Should You Crab At High Or Low Tide

well Sam enjoy sir the old couple we're still in Mississippi we're in Bay St Louis now I found this pier we tried it out the other day and caught a couple of crowds here so we're back again today see how we can do we spend some more time here seems like we're the only ones on the pier nice yeah it's nice it's a beautiful day though well we'll get back to you if we catch any crabs let's see if we got our first one yes he's in there he is in there there he is our first crab I know that's a keeper oh yeah he's nice we're just using our ring trap stay off the fear because we can't reach it with our net and we're using chicken legs uh for bait these are a new traps it's always windy yes the water here only looks like a foot and a half deep three in that wire track too who's a keeper one's not you think two's a keeper oh yeah two is definitely a keeper yes yes that's a keeper he is he's definitely better be look he's trying to get out of there get out that's easy yeah oh you can't look at him let's see yeah he's a keeper he's four and I keep reading five and a half that's great how long is happening now that's not been down there long yeah and that one's definitely a keeper it's nice yeah well the crabs shut down that other spot so we went looking for another spot you know and we found a small this small uh Bridge here and it looked crabby it's his hand lines out and Rick traps also it's not quite as windy as up here right we got out of the wind a lot nicer and it got warmer yeah let's see if I can reach down when they see crabs on it oh I do too a lot of crabies down there we'll see if I can get them maybe they just try this that ain't long enough oh my God you think they're long enough yeah that one's bottom one this one's good oh yeah they're always yellow too oh we got your tape this time I gotta make a gate I've been talking every time we come I said I gotta make a cake I measure both of them because they're possible isn't possible there yeah he's short he's short yeah bye he's short dude quarter inch throw him on the other side where did we get the first keeper fry but this other spot S one thing is full of crabs yes I wanted it yeah that one that was definitely should I get the bucket yeah let me we'll measure them first oh he's definitely five what's that four and a trap that's unbelievable all right let's see if we get some Keepers now this is exciting oh my all these crabs first we've been to this spot this is a little spots just imagine if they were all big enough we'd have so many crabs sure that one's not big no those are our third spot that last spot had a lot of crabs but we only got one keeper there they're all small yeah he's possible he's almost Jesus not that one I don't know it looks a little bit fussy okay that one I'll grab them what is our second day crabbing yesterday was okay but there was no water the tide was way out one of our spots we couldn't even crab it was so we thought that was just mud there there was no water at all and the other ones still were real low so we only caught five crabs yesterday so we're back at it again and we're here at high tide so we'll see how we do okay Joy's catch the first crab of the day is it keeper handle keeper I'll bet you he is what do you want to bet you ain't gonna pay if I'm right you know what times if you're right if I'm right you gotta cook yeah what happens if Obama right I have nothing nothing who's right me right you're a quarter is short close you're really wrong and I'll get out of cooking I don't get anything let's get a crab dinner two that's a keeper yes you know what a keeper looks like yes yes it is look at him look at the size of him seven three eight wow here that's our secret spot crabs yeah wow that is cool hurry up and empty him well I got nothing empty him I go get the bucket here yeah I'll hold that up look at that the other one that's five and three quarters that's a big old crab so you think we can beat that let's hope so get a whole bunch of them in there oh what's in that one another big one tomorrow that one definitely is yeah oh yeah easy keeper nice oh my two that one keeper there's three of them in there yeah it's exciting look at this crappy that one big difference there it goes yes I said yesterday was different from yesterday this is a keeper let that one go yeah I'll bet again you let that one go that definitely was if you're used to seeing them big ones he only had one claw anyway all right Joyce let's even get bigger one oh what do you got what do you look like keepers they're definitely keepers oh oh no you just went right in the Box that was funny yeah oh that's a keeper he's definitely a keeper you gotta get some get some different things he's eating that chicken up that's brand new chicken everybody we gotta pull them in Faster I guess get them up get them up [Music] this is a such a difference it's high tide now and yesterday it was dead low water nope what's in there I see a big one I can see him from here I see it's yellow yes I can see it's super yellow yeah they're both they both are good they're both keepers okay catch a couple of them big ones got him God we got him give him up keep them up oh you get them you got him don't smoosh him I'll get him so we're doing good aren't we yeah how many got in there look at the size of that one I know all right this is so exciting got it that was easy adapted no that's not a keeper let him go oh yeah that