we're at an entrance to a silver mine here and we're gonna go in and check this mine out but I do have a kind of a neat little flashlight review to do and most people will be familiar with the blue batteries here these are 18 650 s the bigger green one is a 26 650 these are generally two to three thousand milliamps two to three amps and these are four to five amps and I've been looking for a flashlight that used the bigger battery longer life and so friend contacted me and they said they just made available for sale a flashlight that uses it so we're gonna open it here and take a look so you know pop it open and this uses the bigger 26 650 battery and this is a model number SP 33 26 650 so and it comes there's the head there's the bigger so yeah here's the 18 650 and there's a 26 650 and it actually comes with an adapter to use the 18 650 - so this flashlight will support both the big and the small lithium batteries so anyway we're gonna go in this is going to be a long Explorer they say four to five hours this - four to five hours so we're gonna go in and check this out and video this mind I think I forgot to mention that the SP 33 comes with a 5500 milliamp 26 650 as well as the USB charging and a pack of silica gel if you get hungry underground there's a discount code in the description below if you're interested in buying one of these I'm actually going to order a couple more of them because I I like the runtime for the size it's pretty good also I'm gonna give this mine about a seven to seven and a half out of ten this is a pretty cool Explorer pretty cool spot so right now we're sitting in Precambrian basement rocks and metamorphic rock called nice it's one point four billion years old some of the oldest rocks exposed in California and like a hundred feet that was it's really a lot younger lime stones only a few hundred million years old this whole sheet of carbon a limestone has been thrust up on top of this super old Precambrian basement so we're about to like walk right through the contact of that limestone in this older rock underneath so you want to show it the transition is we did it's kind of hard to see visit the rock just translated usually to rocking and such thing so we're in limestone right now hey David let me jump up there what's that oh this is a CL HD right here mucker [Music] I think when when they think more of LHD they think of like a diesel powered locomotive type thing where you sit on it know it it it throws the or back behind it yeah yeah I think that's that's probably the difference yeah see it wax so Springs those Springs are the stop and that's where it flings the or straight yeah the air flow stopped right there where the LHD was okay so why are there different colors of rock here why is it gray on the bottom and then [Music] [Music] see it's a better light you going here this wins time huh look at that that's cool I didn't bring it I have a where they call that a shortwave and I did not bring it does it finish out right there what's that yeah that's the one they sent me that SP 33 one so friend don't call me that my my life depends on dopamine hits from more likes the more likes I get the yeah the more likes they get the happier I am like I really care actually this is just fun yeah that is a cool hoist it might have been that that thing might have slid on it like yeah or maybe that's what they use to take like equipment down there yeah I know what was down but it's the other way I think the hey maybe you know no metal to form an XRF gun yeah but it only tells you at the top like a few thousandths is right some type of some type of homemade low-budget or car I say let me get back there this is this a couple hundred feet yeah look keep the light right up there keep your light low lighting her well if we got to get up towards the top that was 500 feet above us the peak of this thing is epic that's got to be the top ear blowing up there's a door here air door huh wow that works good that's a zoom lens that's regularly on this hold on it's a regular lens that's a wide-angle that's a zoom oh I see there's another ladder up there did they keep going up this has got to be a drift level here Wow what let's see oh yeah someone told me about these ladders these are emergency ladders for boats I believe so they have that and they throw it over the side yeah definitely burnt wood that's not a good look so did you guys come up here before and that just phases out right there does that keep going up or is that that okay straight down here you can see they drilled that oh dude here's another one of these ladders continuing up oh and that looks like it's clogged oh wow and it connects to a connects to a chain ladder okay that's so that faces out right there so I don't know where did they go so that goes down God is kind of Maisy isn't it okay that's where we came up so we did not go this direction when I hear them you guys squeeze through that there's more ladders there's more ladders going up that we found back through that kind of crappy area all right so this is a natural crystal cave inside the mine and hey David I don't think he wants to try and squeeze through that that's pretty tight and trying to video this with these crystals is pretty difficult this is all natural this is not the result of mining this is a natural limestone I have to verify that with the geologists this is a natural limestone like a vug a naturally occurring cavern within the mine click look at this here no not this part that cave I just crawled out of with all the crystals what is as at does limestone is it calcite translucent [Music] there's another louder that goes up that's not straight vertical like this well I don't know here shine your light on shine that light on him and there you go right there light him up so that swinging swinging chain ladder came up right there that was marginally intimidating you know I don't have a problem with rope but I had a little bit of a problem with that so what's