let's go to first samuel 23 and 12. i'm gonna read uh well let's go to first samuel 23 and 13. i'm going to give you two verses i'm going to expound a little bit and then vaughn and rhys are going to help me put some pressure on the moment and we're gonna see what god's gonna do first samuel 23 and 13. here's what it says so david i'm in the new living translation so david and his men about 600 of them now that is significant left kela and began roaming the countryside word soon reached saul that david had escaped so he did not go tequila after all and david now stayed in the stronghold of the wilderness and in the hill of the country of zipa and saul hunted him saul hunted him day after day but god did not let saul find him father thank you for your word thank you that it is life thank you that it is instruction thank you that it is supernaturally going to create expectation in your people thank you that your word is like a compass that will lead us into the next dimension of glory and favor thank you that your word is like a fire that we do not have to freeze in the confusion of our own concepts thank you that your word is like a hammer that it would break open fallow and hard ground thank you that your word is like water that in a dry and barren land we can come and drink of the well and we can come and be whole in jesus name we pray amen before you're seated look at somebody and say should i go should i go should i go that neighbor's a little nervous turn behind you and just say should i go should i go you can be seated should i go that's what we're going to talk about here for about 35 minutes if you'll let me walk you through the introduction theologically i believe that you're going to be blessed by the prophetic punch at the end should i go we find ourselves in this particular narrative because david and saul's journey has kind of turned over to this particular boil and saul was a man who was really the people's choice and because he was the people's choice god had to tell samuel don't take this personally but they want him it's it's not against you prophet it's really about what they don't want me to be to them and as saul began to come into his powerful reign as the king uh he had some prophetic encounters and if you remember the text just brief introduction if you remember the text you'll find that saul finds himself getting amongst the prophets and when he got among the prophets he began to prophesy like them and that really just gives us a window into the power of proximity that what you don't have on your own if you get around the right people it'll get on you and and that's really a place where we've got to be careful in the kind of relationships that we find ourselves being engrafted into because whatever is dominant in that group will ultimately at some point become dominant in you and so saul gives us that kind of narrative as he gets around the prophets and samuel is very clear to him that i'm going to give you the shoulder part which is a governmental piece of this particular feast of your coronation and that feast is going to announce to everybody that the oil is coming on you to be what you're supposed to be and then something unusual happens to him as he is moving in his kingship and as he's becoming and as he's finding all of these different opportunities about what reigning entails he then finds himself in an unusual predicament darrell as he as he's moving into a time of war and and it turns around and he looks and he sees that the prophet samuel is late and right there we judge saul harshly but the truth of the matter is all of us at some point in our christian journey have wondered why the prophetic was late i had a word in my life i had something that was coming to me i had promises over my head and now i am at the place of decision and the prophetic opportunity that i was depending on has not shown up to the moment and so saul finds himself in this seeming contradiction where he is now faced with a war over win w-h-e-n the time clock is ticking because of the people that he's connected to are putting pressure on him to do something that he is not called to do please be careful putting pressure on people to do things that they were not called to do please be careful bowing to the pressure of the people that you love that are patting you on the back and and what i have come to find is that we use terms of endearment to build up self-esteem in order to make people feel better about what they really aren't case in point all right prophet you got it bishop come on apostle and and we say these terms to build somebody up because they have low self-esteem and it and we mean well and we're trying to encourage them but when you keep offering somebody a shot that is going to make them intoxicated about a title and an office that they do not have that drink will be so strong you take a couple hits of it and you will believe what they said that you are and sometimes you people are walking around declaring things in inspiration that they do not have the authority to make hell bow to i don't have time that was another sermon but you got to be careful trying to operate in something that god has not asked you to just to fit into something that you weren't even called to be in the first place god give us men and women that are secure with not being in the in circle if it means that i'm in your covenant hallelujah god give us people that are secure about manning down the place where you planted me even if i'm not offered another opportunity in smaller circles what i'm trying to convince them of is that if god put his hand on you to become whatever it is you're going to become come out of the idolatry of wanting to be what your neighbor is look your neighbor in the face and say i'm not you yeah i'm