I'm a bit late on covering this one since it came out when I was at my cousin's wedding but the Pirates planets in plunder update for sins too was released what all generously call recently while there's nothing quite as big as in the Titans and super weapons update get it big there are a few changes which I think are worth highlighting Amanda first the UI has been changed once again I mentioned it feeling hard to find what I wanted before with the icons while the icons haven't changed I felt much more comfortable with the UI this time I think this comes down to the much better organization of the buttons into categories on your main build bar rather than just being a line of undistinguished icons like it was in the last build so Green Space isn't exactly at a premium here so I'm much happier with this setup on the modding side I do wonder what any of this will mean for limits on how many ships can be added for example another thing I mentioned last time but didn't play around with much is the fleet organizer where you can select fleets using these buttons on the left side of the screen and even build with the fleet selected I thought I would like it in theory last time but now that I've actually played with it I love it it's super convenient and makes it way easier to see your compositions throughout the map I do hope it gets a bit more work on the UI side as well since I think it's a feature that should be highlighted almost as much as the planet Empire tree has been on the right side of the screen it being a relatively new feature I'm sure it's not in a final State though either so that's probably coming maybe I'm weird for focusing so much on this but I really like this Fleet organizer planets and Planet components got some major change this release with new oceanic planets and ferric Planet art updates I don't really have too many opinions on specific Planet components yet since I haven't engaged with them as much as some other areas though most changes here were just specific components rather than major systems overhaul or a new system but I do think it's worth saying that between some of these Planet types which only came in with the Forbidden worlds DLC in Sims 1 and the event queue currently used only for pirate rage but which seems similar and intent to the Stellar phenomena DLC random events but with much broader capabilities and The Wider scope that minor factions already have in Sims 2 which were similarly just a DLC in Sims 1. there doesn't seem to be any ground covered in sins one DLC being held back for just doing the same DLC again in Sims 2. I have no problem with Sims 2 getting VLC added in the future with new features I just hate when multiple games in the same series keep releasing the same feature as DLC for every Sequel and it's never considered a core feature like why can't I have a pet in the The Sims but enough about the Sims Sims Sims has the sense to silence my sincere concerns there on the other hand with the minor factions we've seen so far while they are worked more directly into the game's core mechanics which is a good thing I'm a little concerned this will mean they're less able to just be a wider assortment of groups you find around the map with more Niche abilities I actually really like that about the minor factions DLC in sins one and that's one of the reasons it's my favorite DLC and I will continue to hold out hope that there will be some unique minor factions that might be able to have some different ships from the main races we see in the game I'm not sure what the implications for the lore would be there like has anyone discovered a species that's not the Advent humans visari or whatever are chasing the visari so if it has to be one of them but like that's humans with a different set of ships I'll take that as well pirates in Bounty were given more attention in this version as the name of it implies with more raids tied to having a high Bounty and fewer raids tied to losing auctions there's also been a pirate mercenary base added for the Tec Rebels which is why I played as them aside from just always playing as them but while I did engage in some more auctions I unfortunately never got to build the pirate mercenary base because I lost my home planet to a pirate raid through absolutely no fault of My Own Ending my playthrough sooner than I'd hope because I underestimated their seed ships and they went between my defense platform so I'll have to give them a try later coincidentally this makes me worse than the AI since this version also added new AI logic to counter the pirate raid so if they could add that to me next time that would be appreciated too
