hey guys I'm gonna welcome back to my channel today I'm going to be filming a video that I've been wanting to do forever this is probably my favorite sub-genre of romance and I talk about a long time and I feel like you guys always either want to know more about different books I've read in this sub-genre stuff like that so this video is going to be a sports romance recommendation video I have so excited to share it with you guys this video I'm trying to do romances that are not popular so I'm not gonna have Marianas popped in here I'm not gonna have Elle Kennedy just because I feel like those sports romances are what everyone knows and I want to kind of give you guys books that not a lot of people know and I'm really really excited to share it so the first book I only own on Kindle but I'm hoping to own soon it's a standalone a sports romance and this is by far probably my favorite sports romance to ever exist I love this book so much and that is the rivalry by Nikki Sloan this book is just phenomenal it is so good it is basically about the university of michigan and ohio state buckeyes rivalry between each other so she is I forgot who's who but I think she is a high o state cheerleader and he is a University of Michigan football player I think that's what it is so she ends up going to a bar in Ohio in Ohio and I think it's a Michigan bar and he's there visiting and they kind of have an attraction towards each other and she's kind of like oh he's cute blah blah blah and all of a sudden she goes into his car and finds out well he's on the opposite team I don't like him anymore and she is so invested in this rivalry like her whole family is Ohio State and she absolutely hates everything University of Michigan whereas he doesn't really care but fans start to see him as crazy for wanting to date someone of the opposite rivalry team this book honestly was so good it was steady it was great as a sports romance it was great as a standalone and it just gave me so many like feelings and I just love this book so much definitely go check it out if you are really interested in a football sports romance or a sports romance that no one talks about just because I feel like this book is not that popular trying to find the next book for you guys but while I do that the next book I have for you is fraternize by Rachel Van Dyke in this book is part of the series I believe but it can be read as stand-alones so this I like because this has a lot of different tropes in it we have a curvy plus-sized main character and then we have a sports romance trope as well as a love triangle kind of it's kind of a love triangle but like not really if we're being serious but this book is so greedy I absolutely love it and she is just feisty and I love that and one of the rules is no fraternizing with the pliers so of course she is one of the NFL cheerleaders and then there's a whole big no-no with that I'm not sure what exactly happened but I think one of them is someone she loved from her childhood and then the other one is like a newer face to her so it's kind of like an old love versus a new love and I just really would love this this book made me laugh out loud and I do think I cried the first time around that I read it so it's definitely a good one definitely go check it out if this is something you are interested in then this one okay so this one is an oldie but it's marketed as a why a but I consider it a new adult more of the aged so the girl in this book is 17 and the guy in this book is 19 and that is what life throws at you by Julie cross this book is phenomenal I definitely need to do a reread of this soon and I actually may bring this to college with me if I don't get to it but this is about a girl whose father is the Kansas City Royals I don't know if he's their head coach or one of the side coaches like a pitching coach something like that she has grown up with baseball she knows it like the back of her hand and her dad now that she's in high school towards the end of her year they moved to a new place he's making her its head an all-girls school so that's interesting and Brodie in this book is the male character he is a I think he's one of the rookies I'm not sure if he's a pitcher or not but he is one of the rookies for the Kansas City Royals and he kind of sees her and they meet without knowing at first that she's coach's daughter so it's a whole bunch it's a romance like that but I really love this and I really liked how emotional and in touch this book was this is also a standalone this one's a baseball romance and it's so good like this book is just just really good the next one is also kind of an oldie it's like 2013 I think this came out and I love this I feel like not a lot of people know this book or if they do they read it so long ago but this is like I feel like this is the type of book that is so common the plotline but it's just really good and that is hashtag marry by camera Hebert this is the first book in the hashtag series I was like what's this for you called this one follows rebel who is a student at oh wow a student who has a scholarship at college and she is super super smart that's why it's hashtag nerd and she basically has to tutor Romeo Anderson and it's a stipulation in her scholarship she's basically the best to do they have and if she is forced to tutor him because if he fails he's off a football team and no one wants that absolutely no one so this is a football college romance and I just adore it so much it is so funny but this one it kind of reminds me of pretty lawyers because there's someone that is I forgot what I call it but they have kind of a campus app and it's hashed they use like hash tag whatever and it's all about checking on Romeo animals relationship from there and then there's secret societies and there's college and everything to do with this book this one I just absolutely love and I actually started rereading it a little bit yesterday but I think I'm gonna wait until I go back to school this is always a favorite for me if you believe the first three books in the series are Romeo and Rimmel story and then the next two books are Rayden story which is Romeo's best friend Romeo also is basically the star quarterback of the team start football player he comes from money stuff like that so it's a lot of I want to say typical tropes that you see in romance or sports romances but this book is just so well written and I absolutely love this I really enjoy Cambria Hebert's writing and I do have to read a lot more of her other books I've read her a Blanche white I think it's white paw or Bear Paw resort book I only read the first one but her books are you fly through them they're so so so good this is a new adult college football romance if you guys are interested in this one then we have another oldie I'm going up all the old favorite books and that is beautiful disaster by Jamie McGuire wow I forgot the author this book is one of the first sports romance books that has ever been recommended to me I think I talked about this on my romance recommendation video but this one is just phenomenal it is another college romance but this one's a lot darker and it deals with heavier topics that a normal