Special Guest: Dr. Billye Brim - Taking the Authority of the Believer on the Offensive

welcome to the faith broadcast i'm carrick butler the pastor of faith christian center thanks for tuning in today we believe today's message is going to help you live this lifestyle of faith it's going to empower you to live a life that makes jesus famous wherever you go open up your heart we know god has something special just for you and we believe that as you listen to today's message something good is going to happen to you so listen up i'll talk to you today at the end of our broadcast shalom shalom pastor carrick mrs butler family and of course all the congregation when carrick asked me to do this i knew it was going to be a wednesday night group and i remember when i was in a denominational church we had study courses and we'd come and do those study courses and it was just like a school and then you got a certificate so i don't know if carrick wants to give you a certificate or not but i'm going to do it like it's a study course i think it's so absolutely imperative that you get this you live in the atlanta area and cities i think are a target for the uh enemy now i want to read to you brother kenneth hagin i i know that if you're carrick's congregation you respect brother kenneth hagin and this is a prophecy that was given in the 1980s probably at a prayer conference the end of the age is coming upon this generation the powers of darkness the forces of evil are rampant as never before they will be increased in intensity and vic velocity bad news but biblical and even many christians will see and look upon these things and say oh there's no use throw up their hands in futility and say well i guess it's all over we'll just have to hold on and pray for jesus to come because the devil's about to take everything over but thus saith the lord in this day i am searching the body of christ to enlist soldiers i'll raise up a new band i'll raise up a new army who will know how to pray against the powers of darkness and the light will dispel the darkness and the truth will set men free and prayer will break the bonds that bind men's minds and spirits and bodies now i want to skip over some of this which talks about our taking our place and it talks about marvelous things we know there's an awakening there's marvelous things ahead he talked about them prophesied about them at this time god has great things marvelous things wonderful things things that will happen in the spirit realm that will be manifest in the scene realm things beyond the comprehension of most who stand here at the same time the enemy is making his move darkness will loom up like a mountain in front of you the devil will throw up every kind of road block in front of you and that's the reason you need to be alerted walk softly before the lord when i say walk softly i mean watchfully before the lord keep yourself uncontaminated from the world and worldly thinking see to it that you keep yourself clean and pure in every way from evil and unclean thought that would come your way walk carefully before the lord not to be in bondage but to be free knowing that the lord has set you free and satan cannot entangle you bless the lord so here we are we're down to the end of this age and uh i i've been thinking about some of the things that are going on and wondering really why they're allowed to go on when people know how to stop them and i thought about it last night we had a prayer meeting even at the house and you know i wrote the book on the blood and the glory i had a great uh revelation of the power of the blood everything we have is on the basis of his shed blood but it's it's triumphant over satan absolutely but i got thinking about this last night why some of this stuff going on and i think that people are sometimes using the blood as defense and they're not using it on the offense in a football i'm a real sports fan and in a football game you got the offensive line you got the defensive line the offensive team the defensive team you know let's just look at what god told us to do and i hope you brought your bibles in romans chapter 5 what did he tell the body of christ to do hallelujah and i think i think that we'll also read colossians chapter 1. and in colossians chapter 1 we're going to see what we're supposed to be giving thanks for which is colossians 1 12 giving thanks unto the father which hath made us meet or able or qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light and that it doesn't have v there in the king james but it is in the original saints in the light who has delivered us from the authority of darkness either we're delivered from the authority of satan in darkness or we're not who hath delivered us from the authority of darkness and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear son in whom we have redemption through his blood even the forgiveness of sins through the blood through the blood through the blood through the blood now this group here that he's talking to that's been translated out of the power and dominion of darkness satan doesn't have any dominion over you unless you let him have it that group he has moved them into romans chapter 5. and verse 17 what a chapter that is verse 17 but for if by one man's offense death reigned by one the first adam much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one jesus christ amplified says shall reign as kings in life now i thought about just driving here on the way even while shelley and i were just talking i thought about this kings of old had a room in which they had a big throne david solomon other kings and and the people would come and present their petitions before them they'd make judgments on it now the king's only business was not just to sit on that throne get all of his guards around him and say keep enemy out don't let anybody touch me and just sit there all day like this well i got i got protection no no kings went out and did battle god told kings to go out and get battle just get over the idea that the ten commandments say thou shalt not kill they don't say that at all they say thou shalt not murder quite a different thing god told saul to mop up on the amalekite kill them everyone reasons