Slight Altercation with Waterfront Homeowner on Lake Winnipesaukee

how's it going everyone at 6:03 bass bringing you a very different video than what I normally do before I get into it there's no clickbait no BS nothing this is straightforward it's just the altercation plus me explaining what happened and to provide a little bit more backstory in New Hampshire there's a law that any body of water that is over 10 acres in size belongs to the people of New Hampshire unless you own all the land surrounding it if there's any public access to by any means then that Lake is for the people of New Hampshire their only way you can have any exceptions that you know again under 10 acres or you own all land around it or a small caveat if you are a public body of water let's say when a Pataki for example and you yourself has gone and excavated the land out started from the shoreline and Doug's a big marina and let the lake backfill it in then what you dug out is considered private waterway and they can restrict access to that so about two weeks ago I was fishing Lake Winnipesaukee and I had a bit of a run-in with a lakefront land owner per se even though this is kind of in a condo association in this particular place I looked it up I did not find anything anywhere to say that this was privates I have already known that prior to this I went and double-checked as far as I know this is public waterway there's no signage even out front to even indicate or try to indicate that this is private waterways the whole reason I post this it's important that other anglers see that we should not be bullied by entitled Lake owners that think that they own the lake because they pay for some expensive piece of property that happens to be on the water's edge it is important that you know your state and local laws and rules regarding your waterways so one you yourself are not breaking law but - you know what you are entitled to as a resident of your own state and three while I probably could have handled this a little bit better in a couple of instances I think overall I handled this situation extremely well given the persistence of this woman as this whole thing kind of goes on for a little more than five minutes but every angler out there is an ambassador of the sport is all of ours duties and responsibility to make sure that we leave a lasting positive impression with everybody that we interact with because we're responsible for what we ourselves do but we responsible for bass fishing as a whole what I do reflects poorly on everybody else if I do something extremely negative so that mines this interest gone on long enough I'd like to know what you guys think about how while I handled it or maybe maybe I didn't handle it as well as I thought I did love to hear what you guys think thanks for watching I'll catch the next video now okay yeah we can we'll give you a respectful space on the boat I understand and I'm very respectful of other people's property I know you've had run-ins with bad people in the past but I'm gonna show you a TV huh always a pleasure boater that explains a lot we will once we're done I understand it's a private marina but the body of water itself cannot be did they dig this entire but with all due respect ma'am if you understand in Hampshire state laws we have every legal right to be in here but the until I step on your dock I am legally allowed to do what I'm doing yes I am why not in my parked here am i anchored am i tied off but then I would be doing something illegal I would be so happy if you did that because I would love for them to come down here and educate you good luck and I look forward to this it's gonna be fun I'm five feet away from it and I'm not moving well that difference of opinion my boat I'm drifting away for you I'm sorry you're the one that approached us this is Lake Winnipesaukee I have every right to be here then you should understand the rules of where you live that's your personal opinion ma'am that's not the law that's your opinion exactly and I understand it makes you upset but we were fishing are really fine NIMBY okay and on my backyard right you know what I'm sorry but no I'm not going to leave I'm going to continue fishing here because I every legal right to do so when I'm done fishing I will as you can see I this entire time since the moment you came down I have been moving away from your boat okay and I understand that I also don't want people to buzz me when they're doing 50 when they come within 50 feet of my boat but I don't get the way I want either that's just the way and I respected you I've moved away from the boat after I've done fishing no ma'am and I'm still would you hide would you like me to go tell your neighbor that like don't don't get anywhere near my boat ma'am you have a very poor attitude I'm sorry about that you have a wonderful day [Music] well there's a nice big fish in there some come back in five minutes to catch them again they're gonna need this know what your stupid neck over a nickel rig spoke too soon go smoke too soon damn this is why we came back hold that bailout just like that that's all right you know what not huge but Oh another one it's alright so we need number three we tied three all are you at four we should fire up the outboard and knock her all over and take off that would be funny

She was actually pretty chill about it. In the end she was just asking if he could move away from her particular boat, and he didn't want to. You have a legal right to let the door slam in front of people instead of holding it open, but you might be an asshole.

By the end of it the lady did kind of turn around and ask nicely. I would have moved after hearing her genuine plea at the end. I even heard a please. Not everything is about if you can, sometimes its should you. He could keep fishing like that, but if it makes someone uncomfortable maybe he shouldnt.