up there you know what that's probably that ladder is it like it's not straight vertical Oh breezy there's air you still have the so foreign light right okay cool that is a cool picture okay come on up it's kind of nice there's not a lot of dust because it's so this was just a natural hollow area and the water running in here over a long period of time did this is that what this is those caves in the East Coaster still actively forming this one is definitely not like a million or more years ago when it was wet here right maybe how strong these are like this thing's gonna hold my weight what thing oh you mean the ladder and then you say this goes up and out right Wow look at the look at the streaking I think they're yelling up at us what see you got to get the shadowing right for those things to show up he's going up here what was that oh we can't get out trying to figure out how to video these things and it's very difficult I mean you can't even see them you know I'm doing video so this I know this is standing up but that gives an idea the formations more towards the back of the ladder like light up the back of the ladder there you go okay we're headed back down this horrible ladder yeah I don't mind swinging on rope but for some reason I don't like this ladder I guess because I'm attached to rope via a harness and this ladder you're just kind of free hanging swaying in the wind well might as well burn some video here well he heads down the crystallized crystal e crystallization 'he's crisps delicious crystal tastic okay they went up this might go up to that room with all the formations so that shoot right there that would that came from that room we were where all the crystals were okay here's where we came in here's where we came down this is where all the crystals were crystals whatever you want to call it earlier we went to the left now we're going to go to the right and there's supposed to be quite a bit more to check out down there dust I just wish they made cigarette flavored pop-tarts what was that no no no like tobacco infused nicotine regimen pop-tarts [Music] Steve would be eat chain eating cigarette flavored pop-tarts insane mine ramblings we love your open hole was that an incline decline just finishes out right there I think PCV glue is definitely the part of any first aid kit look at the horn for the bell signal that's kind of cool yeah yeah that's an auto horn for the waste the bell signal host so where is the winds at is at this this the winds it must be this right here did you go down this [Music] nothing does this keep going thanks to the power of the new telephoto telephone I no longer have to walk down these pointless drifts that just go nowhere outlaw humans dot what Hummers outlaw Hummers to come why I thought they don't need to outlaw him they don't make them anymore the h1 I don't think so mine sandwich it's nice let me go Mike [Music] oh that is I don't even know what to think of that what the yeah like totally dude like radical wins flavored that is really Torquay Dirk omikuji dubler one sec once it goes a couple hundred feet deep you think it kind of curves the latter follows the curve [Music] this is a blower motor what is this [Music] I wonder if I should say in this video that this is private property and I'm exploring this with permission of the owner should I say that go back to the other light did you finish it out lies limestone death camp well I guess we already went to that mind which one the one with the weird this one because there's a shag carpeting couch in front of it you think it's I love the vacuum cleaner hose for ventilation I'm sure that would be M sha proved today you know in all the mines I've been in I don't think I've ever seen metal bolted to the walls like it was cement or something they were bolting into cinder block and this kind of a lot a lot that were well a lot that were pre-war and then were reopened after the war but I've never seen this stuff's like that that kind of metal that they make what do they call those things now why am i blanking out on something so basic right now shelving you put together that yeah exactly I mean I guess it's strong but yeah I've just never seen anything like this before so yeah I mean they drill the hole in there and then they put one of those lead inserts in there and just a regular lag bolt and then the vacuum cleaner hose and the I mean I love that electrical box it would be really cool if it had a meter on it twist lock twist lock it's like this white one right here in the side and the side of the box yeah so this fan was used to blow air down that vacuum cleaner tube so that after they blast they can get the fumes out of the hole because the fumes are deadly no no no that just blows air down that vacuum cleaner hose to the bottom to push the the fumes out after they blast no no they have to he sit he said 48 hours so they blast they load the charge they turn the fan on they let it detonate and then they can't come back for 48 hours because there's not a lot of inhalation in here so yeah they had a lot of ventilation in here [Music] [Music] you know I have absolutely no oh it's a water pump that's what it is it's a water pump it's a big water pump well relatively I think those are the springs are on the I'm Co this is an interesting tank I'm not really sure what to make out of that [Music] alright so we're gonna go take some colored pictures with the mucker [Music] this is where we went up again yeah that's fine yeah what's that white thing there what seriously what is that it looks like something for a pool oh is that what that is my skin yeah read it what is it [Music] [Music] [Music] do you think in the 50s maybe there was enough water for them to capture water in here I know that's not from the 50s but all right well we're headed out sets the mine cave with the so friend SP 3326 650 lithium-ion battery not the 18 650 C I'm pretty happy with it interesting notice how the echo dis changed right there Oh