why here but my point is the king and we're kings we don't just sit under the blood and hope satan never touches us or our kids we gotta take authority over the prince of the power of the air in your domain wherever you are in your domain the bible jesus called him the prince of the power of the air other places call him that and of course we know that adam let him in there that first adam let him in there and so he's there and he has set up around you an unseen unseen kingdom kingdom of darkness and they're ruling and reigning because why adam let him in there now chip i'm i'm going to reveal one of chip's revelations before he'll probably get me for this but anyway you're just here and they won't see it down there until may so he'll have time to preach it but he's going to talk about um and we've been talking about it on the phone about uh dimensions and what you can see and what you can't see and how things are just on different dimensions and like these blinds in here we have to shut them uh because light you know when we're doing a video but there's a whole lot of pretty things out there if we just open the lines so your your blinds you got shutters on there's a veil and you ought to be glad for that veil because brother hagin said if you could only see uh you there there is a multitude of demons around you the oh here's how he said it the very air about you is infested with demons but be sure to know that there are angels out there plenty angels bless the lord at least twice as many so here here here's the thing that i want to say to you today and what we're going to take our little book to the authority of the believer and how to use it when i take authority i sit down because kings reign they sit we're not just going to be on the defensive you live in atlanta you're going to take in atlanta area i know you don't live in atlanta well some of you probably do but the church is in a different area but close by you have to rule and reign not just be on the defense if you're in minneapolis if you are in tulsa if you're in any city i think he's particularly after cities don't just sit there selfishly keeping the blood over you and yours but you know what i i i don't know why but people don't do this they agree with it but they don't take their behinds and sit down in a chair in the morning and rule and reign over their domain it's just like well i i i believe in that i believe in that i sure do believe in that satan i'll plead the blood over me and go quickly about something else i i really am am thinking and knowing we can do this yes we can absolutely do this so you have that little book we pass it out to everyone there we shipped them down there to you this little authority of the believer in how to use it uh middle of page nine i worked for kenneth hagin i did his books for for years and he wrote a forward in his book the believer's authority back in the 1940s i asked myself the question do we have authority we don't know about that we haven't discovered we're not using i had had little glimpses of spiritual authority once in a while like others i'd stumbled upon it and had exercised it without knowing what i was doing i wondered is the spirit of god trying to show me something so i began to study along this line think along this line feed along this line and i began to see more and more light an article in the pentecostal evangel prompted my study on the words power and authority then i came across a wonderful pamphlet entitled the authority of the believer by john a macmillan a missionary to china and the philippines who later edited the alliance weekly a result of my studies i concluded that we as a church have authority on the earth we've never yet realized authority we're not using a few of us have barely gotten to the edge of that authority but before jesus comes again there's going to be a whole company of believers who will rise up with the authority that is theirs last night at our prayer meeting in our house the lord said in real power rise up rise up rise up that's us rise up to who we are rise up to our inheritance i can't remember us last night or on the phone call this morning he told us come on into your inheritance there's going to be a whole company of believers who will rise up with the authority that is theirs they will know what is theirs and they will do the work that god intended they should do well that's us that's you that's me that's us hallelujah now he talked about john a macmillan's book which i have this book and every single one of you need to have it shelley's is falling apart at the seams she takes it with her and reads it over and over and over and over and over about doing it being on the offense this book now here's what he wrote in his preface the rapidly approaching end of the age is witnessing a tremendous increase in the activity of the powers of darkness he lists some reasons we all know that so to meet the situation the church of christ needs a new conception of prayer the urgent call is for men and women wholly yielded to the lord whose eyes have been enlightened to see their ministry in the heavenlies bless the lord remember that you have a ministry in the heavenly that is your that is your inheritance that is your call so you've got a ministry on earth but you have a ministry in the heavenlies so what we need is to handle this he says is a new conception of prayer the urgent call is for men and women wholly yielded to the lord whose eyes have been enlightened to see their ministry in the heavenlies to which they've been called such believers may in union with the great head of the body exercise and authority to which the powers of the air must give place were ever challenged they have to they don't have a choice brother hagin said if you resisted if you if you think you resisted the devil and he's still there if he didn't flee from you you didn't resist him that's offensive it's not just defensive bless the lord so he goes into some words in the bible new testament power it says power sometimes it's the word dunamis which is like a dynamite power and sometimes it's the word authority of course we don't have you couldn't hold back the devil if you tried in your own self no way but you have the authority