uh rabbit here these are killed these are being cured so let's put that there and because this happened I might have to go kill that there might as well uh let's see we got books and we got clothing and things load of clothing um yeah we got all the other stuff right arrow heads we do need to make arrows so let's do that I think they're probably cured now this as well all these peaches and stuff too okay let's see uh we can't make that many arrows actually we can make uh six so we can actually put most of these back there yeah let's put a we don't need this many I guess put some of this back and and now I think we're looking pretty good we repair some of this stuff eventually right for now yeah I think we'll do that uh oh tools if we use tools uh Arrow crafting is faster this is fast this is fastest I'm going to do that oh yeah we can make what it six I said so one two of those we going to go to this workbench over here uh there it is and I'll make some of these Arrow shaft six of those then we got some arrows we can use those to hunt the there you also level up archery by making arrows which is neat hey parasites got healed RK rather so we're going to level up a little bit of archery by this making this uh I think we can make all them before it gets too dark yeah we're fine so now we have Seven Arrows very nice we are not that tired um it's a little bit a little bit tired and the car battery of course wondering if I should break something down or wood before we wait and then sleep I think I might do that let's just break some stuff down so these crates if you can't do stuff at night with tools but you can use your hands we're going to do that it's going to just to kill some time get a bit more tired I think that's enough we can cook more we don't really need to cook that much more the main issue is water cuz we don't have a cooking pot or a skillet that's the main thing if if we had that it would be easier cuz we can make a lot more water stands now I can only make one liter at a time uh I could make more by using multiple uh fires though of course but there we are Let's uh let's sleep till morning till it's light which will be probably eight hours but we'll put nine we can see what the weather's like what's the weather like okay yeah it's morning perfect then we can actually see very nice uh let's head outside this is not cured yet a this is cured ah we can craft some stuff then before we do let's check and see if the Bears respawned cold but eh it's all right let's eat one bare meat we don't have a [Music] um uh not sure what I was going to say now I lose to this one I think so where's is the bear up is he out and about let's just check quickly the walles shouldn't out they all they should all be dead at least for a couple more days they they do respawn pretty quickly like 3 days or so can't see any bear but he should respawn relatively soon okay I might go and kill the deer just to have more uh Venice and stuff like I survived another night I also want to see if this Maple over there is the maple over by this island didn't used to be but maybe there is now and not too bother about these fishing traps it doesn't really matter keep an eye for the bear as well now we have S arrows that means we can do lots more hunting if I get more feathers I can do even more hunting uh so we are good hunting wise in this region and actually we're going to I think we're just going to keep staying here until I feel like we've done everything or we are just eh we we're good good to go there the de let's try a Hail Mary this usually doesn't work but pretty far I think we have to aim about there yeah okay let's not do that again so waste our arrows cuz you have so little control the way to do this because we don't have AR level five so we can't Crouch and shoot so the best way to do this is to get close while crouching and then you shoot them in the face as you stand up let's see here where's he going okay you can do this I'm tapping Crouch so this is like tap crouching they don't they don't see me when you crouch you have a lower detection range I would like to be in front of him rather than the side but it might work okay and then stand up and shoot I missed okay that's right as much easier on the front on the side you have to get exactly right on the head on the front this be easier where did my arrow land all the way up there so it's a bit too high wasn't so bad though missing in the snow doesn't matter much let's see can't feel my hands where are you Mr there should be right underneath here he be here I think there he is yeah could shoot him from here he probably won't see me oh let's see what happens after this animation when is he done with this turn around no ah there not on really not in good form today I am missing a lot usually I try and take little chances and then after I miss a lot I'm like okay let's do it properly let's just see there's Maple here oh yeah I forgot there's bunnies there is maple but nothing more than usual to think let's grab these uh these feathers here this is looted right we're going to go get the deer I think no M more Maple here uh in zone of contamination there's a bunch of maple there's at least two places in the zone of contamination where there's like five Maple in one place so you can get a bunch of maple there all right where's this de gone let's do this properly now okay grab you as well he's going to come back and then need to be facing me so from here it should be easy going to come back now over the hill hello bunny nothing to see here when you is patient then it's pretty easy but when you're impatient then you miss all right Mr Mr Buck Let's uh stop goofing around here so the best way to do is to be in front of him because then it's very hard to miss you might have missed the head but you hit the there for sure let's see where you going to go okay of course you that way let's see if I can get in front