not you i'm not you and i'm not going to be here and no matter how popular you are i can't step in your shoes cause that armor's not going to fit me i got good i don't know if i want to say it i got good gospel news for you when god has tested you in the armor that you have worn and you have slayed devils and you have put off straight jackets and you didn't lose your mind and you came into your own confidence don't you put on something that's shiny on somebody else that season fit you for the warfare you were in but if you don't tell jokes don't come up to the mic trying to be a comedian if your job is to intercede hold that thing down on your knees until something breaks throw your head back and say i'm gonna be what god called me to be amen but saul finds himself intoxicated off of pressure it's it's been too much for brother saul and uh he says i know samuel's supposed to make the sacrifice but we can't wait no longer so what i'm going to do is i'm going to make the sacrifice because i've seen him make it many times and it can't be that hard be careful looking at what comes easy to someone assuming you can duplicate it because you can mimic it one of the curses evan if we're not careful is youtube watching what somebody does under an anointing and then memorizing the script as if all you need is a memorized tongue to announce a mandate you haven't suffered for can i just push the gas i want to try the ferrari i get to dry the car today can we just be careful about things that we have not studied for ourselves let me just put your study aside be careful attempting to snatch a season you ain't served for in a generation now that i think the pandemic has birthed that all you need is cell phone facebook account and a live button be careful not to fall into the intoxication of walking in something you haven't served for yet so saul finds himself making a sacrifice and samuel walks up to him and says amen you're not supposed to do that i'm supposed to why are you trying to be me why god called you to be the king and and god was even though you weren't his original choice he was so going to use you that if you would have loved the lane that you were in he was going to establish your throne forever meaning some kind of way jesus the son of god was going to make his way because it's all about the seed honey it's not about the man you understand that the seed reveals the savior and if saul would have bought into that he wouldn't have tried to be something else trying to ascribe glory unto himself lord jesus christ i just told you the seat reveals the savior not the personality [Applause] so samuel looks at saul and he says man you really messed up and uh you know unfortunately while you were trying to become somebody else you left your position and god wouldn't found somebody else he found a man after his own heart now you can stay in the palace a little longer but but just because your replacement hasn't shown up yet don't mean that you're still going to be king and so saul begins to argue and please no please no and he snatches his robe and samuel prophesies just as i have yanked this a part of you so god has snatched the kingdom from you and here comes david on the scene it is a part of the backdrop of the conversation that we are having because saul represents a spirit that tries to murder transition he didn't try to kill david until it was time to shift he didn't throw anything at him until david was announced prophetically that he was about to move to another city and become something else say amen it wasn't until that thing took place on the announcement through prophetic oil that all of a sudden a spirit called saul raged in that man read your bible saul was not personality trying to kill him a spirit rested on him it was one that made him mad it was one that made him murderous it was one that made him want to kill mandates it was a spirit assigned to murder transition and and now threats javelins curses prophets murdered blood in the street saul is doing everything he can to destroy david now the interesting part about that is because david still has enemies called philistines and it's really challenging when you've got to fight the devil and people who god used to talk to but but this is where you and i have got to mature a bit in the spirit i'll cast the devil out and fight these devils but when it comes to saul i'm not going to touch him now hear me saul had a spirit in him that didn't look like god but david said i'm not going to touch the lord's anointed because if god was ever with him then i'm not going to subliminally tweet i'm not going to find a place of anger in a group chat say amen what i'm going to do is that if god ever spoke to him i'm gonna make sure that i don't ever contribute to the demise of what god ain't talking to no more lord jesus look at your neighbor and say drop your weapons and flee no matter how offended you are by the empty seat next to you if god wow has ever done anything with any of your enemies instead of you firing back take a step back find a place of intercession and say i will not draw a sword against anybody god had once loved one day the news came to david i'm in verse one i'm gonna walk the text give me i'm out of here one day news came to david write this down if you're taking notes you're watching online put this in the comments one day news came to david all of us have scheduled on our calendar one day when the news will come to us i don't know what your news is i remember where i was when the news came to me about zoe i remember where i was when when my knees began to clang together in fear keep living because one day news is going to come to you yeah the news came to david that the philistines were at kela watch this stealing grain from the threshing floor