Spring Fashion Trends for 2022 (Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Glamour & More)

short shear bringing sexy back bridal fashion y2k making its way back in a big way today we're going to be talking about the spring trends for 2022. what have those huge fashion houses been telling us about what is forecast to come through the high street well i took a deep dive into five major fashion watchdogs we are looking at harper's bazaar mary claire vogue who what where and glamour and what i did for us was cross-examine their lists of spring trends for 2022 and see where they match up and where they definitely diverge fashion this year has most certainly been a mixed bag people who are making the designs are wondering what society will really want on the other side of this pandemic and if you think that kogud killed fashion trends you might be a little bit right but there are certainly some huge trends that are coming through for 2022 that we absolutely cannot ignore my name is amanda walden and i recently did a fashion trends video for 2022 for the entire year and oh my goodness i was blown away with the response but i did get some feedback that maybe some people wanted me to slow it down a little bit now covering an entire year of fashion is definitely a huge burden to take so this time we're gonna go season by season and today we're gonna jump into spring so let's jump into our very first trend and that is bridal fashion i got a ring on my finger but 2023 is going to be my year however 2022 is forecast to have the most weddings since 1984. it's forecast that there will be approximately 2.5 million weddings this year and that means that bridal fashion is definitely going to be in the forefront if you did watch my last video you know that i'm a complete data nerd check this out so this is from the wedding report inc and it's 2021 covet 19 wedding market update so you can see a huge spike in 2022 and in 2023 harper's bazaar made it very clear don't worry if you don't have a ring on that finger because whether you are walking down the wedding aisle or the grocery aisle all white all cream those crisp classics have been seen in many different areas from mcqueen to louis vuitton to givenchy there have been so many inclinations that all white is going to be trending this year mary claire also had in their article this all-white theme and it was a lot in terms of these gowns or even a blazer suiting look which we will definitely get to later in this video vogue is also supporting this argument of all white and crisp and clean by saying so fresh and so clean in their headlining title and these are a couple of the outfits that i pulled from their article i highly recommend if you're gonna look at any of these go to the vogue one i've linked it down below and just scroll through in your own kind of timeline so you can really get a look at these outfits because the runways that were captured in this article truly do show art in motion and that is fashion low-key luxury was also mentioned in who what where and all of these looks go for that monochromatic feel and three out of the four of them in their headlining title were in white or cream also within the who what where article there was another note that fancy white frocks will be in and this is one of my favorite things to have in a wardrobe so i try not to put my opinion in here too much but i am absolutely thrilled glamour made the specific note that all white but all white suiting is also going to be very on trend and suiting as a whole is going to be seen a ton in 2022 fashion okay so let's talk about bride specifically just a quick note if you guys do want me to do bridal trends for 2022 i think i'm gonna dive in and do that because i think that would just be really fun and specific but i also took a look at the air dem website because i have been just been spooning over their gowns for so long and i found it very interesting that even on their landing page they just had a white feature so already these big brands are pulling in that idea of a very white classic crisp look and they're actually making edits for their audience to shop i hope this one comes as no surprise columns of color i love the way that was phrased in the who what where article because it's so true whether you're reading about this in who at where vogue harper's bizarre or across any other publication bright colors are 100 going to be a huge trend for 2022 so break them out from the back of the closet color me free is one of the things that they were talking about in vogue but specifically across every single runway we've been seeing these really strong citrus colors fuchsias and even if you are a fan of the devil wears prada yes cerulean blue is most certainly coming back for this season as well not just blue it's not turquoise it's not lapis it's actually cerulean glamour specifically pointed out that highlighter yellow was coming back which i mean if it's for you go for it but if you're not super into bright color you might be into this next trend to make your moment drama and movement as we talked about in the last video a lot of people have been describing the next kind of move into this year as another version of the roaring 20s and this is what we're really seeing in fashion as well whether it be sequins metallic material which has also been claimed to be a little bit more environmentally friendly so if you are someone who wants to participate in the trend but you want to be extremely conscious that could be a way to go and even things like huge spikes coming off of outfits this carolina herrera dress absolutely stole my heart it is so so gorgeous and on many of these runways they had a lot of people swooning at the knees just the way the movement goes and even the way that the approach to the runway was done some models walking down the runway for chanel were seen twirling and actually smiling in these moments and i think that just goes to show that fashion is maybe trying to not take itself too seriously and adding much more movement like sequins and feathers and metallics it just makes the idea of art in motion a lot more fun glamour specifically was talking about those liquid metal fabrics and you can also see pleated skirts here which we'll mention a little bit later in the video one thing that i found really interesting was accessorized legs mentioned in glamour but nowhere else but we have definitely been seeing this in tights having branding all over them lately again kind of a little bit more of a look at me moment like power puff balls and very ultra feminine shapes patterns and accessories so i mentioned this slightly at the beginning but suiting is going to be huge this year however there is one thing to keep in mind the suiting might not necessarily be what you think of when you're thinking about maybe a classic banana republic suit you're thinking more things like big pants big oversized blazers really well done tailoring you're also thinking about crop tops and the way that sensuality is moving its way in through all of these trends i feel like we are really having a sexual awakening when it comes to fashion and you will 100 see that again in the next couple trends suiting this year is going to have a very interesting kind of twist on it and it's going to be that big blazer energy and more of that pleated