[Music] [Applause] [Music] morning so yesterday we got some pretty interesting news our gleaner's in it's at the local dealership it's been in ohio for a while it went to a different location where they did some the pm or pmi or basically the inspection they did when they first came off the truck had to take it to the local dealership because our adco draper head is there and they have to uh get it set up so they need to come and do that so naturally since our new combines there we thought of an excuse to go up to the dealership we need parts for that combine side note i'd get the fertilizer barn pretty clean even power washed it they don't have it up front it's inside the fence oh man i figured i'm going to show it off which way we go with that degreaser oh watch the degreaser oh i forgot we had a greaser on this one yeah i forgot all about that yeah that was remember we were yeah we didn't know we had to change the order remember because the order didn't have he sure is making this one fun to edit i mean it ain't gonna be watertight but i mean they go to the shed about ninety percent of time anyways hey dad make sure the rotor covers on how many guys can fit under the porch of a gleaner jason is there enough room for a rocking chair upper on this side okay oh my god yes morning monday morning what better way to start the week than getting in a grain bin destiny awaits let's go [Applause] change plans so i guess it's supposed to cool off about 15 degrees tomorrow so dad's putting on 28 bj's holding him tanks of 28 and i've got some really early beans coming because i'm gonna replant some more so i guess we're gonna drive around look at some more bean fields those beans should be here tomorrow but i get those in during this dry spell so this field here very uneven looking so we've been kind of keeping an eye on that we've walked through it a few times had uh had an agronomist out here looking at it had some tissue samples taken what i'm trying to say is you can kind of see them yeah you probably can't see it on camera but there's just a strip out there that just looks terrible corn is about uh well six inches to a foot shorter and much more green or lighter green color but anyways what i'm saying is try to walk fields quite a bit this time of year because you can learn things you can learn what you're deficient in you can learn what you need to address in the off-season and hopefully you can fix whatever problem you got going on in the field in season to save the crop sometimes you can't for example we're seeing some ph deficiencies in different fields we're seeing some places where fertilizers may be streaked in different fields so you can learn a lot this time of year by looking and walking your fields so this field here this was planted later not super late though like mid-may but it was vertical tilled right before i planted it i waited until b.j was able to kill it before i planted this field and yeah there was really no uh no slug damage corn doesn't have a whole lot of slug damage in it either looks pretty good out there really growing this kind of weather hot humid plenty of moisture oh yeah this corn will start doubling in size every week maybe not quite doubling but it's going to get a lot bigger every day now i believe dad has post sprayed this corn hope so because if it gets much bigger he'll have to post spray it with drop nozzles when a drop nozzle is a nozzle goes down in between the corn leaves that way you still get a good coverage on your weeds on the on the ground a little bit slower a little bit bigger pain in the butt but i i think he's already sprayed this field won't be long before the sweets ready probably two weeks you might guess i think we got a pretty good wheat crop got sold pretty right so for the first time in a long time i'm excited about wheat harvest i'm always excited but usually wheat is not our highest dollar crop this year i think we'll do okay i think a lot can go wrong between now and then just picked up the little dude from kindergarten camp taking some lunch to dad he's putting on some 28 side dressing fork did you have fun dude apparently you just get a bag of pops okay so today's video is just all over the place but dad had doctor's appointment so he parked the sprayer for now one thing i need to do is get this combine out of here this is when we traded i thought it'd be out of here by now i've never washed it yet so i need to get it out of the building get my stuff out of the cab because it should be leaving here this week sometime i wonder if it's dead be a miracle if it starts apparently i left a bag of sunflower seeds in here that's wonderful i forgot i probably checked the oil first heck of a no run a raccoon through it take out the fan see any coons no good see if we got anything living up here well mice have been up here that's comforting hopefully the wiring harness hasn't been chewed on hey it started yep that's where we're gonna wash it mouse poop that's gross that stinks in there whoever ends up with this combine i'm sorry bj's over here pulling plates out of the corn planter we are completely done with that planter for the year so taking all the you know the plates out of the meters seat discs apparently that's how you're supposed to store it don't that look like it's half full no it's just the algae it's empty i guess better put some water in this tank we ain't gonna ain't gonna wash much right now so i had an epiphany this tank's empty dad's not spraying so i just pull over to the water tank like the spray tank pump out of it that's what we're gonna do right to the wellhead so i know a lot of people keep asking who's gonna run the gleaner dad claims that i am um i'll be surprised if that's the case we'll see he claims that he's been running that combine for six years he knows like the back of his hand that's why he's gonna keep running but i don't know i have a hard time believing that but this one was my combine and it is the one we traded uh dad's combine it does have a few more hours in this one but it has a few more options too that make it a little bit more desirable [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right she's well she's not clean clean but she's she looks good from 50 feet i'm really going to miss how good these yellow combines look in my opinion whenever they are cleaned up best-looking combines on the market but now i'm going to head off to my daughter's softball game first game of summer softball and after that game's over we will haul this thing over to the hoop barn or not haul it we're going to drive it over heavy did you win no we tied yeah you know ties are like kissing your sister right all right kayla take combine over the depot i don't even know how to start it right you drove it last year with the key see kayla when you watch this this is how you start it magic so take this thing over to the hoop bar it's about 7 30 so we'll probably clean out the cab tomorrow or sometime sometime in the near future might be my last time driving this combine now this was the first combine i've ever bought uh it's really sort of my man what my first big farm purchase but it was definitely up there you