through the shed blood of jesus christ to do it hallelujah glory be to god now uh i i said in chapter two christians have the authority what page is this hallelujah page 17 19. christians have the authority to keep their areas free from shooting sprees at local schools churches malls public events now we're faced with a lot of rioting what do you think's driving people to bash storefronts someone's been there and that's their life savings and they've got a store there what do you think it is that that comes upon them uh and and and they bash in things and they steal and they rob it's satan sometimes in shootings police shootings etc drive-by shootings it's it's it's satan he comes upon that policeman he comes upon that and puts fear in them he comes upon who's ever doing the drive by he's behind it all and who has got authority to stop it is the church in that area the lord told brother hagin he said whatever happens in america happens because the church allows it well i tried it didn't work you can't try it no that's what you have to do well i pleaded the blood that morning you can't just plead it that morning satan knows you i knew a great old saint of god strong he and his wife and the lord and he said it comes down to a confrontation with you and satan sometimes it does face to face he says whoever blinks first loses jesus so you don't blink no and you don't run around saying well i did it and i don't know why that didn't happen you have to do it you can't just believe it can't just agree with it if all of you down there in brother pastor carrick butler's church just you who are there tonight if you'd get up in the morning hallelujah we were at my house last night we had a prayer meeting with max and uh the lord was talking to us and he said the devil will say she's up again uh oh she's up again uh oh they're up again it ought to be that way oh they're up again they're sitting in their seat tiptoe around devils little imps tiptoe around be watchful they're up because he knows what you're gonna do when you're up he knows you're gonna set yourself down in your chair you're going to get that bible and you're going to rule and you're going to reign over him i know some the bible says in hebrews that we let things slip so here's this little book you got now this little book hallelujah the prayer in ephesians of course tells you all about this it tells us that in ephesians 1 hallelujah we're going to pray this prayer in a minute it tells you that god raised up jesus and set him at his right hand and that when he raised him up he raised you up and then he told you in romans 5 17 to rule and reign as a king in life hallelujah so uh i'm going to quote now this is from the authority of the believer by john a macmillan portions of pages 5-23 and i've got it on my page 23 here when the lord jesus the captain of our salvation was raised from the dead the act of resurrection was accomplished through the exceeding greatness of god's power to us were to believe according to the working of the strength of his might hallelujah resurrection power it says in romans and what we're going to pray in ephesians is give unto me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him and the thing it asks him for and that we ask god for in that prayer and that we're emphasizing today is the power to us were to believe it's resurrection power that's the power he gave you that's a power he got me gave me i got that spirit of resurrection living inside of me hallelujah he it was opposed his resurrecting jesus was opposed and god had to use the greatest exercise of god's power in the word of god is not creation he wasn't resisted on that he was raising jesus from the dead and he gave that power to you and me his body and he expects us to use that inheritance we have to possess it just the same as joshua and the children of israel had to possess theirs and they didn't do it all that's what got them in a lot of trouble later hallelujah ephesians lifts the believer this is on page 25 next to the last paragraph ephesians lifts the believer with the ascended christ to the heavenlies where he is made a partaker of christ's throne the elevation of the lord's people with their head they are made to sit with christ in the heavenlies christ's seat is at the right hand of god his people therefore occupy with him the same august position this honor is not to a chosen few but is the portion of all those who share in the resurrection of the son of god it is the birthright of every true believer of every born-again child of god the right hand of the throne of god is the center of the power of the whole universe actually of all creation and the exercising of the power of the throne was committed unto the ascended lord the elevation of his people with him to the heavenlies has no other meaning than that they are made sharers of the authority which is his they are made to sit with him that is they share his throne to share a throne means without question to partake of the authority which it represents indeed they have been thus elevated in the plan of god for this very purpose that they may even now exercise to the extent of their spiritual apprehension authority over the powers of the air and over the conditions which those powers have brought about on the earth and are still creating through their ceaseless manipulation of the minds and circumstances of mankind rebel holders of authority it is necessary to state here what is commonly understood by those who carefully study the word that the kingdoms of this world are under the control and leadership of satanic principalities the great head of these is called the prince of this world the prince of the power of the air go down to the last paragraph although a rebel against the most high and now under judgment of dispossession he is still at large and as the masses of mankind are also rebels he maintains over them and unquestioned because unsuspected rule their eyes being blinded to his dominance the divine purpose of the ages the god of the whole earth does not propose to tolerate forever this rebellion against his righteousness god having redeemed a people and purified them has introduced them into the heavenlies this purpose present and