why is that significant it's significant because clearly the city of kela was in a time of harvest and harvest always attracts robbers and thieves when you are in a season where harvest is showing up all over the place there is no need to cry over warfare that is taking place over the harvest whenever you come into that kind of condition just know you are living in prophetic fulfillment because jesus said that there is a sower who sows the word and when the word falls on a type of heart the adversary comes to steal the word so hear me if harvest has been prophesied and the person next to you has received a miracle and it feels like your life is going through hell rejoice because the adverse effects of what's coming against you is nothing more than confirmation that the seed is about to bud i said the seed is about to bud i said the seed is about to bud now right there you know them little collapses to them little kfc claps that you just gave me amen see right now the people that are leaping on the inside of themselves are the people that have sown seed into the ground and i'm not just talking about monetary seeds i'm talking about the seeds of your tears with nobody around and nobody to pat you on the back i'm talking about the seed of being misunderstood and you didn't even get to explain the part of what you went through and you had to bite your tongue until your blood came down the side of your chin there's seed in the ground take eight seconds and thank god that you got seed in the ground all of the people that are standing give god praise for the people that are sitting come on without the music real quick you got seed in the ground 2019 was a seed 2020 was a seed 2021 was a seed i endured hardness as a good soldier i have seed in the ground tequila is a city that has seed in the ground david asked the lord shall i go and attack them should i go and do it lord i'm so grateful that david left us a heads up that before you go and do anything you ought to ask the lord can i go well i'm almost out of here before you start anything company business prayer line prophecy line evangelistic excursions whatever you feel led to do can you please before you go any further at least ask god can i go just because it makes good kingdom sense doesn't mean that it's your season to step out on nothing especially whoa if you are not submitted to what god told you to do before god does not overlook disobedience to give out assignments that fit comfort a little bit better what god will do is when you ask him and you say nothing he'll send you back to the last place of your disobedience can i go that's why we don't ask we got incomplete assignments and when it feels like come on you've been in school before you know them questions that you skipped over because you had not put enough diligence and study to be able to answer a question that pulled you out of your academic comfort zone so it is in the spirit when god told you to i'm concerned that we have so many sermons and very little forgiveness how you gonna preach to people you can't stand and then blame it on the call of god as if i just ain't got no choice but to preach the devil is a liar okay should i go should i go our hearts are a type of kilo right uh you are a light of the world a city that is set on the hill that cannot be hidden we are a type of city and we are a type of harvest that is coming into kingdom expression verse two let's walk the text david said shall i go watch this yes go save kela the lord said to him buckle up here we go david says god can i do it god says yeah man go you go and save kela go and save kela read the next verse here comes trouble but david's men said we're afraid even here in judah we certainly don't want to go tequila to fight the philistine army hear me god told david go the people connected to david said we are afraid of that transition and although it's god something about david's delivery made them not believe that god was going for them because sometimes when you calculate more danger than destiny it will birth fear in your progression and you'll start looking at the timelines that make sense and you will deduce that the man got it right before but this call he has gotten wrong david heard from god but the men heard from david do you see the the tension in the text because david is trying to convince men of a conversation he had with god that they didn't hear but i can't take up for you that god decided to tell me what next looks like and if i was right before i can't get no help then surely the lord god that spoke to me back then is the same god that told me i should go but there is there is a bridge here that has been broken because the men have assumed that david heard inaccurately because our resources compared to the philistine army's resources of where you transitioning to go does not look like a win to us so they told dave we ain't going we are not participating in this conquest of a shift you on your own watch the next verse so david asked the lord again and again and the lord replied watch what god says go down tequila for i will help you conquer the philistines did you cat you got to read the bible slow in the first prayer of can i go tequila god said you go and save them when people disagreed over the prophetic word that david got david went back to god and said we sure about this and god said man forget it if they don't want to help you i'm going to go with you to deal with the philistines you ain't going to say amen god said listen son i'ma tell you one more time i told you the first time you can go and i was going to let them partner with the productivity but if they're too nervous to get on the train and go get the spoil then i myself will put my hand on this thing lay your hands on your heart and say god's going