andrew hooper here come with the Hooper's we're able to get a in-depth behind-the-scenes view of our camper getting built to 2020 keystone montana 38:55 dr basically saw it from framing wheels up until it was full-body paint it was completed i was a phenomenal experience basically behind the scenes of anything and everything i wanted access to I want to thank Keystone for that opportunity in this video we're going through you know how the slides are put in how the trims put on the you know the prep process for paint you know the cabinet's the refrigerator how all of that comes together is one quality unit in a remarkably short amount of time tons of people working at the factory all of which were in great spirits it was a great experience and I'm thankful to Keystone for giving us the behind-the-scenes access to to to see it getting built see our home getting built it's 355 a.m. on Thursday and Andrew is getting ready to head up to the Keystone Factory to watch a rig go on the line we're so excited and slightly tired excited it's finally here and this is where the fun begins lots of cars lots of people the production starts at 4 a.m. still in Factory 4 o'clock in the morning things are already bustling get forklifts moving rigs around looks like they may be doing some PD eyes [Applause] and this is where it starts we got the frame delivered from the Lippert factory and we're gonna take you a long step by step that food is the underpinning on the installation spare tire the axles currently the frame is looking at cover and roll down the line [Music] so now that thanks for going in wiring [Music] these are our black tank you can see all your sensors in there get this heating the heating pad below everything warm these are a new tank that Keystone's has its one-piece molded whereas the old ones had a seam in them so these have a lot less chance of breaking and leaking doing things the right way [Music] [Music] creping the floor we get the insulation in the water lines the heat ducts they are talking getting ready to put the cup Warren [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] it helps to have the right tools make it quick work drilling the subfloor down here and everything down making sure you don't have any sweets in your floor [Music] extra flooring down don't have any protrusions we'll take that over there and every now and then they'll get a top of a nail to make Clark the wreckage withers that's the stick enough [Music] [Applause] we went around all the whole so when they put the floor on little sick nights and here goes the floor just as easy as that [Music] currently up in the stating deck for the cabinet to think [Music] start of the line those up here they'll start put in the wall put the roof on the electrical plumbing this is our floor plan before the walls there's our kitchen sink yeah my office that the one piece shower your water heaters your water Bay your basement insulation for doing plumbing and wiring pretty cool this is my office we're all sitting work [Music] behind the scenes where the cabinets are being built everything has its own spot everything organized if that jig set up for everything to make the cabinets as quickly and as efficiently as possible and be able to have a product that they can actually repeat [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] stealing's going in [Music] [Music] reppin the cap with the suction handle getting ready to get the lift and [Music] [Music] [Music] be the roof paper down the flashing putting the roof of the roof on and if they're rolling it next [Music] [Music] dicor in the roof putting the air conditioners on the roof on with trim on gutters there's art of the next station next nation is slide [Music] windows are in leaving fans in [Music] windows windows windows get the guys over here strolling the slides around presentation [Music] kitchen window [Music] there's an arrow the finish putting the slide trim on the outside looks like this detective putting some roofs on as well wife second back here start putting them together you see this is the entertainment section on a you guys put the appliance again all the captain's like here's kind of where they start but these are the actual slide sections the freeing them up in the ends up and start keeping them together with the exterior is on this is a this like a bunk room slides and scarpered in it and then here he goes the slide in our egg three I should have gone the green Peter father brown there's our slide there's our kids inside about to go in my office slide about to go in get one side in get on the other side push and they're done where's our bedroom fly whyn't a flood a well-oiled machine by installing an awning on this one frederik flood everything has a place everything stages all your propane regulator oh you're flushing trim insulation gotta trim so this is the new modern maple its new or 2020 [Music] really like that lighter look [Music] [Music] [Music] I just finished putting the decals on this one looks like they're installing the edges of the slides as well as slide toppers free cleaning everything making sure all the trims keeps on moving down the line right here the world of selves you start to install the solar panels live you live on history right here it's already got a panel on top but some put the furniture in and they start taking them out though out the door so we'll be able to see ours go through that whole process [Applause] here's all the furniture states [Music] [Music] [Music] walk through kind of how they do this here and the options so most of the rigs that go out of here are very similar to the one right behind me but those rings are the standard Montana's they typically have a flat back cap especially just a flat wall [Music] and then on the legacy model which is what we're getting and this is our a do you have the folded what they do on the rigs is as they go through the line they'll go fill it up with water every tank all the black tanks the gray tanks in the freshwater tank and then that'll be at the very beginning of production and as it goes through production they'll just make sure it's not leaking anywhere after it comes out of the line they've tested everything inside they'll go in and actually drain all the water out this particular rig is gonna go to paint once it gets back from paint they'll finish installing the slide toppers the awnings and they'll do this check again to make sure that