future is very definitely stated in ephesians 3 9 through 11. as the divine will that now in the present time unto the principalities and powers in the heavenly places might be made known through the church the manifold wisdom of god oh this is called the purpose of the ages the eternal purpose from the beginning god was going to send his son and raise up a body that was going to demonstrate god and his power to those principalities in the air so if he's running roughshod over your neighborhood that's not the will of god if you live there god's will that you he shows his power through you and if you work with him according to the law there's spiritual laws if you work with him according to these spiritual laws you'll be the one running things in your neighborhood the church is to be god's instrument in declaring to these rebellious and now usurping powers the divine purpose this is further declared to be according to the eternal purpose of the ages which he purposed in christ jesus god through all the past ages has had him view this wonderful plan of preparing in christ jesus a people chosen and called and faithful whom he might place in these heavenly seats to rule not only now but through the ages to come you know what's going to happen in the millennium the jews are going to rule earth the jews that were on this earth during the time of when god jesus comes back on his white horse they're going to rule from jerusalem but you will have a glorified body your headquarters will be heavenly jerusalem i'm sure there'll be interplanetary cat travel but you're going to be taking the places that these these these evil spirits have now occupied you'll be the over rulers i don't know if they can see us or not i don't know people on the earthly people i don't know maybe they can but you'll be the over rulers where it says concerning the church king james they will rule on the earth it says they will reel over the earth we brought that out in our study of the book of revelation so they're going to be kicked out that that that occupying area where they are right now they're going to be kicked out of that and we're going to be the over rulers bless the lord but now he wants you doing it right now he wants you occupying that seat right now it says now and in all the ages now and in all the ages to come far above christ sits far above he fills all in all but he has chosen to do so through his body in ephesians 1 22 it says he hath put all things under his feet the feet are members of the body how wonderful to think that the least and lowest member of the body of the lord brother hagin always said i don't care if you're the little if you're the toenail on the left foot on the little toe you're far above he has seated you far above bless the lord even those who in a sense are the very souls of the feet are far above all the mighty forces we've been considering what is that then this is reading from um authority of the believer what need for the church to awake to an apprehension of her mighty place of privilege exalted to rule over the spiritual powers of the air how often she fails in her ministry of authority or grovels yes before demons in fear i'm telling you right now there is so much fear operating in the body of christ right now i'm ashamed of it absolutely ashamed of it that's groveling he's head over all things page 30 to the church which is his body we've little grasp of the force of these marvelous truths so he suggests saying he's head over all things he's head to the church over all things he's the head we're the body and we're oh and it's over all things the failure of the church bottom of page 30 why then is there not more manifest progress because a head is wholly dependent upon its body for the carrying out of its plan the lord jesus is hindered in his mighty plans and working because his body has failed to appreciate the deep meaning of his exultation and to respond to the gracious impulses which he is constantly sending for its quickening now i want us to go over i want to um how to do it for the rest of the time we're going to be talking about this this is from page 27 of the book uh chapter 3 middle of the page and this page 27 is in here i give this book to people and i say okay i gave them the book they got a lot of trouble devil a year later they still got trouble i said did you read that book oh yeah i got it said right in there i read it did you do page 27 because i always tell them do page 27 do it be a doer james 1 22 of the word not a hearer only deceiving your own self so here quote chapter 3 middle do we believe that god quote has quickened us together with christ and raised us up together and made us sit together in the heavenlies in christ jesus if we do our reaction to it will be a fervent lord now everybody in here read with me and you out there read with me okay down in georgia i can tell if you not read the lord show me i plead the blood no chapter 3 everybody allowed okay lord i accept thy gracious word i believe that thou hast thus wrought for me in humble faith i do now take my place in the heavenly places in christ jesus at the right hand teach me how to fulfill this sacred ministry how to exercise the authority which thou hast entrusted to me train me day by day that i may attain to the full stature of the perfect man in christ so that in me thy purpose of the ages may be fulfilled amen now i'll read if we're walking in the spirit our normal life is in the heavenlies to secure the consciousness of this there must be the daily acceptance of the fact let us morning by morning as one of our first acts of worship take our seat with christ as suggested in the previous paragraph and return thanks to god for all it implies let us often remind ourselves we're seated far above all the powers of the air they're in subjection to us as our faith learns faith learns to use the name and the authority of jesus we shall find the spiritual forces yielding obedience in ways that will surprise us what does that mean that means you've been praying and begging god something for years suddenly you understand that you can take authority over the devil and it ceases praise as we continue to abide closely in him now you're not going to get this