what's up YouTube silver Baggins here and in this video I'm giving you five reasons why you need to be stacking silver dimes thank you so much for watching another one of my videos I sincerely appreciate it this video is all about silver dimes and why you absolutely need to be stacking them so I'm gonna go through and give you five reasons why you need to be stacking silver dimes this is actually $10 face value of silver dimes so it is a total of 100 I recently picked these up from Provident metals and I got a really good deal on them so I'm pretty stoked on that but anyway before we get started here if you're new to my channel please consider subscribing because I got a lot of really awesome silver related content and yeah let's get right into this so before I talk about the five reasons I just want to say this batch of silver dimes woman that I bought from Provident metals I bought them online and they were 29 cents an ounce over spot which is a killer deal they were on sale and it's just random they give you you know whatever silver dimes they got lying around here's a Mercury dime 1942 that's cool here's a Roosevelt dime let's see 1951 so yeah silver dimes are us dimes that are before 1965 so if it's 1964 or older it is made of 90% silver here's the 1963 looks like so 64 was the last year this is the year right before it so just on the cusp of ending the silver run there here is 1964 here we go so this is the last year that silver dimes were made in 1965 they started making them out of clad so this is ninety percent silver and also before I tell you the five reasons why you need to be stacking them just real quick I want to let everyone know that for to get an ounce of silver out of silver dimes a lot of people don't know how many dimes it actually takes and the answer is fourteen so one for dimes if you have fourteen silver dimes that's roughly an ounce of silver so we got one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen okay so this little badge right here that is an ounce of silver so pretty easy to figure it out if you're trying to buy silver dimes you can just divide it by fourteen and then look at the spot price of silver and see how close you are so anyway for this one ounce of silver here I paid 29 cents over spot which is a killer killer deal it was a sale on Provident metals okay so let's get right into the five reasons why you absolutely need to be buying silver dimes if your silver stack or silver pepper whatever silver collectors silver lover you you got to be picking these up so the first reason why you need to be buying silver dimes is because they are fractional silver and you can get them very very cheap but fractional silver is usually does have a high premium so if you were to go buy privately minted silver like 1/10 ounce rounds or quarter ounce half ounce whatever you would usually pay a very high premium for it but with silver dimes you get fractional silver at a very very low cost so it's a low-cost way to stack fractional silver and why is it so important to have fractional silver well if you're making transactions with silver you can make much smaller transactions if you have fractional --zz right so let's say you just wanted to buy something that cost a dollar these are all roughly a dollar they're actually worth a little bit more than that but it's a lot easier to to spend one of these for a dollar than is to try and break up a 1 ounce bar around or 10 ounce or for goodness sakes if you have only kilos of your stack you're gonna have a very hard time breaking them up to make purchases if you're gonna buy stuff with silver either in like shtf situation and world you name it this is just low-cost fractional silver so they are fractional their each one is 14th of an ounce like I said and so that's the first reason why you need to be stacking silver dimes because they're fractional okay what is the second reason you need to be stacking silver dimes you can pick them up cheap they have a low premium which is awesome when we're buying silver trying to get our stacks up we want our premiums to be as low as we can right and silver dimes they're one way to do that so like I said I got mine very very cheap they were on sale but usually you can pick them up for not too much more than that so you know I think their normal price that they come is somewhere around like 59 cents an ounce of response so it's discounted 30 cents an ounce over spot but anyway that's just that's really really cheap for silver and as low as you can stack it that you know you can get more silver in your stack so if you're paying lower premiums and you can stack more weight which is also a good thing so you just want to be stacking silver as cheap as you possibly can if you're a silver stacker or a prepper or whatever and you definitely want to get a lot of your stack cheap and silver dimes are a great way to do that with the low premiums I know they are fractional but a lot of times they're just valued like constitutional silver is so that's very very cool so that's reason number two they have a really really low premium okay what is reason number three reason number three is that silver dimes actually have a limited mintage there's not an unlimited amount of these out there in fact you could actually go and look and see how many were minted every single year and you could figure out how many silver dimes exist here's a cool one it's got some great toning it's a little beat up but 1952 you could pull out the red book and see how many dimes were minted in 1952 from all the mints and you would know exactly how many were made that year I don't know how many total total are in existence but like I said earlier in 1965 they stopped making them out of silver so you know before 1965 we have these Roosevelts then we have the Mercury's which looked like this these are the mercury dimes and before the mercury dimes were barbara dimes and I don't know if I have any in here I didn't see any off the bat I don't I don't think I have any Barbara dimes those are sometimes have a little bit of a premium so I probably don't have any Barbara's but that's okay we got a couple mercs mixed mixed in here which is nice so yeah limited mintage I'm not sure what was before the Barbara dime but usually that would have numismatic value even some of the Barbara's and be bought and sold for much more than the price at silver so we're talking silver dimes are mostly talking Mercury's and Roosevelt's so anyway limited mintage so that they can never make any more of these so they will become more rare in the future if you're stacking silver dimes they just it's I mean it's a limited quantity and they can't make more so eventually the more people that'll be wanting to pick them up the rarer they'll become and hopefully they will actually grow in value above the silver price but we don't know about that for sure but no one does it the future holds but it is just very cool to have something that is limited and they can never make any more of so that's cool so reason number three is that limited mintage now what is reason number four for why you need to be stacking silver dimes it is that they are very very rarely if ever faked now there is one caveat to that some silver dimes that have crazy numismatic value and if you don't know what numismatic value is that just means it's like a collector coin because it's either a rare date from a rare mint or something like that and so it has value mut way beyond the silver content but the ones that are just worth their weight in silver like this one right here it's a 1963 Roosevelt dime I think about how much money it would actually cost to fake one of these Roosevelt dimes it would be absolutely insane I mean you'd probably have to spend way more than a dollar to make a fake one of these and you'd probably make it out of copper and then coat it with silver and it could be detected by using the Sigma machines that they have at Quinn shops or even just hardcore silver stackers might be able to tell by weighing them or just the sound of them you know you can you can tell the sound of silver absolutely so no one is faking Roosevelt dimes absolutely no one unless it is a crazy numismatic value and so for that reason they're very very trusted people will trust these they'll all they do is they look at the date and they say okay that's a 1953 right there so that is silver and so because they're very trusted very very very rarely if ever faked then they're a great thing to be stacking because when you try and sell them if you ever do they will be trusted they will take the dimes off your hands no questions asked so that's always a great not reason to stack something absolutely so that is reason number four and what is reason number five the last reason why you need to be stacking silver dimes is that they are easy to store easy to store easy to handle so with this batch of silver dimes they just came in a bag like this I could just throw them in the bag no problem I don't have to worry about toning I don't have to worry about wearing gloves when I handle these I mean who cares right these are just they've been handled so much already they're already toned and beautiful and so there's a 1924 that's getting pretty old but in a nineteen forty two that's kind of cool twenty four and a forty two but yeah so you can touch them with your hands you can just throw them in a bag throw them wherever you want you can put them in a box you can put them in capsules you can do anything you want so they're very easy to store and stack which is super super cool and that is the last reason why you need to be buying / stacking silver dimes definitely so if I missed anything please feel free to leave a comment down below I'd love to hear from you and thank you all so much for watching if you haven't seen my series