of him makes it a lot easier with you outra level five was pretty easy just Crouch up to him and shoot him in the face could shoot him in the face with a revolver too but well where you going to go which way you going okay not so bad so just try and get in front of him when he stops and then when you stand up you got to aim slightly under the head oh come on on Wow spooked him you got to aim slightly under the head oh hello because um when you stand the aim will go upwards so do you on the side is fine but you in the front is even easier as you can see the best of us miss all the time not saying I'm the best of us I'm just saying we all miss I miss all the time especially when I'm not being patient do this you going to learn how to hunt which just watch one of my other episodes where these things actually go well that was not one of them uh where' the other one go probably bounced somewhere I think I shot it in the shoulder or something so uh it'll probably die somewhere else on the ice it could run up of course but I don't think it's going to do that I actually checked Matt's truck it's not mapped I must have must have checked it right yeah of course there scrap metal here oh then the Rope too yeah I checked her where map let's see should come up there we are right where's the deer that's the Moose carcass that's something might be up here is that you is that wolf these are wolves where's my deer ah we got blood here my detective skills infers that the day went this way or it came from this way uh looks like it went this way by the trucks there somewhere over here I might have to drop some gear n that's all right we're just going to look for Crows now there's some crows here probably over here then here we are found you and you for you get away I only needed like a billion hits I think I might make fire hair is cold Min is 10 yeah I think I'll do that we use our match oh was this guy uh what's this sorry I'm an idiot this is what we're going to do play too much on my main run lately when I'm so high fire starting that you can just use the match but even then you're not guaranteed you got to light the torch with the match not the other way around for exactly this reason I you can put a see the wood on who cares going to uh cook a while anyway let's see might Harvest that thing that's like a tiny torch let's um make some water while we oh but I had two of them oh they must be back there yeah okay so let's put on these as well let's Harvest a kilo of this oh let's do three kilos now we'll do two kilos it's barely warming up but that doesn't matter we're warming up that's what that's what matters too heavy hey level three how nice grab that make some more water Le RAB the carcasses too I'm just going to carry them there's no wolves around at the moment anyway uh what we could do though let's see um we need some sticks sorry Tinder let's just make some I like having at least six Tinder think that's good enough all right 18 minutes it's Ed a knife and it's 18 yeah okay spoil dry 10 minutes 10 minutes is another kilo see what I mean with animations are very cool but when you got to do it again and again with like 1 kilo at a time H it can get a little bit much still though it's all right drop this uh let's put that on here actually and then 7 minutes and let's grab the hide this time there we go something's got to go bring this I'm going to keep making water because I need water so 17 minutes let's just keep going then we'll use our tools it just it's faster I haven't seen any more Maple so far uh I don't think there's a lot of maple added to the game I haven't seen many directly myself but I know that other people have seen oh you know there's Maple here and I know that there was Maple there before because I was there not long ago or whatever I know they've added Maple but I don't think there's a lot of it uh yeah let's do that hacka just looks using that on this thing us used to be my go-to thing but now it just it feels weird to use it cuz the animations now I it's going to keep going keep going we'll get all of this very often I leave the last path that isn't like a full kilo just for the fun of it but uh because we're not cooking level five I think we'll use all it oh blizzard am I actually in cover I am in cover how about that okay let's keep going then there our hands for this one all right a lot of gear cooked boiled just keep going I mean at the moment we're in [Music] shelter uh there's the knife cancel I only I only get both guts oh that means more Beach coming okay we got that done water yeah heavy huh okay that heavy really we can drop these howest this oh I'm still carrying my tools oops H we're good though we need to harvest these too 14 minutes let's Harvest this then seems like a normal day in The Long Dark how is this seems so impractical to use a hacko on such a small animal makes way more sense on like bears and moose when I think about it oh well it is what it is how long has this got 44 and N uh let's just do this it's going to turn soon probably grab the hide with our hands this time [Music] yeah there we go going to blow out did cook it though how heavy are we we're pretty heavy we can eat um this though and we're going to have a drink it's not really worth checking for Maple up there how many more feathers have I got okay I can make more arrows we're going against the blizzard also I think so it's going to be a bit slow yep it's going to be another walking one walking with sack I'm not sure we gone down this way before I might sleep in the riken just cuz then I won't be as heavy in the morning and it'll be bit faster as well might do that yeah let's head to the riken [Music] then so how was your day all right let's get to this the bear should respawn soon the Moose though it could respawn fairly soon since we killed it early it could respawn I think in like 10 days or I think maybe 20 days I'm not sure exactly