I'm Chris Hansen right now on crime watch Daily from here in New York two pretty sisters moved to America to escape the dangers of Hades they were wonderful girls but tragically violence follows them to their new home in Boston two people being shot downstairs like it was a piece of meat that they slaughtered a blood bath at the crime scene the gunman doesn't know it but someone else is hiding in the apartment what did she witness did the victims know they're killer she would call Judith pleading please don't kill me don't kill me crime watch Daily's Michelle sigona joins the US Marshals trying to unlock the mystery I'm from crime watch Daily are you helping him in any way get out of my face plus a new Elizabeth Smart investigation a popular frat boy and the Sorority Girl Who says he put her through 6 hours of pure hell I saw darkness in his eyes like he was possessed I was so afraid after surviving a horrifying sexual assault at Utah State he said I'll win tonight and we both know that she learns she's not his first victim five women prior to you had come forward why wasn't this serial Predator stopped it just blows my mind right now Andrea iser with crime watch Daily Jason mat with crime watch Daily this I'm Elizabeth I'm here with crime watch Michelle from crime watch Daily Anna Garcia from crime watch is crime watch Daily stay off my property we'll find you again we always do welcome to crime watch Daily everyone I'm Chris Hansen today we are joining forces with the US Marshall service to try and help track down one of the men on the list of the 15 most wanted it all started in Boston and that's where our Michelle sagota is now Chris the Emil sisters traveled from Haiti for a better life but sadly the violence they grew up around would follow them right here to this Boston Neighborhood two pretty young sisters they were wonderful girls murdered execution style like like piece of meat that the slaughter caught in the middle of the gruesome blood bath a terrified 2-year-old has blood splatter on her what the killer did it know was there was someone else hiding inside the apartment she weall Judith plead please don't kill me don't kill me now US Marshals are on a desperate Manhunt for The Fugitive they say is so evil he's been named one of their top 15 Most Wanted he could be anywhere and crime watch Daily is closing in on where he may be hiding their family believes that your family is helping him is that true violence was something sisters Stephanie and Judith Emil thought they escaped when they fled their home in Haiti they had come a long way for long yeah very long way it's very tough down there the Emil family 13 brothers and sisters in all moved to Boston with hope in their hearts of finding the American dream my dad came here to give us a better life um to be able to provide for his kids and making sure we have a good life 21-year-old Stephanie worked at a nursing home and wanted a career in medicine she would like light up a room she's the type of person that will walk in that room and everybody's frown is like turned upside down you can't really be mad at her 23-year-old Judith loved to cook and worked at a restaurant she was like the best little sister like every day like I woke up she like you hungry you want anything she was always taking care of you yeah always the sisters finally saved up enough money to get their own place and chose what they thought was a safe quiet apartment building in the heavily Haitian community of Dorchester by all accounts they were just great girls they wasn't troublemakers they didn't go out looking for trouble they was just more to themselves the two of them were very close very close yeah real close so close they shared Secrets nobody else knew in fact Judith was the only one who knew Stephanie was dating someone did you ever meet him I never met the dude once in my life Stephanie never talked about him she was like oh just my friend and you know I'm like okay I didn't know him personally L i' I've ran into a lot of people who uh who have said that they've known him they thought he had a few screws loose the family may have never found out about Stephanie's mystery man had it not been for these 911 calls two people get shot downstairs on the first FL this is a crime watch Daily exclusive police have never released these chilling calls before all this happen it's like two or three minutes ago you can hear the horror and heartbreak in the caller's voice so did you see anyone no you didn't see anybody do that when we get to the apartment we go through the front door I immediately notice a large pool of uh blood in the doorway leading into the bathroom Sergeant sha Dy says he's still haunted by what he saw inside the sister's apartment that terrible morning I see Stephanie laid up in the corner uh she appears to be shot in the back of the head and she has a toothbrush in her hand which leads us to believe she was actually brushing her teeth moments later detective Dy believes the gunman burst through Judith's bedroom door shooting her four [Music] times the thing that struck me the most about this was when we're going through the evidence there was actually a Bible that appeared to have been struck by a bullet which would have meant that she had that Bible in her hand when she was shot what makes the sister's murder even more disturbing Judith was killed right in front of her 2-year-old niece she was babysitting at the time there was actually a sippy cup off to to the side of the uh of the bed and when we located that child they had blood spatter on their