Shirou vs Gilgamesh | A Deeper Look at Fate/Stay Night

all right so today I feel like we should talk about one of the more controversial topics from the franchise Shiro versus Gilgamesh and basically we're just gonna be going over whether or not you guys feel like he deserved his win based on the circumstances so did she Road deserve his outcome with Gilgamesh let's take it back to the timeline sure gets adopted at 7 he kept on asking cures Suzuki trainee and mage craft he finally agrees and sure starts his training at the age of 9 when you bdub comes around shiro is more or less 17 years old which means that this dude has been training his craft or eight years straight a process that consisted of shurl killing himself on a day-to-day basis with no results but he still kept going the anime comes around he finally starts to see his results and all of a sudden people feel like he doesn't deserve them so just looking at that by itself and everything that he has to go through I would say yes but here's the problem with that now that I'm able to actually sit with the fight and I'm not in awe by how good it looks I've come to realize that my issues with the fight personally has less to do with the fight itself and more to do with the things that lead up to it going back to the eyes burn castle with Gil Gil was in a position to ice everybody in that room except saber but you know what he doesn't said he says instead of ending it right here and now I'm just gonna walk out the room and let you all recover anime [ __ ] but we'll just say that that's his prior talking fine I'll take it I'll take it but then you decided to take it a step further by allowing Shero to gain archers skill during their battle huh that strange aren't you put in a lot of time and a lot of pain in order for him to acquire that body so just because Shirl has his skill set it doesn't mean that he has his reflexes it doesn't mean that he has his toughness it just means that he has his skills so that's one thing then you got the magic crest for Rin we all know about the process of receiving a magic crest it's a very strict procedure where even if you're from the family there is an extremely high chance that the transplant might kill you look at sis ago from Apocrypha he tried to give a magic crests to his daughter and it killed her finish finito the [ __ ] is dead yet here we have Sherrill who's not even from the Totsuka household prancing around unharmed like he's one of their cousins now when it comes to the fight itself there are some very skeptical things going on with the way that Gill responded and I just want to get this out the way off top yes we understand that Gill is too prideful to take out a ax because he feels like Shiro isn't worthy fine however no matter how arrogant you are or how self-important you claim to be you were not about to just stand there and let somebody whoop your ass he's not even defending himself just because Sheryl gained sword skills doesn't mean that Gil loses his where is his armor being prideful doesn't make you stupid come on bruh be for real there is ZERO struggle in his win that's one thing that I did enjoy about days adaptation more than you photo book although Gil was still being overwhelmed by Sheryl at least it looked like he was making an effort to put up an actual fight you beat up had Gil looking like he never picked up a sword in his life you said that Gil couldn't stand up the shell because he never mastered a single weapon cool bumped the weapon what about the fact that Gil wrestled in Quito all throughout the city of Earth in the epic of gilgamesh by Lorde he should have RKO this man but that never happens that's another thing that I wanted to get into Gil and in Kita's fight with Humbaba when Gil is in the face of someone that he thought wasn't that powerful and then they turn out to be formidable vile or he just might freeze up he froze up against him bobble so I'm completely fine with him doing that because it's accurate to who he was but on the other side of the fence it just looks insane you got Cheryl's zipping around through the field at spectacular speed he has spectacular reflexes he's never had a fight on this scale before in his life but you would never know that if this was the first thing that you saw he's doing ro eius he's got Avalon his body is made of sores what more does he need oh I know let's bring back Archer and have him snipe Gil in the head as if he didn't have enough help already this is fan fiction at this point I understand that you bdub is his realm and it's not like he killed Gilgamesh he only defeated him within the confines of his own realm that could have been believable if you didn't have all these other things going on because when you have him doing stuff like this it makes it seem like he learned exactly what he needed to learn when he needed to learn it and that makes my guy look really bad 10 to 15 years worth the information learned early and you telling me that there's no drawbacks not one stop it and although he was training with Sabre who is said to be a master swordsman for a few days that doesn't justify this my main gripe about Archer coming back was that it was just too much Sean said himself that he was ready and willing to cut off his own arm if that's what it took to beat Gilgamesh so let him do that let's shall be great because with Archer coming back sure it looked cool at the time but it's too contrived man I like the idea of the fight I like the way that the characters bounce off each other and I do feel like sure definitely should have a win
