right well welcome to a new harry's garage video and yes i am back at silverstone auctions at cywell one week after being here doing all those cars in the previous sale but this is a dedicated ferrari sale because at sidewall aerodrome in northamptonshire tomorrow saturday the 4th of june is national ferrari owners day and in association with the ferrari owners club in the uk silverstone auction have put this auction on of ferrari only models there are only 22 cars to cover in this and i just wanted to have a look because there's one car i used to own in the sale and there's a few other stars dotted around so this isn't going to be a really long video we might just quickly look at some of the autumn mobilia in the hall as well but let's get going because poor old tom today is viewing day that opens at 10 o'clock and we are at quarter to nine on friday and tom is meant to get this video out by lunchtime today let's see if he can do it so i've gotta not yabber on too much but i'm gonna kick off with this ferrari testarossa here 1991 example and a model i know well because about seven eight years ago i bought a ferrari tester offset from silverstone auctions and i've enjoyed it ever since let's go and have a closer look there's nothing like if you've owned a car and then seen one in auction to know where you ought to look and see if it's a good one or not so this ferrari testarossa 1991 i can see from this one from the catalog 10 470 miles or something and it looks pretty good to me what i look for is how sharp the lines are and how the headlights sort of line up with a bonnet here and just tells me this is crisp as it left the factory as you'd sort of expect for a car of this mileage some things on this this is a 91 my car is 1987. so this has the bolt-on wheels which actually appeared people preferred because there was a little reputation for the bolt on wheels flying off at times which is not good the other thing i note this is actually had this should be black and this would be painted red and it's got a shiny horse on the on the front that is something that nearly everyone did to their testosterone period because they came out with a five one two after the testarossa and everybody tried to make their testos like five one two and five one twos didn't have uh black painted there this i can't get over the sort of history of this car it's last um full service in the book was 10 350 miles in 2013. so basically it's done 117 miles in the last nine years and it's i like the tesla rossa i'm lucky to have owned the kuntas testarossa 911 uh turbo 930 the thing about the testarossa it's a gt car it is extremely comfortable covering big miles at i dare i say good mpg after having my 911 turbo do 11 mpg as we went around spain these can hit the heady heights of 20 mpg but they're just comfortable airy fantastic air conditioning and good visibility out none of the contact sort of restrictions and i i just think they're a very good car to own the fact they sold seven thousand of them in period is not a downside because it actually means they were popular and they were popular because they were good cars this one i noticed as well it would have come with catalysts as standard in 91 that's why it's got this sort of protruding bit here a different sort of grille because that's where the cats used to sit but it's had an aftermarket exhaust which is a good thing and i bet it sounds terrific and it's been de-catted now the actual car itself let's have a look ten thousand uh 475 miles guided at 100 to 120 000 pounds looks really clean to me right now here's another car i know very well because this 308 fiberglass car i used to own and i i bought it because i i just never seen a better example than this one it was i just loved the past history of this the original owner was quite a an interesting guy because he had a he had a steel company but he also went hill climbing at weekends and he was yeah he raced he had a special racer but he also used to enter this in odd hill climbs in the standard car class and he used it every day it is relatively low miles i ought to just check i think it's about 30 or 40 000 miles but the vast majority were done by the original owner and then it sort of went to he sold it to a friend who just worshipped it and i just never seen one in this sort of condition what makes it really special for an early 308 fiberglass car is the wheels basically have never been restored so it's got the the original campagnola and script on it you just never see and they're smaller wheels everybody is updated these are 14 inch wheels which only the super early first cars had a blue interior and this white is sort of unusual as well and if you're sort of nerdy on originality and i'm sorry i am what i couldn't get over this car when i when i got it has the original number plates on it so this is 1976 or 77. so these are the original plates the supply and dealer combo depot limited i found in the history it even had the keyring from combo depot limited stuff you just don't get on these sort of cars i loved also the the carolina the horse had been so this car's been so polished it was now brass so the chrome's come off and really special single exhaust on it now these are carburetor cars so pre-injection the 308 fiberglass car and you've got a bonus with a right-hand drive car because that there sorry tom this this is where the engines breathe so you've got a massive sort of carb induction sound if you just drop the window they make a fantastic sound you think you're in a mark ii escort rally car or something like that yes so this i just want to check its mileage yeah total mileage today is 3 000 sorry total mileage today is 37 926 six so you haven't done many miles since i sold it and a guided estimate is 125 to 140 000 pounds it's a concord perfect example unrestored just don't find cars like this anymore i only sold it because i got tempted into a testerossa and i got a very good offer over a hundred thousand