clothes and on their face I'm just like how does someone even commit such a heinous crime in front of a 2-year-old what did this 2-year-old say to you she described to me how Stephanie was crying through her mouth and I'm just like that means she probably was bleeding through her mouth and she was sitting right next to Judith when Judith got shot so she knows Judith got shot in her head are you surprised this gunman this person without a conscience this mad man didn't take the life of your 2-year-old niece I was beone surprised surprised but also curious morala says she immediately wondered if the killer was someone who knew the little girl couldn't identify him her speech was kind of off so you really couldn't understand sometimes what she would be saying and I'm like this person had to know that she's not able to talk what the gunman didn't know was there was someone else inside the apartment who could talk your other sister was in that apartment yes the sister who we won't identify for her own protection was in another bedroom when she heard the gunshots she was in a bedroom which was across from the bathroom and she called Judith begging him not to kill her telling him to stop and he just kept on shooting she could have potentially been the a third sister yeah who would have been murdered y up next the bigger question what did she witness I think he was out of bullets and that's why she's still alive we're back with more of our investigation into the murders of the Emil sisters in Boston here's Michelle seona Chris it was a group through some crime scene two sisters gone down execution style while their 2-year-old niece witnessed the [Music] murders did you go into that apartment I went in an apartment a few days later and what did you find when I first walked in I see the bathroom door with blood splattered all over it crime scene photos just released exclusively to crime watch Daily Show the bathroom where cops believe 21-year-old Stephanie Emil took her last breath her blood was still on the floor just a few feet away the bedroom where her sister 23-year-old Judith was fatally shot a headboard I had bullet holes had mattress had bullet holes it was a lot how many times were each of your sisters shot they never told us from what I've seen it looks like he shot Judith a lot more than Stephanie you find out that they w't the only ones in there yes my niece was inside that apartment on the bed with one of my sisters that got murdered the killer shows some mercy and lets the little girl live but the toddler is forever scarred she's going to be traumatized for the rest of her life thankfully the gunman did not know there was another ail sister hiding inside the apartment she was in there she was in the house the sister who we will not identify still lives in fear of the killer she can't even talk about this she's not she does can't talk about it police say she was in another bedroom and awoke to the horror of gunshots and the blood curdling screams of her dying sisters she's terrified she can't sleep at night she's got numerous issues now over this and she's scared to death because we haven't located him yet sadly the surviving sister tells police she never got a good look at the killer so at that point at that point I'm just wondering who could it be and why that's also the question cops were asking at first police had no suspects did it appear to be random to me I thought it was random but then again I didn't think it was random two things didn't add up for Mela first why the murderer left the little girl alive and the second was a secret only someone close to the sisters would have known the trick to opening their door you would think it's locked when you go to open it you have to know how to play with the door knob and you have to be with someone that's been in that apartment to know how to open it police confirmed a crime watch Daily there was no signs of forced entry but who would want these sisters dead the thing that's different about this case is they're true victims they're they didn't choose a violent lifestyle they weren't engaged in any criminal activity and it was a double murder and their two young women um just going about their normal daily routine as the Boston Police Department began to collect forensic evidence the entire Haitian Community came together to grieve the sweet sisters including one mysterious mourner a young man the family is shocked to find out Stephanie had been dating you just had no idea I had no idea and he was at the apartment the day of the murder he came and grieved with us the young Haitian man's name is Jean weaven Jean Vier a local rap artist who lived around the corner with his brother he was there touching my mom calming her down it's not unusual for police to name a boyfriend a person of interest but there was nothing suspicious in Jean's past to indicate he was capable of such a vicious crime he had no criminal record um he he worked he's just a normal guy that you would meet on the street but as the Emil family prepared to lay their sweet sisters to rest comps get a tip the morning boyfriend is really an angry ex Stephanie broke up with him that right right prior to her dying yes do you know why she broke up with him I heard he had at some point told her that he was going to hurt her I think she was done with the relationship and and he didn't want to be done with the relationship but rumors aren't enough to arrest John weav Jean viir he was around living his life in that neighborhood yes he was living his life however phone records are enough