but uh we'll see if we waited that long I think I probably will St is that really is that intended seems like a really easy way to make markers uh I probably will stay here until I've uh crafted everything and um I will also kill the second bear but then I'll head out my head feel thick and I'll probably go straight to Ash Canyon when I get the technical backpack yeah I think we just stay here just cuz it's a bit closer we don't really need to go all the way to the purnia not really uh we can harvest the rest of the rabbits in here though and we can sleep here yeah okay let's just har the rest of the rabbits we can do it by hand because I already cut them with an incision so we can just use our hands for the rest of this and we're indors anyway and we need to kill time and need to get tired so let's use our hands for this something's making me feel same with this let's just grab this it's going to take an hour doesn't matter that last grip where it's like puts a hand in there rough all right then we going to sleep here uh is there anything else I can craft or fiddle with while we wait uh was that it I think that's probably it uh I can repair if I want this maybe I should do that let's do that I do need some more cloth that way we got a lot of clothing back in the base I guess I guess that's it uh let's make one more Tinder especially because I tend to use a lot of fires uh back in the hiberia so let's just a couple more of these I could make this but I think I'll save it for cooking okay I think that's probably it so let's drop these things and then sleep we'll just use the sleeping bag why not there we are let's eat uh sure let's eat some D meat and let's have some FR water and then we'll head sleep I we'll put 12 hours I think I actually 11 that's excuse me all right okay and thirsty yeah okay so we got everything there uh let's drink some water it's morning but barely morning but still Havey been ni Serv before how's it looking outside it sounds like the weather's really bad yeah I think I'll wait a little bit before we keep going not too long though just uh let me there's anything else I can do I don't think there is while we wait um no I don't think so we can get some scrap we can break down this crate why not there you go got some wood is that a blizzard again yeah it is I'm just going to [Music] go let's head back to Iberia drop some stuff off I do need to cook more but at this point I have enough that I can kind of cook whenever look at that it's kind of like a landmark now I that's intentional but I can really see the the fishing trap from miles away and I put it outside the I burnia so kind of hard to miss now that's an interesting exploit for navigating in blizzards just put them in strategic places and you can see from a mile away I don't know if that's like a texture bug or whatever that is but it's helpful now I have pretty much all of my settings on Max it's a couple of exceptions but uh yeah I don't know I think it's a little bit more this way though yeah there we are isn't that convenient huh oh ever tried going up this way but I don't think boots and and pants okay what do we need the most boots or pants two and a half and two oh we need pants because we only have jeans so in that case we're going to make the pants we need four four guts 1 2 3 4 we're going to drop our uncured one here and I guess that's it for now we don't need the tools anymore put down there uh oh let's Harvest this torch cuz I'm carrying it around for no reason how my carrying around this so heavy I'm carrying way too much stuff I think is this no Uh Wood I guess yeah oh let's go make these pants their skin pants let's go 12 and 1 half hours that's going to take a little while if I run out of sewing kits which I don't think I will I can just make fishing tackles this blizzard ends we can check the beach and we can see if the bear is back uh I don't really care too much about dehydration right now because we're full health uh so I'll just dehydrate myself I think I want to lose well F though so let's just be careful with that okay that broke eat this uh don't fishing t I don't have a fishing tackle oh okay what I did guess not I might have more sewing kits actually but I'm still going to make that three hooks why not I think I used all the fishing uh lines for um for the fishing traps let to see I might have a fish sewing kit they are faster so uh not here here no all right well uh guts then on make two two of them always find a little bit annoying it's not a big deal but I always find annoying you make two lines with the guts and three of the hooks so they don't add up so you kind of have to mix and match those and then we can make uh uh where where's it gone yeah oh yeah it's a weird thing if you go on the workbench you can't find it but if you go on Crafting then you find it it's weird because it doesn't require workbench but it's really silly though I mean doesn't what difference does it make if you're at the workbench or not right it should come up regardless but for for some reason it just doesn't okay I don't think we can make too much more of this but we'll just go as far as we canless we get an aurora or something there we are so we got two and a half hours left okay another blizzard or might be the same blizzard maybe uh let's go and check this out going to sleep uh as far as we can at least eat that oh I was meant to eat the bare meat there oh well doesn't matter and let's sleep uh I think we sleep 9 hours but put 10 I always put higher than I think it's necessary okay and it is marginally not more morning which is good enough for me so we'll go down here plunk go here and pass time until the sun is something I go in here grab some things not crates but like all bed rolls and things uh could grab the shelves too for wood but we don't really need it not really take that for wood uh then there's some old bed rolls there we are need