on it i sold that and then bought the testosterone about 50 000. unfortunately values have changed so it's a different sort of argument now but yeah a really nice balance and i've never seen one quite like this one before now i just want to show you this ferrari f430 it's got the f1 gearbox in it but it's in really good colors i think this is lovely to see one that's not red and it's got tan interior and this lovely blue outside and i think it's fairly low marge 22 and 22 and a half thousand miles like that hasn't actually got the exact mario today because it's just said it's going to have a service before being presented here but the f430 i felt was a big advance on the 360 that came before it more power looked in here 21 more power i didn't realize it's quite that much but 483 horsepower more than an f40 and it drove terrific i just they've done a lot of tweaks on it suspension it just breathed with the road better and it had this very clever electronic diff and the martino switch on the wheel and it yeah it was just a nice thing when it arrived when all sorts of bit detail improvements i've also loved this that frank steffensen did with the f-430 on the window that's it's badge and this one has those channels to dali wheels on it as well and the shields which were an option back in the day most people just put a sticker there but this actually has the seals and that means you get a different wing on it it's actually indented with those so that's why it's such an expensive option carbon wheel i can see clean looks like all the red has been redone the red cracker on the engine looks really nice carbon at the back here a very usable car a friend um he was looking for a car he actually sold his contacts and i said what should i get and i we got him an f430 loves it to bits and he's not a sort of car person but they're a very easy car to live with these and guided at 70 to 80 000 pounds that's to me is value and yeah modern ferrari works really well right let's see what else we've got here i'm not going to go into full detail on these two cars here but it takes this interest in this ferrari 328 gts so the gts means it's got the target top that then slips behind the seats is 1989 and guided at 60 to 70 000 pounds but if you look at this ferrari 360 over here seven half thousand miles from new because they built a lot more 360s and three to eight s gts's they're almost very the same there's 5 000 this is 5 000 pounds more than the 328 and it and it's an interesting conundrum which one is the better car that one's the classic the 328 but the 360 highly usable yes it's got the f1 gearbox but it's got electric hood that doesn't really break and things it's a tough choice but uh an interesting one both both of those cars are in the auction now this is a completely different car over here now i wanted to show you this one this is 1974 ferrari 365 gt4 bb and this is unrestored and um yes the guy who obviously owned this for a long time went to singapore came back and it's actually being sold by the family because he's uh so sadly no longer with us but it's lovely to see a super original one of these this was brought out to rival the um well miura at the time when they thought then the kuntas and this was their first sort of mid-engine car and i do like the early ones there's a there's an example i'm going to show you inside the hall there in a bit closer detail but just show you this one because it's um to be restored it would be a very interesting project it won't be the cheapest restoration or you just drive around like this but i do like the way it was always black on the sort of tideline down there that was always black knock on wheels and around here it's uh it's put this detail that just defined the car with the individual the three lights and the three exhausts each side as a kid the thought of six exhausts on on a ferrari this car was just a rocket ship it wasn't actually a rocket ship but these early ones a carburetor fed and they revved much higher than later examples that then went injection because of emissions and things but there we go that's that's um lot this ferrari 365 gt4 bb is a lot three seven two two and estimate is one seven five two two five i think it will be yeah one sixty one seventy i would have thought that might sell for but uh there you go all original got original keys on it and thing uh with it as well all the handbooks etc what else we got here oh six one two now always enormous these cars they looked enormous in periods and they still look enormous um lot 709 service records festoon were the best names in the business maintenance bills in excess of 30 000 pounds in the last 10 years how many miles it's done 37 000 miles yeah if you want a big gt they they work well and they're they're sort of affordable there's a four five six over there as well we might have a quick look at there's no sort of known faults of this that they drink fuel they're very elegant and they don't fetch a huge amount of money 58 65 000 for one of those right this is this ferrari 456 gt now it's a manual and it's left hand drive and it's in this blue that was extremely popular at the time of launch this is a very early car can see inside it's got three spoke wheels it hasn't got the airbag wheel which is a positive and it just looks terrific that good change in the gated gear change in the middle of this seat number of times i've nearly bought a 456 when i first saw it i was actually in monaco and it pulled into pet station i remember just chasing it to see it and it was just an incredibly fresh design from ferrari when it first came out um it looks under wheeled now i suppose but it's still a very elegant pin of arena design this one let's say 95 000 kilometers i can see a little it's a bit flaky i can see a bit of rust there you can see that all this is sort of worn off stone chips on there so it hasn't been sort of prepared for sale but then again it's only guided at 35 to 40 000 pounds and