to make Jean weav theier a prime Person of Interest they showed the jilted boyfriend is heating up Stephanie's phone just hours before the murders there had been some conversation and there had been some Mis calls cops believe a slow burn turns into a full-fledged rage then at the exact same time those 911 calls come in radio silence after the incident occurred there were no more phone calls to the to Stephanie from that number up next cop move into to arrest John jaier there's just one problem he's nowhere to be found he's basically your ghost right now and we team up with the US Marshals to catch him I'm from crime stale are you helping him in any way get out of my face we're back with more of our investigation into the brutal killing of the Emil sisters in Boston investigators believe they know who did it the problem is he's fallen off the face of the Earth our Michelle sigona is teaming up with the US Marshall service as they try to track him down this is the monster Boston police say murdered the Emil sisters John we Jean Vier he murdered two innocent girls who were just one is brushing her teeth and the other one's watching her niece reading the Bible I mean it doesn't get anymore horrifying than that police say his motive a jealous Obsession Mr weav didn't feel he was getting enough attention from Stephanie at the time police believe Stephanie Amil abruptly dumped Jean Vier for an old plane and when she did they say he snapped when you found out it crushed me killed me so this day still kill me phone records reveal Jean Vier began calling Stephanie nonstop in the hours leading up to the murders when Stephanie shunned him police say Jean Vier went to her apartment with a 10 mm gun and open fire his ex-girlfriend Stephanie was shot not twice once in the back of the head her sister Judith took four bullets all while reading the Bible on the bed to their 2-year-old niece she was spared a moment of Mercy cops don't think so I I don't know if he spay her life or if he just ran out of ammunition this was a incredibly brutal and horrendous crime Boston police charges Jean Vier with two counts of first-degree murder but when word spreads cops were coming for him Jean Vier took off and has been on the run ever since we believe he fled Boston you know in that time vicinity and he could be anywhere US Marshals are now on the hunt to capture the fugitive so dangerous he's just elevated to their most wanted list when someone is put on the United States Marshall's top 15 Most Wanted what does that mean basically it's an allout man hunt for this individual US Marshall say Jean Vier has has ties to Haiti Miami and Montreal but the Amil family believes he stayed close to his family do you think people in the Haitian Community could be hiding him out I think his family is hiding him out so crime watch Daily went to the home of his brother weav Jean Vier looking for Jean and answers we just got to the residence of Jean's parents and it looks like there's a vehicle running in the back so it looks like we got here just in time hi that's Jean's brother I'm Michelle from I'm is it is Jean your brother did I just say I'm no I understand but I I hope you understand that he's wanted for the murder of two young women I'm their family believes that your family is helping him is that true I'm all set did you not get those we were determined to get answers for the Emil family I totally understand but I have to get the other side of the story are you helping him in any way do you know if he's in Haiti do you know that he's a US Marshall top 15 Most Wanted and that there's two young girls who were murdered and there's a family that's grieving after 5 years Gentlemen Just that way okay we'll leave get out of my face with that we were forced to leave but we're not about to give up and neither is the girl's family what is your message to them that he's not invisible that one day we will get Justice he's a coward he torn apart a family knowing that he's still out there just worst knowing that he's still living his life is worst copsy if you do see Jean Vier do not approach him he may still be armed and he is indeed dangerous and their warning to Jean Vier we will not give up on this case he's on the top 15 list for a reason you're coming for him we are coming for him and we'll find him once again here's a picture of Jean Vier he's 6'1 in approximately 150 PBS with black hair and brown eyes he was born in Haiti but is a US citizen he's believed to have relatives in Haiti and Montreal although the marshals emphasized to us that they are not ruling out that he's still here in the US anyone with information is urged to contact the nearest US Marshall's office or this number 1 800 33612 Let's help get this dangerous suspect off the streets coming up the college frat boy next door turned Predator one of his Brave victim sits down with Elizabeth Smart to relive the night she was attacked it was like I saw the switch flip again I saw darkness in his eyes they were just black like he was possessed like a demon was inside him could the school have prevented the vicious assault next it's a disgusting Trend that needs to stop incidents of sexual assault on college campuses are at an all-time high and considering only 20% of victims ever report their attacks that number could be much larger so are these schools doing enough to protect their students are Elizabeth Smart has that angle and joins us now from her home state of Utah hey Elizabeth Chris this is a very personal issue for me I have dedicated my life to helping victims of sexual