to repair pillows sure but let's do the old bed rolls another one here get six wait did it stop I did all right so 35 exactly we can do some more Beach coming again seeing as that happen uh how is my wood situation yeah s right let's drop the book here uh and I'm carrying cloth yeah let's put the cloth away do some repairs later I wouldn't mind getting the wolf coat made also although with the there coat I probably make the bedroom I don't know we'll see uh what am I doing cloth yeah which which one has the cloth this one yeah put everything but one yeah let's eat a bare meat and let's have a no we will not have a drink we'll save the water okay I smell a little bit fish we don't need let's put that here uh I guess I could leave this so I don't smell as much was that moose me was it yeah now we can go back to the bear we can Harvest it for a little while could quarter it but we'll run into the same issue I wish we had am I doing this mistake again yeah this tree is blocking me if from actually doing this annoying um I wish I had the sled now it would be really handy so I missing uh oh yeah the beach coming we're missing uh a maple there might be a maple up by the church maybe but I don't know I think we're going to have to go in the Coastal Highway for that and in fact when I leave this area I'll probably take the maple with me just to make that bit easier to make the sled so what have we got Beach coming wise today then huh what washed up this time that guy who drank his own pee doesn't seem so crazy right now got wood I'll take that more fish I might leave the fish no those are not fish oh my God climbing socks from Beach coming that's insane that's the best socks in the game they're really really really good they're the best socks you can get that is phenomenal wow and then we got looks like spray cans I guess I guess we can take them for like collecting these even though I don't really use them but and we got sticks and looks like Cattail I guess that was a good find and a beach coming you can get so much good stuff especially on low difficulties an inop but not so much you can survive on inop by Beach coming only especially if you don't do it from day one but uh yeah uh there is one wolf roaming about but not too worried about him I told you that bear would respawn it usually is about 10 days days if you I think it's if you kill them before day 20 or is it before day 10 I can't remember exactly it only takes like 10 days to respawn I think he generally speaking every bear and moose you kill before day 10 is just uh it goes really well he Frozen can I make a fire with the magins yeah I can how much wood do I have though not a lot uh but I suppose I could make a fire while I do this and just make some water and that sort of thing while we harvest the bear we don't need the warmth though it's just the looking really oh come on come on and then we'll see um we'll definitely stay here long enough to craft the wolf coat and then will we stay long enough to craft the bear bed roll I I don't know about that uh maybe long enough to see if the movies responds but I don't know we were nearing the end of this region okay there we go very nice let's put that for water and I only have one unfortunately I might actually eat this uh let's let's actually heat it up first cuz then we um we get the cooking skill for that water oh now we can have a drink because we're going to get more water so that's fine uh let's uh house a little bit of this it's frozen so this is better one kilo only for now I shouldn't have drank all that water actually because this also gives hydration there we are uh how long for that 19 minutes let's make a herbal tea two kilos let's go so he the Hackle feels a bit more like it makes sense not so much on the rabbit 2 minutes and then we'll take this put that to cook uh where's the Wolfie let just drop this and make some more water while we're at it and then we'll put this on too and we have some sticks we can go a little while where's Wolfie I guess he's on holiday Let's uh we don't really need guts we'll grab him if we need to but I don't think we really need them uh because we have quite a lot of them ready okay 4 minutes let's do that then 42 minutes put more sticks on there 42 minutes s right in that case uh what's fastest now that's slightly faster do 5 kilos then I repaired with a wetstone when I have a chance kind of interesting just just St run and just stay here in Desolation point isn't it it's kind of fun that's cooked put that there it's boiled just keeps doing this for a little bit behind now 15 and this needs this is like 40 minutes isn't it like 38 4 kilos these all give parasites risk but for one thing you level a lot of cooking by cooking so much meat and the other thing is that [Music] um you get so much food in your base I think that's probably the last of it for now anyway how long was sorry was it 40 40 through a kind of a history back in the day that is to say like 5 years ago 6 years ago the way it used to work was like the wolf would always disengage if you dropped the decoy like I did there like a piece of meat they would always disengage uh agroing you and then they will go for it and you can just put it in front of you and drop a meat and shoot them in the face then they changed it they removed that option and the deos didn't really do anything I many times I even tried to give stuff to wolves on purpose and it just didn't work they they removed it for some reason or they changed it to the point where it basically did nothing but then now they added it back uh not sure exactly when they added it back but they did and now it works kind of similar Like the Wolf if it's close to you it will still go for you which makes sense but if it's far enough away we'll go for the decoy so actually does something now so there's that uh do I want to cook and use this fire yes yes I do we're going to cook a