what's going on everyone it's fuzzy welcome back to yet another mlb recap i'm sorry if this is going up a little bit late i got a little twitter debate with colin cowherd of all people because he is saying that major league baseball is dying and i just i'm just not okay with people saying that because mlb the show was the best-selling video game in the month of april and for the first week of the 2021 mlb season we set a viewership record as an audience so to say baseball is dying because pictures are too good that's not the case but aside from that we have so much baseball news to get into from yesterday we have a few walk-off victories shohei ohtani was amazing yesterday until the umpires screwed him over and then jacob degrom currently right now might be the best player in baseball i know mike trout has that status right now but honestly the way that jacob degram has been playing to begin the season i mean he's otherworldly he is not human if this is your first time on the channel we do this every single day so don't be afraid to subscribe and stick around and also use code fuzzy on see geek if you're going to any minor league games or major the game save yourself 20 bucks off your entire purchase all right let's kick start the video with some walk-offs the red sox were facing off against the blue jays toronto goes up three to nothing and then bobby dollback hits his seventh home run of the season so you're thinking maybe the red sox are gonna make a comeback well they do it was just after vladimir guerrero jr hit his 19th homerun of the season he's also leading everyone and wins above replacement that precious war stat tyler chatwood unfortunately for blue jays fans kind of gives them ptsd because the last time that we saw him he blew a lead against cleveland and then on a seventh straight walk he gives up another run and then you have christian royal with another clutch home run this one ties it up and alex verdugo walks it off in the final inning tyler chatwood and the manager for toronto they are probably the most hated people in that entire country right now another walk-off came from the a's versus the royals matt chapman he does it with not only the glove as you guys can see but with the bat as well seth brown he continues his fantastic rookie season and salvador perez he put the royals on his back with two home runs in yesterday's game he now has 27 home runs in his last 99 games as a catcher that is almost impossible whether you're talking about mike piazza or gary sanchez or johnny bench only a few amount of catchers in baseball history can put up the numbers that sauroprez is doing offensively the a's they come back to walk it off after it gets tied up at three a piece so they win four to three all right let's talk about the angels versus the diamondbacks because this was a wild game shohei ohtani he fouls a pitch off his knee and he stays in the game and because of that he's able to rope a 114 mile per hour rbi double anthony rendon then drives in shohei ohtani and on the first two bucks of his career shoheutani has not backed since japan so i am fully under the impression that the umpires took control of the game yesterday and they stole a gem directly from shohei so apparently he did not come set i see shohei otani coming set so he boxing a run and he does have to come out the game and eduardo escobar in the ninth inning hits a massive game-tying home run off of rizal iglesias now the angels they do come back to win it and i do have to be cheesy i'm not gonna lie to you guys and i saw shohei otani doing this thing yesterday and this was also after jacob degrom did his thing i shed a tear for the game of baseball because it is in such good hands vladimir guerrero jr with 19 home runs acuna and tatis for the mvp you have all of the other guys in the american league i mean the game of baseball right now aside from what colin cowherd wants to say is in great hands and if we can get these sticky stuff and the baseball corrected this is going to be a fantastic game forever i think that we're on the right track two teams went off offensively yesterday we have the dodgers and the reds but let's talk about la first max muncie started off the game with a two run shot and then justin turner had a solo home run and then gavin lux who has been an rbi monster lately hits a three run home run gavin lux does it again only this was not a home run he drives an rbi and then clayton kershaw makes it eight to nothing then you have albert pools who has to come in and replacement for max muncie who left with an oblique injury pujols hits a bomb and same with will smith angels fans have kept telling me that yeah albert bulls might be raking for the dodgers but just wait until he grounds into a double plate to end a rally it's going to happen sometime soon clayton kershaw on the same night that jacob degrom did his thing kershaw goes six scoreless innings and has nine strikeouts so in the comment section down below i want you guys to go crazy before we talk about jacob let me know would you rather have prime kershaw or prime jacob degrom nick castiano's drives and jesse winker that combination is so lethal they are both leading baseball and batting average three home runs later the reds are now up nine to nothing i mean sheesh that lineup can go from top to bottom in a blink of an eye i do want to mention though that brendan rodgers of the rockies the former top prospect we've talked about him a whole lot more as of late he snapped to three home runs and a 114 ops plus is he going to be the trevor story replacement if he continues to play well i think that trevor story is going to get traded without further ado let's go ahead and talk about the man of the hour jacob degrom i have to talk about all the records that he set yesterday because with this scoreless start he lowers his era to .56 which is the lowest ever for a starting pitcher in his first 10 starts he also reached 100 strikeouts in 61 and two-thirds innings pitch that is the fastest ever to 100 strikeouts and then also offensively as you guys can see on this swing he gets the five rbis on the season he's only allowed four earned runs as a pitcher he is the first player ever to have more rbis than earned runs given up through his first 10 starts jacob degrom right now might be having the greatest stretch of a starting pitcher ever i'm talking about better than bob gibson well bob gibson had a stretch that was almost unreachable sandy koufax all the other players that you can mention jacob degrom is going to live forever in the history books as being one of the most dominant pitchers we've ever seen now unfortunately he did have to leave the game with some flexor tendonitis but he believes that he's gonna be okay and what happens to the mets as soon as degrom leaves the game jake cronenworth hits a two run shot now luckily edwin diaz he was on top of his game yesterday so he gets his 11th save of the year but in my opinion you have mike trout and jacob degrom they might be on the same playing field right now for best player in baseball the only problem is jacob degrom can't play every single day not like softball players were if you didn't know anatomically when you pitch like