what's your day like what did you do today um I got it pretty early and I went to work and worked on a bunch of edits for the shows for the next episode five of both Grey's and scandal when you say edits you're in the video room actually cutting the show I'm sitting in my office now because everything is on computers I got okay no it's talking the editors on the phones and then we had a table read for a scandal episode mm-hmm then I gave notes on that and then I literally got up jumped in the car and came to come over here and do all this well I'm glad you're here we have so much to talk about you have so many things going on and in during all of those things you somehow took time to write a book I did I crazy to me what is the name of the book I wrote a book called year of yes which I sort of came up with because my sister sort of said to me you never say yes to anything you never accept invitations to anything you all you do is work okay never have any fun and I thought well okay for a year I'm gonna say yes to every terrifying thing that comes in my way and you were the first terrifying thing they came at least be a per minute my wife was reading an article an interview with you last night and she starts reading aloud to me she said Shonda Rhimes said the worst like the worst thing that she ever had to do in her life was your show but well that's flattering for the finale of scandal we did that scandal behind the scandal oh - candelabra that's right yeah yeah it was really fun and it turned out really great but I was terrified the entire time I didn't seem scared I couldn't I couldn't I didn't think I said a word okay a block of wood I talk a lot so I wasn't paying attention Garry very very I was panicking the whole time it was the first time I did anything like that and you felt good about it afterwards afterwards I feel like I'd survived I see okay and then you decided to start taking on challenges that you might not have otherwise yeah I gave a commencement speech at Dartmouth to like 20,000 people or something like that and and then I did a guest spot on the Mindy Kaling show and I just did a bunch of things that just would have scared the bejesus out of me by the way you would say I change your life dramatically and better yes it's like you are my Oprah thank you very much you know who my Oprah is Oprah okay hi I'm Jimmy Kimmel are you sad that the video is over will subscribe to our YouTube channel and he will never be sad again ever