with us here's what he said i'm almost there i'm gonna holler in a minute i am i feel it coming now he said i'm gonna help you conquer the philistines let's walk the text i'm almost there i'm gonna help you conquer the philistines so david watch this and his men and his men they got on board at some point please hear me please hear me don't throw away those that don't want to transition out of fear no don't don't don't throw them away look at the seat next to you that's empty and say i'm not throwing you away i'm not the prophesy i'm not throwing you away because at some point the anointing of progression is gonna hit you and you're gonna get your hips in alignment and this is how you know you got a good leader that as long as you repent and get back in line we can all win together father father i declare in this space that there is about to be a collective wind that's about to hit everybody in this building not just in this building but you are watching online fearful of how to make your way back home i prophesy to you let's go forward throw your head back and scream we going forward sit down so david and his men went tequila they slaughtered the philistines took all the livestock rescued the people verse six i like this part you need to know this it's important now when abathar came to david at kela he brought him the ephod abathar brought him the ephod hear me the ephod in old covenant represents a type of the torah it's connected to the urum it's it's it was like a divine compass it was like it was like the opportunity to come in close to intercession and so when david sees abbathar coming with the ephod it is a sign of the indwelling presence of the lord it is it is the opportunity it's the communication lane of intercession that what's about to take place next is not by power and it's not by might but it will be but by the spirit of god bring me that ephod watch this he brings him the ephod and then something happens once the abiding presence comes and rests with david verse seven it's loaded read the text when you get home saul soon learned that david is aquila no let me say it again slow saul soon learned that david is at kela watch what place where god put him and is saying surely god has called me to put him out of his misery have you ever been in a weird middle ground where god told you to do something and then somebody else said god said that you're gonna fail and die no see this is where the tension takes place in the heart of the believer when i heard god say one thing and then now somebody is saying that god is saying the exact opposite and chaos begins to birth and frustration begins to burn watch verse number nine but david learned of saul's plans do you know the difference between saul's accusation and david's progression both of them are learners read the text saul learned that david was there and he said i'm coming to kill you david learned that saul was coming and david began to pray what's the difference the difference in the two learners is communication one was in love with opportunity the other was in love with prayer what kind of learner are you what kind of learner what kind i learned about this i found out information i heard about that you're a learner but what do you do with the information that you learn if you use it as an opportunity as the supernatural corporate ladder to climb the top and be the next then you're nothing more than saul looking for opportunity to snatch what you won't serve for but if you're gonna be anything like david david said when i learned of this i prayed and asked god is saul coming here take a deep breath it's gonna get a little worse before it gets a little better david asks god uh is david is saul coming to kela and we'll take a deep breath will the leaders betray me have you ever been in a place where you put your life on the line for people that are about to betray you i didn't write it i'm just reading it it's in the text david said god i want to know the the thing that's trying to stop my progression is coming after me is it coming here and will those people i sacrifice for try to kill me god said yeah it's all coming and uh yeah they're going to tell him where you are they're going to betray you lay your hand on your heart come on you need this say lord help me not to be bitter with my betrayers lord help me not to be bitter with my betrayers hear me the next season of god sending will only be for those that can save the lives of those that are willing to kill you we were shouting real good a minute ago i got a feeling all nations that in the next season of what god is about to do let me say it real loud those that are going to be next are those that are willing to lay down their lives for the ungrateful that would pour dirt on them instead of giving them a hand up how cold are you now they will betray you verse 13. so david and his men about 600 of them now uh if there's any preachers in the room you steal this and use it and preach it i don't care in the cave of abdullah he had 400 now all of a sudden he's got 600. hear me obedience always brings increase obedience always brings increase i was in a cave of despair but when i'm making my entrance into god's next he put increase on my back all of the people that are obedient just just pat yourself on the back and say here comes increase here leader roaming from department to department and i want to suggest to you as this thing sobers you up that sometimes roaming gets criticized when the truth of the matter is david was employing a strategy he kept it moving stillness and stagnation will not be my portion while i protect the mandate on my life hear me he did not leave his camp they roamed in safety watch where they end up they end up in the wilderness strategy number two the first one was he