now guys not only can you make money by working for a company which helps you out you know to get get you on your feet right uh but at the same time you can also start making money on your own man and that's the beauty of it you know some of you guys might know that that's what i try to preach out here man i try to make sure that you guys become developers but then not only that but to have an exit plan and what do i mean an exit plan i'm not saying that i want you guys to to quit as web developers or to not code but to have an exit plan where you can say you know what it was cool i worked for a couple of companies but then now i'm also able to make my own income okay and that's the best way you know this is how you get to see me here every day you know doing live streams doing videos right it's because i invested in myself by actually focusing on the things that was gonna give me an exit plan there's a lot of developers out here that you know they get to become developers they work for companies and they get stuck in that same cycle of hey i should go maybe to another company hey i should go to another company to get a uh increase in my pay etc right i knew from the beginning that you know the guys that really make the big bucks they're not working for other people right what they do is they create their own products they create their own services and they make their own money and then they hire guys like us that are developers to do their work for them okay and that's the same thing that i want you guys to to keep in mind when you come into the game you got to have an exit plan like what's your goal what is it that you want to do in the next five years you got to plan this out because you don't want to be one of those guys that is like i'm just here for the for the love of it it's like i just want to code it's like yeah we all love to code but you gotta have a goal you have to have a plan every single year every single step of your journey in your career as a developer what's gonna happen on your first year as a developer right shane then from there you gotta go what's gonna happen on your second year okay what's gonna happen on your third year on your fourth year you should have a steady income that makes as much money as your main you know your main income from your job meaning if you're getting paid a hundred thousand dollars at a company right you should be making at least 60 70 80 000 on the side to really get to the point where you really want to get to in life okay i'm just telling you guys ahead of time like keep that in mind if you don't have those uh goals and those achievements that you want to get to right then what happens is you just hear you know being just like the rest of everybody else okay and you're just gonna be just doing you know the last 20 30 years which is hey i'm gonna work for a company you know after a while after i hit the ceiling then i'm gonna go and transfer to another company start working over there and make an extra ten thousand twenty thousand dollars right you can't continue doing the same thing over and over right and think that you're gonna get a different result because you're not right you're always gonna be just working for somebody and it's fine to do that in the beginning initially especially if you're the type of person that don't want to go the extra mile like let's say you're just the guys like man i just want to get a steady paycheck you know work monday to friday and then saturday and sunday i'm chilling right if you're that type of individual hey more power to you but there's a lot of people in here like myself that you know don't believe in just getting stuck into one single thing it's like we know we have more potential than just working for somebody like you know when you really think about it what's the difference of the guy who owns the company is hiring you and yourself like what's the difference there's not that much of a difference the only difference is one guy has the drive to say you know what i'm gonna risk going in and creating my own uh company and creating my own product and then another guy might just say you know what i don't want to deal with that you're going to say i just want to code and get paid for it okay uh but again what i try to do here is give you guys all the options teach you guys everything that you guys need to get into a job right because i do recommend to get into a job first initially until you start building everything up and setting yourself up but i also want to make sure that i give you the tools to do the same thing that i did i can only teach you what i done right like i can't teach you guys how to get a google how to go to facebook i can't teach you guys to go in and be like hey guys i'm gonna get you guys into amazon that's not what i teach right that's not what i'm here for right because that's not not the things that i focused on what i focus on was hey i want to get a job you know pay my bills take care of myself take care of my family and then from there be able to make my own income and we've achieved that multiple times already okay so that's what i can do for you if you want to be like me just like hey make your own income make your own bread you know independently like when i wake up i wake up by 11 o'clock in the morning i woke up by 11 o'clock in the morning i don't got a calling i'm sorry i'm getting i'm getting to work late like nah i just i start my day working from there you're gonna say hey i i gotta do this and there like you gotta there's a deadline my deadline is the deadlines that i put in that i set you gonna say zero stress you know like i have no stress in my life when it comes to to the coding side of things at all like i do things on my own time and i do it how i want to do it and i know that if i work extra hours i get paid more for my time meaning like hey if i decide you know what i'm gonna work hard this weekend right let's say for example if i was gonna say you know what i got a couple of applications that i got to build right maybe i got a client or two right i could easily say you know what i already made my my little five thousand dollars for the week i could just chill but if i say you know what i wanna make eight i wanna make an extra three thousand i'll work that extra saturday to make that three thousand you know what i'm saying you can't do that at a company bro like when you work for somebody you put in the the hours that you put in and you could put in all the extra hours that you want you're only making your salary and that's the the only issue that i always have with companies working for other people is like my time is worth more i know it and if i put in more work i should get paid more you know what i mean but it is what it is man let's get to it all right shout out to everybody in here what up dark knight yeah man we got a couple of people uh bruh um good question learn php and wordpress theme development versus shopify theme development for first job at coding fees cool that's a good question brought tripping so what i will say is if right now you're in a position where you're looking for a job right and you notice that there's a lot of wordpress uh jobs in your area i would say go for wordpress right now at the same time if there's jobs in your areas for shopify i would say go for shopify right because you're trying to find your your first job but at the same time i would