Gilgamesh, The King of Heroes [Fate/Zero] [FSN] [FGO]

all right all right hold the applause hold the applause you knew this was coming ladies and gentlemen i bring to you the one and only the king of heroes gilgamesh magnifico he's just a blessing among mankind his story comes directly from the epic of gilgamesh which is said to be the oldest surviving poem in history so let's get into it now in order for us to understand gilgamesh first we have to take a look at the world around him the fake world goes out of his way to tell us that the gods used to have a greater presence and that they ruled over the earth until 0 a.d yet you take a look at gilgamesh's time babylonia and there are no gods to be found there's divine spirits like ishtar and kitts but no actual gods how can this be possible well by this point in time the foreign entity safar had already invaded earth and she cut a deal with gilgamesh's father lugo bonda that allowed him to survive the results of this invasion however put the age of gods in a huge state of decay so in response to this situation lugobanda and his wife ninsun created gilgamesh as the keystone that would bridge the gap between the gods and the forthcoming age of man and there you have it we have gilgamesh a young king born two-thirds deity that ruled over the mesopotamian city of earth but there was one huge dilemma gill rebelled against the gods and while he did do a alright job at being king he was too indifferent to understand the suffering that he had his people going through in other words he was an [ __ ] to the point where eventually the people of earth started to complain yeah this is the gods you said something's wrong with gil come on bro it can't be that bad man this dude is out here [ __ ] everything up he sacrifices our soldiers he spends up all the money on [ __ ] he even gets first dibs on smashing the new bride before the husband does what more do you want from us so ururu the goddess of creation had to make a being that could counter his behavior just from a lump of clay the goddess forms in kedu and sends him as the chain of heaven to put gil in his place since he's out here out of line in the fake verse he is actually a giant that spawned in the wilderness upon his discovery a hunter is told that the best way that he could deal with this beast is to borrow a temple prostitute from gilgamesh no absolutely not bro you literally have prostitutes everywhere exactly i have prostitutes everywhere not you you know what i don't got time for this just take whoever so the hunter and the prostitute shamhat pulled up to the woods where ankitu was located and they go over the game plan all right so here's what's gonna happen you're gonna go out and let him finesse them draws i'll be on lookout in case i need to run and get help now the fake verse has this moment where in kedu and shamhat spend time bonding together for a week right but in the real version ankita was out here piping this woman down for six days seven nights straight god damn fate makes him take the form of sham hot due to him taking a liking to her she tells him about king gilgamesh and all the things that usually go down in earth just hearing about the king's strength convincing kidu that they would have a good battle by this point in time gilgamesh had already witnessed two dreams that in kydu was coming when shamhai brings in kedu to the city of europe he comes across a man bringing offerings to an upcoming wedding ceremony he then goes on to say that gil is going to lay with the wife before the husband does this filled in kedu with so much rage that he went out to challenge gilgamesh himself he rushes to the bride's chamber and stop gil the moment he tries to come in at this point gilgamesh and in ketu are going at it mind you that originally gilgamesh and kidu are both huge in size so basically you got two swole ass dudes wrestling each other through the streets of erg like it's a wwe special their power alone made the walls of the city shape while they were fighting in the fake version the two go at it all the same this even goes on to a point where enkidu forced guild to empty his vault of all his weapons before they finally came to a draw and he's the only one that's been able to accomplish this in the epic however gil is the stronger one and wrestles enkidu to the ground his status and bloodline was something that separated him from everyone else which also made it hard for him to take things like compassion seriously now that ankitu had proven himself of being worthy to be at guild's side the king formally approves of the wild man as his new right hand the two of them embrace each other and his mother gives her blessing eventually gill goes on a search to find an adventure that him and his new companion can take on he tells akiru about the formidable humbaba that guards cedar forest a forbidden location to the mortal man gil is convinced that even if he dies against him baba it would be a death worth living since the creature is boasted to be so powerful the two of them get armor and weapons made which included giant swords axes and bows the elders tell gilgamesh that he should be careful and not rely solely on his brawn after putting up several prayers to the gods the two of them finally pull up to cedar forest now despite the fact that this was gail's bright idea to go on this adventure this man was out here getting cold feet he was waking up in cold sweats to the point where ankita was like hey bro you right yeah man you know i'm just kind of tense so you scared scared who's scared the guys later helped gilgamesh by telling him that hambaba has seven layers of mystic armor each one representing a layer of his strength as of today he only has one of them on so if you guys are really trying to make this happen then i advise you to do it right now because i'ma tell you if he puts on all seven both of y'all are gonna get smacked up they reach the main portion where hambaba is supposed to be guarding and they begin to chop the trees down gilgamesh then says hey you hear something aikido is like no gilgamesh for the 17th time today we're the only ones here and in that moment a giant beast comes towering over the both of them now i'm sure you guys are familiar with the face that gil made when harry cleese almost escaped his chains of heaven this is the abort mission face somebody anybody hit the goddamn button the guys then released 13 storms against him baba to help the king regain his composure he then takes hambava to the ground yeah