assault heal and today I have the story of a victim who was attacked by a fellow student and she wasn't the only target he had a face you could trust or so she thought I saw the switch FP I saw darkness in his eyes and he began raping me a horrific attack and a young woman transformed I had never felt so worthless thank you so much for coming our Elizabeth Smart sits down with one Brave Survivor as she relives the night that forever changed her life and reveals shocking claims about who she calls pure evil I just remember him shaking his head and saying not again Victoria hulet was excited about leaving her small Hometown for college at Utah State it was the first time living on my own and it was a New Journey to going from being a kid to an adult when you got to Utah State you decided to join a a sorority the Greek community at Utah State's very small so everyone kind of knows everyone and I made a lot of friends a lot of friends and soon one fo it's a Saturday evening in July in Victoria heru Bates and some friends from home are going out for the night one friend asks to see the sigma Kai house Sigma Kai did they have any specific reputation they came from more wealthy families they were very arrogant one of the first to greet 19-year-old Victoria and her friends at the fraternity is Jason relopez relopez is a former Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force and at 27 he was older by most college fraternity standard he is the sigma Kai house risk manager the one in charge of keeping everyone safe it seemed like they were in good hands I remember initially Jason approached me and my friends and he kind of was just really friendly and offered to give us a drink in his room and so we went in there there they all talk and listen to music then her friends from home want to leave so she goes with them to say their goodbyes on her way back to finding her roommates she runs into R Lopez in the hallway he asks if he can and speak with her in the bathroom did you think that was weird it didn't seem weird to me their bathrooms in the fraternity houses are very similar to locker rooms people are in and out so I figured he just had something he wanted to say and didn't want to say it with other people around Victoria says in the bathroom the conversation quickly goes from social to sobering he's like but I need to tell you something but you can't tell anyone and I was like okay like what's going on and he just said you don't know what I've seen he said I I've been to war and I I've seen people die and I could have had my head blown off I remember putting my hands up like this and I said I can't imagine like I'm so sorry and I remember he got very angry like a switch flipped or there was just something in him that was his whole demeanor changed and he swore at me and he said don't put your hands like that and he was like no I'm sorry I'm sorry like you're you're a you're a sorority girl you're very you're surfaced you wouldn't care anyways like it's fine no one cares about me I remember saying like if you need a friend I'll be your friend and he kind of just said like can I have a hug and I was like yeah of course Victoria gives RI Lopez a hug then the second we released he grabbed my face and began kissing me and I remember thinking I don't want this to be happening right now did you know you were in trouble at this point or did you just think he got maybe a little bit carried away but you could still leave at any time you wanted yeah I didn't feel like I was in danger not in danger yet but Victoria knows it's time to leave she tells R Lopez it's getting late she needs to find her phone and head out he said oh well you left of my room earlier when you were in there with all your friends Victoria follows her Lopez into his room there she sees a phone but it isn't hers I remember looking at him and saying this isn't my phone and he just said your phone doesn't matter I remember he grabbed my face again and started kissing me and he put me on the bed it was like I saw the switch flip again I saw darkness in his eyes they were just black like he was possessed like a demon was inside him and he hit me cross the face as hard as he could and I remember my face was just stinging and I like was in shock I had never had a man hit me it was scary I remember him pressing my arms down and saying to me do you want to know something I'll win tonight because I'm stronger than you and we both know that coming up seeing my reflection in the mirror of like my bruised body and like the blood and the cuts and 6 hours of hell and the battle after the fight doing something stupid when you're drunk doesn't make r he doesn't look like your typical monster but several women who know Jason R Lopez would disagree they say this college frat boy sexually assaulted them and one victim even claims the school knew he was dangerous but did nothing about it Utah State undergrad Victoria huet is in the middle of a living nightmare this isn't happening this isn't real this this can't be my life Sigma Kai fraternity brother Jason relopez has her pinned to his bed she says he will go on to beat and rape her for the next 6 hours did you ever feel like you even had half a chance to get away from him yes it was after the first um time he had raped me I heard my roommates outside the door help was close but not close enough I could tell he was getting very angry I remember him punching the metal of the bed and just grinding it back and forth he kept saying to me like they think I'm raping you they think I'm raping you and and I've