say that if you're looking to make extra income and make you know get a skill that's going to be more valuable in the next six months to a year i will say shopify is the way to go because there's less competition so i'll give you an example there's about like ten thousand to twenty thousand different agencies throughout the world uh that do like theme development right for wordpress there's a lot of people that go and create themes on wordpress right but there's not that many people that create themes for shopify now there's a huge demand for shopify themes but there's not enough types of shopify themes meaning like let's say for example somebody has i don't know they have a store an online store that they sell products for like let's say for painting right there's not a theme that's catering to like a painting company or painting products you know what i'm saying so you got like this tape you got the the type of the bear paint the uh whatever type of paint that's out there right like there's not a theme for that specific thing to do now in wordpress there's like a hundred of those okay now let's say for example for uh i don't know for playstation five right i'm pretty sure somebody already created five different themes that are just for playstation 5 uh stores like you know catering to those type of uh catering to that type of product right that's for wordpress but on shopify there's not that many people that if right now you go to themeforest.net if we go in and search uh for shopify let's say playstation 5 theme there's probably not going to be a theme for that because there's not that many people creating uh you know themes and applications for shopify this is not something that's popular it's going to become popular in the next six months where you're gonna see i already see it there's a whole bunch of youtubers that they watch what i do they don't subscribe right they don't subscribe to the channel they think that like we don't know like yeah we know bro you watch the channel you watch what we do and then from there you start doing the same topics the same type of videos same type of thing like i know bro like you can't [ __ ] me i see you you know i mean but you know you're gonna start seeing people coming in because as the the market becomes even bigger right there's hundreds of thousands of businesses that now are switching over to e-commerce and the fact that walmart and walmart and facebook and instagram they allow you to go in and sell your products directly from shopify into their platform through their marketplaces like now everybody's creating a shopify website right even people that used to have wordpress and woocommerce and things like that like magento now they're switching over to shopify because it's so easy to integrate with all of this other third-party markets you know what i'm saying so again this is the way to go if you're really thinking about how can i create something that's going to be profitable it's going to have less competition and that can become an authority and shopify is the way to go right like when you see something everywhere it's already too late like we can't even say it's too late because a lot of people still find their way up but by the time you see it everywhere it's done bro like you know what i'm saying by the time you you see like hey man this is over here on this on this channel on this blog on this twitter post and this this and that by the time you start seeing it everywhere you the average person the average developer you it's gonna be very difficult for you to stand out right but right now since there's not that much competition this is the way to got isram you got uh beverly hills polo club like we're talking about this is a diverse company that you know a diverse agency that has a lot of different type of clients right but this is what you're gonna find in the world of shopify there's a whole bunch of agencies that are focusing a lot on on shopify and as you can see e-commerce solution big commerce woocommerce magento shopify right so most of these companies also one thing that you're gonna notice is that they're using a lot of php most of this agencies that's what they focus on you know and this is where you're really going to find the things that i love about e-commerce i spend a lot of years as an e-commerce developer like you know that's what i focus on you know i worked in a lot of companies going in from transferring their their websites from like old systems in perl to moving them to a php laravel to using things like magento like that's what i used to do for a very long time but all of those skills that i picked up by building those applications for those companies are the things that has made me the money that i'm making right now because i use the same skills that i uh i pick up from over there and i reuse it on my own businesses you know what i'm saying so that's the beauty of it you know like sometimes people be focusing on so much like oh i want to work in a tech company or this this and that it's like now bro what i worry about is i want to go to a company where i could learn from from them and then i could reuse those skills on my own and that's what we do at e-commerce and in shopify and woocommerce and magento but right now shopify is the hottest one that's why a lot of companies are switching over you know um somebody asked me shopify and salesforce are lit right now yeah man that's another that there might not be jobs in in my area for this specific skill everybody's remote right now apply to all of them let them decide if your skills your portfolio catches their attention that's on them you get on saying don't disqualify yourself don't say oh i don't have three years of experience that's what they want they want you to disqualify yourself from it because it's easier for them to then focus on the real candidates are really good they don't want to focus on the guy that's iffy like oh maybe i i don't know if i could get a job i don't know if am i too far can i get in jevin they should apply to this job right and then later on two years later i was on the other side interviewing people that were just like me and i'm like damn isn't this funny i used to be so scared going into the interview but now isn't it funny that now i'm interviewing them and this is exactly what the guys were doing to me back then you know what i'm saying this is the same reason why people wasn't applying to certain jobs because it says three years of experience or i have like hey we got a php python node.js javascript uh freaking c sharp like five different languages when i was at home i used to think that i needed to know all of those things but what you don't understand is that they put that there to really scare you off and at the same time to let the guys that really know about this that hey even though this job might be a php job but if you have c sharp experience or if you have no js experience or you have python experience you can still apply to here you get on saying don't disqualify yourself that's not your job your job as a somebody that's trying to get to get into that position is to apply your job is not to disqualify yourself and say i'm not prepared for this that's not your job my dude you're gonna say don't disqualify yourself that's why people get paid for you know you don't get a check to be disqualifying yourself you know what i mean wait wait do that