running around acting like the devil breaking all the rules worrying threaten not forgiving folk it ain't going to work for you mcgee you have to try to live right as we continue to abide closely in him our prayers for the advancement of the kingdom will become less and less the uttering of petitions and will increasingly manifest the exercise of a spiritual authority that binds the forces of darkness i have fun binding him every day what do we do here's how brother hagin suggested it you sit down with the book of ephesians which is the book that tells you you have this authority and you start with verse 17 of of chapter 1. now it's in italics here so we're going to do it together this is an example of how i do it so all of you there in georgia and then you hear in this prayer mountain room uh let's let's pray this is a prayer now we're praying okay this is a prayer lord okay god of our lord jesus christ the father of glory please give unto me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him let the eyes of my understanding be enlightened that i may know what is the hope of his calling the riches of the glory of your inheritance in the saints the exceeding greatness of your dunamis to us word who believe according to the which you wrought in the messiah the anointed one when you raised him from the dead and set him at your own right hand in the heavenlies far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named not only in this age and world but also in that which is to come you put all things under his feet and gave him to be the head over all to the ekklesia the church which is his body the fullness of him that filleth all in all and me have you quickened when i was dead slain by my trespasses and sins but god you who are rich in mercy and for your great love for with you loved me even when we were dead in sins you quickened me together with christ by grace we are saved you raised us up together and made us sin together in the heavenlies in christ jesus when you quickened him you quicken me when you raised him you raised me when you seated him you seated me in him therefore in him i am seated far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named and in the name of jesus i will now rule and reign over the powers of darkness because the lord told me to in romans 5 17 for i have received abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness therefore i now reign as a king in my life by one jesus christ kingdom of darkness you listen to me i hold the blood of jesus over all things pertaining to me and i forbid you having anything to do with now here this is where i take out after it i follow my spirit i usually start with my family the leaders i name them i plead the blood over myself spirit soul and body and i move to the good works that god has deemed that i should walk in you follow the holy ghost and i say something like this which i said this morning satan kingdom of darkness from the top down to the lowest imp you listen to me i call you paralyzed in my domain and you know the borders you know what god gave billy brim dominion over of course my neighborhood of course branson missouri of course tulsa oklahoma area collinsville where the church is of course mcdollar bell but i do know that god has given me a larger domain and you know what it is because you can read the stakes you can see the dominion you can see the borders and i absolutely command and demand and will absolutely not have you operating in my domain i call you paralyzed because he said whatsoever is bound in heaven whatsoever is bound on earth whatsoever you bind on earth is bound in heaven whatsoever you loose on earth is loosed in heaven i bind you and cause you parallel i call you paralyzed in all my family's life my four children sometimes i name them all shelley terry brenda chip their mates my ten grandchildren their mates my eight great-grandchildren prayer mountain in the ozarks all the good works you called and ordained that i should walk in you are paralyzed you're not operating in the heavenlies i call you bound in the heavenlies over branson missouri you're not bringing any any riots in here you're not bringing any of your demons to rule in the heavenlies around here because i take authority over you i tell you what you can do and what you can't do you're not bringing any sickness to me and so i tell him what to do you have to do it and i think that's what's been happening people have been using the blood and it's very right to do so for defensive purposes jesus has defeated him but you have to enforce that because we're like like we've just been talking we're on the last we're on the last legs of this thing satan still thinks he can he can he can win but god's got an army yes and you're it but that army is not just to sit huddled up and praying and believing for them for us for no more teeth chattering and sh oh i hate it i absolutely hate the body of christ to confess and and publicize and send out uh emails and and videos don't send me one more video bragging on the devil i'll just put it to the trash well look at here what's happening look at here advertise advertise advertise and the devil laughing they're advertising for me they're telling what i'm doing i got a victory here no no so what am i telling to you down in georgia same thing i'm telling them here same thing i'm telling me you be sure to sit in your seat every morning and take your authority and rule and reign like the lord told you to romans 5 17 those which have received abundance of grace and to the gift of righteousness shall reign in life through one jesus christ we gave you free every one of you have one of those books on them on the seat when you came in and i sent some more down there a bunch more give them away give them to people and encourage them to do it it's not what you believe it's what you do he points out that the even the word belief this is this is macmillan it comes from two anglo-saxon word one means be have this essence be and the other one is leaf live your life like you believe so unless you're living your life like you believe you don't really believe that's exciting hallelujah i love you down there brother brother pastor carrick and family and all the