been accused of this and he said I hope you know it ruins lives Victoria you need to understand it will ruin lives it ruins the life of the men who who committed the rape yeah within moments her friends are gone and and I remember feeling so completely helpless that my only chance of getting away had passed and at that moment I felt like I gave up Victoria says during the many hours of torture Lopez's demeanor would change on a dime he went from asking me questions about how many siblings I had and do I like Harry Potter and then he would just look at me and I knew and he would just pull my legs and he began raping me I remember there was one time where he grabbed my neck and began choking me um to the point where I couldn't breathe Victoria patiently waits for her opportunity to escape the last time he raped me I remember seeing him kind of falling asleep and I tried to get myself as far away from his body as possible then at first light and with relopez still asleep Victoria gently and quietly tries getting off the bed he opened his eyes and he said to me where do you think you're going terrified Victoria says to the bathroom surprisingly R Lopez lets her go and I think that was probably one of the hardest things because it like became real to me seeing my reflection in the mirror of like my bruised body and like the blood and the cuts and I had never felt so worthless and I remember just wanting so badly to get out of there I went back in his room and I said I'm covered and he said that'll be fun explaining that to your roommates he thought it was funny and perhaps even more sh talking before letting Victoria leave R Lopez had one last sickening question I remember him saying is there any reason you would be coming back to campus today and I said no and he said no like my bedroom I said no this will never happen again Victoria manages to walk out of that [ __ ] and into a new one the devastating aftermath I remember just trying to forget it and I remember thinking oh this will go away and I'm okay I'll be [Music] fine and I wasn't at all I was so far from fine what was it for you that made you decide to report what happened to you I thought to myself if he is to do this to someone else and I could have stopped him and I didn't I wouldn't be able to live with myself but Victoria would soon learn some unbelievably devastating news this was no isolated incident five women prior to you had come forward with complaints how did you find out about those women I remember this Greek adviser asked me do you mind telling me who who did this and I said to him it was it was Jason R Lopez and I just remember remember him shaking his head and saying not again turns out Utah state in the sigma Kai fraternity allegedly knew about other allegations against Jason R Lopez but he remained a Utah State student and sigma Kai brother I had this almost anger that they had knowledge of him being a predator and a danger and continued to let let him be on campus and be a part of the fraternity Victoria and Morgan kenowski another victim who says relopez raped her while they were studying at her apartment courageously pressed charges 7 months later the case goes to court regret the next day of doing something stupid when you're drunk doesn't make rape and it doesn't make agravated such Jason relopez ends up pleading guilty to some lesser charges but as part of his deal he has to admit to raping the two women his sentence just one year in prison he will be released this may it haunts me every day Victoria has now filed a civil suit against Utah State University in the sigai fraternity what is this lawsuit about and what are you trying to prove well the lawsuit is about trying to hold people accountable hold the institutions accountable for Victoria H's rape and we're trying to prove that Jason re Lopez this individual was known to be a sexual predator he was known to the university and we think known to the fraternity and students weren't protected crime watch Daily reached out to Utah State University for a comment it responded in part with USU is deeply disturbed by any incident of sexual assault we recognize the impact sexual assault has on the lives of victims including Miss huet USU denies that five complaints regarding Jason R Lopez were made to USU USU was aware of a prior Anonymous allegation of sexual assault by Jason R Lopez it is important to note however that because the victim had requested confidentiality and had not filed a complaint nor provided the details of the incident USU could not discipline Mr R Lopez instead USU took as much action as it could within the limits of due process we also reached out to the sigmak kai fraternity their executive director responded with while Sigma Kai cannot comment on pending litigation we can say that sexual assault has no place on college campuses today we will continue to work with our chapters and universities on sexual assault prevention and training efforts if they believed the women before me if they would have taken it seriously that he is a danger and he wasn't safe to be on campus and to be living in a fraternity and he wouldn't have been able to pray on women like he did to me how has this changed your life I lost a lot of things that night that I'll never get back and I've learned to see that I also gained things that night of courage and strength I think what you've just said makes all the difference between a victim and a Survivor I never want anyone to ever to have have to go through what I went through and so I'm not going to stop until I see changes