kept it moving number two he made the wilderness a win w-i-n every organization every church every person that loves god because of jesus the great commander will go through a wilderness if he went through a wilderness you will go through a wilderness but how you win in the wilderness determines what you carry out of the wilderness to your next season so he's roaming not running he's keeping it moving he finds a win in the wilderness here comes the next thing he does is he hides in the stronghold you know what a stronghold see you've been tearing down strongholds for so long that you forgot you can build them yourself that's a stronghold of intercession can be your portion and david remember he got the ephod i'm not stretching the texas right here david has the ephod so a part of being in that stronghold we can find a principle that when you are on the run for your life you can begin to guilt strongholds of prayer in your roaming season this is how you know that he is not trying to evade anything because of fear he's trying to build something and protect his mandate at the same time god give us men and women that will build a stronghold of intercession in the worst seasons of their lives everybody screams stronghold he builds a stronghold and as he's building that stronghold he finds himself in a bit of safety here comes as he begins to build that stronghold after kela he stayed there in the wilderness watch this and saul hunted him day after day but god didn't let him find him this is how i know that roaming was a reward see we think sometimes roaming is aimless but sometimes god uses roaming transition different shifts opportunities different terrain different moments different things that we have come into agreement with different things that we're coming out of agreement with different relationships new normals the way that god is redoing it the way that god is not doing it the way that god is saying it he spoke through the brook now he's speaking through worship and then he spoke through worship and now he's speaking through prayer and then he spoke through prayer and now he's using the evangelist kind of sounds like what paul said we go from faith to faith and from glory to glory but we have been so irritated with romaine that we have missed that sometimes roaming is a reward because god did not let saul find him and if saul would have if david would have said i want it stationary i want it like it's always been i don't want to shift into nothing i don't know why it's going like that i don't like it i don't like it at all and i'm not going to move until i feel good and ready i am so glad that david was fluid enough and flexible enough and he was not in an idolatrous affair with kela that he did not mind shifting with the next move that god was doing and because of his obedience and his willingness to roam saul couldn't find david here comes you couldn't find david and uh he says all of a sudden i'm roaming saul can't find me the next day at harash david received news that saul was on his way to zip to search for him and kill him here comes and jonathan went to find david because you believe it or not i know you're strong i know that you are full of might and power but even david needed somebody to encourage him hear me the next level of relationships coming into your life are the kind of relationships that are seeking you out to encourage you right there you've been you've been fighting so much you don't know what friendship looks like what i just told you is the next level of relationships for the people that have been in the wilderness for the people that have been under threats for the people that feel fearful and almost out of their mind the next level of relationships is called a joining together of jonathan's may the jonathans come into your life where they will begin to strengthen your resolve about your faith steps to the next level here comes jonathan and jonathan looks at dave and he says david watch the prophetic word hear me david don't be afraid my father will never find you why is that important because i told you eight minutes ago that saul represents a spirit that tries to murder transition so what jonathan is prophesying to him to build up the camp is that this wilderness on your way to the palace is not going to be your demise the thing that is coming to choke out transition is not going to be able to stop you from becoming what you're supposed to become and getting to where you're supposed to go david you will never be found by saul never never never no i'ma wait for you never he didn't say that you're not gonna have to deal with bathsheba and some temptations but saul that thing that's trying to keep you from even getting to the throne never that thing that's trying to stop you from becoming king never that thing that's trying to break your confidence never that thing that shows discord in the middle of the night never that thing that tries to make you fearful and back up never that thing that tries to make you throw in the talon quit never there is about to be a proclamation over this place that we are about to experience some things that will never be able to take us out all nations worship assembly of chicago i got a word for you there are some things that ain't never going to come by here there are some sicknesses that ain't going to never come by here there is some discouragement that's never going to come by here there is some depressions that are never going to come by here do me a favor in prophetic praise take nine seconds and thank god for the never the never the never the never the never your neighbor is not uncomfortable enough do me a favor and take a couple of seconds and thank god for the nevers i'm never going to lose my mind i'm never going insane i'm never going to