college romance talks about this also has a lot a it has gambling in it it has this is also a Mme romance he's an underground MMA fighter but he's only doing it for money and I forgot why he needs the money but there's a lot of dark elements in this book that I really really enjoy it is such a great read Jamie McGuire does a lot of things that you wouldn't think would be realistic but she makes them seem realistic so I really really enjoyed this book and definitely check it out if you want and MMA romance or if you want something a little bit darker stuff like that but honestly it Travis Maddox who is the main character in this like there's tattoos bad boy if you want that check this out then we have this book will forever be one of my favorites and that is misadventures of a college girl by Lauren Rowe this one is just it's so good like the ending is kind of annoying because there's a lot of time skips time jumps but other than that I think this is my favorite in the Miss adventure series this fellow's a 21 year old college student who is kind of really breathing out of her shell and wants to enjoy her senior year I think no I lied this isn't 21 she's a freshman ah she's a freshman college student at UCLA and she's kind of wants to break out of a show enjoy herself she's from a really small town and there's just she wants go to NYU but she didn't get accepted so there's a lot going on here and then we had Tyler Cadwell who is the football player in here I think he's a junior I think I could be wrong but he's the typical bad boy football player that you would see in any college sports romance so this book was just really really good I enjoyed it because I think it's humorous in a way but I feel like it's also very realistic some of the elements I wasn't a hatred at the ending because there's just so many time skips and I'm not a time skip person unless it's the epilogue but besides the point this book was really good it's super fun super short if you want a college sports romance definitely check this one out this also before I put it down this also has a lot of feeder elements to because I think she's a drama major or a writing major but so it's kind of like you get sports but you also get some theater in here as well then we are down to our last two books this one I have is the bombshell effects by Carlos Sorenson this is book 1 and the Washington wolf series it's a three book series this one I really really love it's so good basically this girl this is also an adult football romance so they're in their 20s but I forgot her name Oh Allie Sutton a Lisa in her father passes away and her father was the owner of the Washington wolves so in his will he basically has her inherit the Washington wolves and she kind of comes on and she's kind of annoyed with it because she's the type of person that doesn't really stay in one place and she doesn't really want the team but as time goes on she really she realizes she wants the team and she wants to do well is she doesn't want anyone to underestimate that a woman can own a football team then we have Luke Pierre saying that this is also a trope with a single dad so he's a single dad with a daughter and get to know more about that as time goes on but he is their star quarterback he's on the older side I think he's either I think he's getting into his 30s so he's more of an older quarterback he's not gonna be there for that long but he's the star player he holds the team together and obviously him and Ally start a relationship but Ally pushes back against it a lot because she doesn't want to be seen as someone who is with the players she wants the strong stigma of being an owner and stuff like that I loved this book I loved the whole series and I loved her spin-off series this is just really good if you want something quick but something that actually has substance to it definitely check this out and my last recommendation I love this book I feel like I've tried to read this book every year because it's just so good and I just really really love it and that is sweet home it's like home this is one of her lighter romances it's not that light but it kind of like this is a college football romance if you can't tell college football romances are my favorite sub-genre of sports romance this is just so good so it follows Molly's Shakespeare and I think it's Romeo Prince so it's kind of a retelling of Romeo and Juliet but not really kind of but not really so if you like Shakespeare there are some elements of Shakespeare in this book which I enjoyed this also follows Molly who is a she's going to be a graduate student at the University of Alabama and she is I think she is teeing a class or she's teaching the class for professor something like that so Romeo is actually her student so you kind of have a student teacher not really but kind of and there's a whole bunch of stuff there's Greek life involved in here there's she's British and he's American so the stuff like that there's just so many elements there's a lot of sadness in this book I do have to tell you this plotline now is very similar to hashtag nerd by cambrie Hubert so if you have read that series you're gonna love this series if you read the series you're gonna love that series very very similar in terms of plotline but this one it just has so much substance and I really really love it the fourth book in this series is also a sports romance and I believe it's I don't know if there's it's their friend or if it's their son I think I'm not positive but he as well I think he goes to a school in Washington I don't think he goes to University of Alabama but this series is just really good it's so heartwarming and honestly a lot of this again as well if you think it can be realistic it is very realistic it's not unrealistic that made no sense but I'm hoping you understand like I said this one be really good and there was just a lot of again substance on here there's bullying there's Greek life there's drama everything under the Sun if you want a college romance this book has it it's just really really good and I really really love this book so much I hope you guys enjoyed my sports romance recommendations again I tried to give you less popular titles so you're not getting the same recommendations from every single booktuber out there I still read the popular titles I can give you Saturn a it's great author EL kind of these great author all those authors phenomenal but they're more in the popular side so I want to give you books that you probably have not heard of and I definitely hope you guys really really check them out especially sweet home by totally cool that one is one of my favorites and just all them are so good I hope this helps you guys it's also gonna be fall soon not really but soon and I know a lot of colleges especially a lot of schools around me have cancelled their football seasons so if you want a little fill a football then you have these books to help you and I also tried to differentiate most them were football romances but you get a baseball romance and and the main romance in there so it's a little different but definitely check these books out guys I really really hope you do and I'm very excited to share