there are no leaks again pressurize the system they do electrical checks load test everything make sure there's no sparks or glitches or anything with the system so they they go through this thing several times to make sure there are no issues with it which is impressive especially with as many units as they do this for she's coming out of the Bay she's got some more work to do go to paint but there she is [Music] andrew is heading off to the paint shop today it's happening so we are gonna go watch that whole process or camera setup and see see how that goes once we're excited we're exhausted I get to go back to bed though so I can't complain safe driving good Thursday morning we made it to Keystone's paint booth it's currently 4:30 in the morning we get a surprise so I actually changed the paint color at the last minute we're isn't gonna go with cashmere which is more of a brown a little bit older type look just because it matches my truck there's no really liked it's a cobalt so called an audible at the end and got it changed thanks to Keystone for making that happen and that'll be a complete surprise to her when we get there all right so I'm at the front of the assembly line the paint plant so right here we have the units in the far back I mean directly from the factory this current unit right now they're standing it getting everything nice and smooth make sure there's no imperfections in there they'll start taping the windows this is the sand area a little bit louder in here though this section there standing all the front caps to do about 150 to 200 caps a day and then rigs they'll do about so again it's during their their break but gotta bring behind me right now getting the windows tape the wheels take everything that doesn't need paint just getting take they've got all their different standing mechanisms err cinders hand Sanders once they get through sanding it'll go to this stage will they do a final check over pretty smooth let's kind of prep the next two or three stations is Hayden morning is it's prep so doing that they'll go back and you see on this one where there's any additional information they'll have a mark with the tape go back and fix all those issues if there's any bumps snags any of that type of stuff they seem like they do a great job they've got all the trim taped off as will make your car go trade trim that type of stuff class everyone's extremely friendly here so that's exciting you see this side there's just caps and caps and caps for days he had the caps with the windows in them like the front I think their front living room from bedrooms the bathrooms they get a cap or a big hole around the middle to cap so once they get through a separate with that side the caps will end up getting washed before they get painted and then basically they'll pick a booth behind me weird my hand there it is put the pick one of these booths there are one two three four five of them one of them is strictly for caps I think the last one maybe for caps as well and then you have all the rigs in there so ours is actually in this Bay it just finished putting all the pinstriping on and everything it's got a base coat of white and then they'll move it to the middle stage in the middle stage the main plant manager will go through and make sure all the lines on all the none of the pinstriping are accurate with the slides out with the slides in making sure everything looks great I'm gonna do some quality assurance checks along the way as well then the next Bay is where it'll get paint so we're gonna try to get a time-lapse camera in there and see if we can't get the whole process of getting there painted so epic Thursday morning already we were in the paint booth it's getting its first basecode they've already prepped the windows got everything wrapped it will kind of walk through each stage as it goes through it's typically a three day process of the first day and will spin into the base coat getting the graphics in baked they'll start the next phase taking off all the protective stuff we were actually induced 12 right here stay in this line for the next three days as it goes down the process so we should get it out of paint Monday this should be pretty exciting [Music] so now they put the slides back out so they can finish all the shopping closer to the edge [Music] right now we got a couple of Quality Assurance personnel they're going around looking at all the pinstripes now that it's out the open they've got all the lights around the whole area up picking pointing out every little flaw and everything they're having the kids drop girls go back in fix everything right [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] this is not ours but this is the booth where they put the clear coat on you can see they have the lights everywhere up down sideways and so that they can look for any imperfections in the paint the free top-notch facility you see it's obviously clean well maintained lucky stones he sounds done a good job [Music] [Music] [Music] you [Music] [Music] good morning again made it to the Keystone paint shop day - exhausted it is currently 4:30 in the morning so going to watch a few more steps on the rig today we'll get to finish it today I think it'll finish end up finishing Monday but today they'll kill all the pinstriping off which will be exciting to get to see the colours could be more dull at first this morning and then middle of the day they'll do a clear coat which will make everything pop and Monday's sanding buffing that type of stuff finishing so should be an interesting day see if we can get some additional footage in the in the warehouse as well of everything that's going on maybe some other rigs that are in there to follow this is literally like unwrapping a present at Christmas [Music] all right we are after paint check out that color free thing right now they're going in and trying to find any imperfections there we go back up marking everything doing a great job a few way to make sure all the lines are there a lot of change at the last minute Jason resistor price Binda [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] to get you a present you change the color hey doctor the second we win hooked up to it never hooked right next to it and you said you liked it it takes it Rachel she said done to make it happen so do you like it oh I love it looks great that's your anniversary person yep ah excited [Music] Oh bye-bye bye-bye [Music]