be broke another day in my life i am never going to divorce my the nevers the nevers the nevers what's next never what's next never what's next never how things gonna go in the future we'll never know because destruction and demise will never be my portion take 12 seconds and throw your head back and thank god for a promise a promise a promise i heard the right sound all day i said take nine seconds and thank god for a promise i said thank god for a promise what was the major difference david got his army and said put on this promise [Music] never ever [Music] is that spirit going to be able to find you do me a favor and just look at somebody in the face real quick and i'm done look him in the face and say hey neighbor look him in the face and say hey neighbor i'm not going to touch you but i'm going to look you in the face behind this mask and give you a prophetic word the prophetic word is this what killed others will never touch you look at him in the face and say what made others throw in the towel it's never gonna make you quit do me a favor and point in their face and say i'm done with you after this but i need to tell you who you are i am looking at a victorious believer that overcame a pandemic and overcame poison and overcame irritation and i'm looking at somebody that's about to come into the greatest ultimotion motion power that your life has ever seen throw your head back and say lord i'm ready to be everything you've called me to be take nine seconds and clap those hands like the devil is in between them i said take nine seconds and clap those hands like the devils in between them one can put a thousand to flight and two can put ten thousand and it will never never never ever come here chris tucker look at him and say never never ever never ever never ever never ever never you need to hear never in the right context i'm never going to pull off [Music] we are in one of the greatest opportunities of our lives not because i'm standing here but because god is doing something and when god gets ready to do something what he does is he invites us in close to confront our fears about transition when he brings us in close he's trying to perfect the heart so that the ears don't communicate the wrong message and when peace begins to rest in the heart it is a sign that we can move forward [Music] god has brought us to this moment to experience more than what we have had before that is not an indictment on anything it is a sign of the grace of god that he would allow us to see what next looks like what i want to do for you now is i want to pray for you and i want to pull you into a familiar sound of intercession not just for where we are but for where we're going and what this intercession is going to do is it's going to give your heart the kind of courage to walk by faith and not by sight for if you trust in what you see you may be ensnared by your own lusts and fears but what god is about to do is he's about to teach you how to walk with your eyes closed that you would be able to clearly see that the next set of events have always been on his calendar never again will you be intoxicated by surprise because of what god didn't give you a heads up for when you walk by faith you walk by the future knowing that he who has created it all will sustain it all father these are your people all i need is like one intercessor on each row and we can crack this thing wide open father i thank you now that these are your people and that they are coming into the kind of context of belief that you are about to reveal to them what's next and i thank you father for those that have been trying to pre-calculate what next looks like thank you god that you have xed us out of all unnecessary communication but you have brought us into what is vital and here is what's vital he that began a good work in us will perform it until the day of jesus christ as a praying shepherd come on and pray as a praying shepherd we labor between now and not yet and we declare that not one of these will be lost in the cracks wow i declare now over this body of believers that something supernatural is about to make them cling to the word of god the word of god thank you father that you have given us a fearless leader that is courageous enough to walk in his necks i wish you would lift the roar behind your mask thank you father that as he begins to be all that he is that this place will begin to blossom into bloom into what she's called to be i thank you god that there be no schism that there be no stray that there be no anxiety that there be no stress that there'd be no irritation that there be no falling out that there be no falling away we curse the splits may the repairers ah may the repairers of the breach may those that build bridges come and ascend to build up i wish i had some watchmen on the wall come on and pray we declare now that there be no schism that there be no split that there be no tear that there be no destruction that the fabric would not be torn that the definition of the vision would not be altered thank you god that your people will stand united i said stand united i said stem united i said stand united confidently declaring the power and the fruit of god anything that stands in opposition roll it over mow it over release your strength upon your people that we would never second guess that jehovah jireh the god that provides i said the god that provides the god that provides the god that provides may there be no lack do me a favor lift your hands come on prophesied to the walls may there be no lack in any area of our lives in any space connected to us no lack no left behind no lack no lack i'm not lacking in my mind my heart my patience no lack come on i can't hear you come on i can't hear you come on we got work to do come on come