this like a softball player it's actually a natural motion doing this where you're coming forward that is not a natural body motion so you can't pitch every single day if that was the case jacob degrom he would get my vote for best player in baseball because every time he's out there six scoreless seven scoreless with 13 to 15 strikeouts an rbi or two i mean i know that shohei otani gets all the praise and rightfully so because shohei is just unreal as a hitter but he is not the pitcher of jacob degrom so honestly right now again let me just mention one more time the state of baseball could not be better i do understand that the sticky stuff and the baseballs that keep getting changed that needs to stop but we're on a fantastic pace for baseball to become prevalent yet again and hopefully colin coward i'm going to mention him just the last time hopefully he can get his you know what out of his you know what and realize that we're coming baseball it's here to stay jacob degrom was insane yesterday but one picture might have been better we have anthony desclafani he was sensational now i do want to talk about max scherzer because he had to leave the game with a groin injury the bullpen for the nationals came in huge buster posey yes he had a home run in the fourth inning for his 11th of the year but that was the only run of the game the nationals pen was fantastic in relief of max scherzer mike talkman robs juan soto this game might have gone 20 innings had this not happened this was the second time that he's robbed a clutch home run in the last few weeks but anthony des clefani was insane he goes a complete game shutout only allows two hits that is the third complete game shutout of his career he is very under the radar you better put some respect on that giant's rotation they're disgusting aaron sivali was just as dominant yesterday we'll talk about him in a moment because the cleveland offense woke up yesterday they were facing former former cleveland player jake bowers i'm so happy that he's off the team because his replacement bobby bradley he draws a bases loaded walk and then he hits a home run later on in the game he's not done yet he drives in his third rbi and harold ramirez makes it seven to nothing and aaron cevalli the number two pitcher for cleveland goes eight innings only allows one hit does not allow a single earned run only walks one and has 11 strikeouts bobby bradley i want to mention this because this is funny and four games matched the entire offensive production from jake bowers in almost 50 games what took so long the cubs versus the cardinals this was a very entertaining game jack peterson goes yard but dylan carlson and nolan arnotto with some huge rbis i thought the game was going to be out of hand it was not because yadier molina was not great defensively a pass ball and then a sergio alcantara triple turns into a run as the adia throws it into left field anthony rizzo goes 14 pitches in this at-bat and wins it on a home run then you have jack peterson and wilson contreras putting up eight runs so chicago they've now won three straight they are still in first place they're tied with the brewer so let's talk about the brewers you have polanco with a pretty fun backflip i'm not gonna lie off brandon woodruff of all people luis uris makes a stud play over at third base to keep it close and then christian yelich huge a huge rbi double and then three bases loaded walks later it makes it seven runs for the brewers to brian hayes i know he hits a home run but it didn't really mean much i just want to say he has eight home runs and an almost 200 ops plus in his first 34 games he's been a monster and josh hader strikes out colin moran so it looks like colin moran is gonna be fine even after he got hit in the hand by a pitch a few days ago ozzy albee's drove in the first two rbis for the braves yesterday but then jazz chisholm became derek jeter for a play just look at him off the back foot you're just so fun to watch on birdie ties it up for the marlins and then jazz with a two rbi single he gets the second because of a fielder's choice so clutch and alcantara he goes six solid innings only allows two earned runs and has six strikeouts garcia in the final inning he gets the save with two strikeouts he has 11 saves already on the season and the marlins have won four of five matchups against the braves to begin the year the raise versus the orioles mancini hits a two run home run and that was it for the baltimore offense you have brandon lau hitting a rainbow home run to give the raise a lead and ryan yarbrough goes six scoreless as that mancini home run came after an error so those were two unearned runs and mark go is already up to 35 rbis he is flying under the radar in terms of run production the raise of the first team in baseball to 40 wins and then the final two games they were close we have no mar mazara homering for the detroit tigers and paredes makes it two runs liam hendricks he was not happy tis tis he should have just been content the fact that the hitters were having to hit in the rain as well because as soon as he came back to the game after it stopped raining he gives up a base hit to miguel cabrera and then a home run to daz cameron that was daz's first home run of his career he is the son of former outfielder mike cameron the white sox they still win though so he gets the win instead of the save just kind of an overall crazy game and last but not least the astros versus the twins nelson cruz is defying father time and then miguel sano and josh donaldson they both leave the yard altuve 12 home runs and a 2.2 war already on the season he is on pace to get some mvp votes ladies and gentlemen maybe top 15 because there are so many good players in the american league this year and altuve's defense has improved a little bit so that's helping his case as well another player that is going to get some mvp votes julie guriel hits his 10th home run of the year but then josh johnson for the second time in the last few games a clutch home runner tied up the only problem is bregman makes an insane play and then martine maldonado teams up with michael brantley they drive in the final two runs of the game as the astros they win six to four alright everyone well that does it for today's mlb recap let me know in the comment section down below a few things one do you think baseball is dying i don't think that's the case number two is jacob degrom better than clayton kirschoff we're comparing primes i think that kershaw is going to have the longevity because of course the ground is throwing 101 miles an hour he is going to empty the clip a little bit sooner so he's not going to go eight nine innings every single time like kershaw used to do and then also who do you think is going to win mvp in both leagues right now we have about 50 to 60 games under our belts who is it going to be is it going to be vladimir guerrero jr is it going to be fernando tatis is it going to be shohotani is it going to be jacob degrom thank you guys for watching and enjoy this day in mlb history and the 3-1 popped up castillo dropped the ball he's dropped the ball here comes to sarah and the yankees win oh my goodness he dropped the ball
