Slow and Steady

[Music] so all right let's continue this trip yesterday i loaded this hay down in the valley i ran out of time yesterday to take it over to the ranch where it delivers it's going over into new mexico to a pretty remote place so you can see it's all loaded up right there it's ready to roll truck's been running this time of year when it's as cold as it is you better uh bleed your your air tanks every night and make sure that you don't have any moisture in them or you're going to have frozen breaks but i got things drained off last night should be able to just uh punch my my uh air valves in and take off so let's see if we can let's go [Music] we're getting closer should be there in a hour and 40 minutes maybe something like that so [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay this is the fun stuff right here the dirt roads the washboardy roads the uh not really knowing exactly where you're going being in new country i've never been over here before kind of some big old wild country over here okay we've been about seven miles of dirt road it's not too bad we're able to run about 20 22 25 miles an hour on this road what's concerning me is everybody says there's a big old bad hill up here that you have to drop off of that is pretty steep so guess time will tell here in just a few minutes because we're just five miles away from our destination just a few minutes we'll find out how bad this hill really is i think we're to the hill right here we're going to start off of it right now it looks like it's like it's a little bit windy [Music] so so [Music] foreign hell it's not too bad and i think i can see the ranch house and the barn right off down there where i'm headed [Music] okay here we are just a little before dark we'll uh roll out of here in the dark but that's all right looks like we'll get the hay off before it gets dark and we're going right over there to that barn right over yonder okay here's what's happening i got all of my straps off and rolled up and uh he's got a good start on getting this hay off this trailer and we're about to shag it back out of here we're gonna be dark getting home but that's just the way it is they're pretty remote down in here i didn't i passed one car in the 12 or 13 miles that i drove down here past one vehicle not much cell service got to be pretty self-sufficient when you live down here have your fuel delivered to you buy groceries way ahead of time have some backup generators whatever it takes to survive down here [Music] well it looks to me like they grind a little feed around here there's some ground up hay in that shed right there and then right here they've got some some feed stuff that they mix [Music] in their ground feed that looks like maybe corn right there cornmeal and i don't know what this is [Music] smells pretty good in here though [Music] we're about to get it the race goes to the slow and steady not to the swift and careless this guy just goes in the same speed forward and backward doesn't miss a stroke about to get it all right now he's gonna spin those bells around so hey so if we were in town would broom all this off push it all off in a pile right here for them to pick up or do whatever they want with it but since we are like 50 miles from civilization we're just gonna let it all blow off so [Music] hey guys thanks for the new lid looks good flake out [Music] you
