Shepard Fairey x MTN COLORS

you know I'd heard about Montana for quite a while but I think the first time I was introduced to it might have been by Logan Hicks but also I know saber was using it and showed me how the transparent the alien transparent worked but the first time I picked it up for the purpose is similar to what I do now was when I was a teenager making homemade stencils to make handmade punk rock t-shirts and skate t-shirts then later on when I went to art school and I started doing the Andre the Giant has a posse sticker started using spray paint to do stencils on the street also there was a variety of colors that you couldn't find anywhere else and even though most people know me for using a very limited color palette the Montana cream is perfect for me it you know it's as if they mix the color for what I want funny because there's certain things that we can't do with Montana because the paint's too good it won't sand through like all the other crappy paint it was a sand right off having worked with a lot of different kinds of spray-paint in the studio I'd never do anything on the street with an eating other other than Montana because there's your ability factor I'd paint in my studio but for the street it was always the stuff that dried the fastest didn't rip and and was was durable and you know Montana would have been great to have back then because a lot of my stencils in New York that I see they're still up because they just don't clean shop that fast out there are really faded now so this is this is my painting studio screen printing studio collage studio art studio it's initially was called studio number two because the design studio is called Studio number one but then decided to call it the juice and we've also said that it's the is number two is the but yeah and you know I've worked mostly with spray paint stencils and screen printing as the techniques to build to build the pieces this is these are all racks of spray paint stencils and collage papers I I work on top of paper that's been collage this is a there's some screen prints on top of collage that still need to be need to be touched up so there's a lot of there's a lot of steps when I tell people like make my work with screen printing and stenciling I think that a lot of people think oh yeah screen stencil done but there's there's a lot of fine-tuning editing different steps in the process layering that go into the pieces I'm always doing a lot of bombing on the street with and murals on the street so these are all posters that will be used for outdoor installations my my techniques of using using stencils in my work as a fine artist came from using stencils to bomb on the street and also to make things like like t-shirts and customize my studio walls but all the techniques I use in my art are things that I think any average seventeen year old can figure out the colors here are colors I use all the time and now the can design is in a way to derive from the my book cover the supply and demand so this is a sort of the the piece that's about summing up my my whole graphic legacy yeah it's an honor to work with these guys and have a custom can I because so many great artists use use Montana and I'm yeah I'm really probably not worthy but I'll take it I'm happy about it [Music]