in november 21 had a comprehensive service with uh sadali italia for eight and a half thousand pounds so it's all been sorted yeah if you want a cheap four five six well there you are or what about this i really like the um three 355 especially in non-red again this is um nero black so this is a metallic black with a tan interior i can see it's a the side bolsters of the driver's seat are a bit warm left hand drive weirdly it's still got the plastic cover on the carpet so i can see on the seals but yeah the singing five valve engine on this one i don't think this one's too much money as well it's how many kilometers is this one done 46 000 conferences 28 900 miles this one has done and guided at 60 to 65 000 but it is a manual version of the 355 well i can just see now this is a little bit of rust coming here this is there's a interaction i think there's a bit of steel and a bit of aluminium and they do this a lot of 355's and unfortunately this one has done it as well right what we're going to do now pop in the hall there's a few more star ferraris in there i'm going to kick off with this ferrari california this is 2011 this one now when this car first arrived 2008 it was we thought this was a real departure for ferrari to another place what was this usable v8 front engine car they hadn't done one of those before it was always front end with v12s and things then along came this car i remember at evo i kept showing it just with the folded roof up so the metal folding roof just to show you it was also a coupe and it was a quick thing it was 193 miles an hour car three point something to 60 and it introduced a dual clutch transmission as well with the basically the f-430 engine slightly less horsepower not sure exactly how much it was 453 horsepower and now you know it's got carbon brakes on this car it's actually got the individual rear seats which is an option on the back you have to find a child with no legs or something to fit in there or i think they did a dedicated child seat in it i know people own these and now they've dropped to the price point where they are they really quite enjoy them because it just it works as a car and it has guided this car at 65 to 75 000 pounds i don't know if you want to use will ferrari for cruising and for touring it's not a bad bet or what about this the ferrari 458 italia this was a complete revolution when this came out we had um 430 before it again this introduced dual clutch transmission and a lot more horsepower and i just always thought these looked really sharp it was quite a game changer for ferrari this is lot 718 i'm actually looked at the details of this particular car 22 and a half thousand miles yeah this is yeah 562 horsepower knocking the door 600 horsepower when this came out carbon um brakes as standard on these and me along side a lot of other people been waiting for these to sort of dip in value and they never really have they've crept down to 130 or thereabouts 115 this looks super sharp the red crackle paint there unusual being in black and black the three exhaust at the back 115 to 135 000 miles they seem to hold their money very well now i wanted to show you this over here we looked at that other 365 bb outside this one is of quite a special car because this was owned by an individual from 1987 to now so 35 years of ownership and spent an absolute fortune on it completely different to the one outside and it really shows when you see it here 53 000 miles from new this one it it disappeared off to the states bizarrely for a bit of texas and then came back to the uk but it is right hand drive now what gets me out this car is it wasn't originally red but it was painted red very soon after it left the showroom it's proper color it actually left the factory app was blue metallic dino and i think this would be the spectacular car if it went back to that blue there is no body work to do oh it's a color change half the car doesn't need painting because this age of 3 6 5 gt4 bb was black underneath anyway so you're going to paint that bit get it back to blue this would be good enough to enter concord cars and with the history file a really special car i haven't seen one in this sort of condition for a long time and it's got the six exhaust as well what looks like an original number plate the guide has just been dropped on this i understand it's 185 to 240 000 so mike if you can get that for under 200 000 that's a very good buy and it's also of course the carburetor version this one and a much higher revving engine there's a 512 um bbi over there that's the later version of this they put injection on it purely because of emissions and things they didn't actually produce any more horsepower the fiery ones are these with the carburetors because i think they've got about 1500 rpm more they rev seven and a half thousand or something like that yeah quite a thing another car know well the ferrari 550 having owned one and done about 30 000 miles in the one i owned this is the world speed record version it was a limited run of cars they didn't actually get any more horsepower they just got some nice additions so they got these split rim wheels you see here and if i open a door you see they also got well these were optional on 550 very rarely fitted but the carbon seats they do recline etc and they got this roll cage bizarrely in it lever covered as well and a nice plaque down there as well the speed records weren't a high speed record they were endurance so additional 100 miles at an average speed of 190 miles an hour an additional 100 kilometers 188 miles an hour driving one hour average speed of 184 miles an hour so they weren't you know spectacular records but it's just nice to see one of these examples now this is yeah left hand drive and guided my goodness a hundred and eighty to two hundred thousand pounds it's done forty one thousand kilometers but if you want a limited run ferrari 550 there you go or what about these dinos now there are three dinos