skirt or liquid dress kind of feel you can also find within the suiting realm shorts shorts are also something that is definitely making a comeback and we'll talk about other ways to dress your bottom in a moment but that tailoring described in vogue as that boy meets girl and just really trying to mix pieces specifically tailoring that is well done to your body shape is something that's highly encouraged in 2022 and you can also incorporate some of the other trends that were mentioned like altazura having a berry kind of flavored soothing option and many of these other fashion houses choosing to go a little bit outside the box when it comes to their suits i also think this is kind of one of those areas where a lot of the brands aren't 100 sure about the next steps they want to take because you're talking about cropped smoking jackets and an oversized fit blazers where there's really a long spectrum that you could go within just the suiting realm crop tops butterflies grecian draping low rise pants body chains and skinny completely useless scarves that's right y2k is making its way back onto the scene i got to mention it in the year as a whole 2022 video but 100 you're gonna start seeing this a lot more on the high street in through spring the tick tock generation is taking over and i'm definitely i would put money down that you're gonna start to see some of these trends seep into style tik tok very soon i love this on the blue marine catwalk y2k styles were described as the following military fairies sexy butterfly girls or low-waisted mermaids also this is one of my absolute favorite quotes from all of these articles for as tom ford quoting diana vreeland strictly put in his show notes i know it's a lot but is it enough and i think that pretty much will describe all of fashion for 2022. and in the past seasons we have had an influx of grandpa sweaters you know those oversized kind of slouchy fit pieces well that worked during quarantine but now that we are making our way outside it's very much peeling its way back to cropped cardigans and a little bit tighter fitting dainty sweaters now let's get to one of the biggest trends for 2022. now hot vac summer 2021 a lot of people threw their insecurities into the wind and started redefining their own body positivity and that meant dressing a little bit more sexy this meant that designers were getting a new way to interpret sexuality within their own designs it's many pieces inspired by a new wave of sexuality so underwear bra tops as outerwear that will definitely continue into this year and you're also seeing other things like cutouts straps being very big on the runway strappy tops and multiple straps on one top the midriff is very much going to be seen as well i know we talked about that in the last video but sheer fabrics are also something that is going to be absolutely huge huawei where was also talking about bikinis kind of becoming a new form of clothing that you can layer and all things sexy was also mentioned so let's talk about one of those pieces specifically the mini skirt micromania specifically coined by vogue and mew mew on the runway also mentioned many times shows this ultra tiny skirt and maybe you're not going to necessarily take your shearing scissors to all of your skirts just yet but there is absolutely no question of a doubt that hemlines are going to be coming up we saw this from the likes of missoni lavin hermes and emporio armani and many many more one thing that i do want to point out specifically is it was so refreshing to see an indigenous model on the chanel runway wearing this beautiful cohort set and the miniskirt to match the trend i also got asked by this lovely woman carolyn jones asking about if i thought that pleated skirts were going to be in the summer now if the mini isn't totally your trend the maxi as well as the pleated skirt are most certainly coming back a pleated skirt is paired so nicely with suiting as mentioned before and the movement also goes with the drama and the movement trend from before as well so as you can see from this a lot of these trends kind of move together as for the maxi skirts bohemian is going to be another big trend this year and those big bold patterns that really just sort of create a lot of interest in an outfit will also be seen as for accessories for the spring specifically we were talking earlier about long cylindrical bags well the micro bag is most certainly kind of making its way out of the trend scene for now don't throw them out just maybe put them to the back of your closet because big bags and branded bags are going to be at the forefront and when we're talking about big in acting bulk and adding interest it's not just clogs that are getting on the main scene when it comes to platforms no boots and heels are also going to be absolutely huge in terms of platforms and if that's not your scene don't worry because sneakers will also be taking on that form who aware said it best when they said platforms for all so let's talk about outliers now cat suits a huge trend for 2022 but wasn't mentioned on a lot of the springboard specifically so maybe we'll be seeing this more in terms of the summer and the fall fashion trends however this was a huge conversation for the year as a whole and has been definitely seen in new york fashion week as for the rest of the outliers we're talking about varsity gear black and white specifically caroline herrera has this one insane dress that's black and white striped and the motorcycle diaries the model off duty trend is most certainly coming back acne studios and meumu were more in the 90s mood taking a more slim fit approach lapel free maybe whereas balenciaga and prada came more oversized with their fit and multiple zippers and alexander mcqueen simon rocha and richard quinn their leather featured mixed with denim and sharp lapels and also came with feminine puff shoulders so again it just goes to show that these trends are so fun for finding inspiration and maybe even restyling things we haven't for a while in our own wardrobe but they are definitely not gospel a couple of other things that were mentioned in mary claire they were talking about crochet coming back and gingham but neither of those things really seemed groundbreaking for me i would have expected them almost to say floral for spring and then i would have been thinking this well they're showing a lot of florals right now so i was thinking for spring groundbreaking one that i thought was pretty interesting was vogue was talking about between the lines so basically a striped outfit also with fringe it's almost like a line or a cut within the line kind of interesting right school uniforms apparently are also coming back people just desperately want to go back to school hopefully this trends video wasn't too close to the one before they definitely do smash up against each other just because they are so close in talking about the year as a whole and spring on the way but i'm really interested to see what happens after this fashion month specifically in what's coming up for summer 2022 and then the next couple quarters fall and winter but i can definitely save myself from talking about that just yet i'm just so excited for spring if you can tell with that being said i can't wait to do some videos on styling these trends myself and which