don't look so hard now do you tough guy humbaba is on the ground like all right all right all right it ain't even that serious what do you want drugs money and keto is in the back like man what are you doing kill him humbaba then tells them that he is supported by the god in lille and if they go through with this then a curse is for sure to come back and bite them where it hurts and kidu continuously urged guild to finish the job so the two of them finally take him baba down using the same wood that they chop down in the forest gill constructs a raft and float backs to earth with him baba's head and he returns to his throne looking fresh as usual so fresh that the goddess of love ishtar just couldn't seem to control herself ishtar barges into his quarters telling him that if he shoots her club up he'll be the richest man in the world he leans over and whispers in her ear but i already am now get your thought ass away from me and just like that ishtar's entire world had gone to ruin gil knew that the goddess was promiscuous and often slept around with several men and threw them to the side but she had never been turned down like this now ishtar is looking for revenge she goes to her father anu the god of the heavens and begs him to use his bull of heaven with it she could get a front row seat of this monster ripping gilgamesh into shreds the funny part about it is that even her father was like i mean he is right though so she threatens him too fun take the bull out of nowhere a giant bull falls directly in the middle of her the weight of the beast alone made fissures in the ground killing at least a hundred of their people right off the bat this continued multiple times until enkidu finally grabbed it by his horns together him and gilgamesh go against the bull as in kiru looks for an open opportunity to grab his tail once he got a hold of his tail he tells gilgamesh to finish it off and the king kills it by lunging his sword through his body ishtar becomes aware of this and climbs all the way to the top of the city walls i hope that it was worth it since you'll both be cursed from here on out but in kiru is on demon time right now he ain't listening to none of that he picks up the bulls rear end and launches it straight toward ishtar you try that nonsense again and that'll be you laying on the ground next not him the people of uruk soon began to champion the two heroes but later on that night and kiru has a nightmare the gods are pissed and the only proper way for them to atone is for in kiru's life to be taken away so the next day ekidu falls ill and for nearly two weeks he was stuck bedridden with gill by his side when he finally passes away the king loses it he paces back and forth frantically pulling out his own hair and ripping up his own clothes his only true friend had been taken by the hands of despair and there was absolutely nothing that he could do about it they hold funeral services and just as gil promised he erected a statue and in kiru's name once that was over he gets rid of his royal attire since these garments didn't really have any meaning to him anymore he then begins to wander the wild wondering if he should still be alive as well he goes on a journey in search of ood napishtum a king that was said to have survived the mesopotamian flood that was supposed to end the world in some versions you may know him as noah but fate tells us that he is also zia sudra played by king hassan once gilgamesh gets the word on some directions he begins to walk through a tunnel for several hours in pure darkness until he emerges from the other side here he meets up with sudairi who happened to own a tavern that was nearby he walks up to the door and the moment that he gets there she slams the door shut in his face i'm looking for udina piston i don't know man you look kind of broke you sure you're not trying to steal something i'm literally a king he then tells her about all the things that went down and she warns him about the trials that were about to come next she sends him on his way to udner's boatman since he was the only one that could navigate the waters that would lead to his location when he finds the boatman gill is asked to chop down 120 trees and turn them into poles he completes the task and they begin their journey over the waters of death waters that no mortal man was allowed to touch or they would lose their life this is why the boatman had him carve the 120 poles something that gill came to find out was that every time he stuck the pole in the water the waters were literally eating the poles into nothing the poles were meant to be used as oars when he ran out of poles he used the animal skin that he was wearing as a sail he arrives in front of udna piston and begins to tell him everything that happened how the situation now makes him fear death and how he's looking for a way to avoid it udina also tells him his story and how him and his wife were granted immortality udna tells him okay if you can stay up for a week straight then i'll help you out literally a day passes by and gil is knocked out killed wake up son you're embarrassing yourself okay i just want to clarify i wasn't asleep something just got in my four weeks straight uh sure he tried to pretend like it didn't happen but udna already knew the deal how you gonna tell me that you want to be immortal and you can't even stay awake but i tell you what i can do he tells gil about a plan of youth that can be found in the water nearby so gil dives in snatches the plant and begins to head back home now on his way back when they reach land gill decided to take a quick bath in the waters and set the plant to the side until he was finished and just like that a snake had slithered up stole gilgamesh's plant and shedded its skin emphasizing the fact that the plant was actually the real deal gilgamesh felt defeated his entire trip had been in vain but in the fey world this provided him with the introspection that he needed and he just laughs it off this was the epitome of the never ending rat race we call life you want what you can't have and when you're finally able to get those things you realize that you don't even want them anymore the outcome of this event convinced him that he must take his mortality seriously and that he must make the best of the time that he had left and while in kiru's death was without a doubt a tragic situation it was the necessary bump in the road for gil to grow into the king that he needed to be the intolerable king that we had all come to know in fate