one's six inch six six inches yeah we're getting used to looking these big ones now big trap it's got two keepers it looks like yeah sure does no I get the buckets I get it tell me I'm too slow okay see what you got [Music] no they're not Keepers we're fussy though there we go we're ready for some big ones what do you got oh you got looks like two keepers right here oh yeah they're two keepers look how blue it is it's pretty good a big one uh two little ones little ones either chicken all up thank you look what they did to that chicken drip the chicken yeah no time hungry crabs I'm gonna pull them in as fast as we can there's lots of little ones still but there's some real big ones so the little ones are eating the chicken all up there's no rest here there's no place no time to sit yeah we got plenty of crabs oh yeah we're all set now we'll get the big ones oh watch your feet with the Rope what do you got I see a bunch of them in the middle I know [Music] okay Joyce get a crab what you got well that's a keeper I could see it oh at least six inches here come that wind look at that wind so nice this morning oh it was great crazy wind that's a keeper oh yeah he's definitely oh yeah he's probably big enough okay pretty color I said we got a crab you gotta cry yeah one for the bucket ew it looks like a one for the bucket yeah yeah this one's like at least six and a half seven inches oh yeah he's he's a monster hey we're doing great today great looking ate that chicken up yeah that's it nice great big all right get one in big one Joyce what do you got you got a joy size yeah he's a keeper shot look at it sorry you want to bet again no you don't want it back all right you're gonna get a big one this time there you did they're the big guys there's a big lot though the Nets found I gotta fix that now yeah that's a nice one he's so nice so you got the swim fin this trap there you go somewhere pretty nice size projects don't get me get me all right we'll catch more soon we'll call it a day keep them up lift it up you're gonna lose this one I need a keeper well the crabs ate our chicken we're down to the bones oh is there a keeper that's a keeper that's a laugh a little bit of chicken left that's why so we're gonna head back to our room but before we go there we're going to cook a few up for dinner we got too many crabs today we got like 26 crabs today and this one's like seven and a half inches point to point that's one of the biggest ones we caught around here and this one's just about seven this one here so there's some really nice crabs well we caught 25 crabs today and we had five yesterday we put on ice not really on Ice we put a towel down put the ice under them if we get them down that water they get lethargic and they'll drown and you know all the five we caught yesterday were alive today so we caught the five yesterday and we had 25 today so we have 30 crabs so we're great that's great in it yes yes so we're cooking 10 of them now for tonight's dinner and tomorrow we're going to cook the other ones and uh pick them all to see what Joyce can make out here in the field take up something we'll figure something out yeah and we'll get these cooked they're all clean so we'll get them cooked and get back to our room and we'll just have steamed crabs tonight with whatever vegetables carrots carrots we like carrots they're easy to just boil them up right right then we'll get another croissant where we're staying and we'll make a sandwich again but yeah they're good-sized crabs the ones today were actually bigger yeah right put some Old Bay on there these were actually steaming these it's nice got a new steaming pot steaming pot we're out in the field favorite subscriber our son yeah whoops I forgot one I didn't I didn't clean his lungs off and pull his eyes off well they're the gills a lot of people they call them gills they are technically their gills but a lot of people call them lungs and if you Google it you get lungs and gills or the devil's fingers don't eat them yeah but they're not poisonous like they said no it's not something you would eat yeah garlic that was a great day today they're as fast we caught so many crackers with a lot of little ones we put we didn't put them all in video but there is a lot of crabs cool set the timer for 10 minutes crabs are done that's the only stove you need you need a new stuff right cook everything they taste the same well we did have two when like I said both of them got destroyed yeah yeah I think I can fix one I'm gonna put the tongs away maybe we'll do some fishing and have something different besides eating crabs while we're here all the time yeah maybe catch some fish still because there's nothing wrong with crabs there's nothing wrong with these yeah you like we like crabs better when you have a homemade roll we got get the croissants that's fairly fairly close so yeah I got meat look at that one that's good but we'll see when we get back to the room we're back in our room with the crabs we cooked and we're gonna make a sandwich out of them I love a croissant and we're going to pick and eat the rest of them just picking them and they were just made we got that in the bakery down there and most normal people would be eating in a restaurant but not us you know we're not normal are we no I'd rather be here no we'd rather sit there in a room eating our crabs but yeah but we cook them on the tail cake we don't cook them in the room or anything they're