in this sale i'm just looking at one over there says chairs and flares there are the flares as they terminate quite extended wheel arches and a much bigger campagnolo wheels in it and then the chairs with these daytona seats like this you see here this car has had a huge amount of work to bring it up to this condition and he's guided a corner this is 1974 for gts two four six gts because it's got the removable roof guided at 400 to 500 000 pounds my goodness but they're very sought after chairs and flares and i noticed an autumn billiard we'll have a look at in a moment there is a set of wide wheels um for one of these models in their set of wheels if you wanted them or you come down here and then these are have not got the well the flares i'm not sure if they got the chairs either but this is a less flared arch on these ones so i really quite like this dino in yellow don't often see them in yellow this is 1973 car gt yeah fixed room no it hasn't got the chair so this is just a regular dino and it's a model i can remember writing an evo when they got to about 190 000 touching 200 000 my advice was to sell them because i just didn't understand why they were worth so much because they got v6 they weren't as quick as other ferraris and says now come 2022 i fully get why they're worth their money they are a dual-like car beautiful design and you're not buying it purely for the drive experience it's just the look and the detailing and it's just a lovely thing and uh i think it's very unusual to see one in yellow like this one that's 31 000 miles from uh new there claiming on this car and guided at 275 to 295 000 if you own a dino i hope you didn't take my advice when i said sell them when i get to 200 or this one over here now this is a gts so this has the removable roof on it body colored roof as you see here that clips out and can fit behind the seat this has got classic certification it's german rage and thanks to brexit you would now have to pay vat or a little bit of tax if this car came into this country because it's historic vehicle it's not the full 20 as i understand it lovely little door handles on them how cute is that really nice car and this one is guided at 320 to 370 000 pounds i'm going to have a quick look at automobilia and there's another star car over here i want to show you a quick walk through the automobile here i do like this f40 sort of painting here so it looks like the technical drawings those models galore there's magazines here but this is the really interesting stuff over here obviously some models around here an original size but i've never quite seen such a big sign of that and illuminated in yellow look terrific and then you come this side oh there's some things here i do like this this is uh nikki louder who is f1 card clay rex zoni i think but enzo ferrari there on a slightly faded enzo ferrari signature there all sorts of things look like there's fitted luggage in there there's book collections etcetera always have a look at the walter billy it kicks off i think at 11 o'clock the car i really wanted to show you is this one look at this ferrari f12 tdf when the f12 first came out we were pretty shocked by the performance it offered but this tdf took it to another level and it also shed a lot of weight basically it was a lot of aero going on with this car the back that's sort of blazing easy to see you at the front but you can you can see this sort of a vertical blade here it's quite an aggressive front on it because it's all part of this ultimate track version of the f-12 and this was a pretty angry car uh from orbs i've never actually driven a tdf-driven f-12 but friends who have driven it said they couldn't quite believe how aggressively fast this car was quite like the color on this one look at this little extra bit of air on this rear window and inside it's got these um detainer daytona trim seats but in a sort of alcantara as well even the uh i noticed the glove boxes disappeared and the aid of lightness and sort of carbon door cards as well and this throwback of the 250 gto these gills here venting out of the rear wing racer filler there as well this car is quite a special one because this is a a special color and it was done in the artilla this personalization and the first owner um it went to kuwait and because of that connection weirdly in this crazy market we're in it doesn't help its value but it only was there a year and then came to the uk i think in 2018 and this car is guided at 550 to 650 000 pounds i had a look before coming here there is not one salt available in europe for under a million euros just look at the miles of this car yet um 1275 kilometers which is 795 miles so nothing it's a new car guided at that price so i think there'll be quite a lot of interest in that one so there you go look round the sail there's so much here of this autumn billy i love this early uh print here this is a signed polo shirt by eddie irvine and uh michael schumacher is a real rush video what time is it now yeah five to ten so the public are gonna start viewing these cars in five minutes so tom has to get this edited out and hopefully this goes out at lunchtime but all details as ever are on the silverstone website i'll put a link in the video description and have a look there sale starts tomorrow eleven o'clock with all the um automobilia and then the cars at 2pm and there's going to be loads of ferraris here as well so it's a proper day out i think it's the biggest event that the ferrari owners club do in the uk tomorrow is the day saturday 4th of june you can watch the auction online it's on youtube both automobile and the cars moment 2 o'clock start but if you want a bid you have to register you do that through the website and you can then do a telephone bills or leave bids or whatever hope you like this video anyway quick rush round these ferraris coming up for sale tomorrow if you have well keep watching keep subscribing more videos coming along very soon
