off the back of a weekend which sees another old firm game com and go and another win for Celtic and another title it seems for Celtic Celtic fans quite jubilant this morning there's Yan big Celtic fan he always describes himself as a big Celtic fan y are you 6'4 or you just a follower of Celtic passionately clemont is another false da is Groundhog Day um certainly the emphasis shifts now to the upcoming old firm Cup final at hamen when Celtic go against Rangers and we'll see who comes out on top then but in terms of the league title in Scotland Celtic on course for their 12th title in 13 Seasons but in Sky Sports postmatch Brendan Rogers had that and a bit more to say I heard somebody saying about uh Brendan Rogers G Through the Motions earlier on in the season now I get to work between half 7 and 8:00 every day in my life I leave the training ground between half 6 and 7:00 at night and then when I get home I have my dinner and I'll probably flip on the computer and look at more [Music] football now that's going through the motions I want to know what every other manager's doing cuz what is every other manager doing if I'm going through the motions so from a personal level I've been treated like a novice since I've come back here like I it's my first [Music] job however the the my principal objective is to make sure that Celtic win part of that is a part of the criticism and I understand that there's no doubt it's been probably the most challenging season I've had as uh as a manager um but we need to finish it well now and that's the plan does it surprise you Simon that brandan is suggesting he's been treated like a obious I'm not sure I'm actually you know like not sure what he means by that well maybe you know I mean I don't know what he means and so I can't qualify the reasons why i''d be giving that answer I don't know the questions he might have been responding to I've been very critical of him because I think his performance at ler last year was a poing um and I think he was lucky to get the Celtic job and only got it on the legacy on the league now I you know I don't care about his working hours if you're a busy four we can all sit around for 10 hours you know that's not difficult to do sitting around with your feet on a desk doesn't necessarily mean you're working particularly hard I'm not questioning whether he works hard no he brought it up he brought up his eke keeping and the punctuality and what time he gets in and what time he works so what I'm assuming most managers work hard are you not supposed to work hard when you're manager them is that what you're not supposed to do you certainly get paid enough to be working hard um and they've won the league so obviously and I've been defensive of of brend Bren as well I didn't think that the observations that were made about him when he made that observation to a female journalist were right I don't think he was being misogynistic I don't think he was being disrespectful I think he made an observation it subsequently proed that he spoke too different journalists the same way you might think it's condescending but it was equally condescending that but Jee Lewis I remember that yeah you were right you were right so I don't know what he's reacting to but he's doing what is he reacting to well presumably when you manage gam you're in at first light and you're out when it's getting Dusk and you're going home to carry on the thought process about football there's nothing new there is it every working moment when you're a manager you're thinking about football every working moment um my personal experience even I managed I think just short 900 games even to the end of that if we had been out for dinner and there was a l in conversation I start to drift off and think about what football issues I had it's it was with you and it made me I'm sure if you were to speak to my wife not not great to be around at times um that is a price on the ticket as Simon said the rewards are enormous I think I think he's feeling a we bit hurt that he wasn't universally welcomed back when he went back to Celtic park I think there was an element of the support that weren't having them and I'm sure after yesterday's the weekend's result um they're back on side with them but that you know I I I'll say this to anyone that's willing to listen managing Rangers and and it must be the exact same as Celtic it's not an easy job it is full on I would drive from Edinburgh along the aate get out to glasgo h a bit of traffic generally around about the Big Gas you know the Big Gas oh yeah heart Hill no no no no after that GL you're closer to Glasgow right and I could look to the left um and see Park head and I could look to gas big gas and I would get stuck in traffic around around there why is there a man on the floor crawling along just fixing things in here and I would I would get people your microphone I would get people showing their ass to me in their window I I got it every single day I went to work so it's just that like before you actually get to your place of work yeah it's full on and that that is a price in the ticket are working Brandon Rogers and I like Brandon personally is in Brendan Rog Brendan Rogers is in Brendan Rogers business Brendan Rogers when it suited him to lose Celtic There's an opportunity in the Premier League came up out he door he went leaving Celtic mid-season or certainly in in the middle before season when it's sued Bren Rogers to be unhappy with his loss at Leicester he stunk the place out to such a point the team that he was responsible for got relegated into the season so Brendan Rogers is catching a bit of shrapnel right now because not everyone's interested in his you know his $64 million smile with his Ivory nashes um to coiner martinan kism you know and people are making him accountable for some of the things that he does and says I don't think anyone thinks Brendan Rogers is a novice I think they question him he's not Beyond questioning he's not Beyond reproach he's not Beyond recriminations he's not Beyond people making observations because really and truly if Rangers had been anything about themselves they' have won this league they had the opportunity they did what Arsenal did last year which is go to go to games that they shouldn't have lost and shouldn't have drawn and lost and Drew but you're right Simon they would have gone to Ross County and won they would have gone at Den par Gman won yeah and then and then people could call him a novice cuz his team wouldn't won the league yeah I me and that is the small margins that define success and failure and it's exaggerated in Scotland because there's only two teams can ever win the league and they slipped up in two games that they will look back on and that'll be with them those players and the manager I'm sure for the rest of their careers also nice to see Brendon Rogers move out of his Perpetual Henry Kissinger mode of being a diplomat and show his teeth a little bit he's feeling he was feeling in a position of strength come out with it it looks like they've won the lead because they won so they're