bit into the night in that case so let's uh start a new fire here with our torch and keep cooking for a little bit at least and there I have so much bare meat I don't care about using a kilo of bare meat to get rid of a wolf I mean I I had to get rid of the the oldfashioned way anyway but who cares okay Fire Starting level two that on there using the torch now it's faster than the M glance come on come on come on there we go turned out pretty well and this one too maybe just Three Fires this time rather than four come on there we go and the torch is history and we need to grab another torch so we have one torch in our inventory grab one from think I need to lay that terrible torch but doesn't matter okay so how are they 55 53 yeah now they're the same so we got 1 hour 11 it's almost done make some more water am I carrying anything else I don't think so well fire Harden arrows I want to make that yes then I have four four of them is fine for now I think yeah six minutes try make some more of it uh 29 minutes okay let's put on this let's so 29 okay let's uh sharpen something sharpen this for example we do it twice maybe yeah do twice and then it's done and I think we'll cook one more and then that's it take take take take place place and uh place and place yeah oh seem I placed things different places but did I use all my sticks seems like I did okay well this pretty much covers it that's all my wood need to get a stick that's right uh and then we can do I think we better the hatchet rather than the knife okay and then I think this is while it's ready 5 minutes yeah grab that grab that more water more water back to repairing uh this levels up like the sharpening skill as well and the more you level up the more you sharpen so at the moment it's 3% maybe it's four h it's it's four now eventually it changes to five the other one's the repair skills there are two kind of like minor skills in this game you can Le uh we can leave all this stuff we can grab another Torch from both of these this one too and then what we can do is we can Harvest actually no this these can stay here cuz we already have two grab that too and then what we do we Harvest that for the sticks and then we have sticks as well so we can make a fire how this one we going have two torches and there we go and then we got some more moose meat uh let's Place some of that here how are we doing parasites we got one right four okay 4% chance how many do I have now on me a lot okay we don't want the line two of them uh we just need one for the moment and one of these and we got a lot of water now very nice uh I might actually Place some water here oops there is where my all my food is I might as well just stay here all e this very good very very good and I think that's it right yes we have some spray cans we don't need let's go and sleep spray cans in here we'll take some of the stuff out later to organize a bit there we are and I guess that's it of the inventory three yeah going repair a couple things so let's take like four of those out I guess that's it okay let's go [Music] sleep we're not going to sleep 12 hours because we don't really need to but let's wave it so I'm going to repair also cuz some of the stuff is low do this one is fantastic can't believe we found that beach K takes an hour and 12 minutes to repair well and then we got is that worth I'm not sure about that but this is 52% so repair that's for sure and is that it I guess so for now I guess yeah that's probably fine and let's put some of this back in here and also this extra oh wait that's not go here it goes here here die if I don't drink something soon let's eat the be meat and let's have a drink and then how are we looking with these are they cured ah almost we we make that next time then I guess uh let's see that is pretty good we still have a bit more bear to collect maybe we should just do that quickly oh it's a nice sunny day but we don't really have wood that's the issue we used all of our wood uh we don't smell so we should be fine I'm going to get the rest of this meat we have so much meat now wol where are you there you are I knew I heard it's Predator some of it's pray but yeah looking very good we have loads of supplies I wish we had one more Maple though for the Trava oh well I know everything let's see here okay we got a bunch of air meat which we're going to put here all of this we'll cook this later there we go foodwise we have nothing so let's grab one of these one of these maybe uh these are raw right and I got parasite risk okay so let's grab two of these then and I guess that's it uh yeah I guess so okay and we can sleep as well uh the guts need to go here mostly cured and there we go how about that I think we could just sleep I guess there isn't really anything else to do not really yeah l a little bit of time so we can wake up when it's light this pass time for like I don't know maybe 3 hours go from there something like that there yeah and now I think we'll sleep uh let's eat um Mo meat I think have a drink and sleep for I think it's probably 10 hours oh [Music] Aurora and there we are very nice now it's morning and I think this is oh nice are these killed now ah o so let's uh we could get some more wood cuz we still need we still have meat to cook so this still is something we need to do get rid of arrows we did that already we crafted their pant already and we killed the bear again as well so very very nice how's uh this looking actually we're not leaving until this is done going to take coat next time and then when the mide is cured I want to craft the moid satchel and then after that I think we're probably done here for now we could stay here but I think next episode we'll stay here as well and after that I think we'll probably leave especially because I would like to get more Maple make the uh sled so I think that's probably going to be what happens we'll see though might change
